[00:00:00] Shri Sai Satcharitra, Epilogue We have done with Chapter 51 and now we come to the last chapter

[00:00:12] that is number 52 in the original. In this, Hemat Pat gave his concluding remarks and promised

[00:00:19] to give an index giving the contents of all the chapters in verse as it is given in Marathi

[00:00:26] sacred books. But unfortunately that index was not found in Hemat Pat's papers. It was

[00:00:33] therefore composed and supplied by an able and worthy devotee of Sai Baba, Mr. B.V.

[00:00:40] Dev, retired Mamletar of Thane. As we give an English books and index in the beginning

[00:00:46] and contents of his chapter at the top, we need not consider the last chapter as index

[00:00:52] here. And so we consider this chapter as the epilogue. Unfortunately, Hemat Pat did not

[00:00:59] survive to revise the manuscript of this chapter and make it ready for the press. When

[00:01:05] it was sent to the press, Mr. Dev found it to be incomplete and unintangible in certain

[00:01:11] places. But it had to be published as it was found. The main topics dealt therein are

[00:01:18] briefly given below.

[00:01:23] Greatness of Sadguru Sai.

[00:01:30] We prostrate ourselves before and take refuge in that Sai Samartha, who besets all

[00:01:38] animate and inanimate things in the universe, who prevents all creatures equally without any

[00:01:45] differentiation, to whom all devotees are alike and who knows not honor and dishonor like

[00:01:53] or dislike. If you remember him and surrender to him, he fulfills all our wishes and makes

[00:01:59] us attain the goal of life. This ocean of mundane existence is very hard to cross, waves

[00:02:06] of attachment beat high against the bank of bad thoughts and breakdown trees of fortitude.

[00:02:13] The breeze of egoism blows with force and makes the ocean rough and agitated. Crocodiles

[00:02:20] in the form of anger and hatred move there fearlessly. It is in the form of the idea, eye

[00:02:27] and mind and other doubts whirl their insincently and innumerable fishes in the form of censure,

[00:02:35] hate and jealousy play there. Though this ocean is so fierce and terrible, Sadguru Sai

[00:02:43] is its agastity that is destroyer and the devotees of Sai have the least fear of it.

[00:02:50] Our Sadguru is the boat which will safely take us across this ocean.

[00:03:05] Now we fall before Sai Baba and holding his feet make the falling prayer for the public.

[00:03:12] Let not our mind wander and desire anything except deep. Let this work, Sai Satchritra be

[00:03:20] in every house and let it be studied daily. Let it ward off the calamities of those who

[00:03:26] study it regularly with reverence.

[00:03:35] Now a few words about the reward you get from this work. After bathing in the sacred

[00:03:46] godavari and after taking the darshan of the samadhi in the samadhi mandiracharya, you should

[00:03:52] read or hear the Sai Satchritra. If you do this all your threefold affiliations will vanish.

[00:04:00] Casually thinking about the stories of Sai, you will get interested in spiritual life.

[00:04:06] And if you go through it with love and reverence all your sins will be destroyed.

[00:04:11] If you wish to get rid of the cycle of births and debts, read Sai stories and remember him

[00:04:18] always and get yourself devoted to his feet. If you dive into the sea of Sai stories

[00:04:25] and then give them out to others, you will get an ever new flavor of them and save the

[00:04:31] heroes from future misery. If you go on meditating on Sai's form it will in course of time lead

[00:04:38] you into self-realization. It is very hard to know or realize the nature of Self of Brahma

[00:04:45] but if you approach through the Sagar Brahma that is Sai's form your progress will be easy.

[00:04:53] If the devotee completely surrenders himself to him, he will lose his individual ego and

[00:04:59] be merged in Baba and be one with him. As the river becomes one with the sea.

[00:05:05] If you thus become merged with him in any of the three states that is waking, dream

[00:05:12] and sleep, you get rid of the bond of Sansaar. If anybody after being reads this with love

[00:05:18] and faith and completes it within a week, his calamities will disappear and if he hears or reads

[00:05:24] it daily and regularly all his dangers will be warded off. He will get the reward according

[00:05:31] to his faith and devotion. Without these there will be no experience of any kind. If you read

[00:05:36] this with reverence Sai will be pleased and by removing your ignorance and poverty will give

[00:05:42] you knowledge, wealth and prosperity. With concentrated mind if you read a chapter daily

[00:05:48] it will give you unbounded happiness. One who has his own welfare at heart should study

[00:05:55] it carefully and then he will ever remember Sai gratefully and joyfully birth after birth.

[00:06:01] This work should be read at home specially on Guru Purnima that is ashaad full moon day,

[00:06:08] Gokulashthami, Ramnaomi and Dashara, Baba's Puneetitya. If you study this one book carefully

[00:06:16] all your desires will be satisfied and if you always remember Sai's feet in your heart

[00:06:22] you will easily cross the bhava that is worldly illusion, sagaar. By its study the deceased

[00:06:30] and the sick will get health, the poor wealth, the mere and the afflicted the prosperity

[00:06:36] and the mind will get rid of all futile ideas and get steadiness. Dear Devoted readers

[00:06:44] and listeners we also bow to you all and make you a special request never forget him whose

[00:06:51] stories you have read day by day or month by month. The more fervently you read or listen

[00:06:58] to these stories the more encouragement Sai gives us to serve you and be of use to you.

[00:07:06] Both the author and the readers must cooperate in this work, help each other and be happy.
