[00:00:54] Lucky Land Casino asking people what's the weirdest place you've gotten lucky?

[00:01:05] Yes, you do. In the car before my kids PTA meeting. Really? Yes. Excuse me. What's the weirdest place you've gotten lucky?

[00:01:25] One hit is all you need to make the money guaranteed and you can live off royalties forever

[00:01:36] And it makes me wonder. Is it just a wonder? Or is it one hit thunder?

[00:01:46] Chris, happy post Super Bowl Monday.

[00:01:50] That is today. The Super Bowl was yesterday, Matt. I know you were really excited about the game right?

[00:01:56] You know what? I am a person who watches things for the communal pop culture aspect of it all.

[00:02:04] But hey man, I like seeing historic moments and like this was the second ever Super Bowl to go into overtime.

[00:02:12] First one ever. Second. It was the second one.

[00:02:16] Patriots in Atlanta Falcons went into overtime a couple years ago. Really? Am I wrong about this?

[00:02:24] Yeah, they even said it on the broadcast only the second time the Super Bowl has ever gone into overtime.

[00:02:29] Wow okay. I was wrong. Yeah you're right. Wow. Okay. I was wrong.

[00:02:37] I thought the whole time like Super Bowl has never gone to overtime.

[00:02:40] I guess I was just thinking about you know decades of them saying that. I guess I forgot that happened.

[00:02:46] Okay, all right. Hey you're proving me. You're proving to be the real sports aficionado here, Matt. I'm impressed.

[00:02:53] And also I think we saw like a record breaking field goal kick distance wise.

[00:03:00] So you know there were some historic things that happened and I don't know how I felt about it.

[00:03:04] You watch more football than me. To me I thought that this was a very boring game until the fourth quarter.

[00:03:08] Yeah it was a really bad game but then it ended up being an amazing game by the end.

[00:03:12] Went to OT and then you know the dramatic end to it. Our friend and many time guest on One Hit Thunder, Johnny was at the game

[00:03:22] and he has a video from his phone. He's like right behind where the game winning touchdown was thrown.

[00:03:29] He has a video of his phone of it. That's amazing.

[00:03:32] My weird Super Bowl connection is if you go on the horror movie night website and you go into our store

[00:03:40] and look at like the t-shirt, like the models wearing the t-shirts that we have.

[00:03:45] My friend who took all those photos was the official photographer of the Super Bowl this year.

[00:03:51] They like flew her out and she ran like a whole team for all of the like sidelines photography this year.

[00:03:58] So from her humble beginnings taking photos for the horror movie night online store to be in Vegas for a week.

[00:04:07] I guess there's one other thing we'll talk about and then we'll dive into the music.

[00:04:10] I obviously do love watching the Super Bowl for the commercials. The commercials has really tanked over the last couple years.

[00:04:18] I am very over commercials telling me to watch a full movie trailer somewhere else.

[00:04:25] Like that was like half of the commercials but I wanted to see did you have a particularly favorite commercial?

[00:04:32] I thought there was only one truly great one for me.

[00:04:35] Let me start by saying I don't care about the commercials at all. I'd rather there were no commercials.

[00:04:42] I know that people that don't watch football all year come to it just for the halftime show in the commercials.

[00:04:48] Not throwing any shade at you Matt but I just want to watch the game. I hate the commercials.

[00:04:53] Most people I was kind of allowed environment so people were really talking over them.

[00:04:58] I did see them to a certain extent.

[00:05:00] I will say someone showed me before the game even started what I thought was the one really good Super Bowl commercial.

[00:05:08] That of course was the Michael Sarah Sarah V commercial. Did you see that?

[00:05:13] That was a pretty good one. I still think my favorite one was the Paramount Plus one with Creed.

[00:05:18] What about the Dunkin Donuts with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and Tom Brady. Did you see that one?

[00:05:26] That was fine. The other one that they played a couple times and I posted about it was the Arnold Schwarzenegger one

[00:05:32] that straight up is just stealing a bit from the Simpsons.

[00:05:36] The way he pronounces what?

[00:05:38] Yeah, neighbor.

[00:05:40] And I was like this is no and I'm like this is funnier in the Simpsons when they're trying to teach like the Arnold Schwarzenegger actor to say up and at them.

[00:05:49] Up and at them.

[00:05:51] Up and at them.

[00:05:53] Up and at them.

[00:05:54] Up and at them.

[00:05:56] Up and at them.

[00:06:00] So I wrote down that there's actually three musical things that we can very briefly talk about.

[00:06:05] We always get these celebrities singing America the Beautiful, Star Spangled Banner, Summer Good, Summer Bad.

[00:06:11] I feel like all in all, Post Malone and Reba McIntyre both did perfectly fine jobs with what they were supposed to go out there and do.

[00:06:19] No notes, no complaints. It was what it was.

[00:06:22] That was an allowed environment for both of those two.

[00:06:25] Yeah, I mean I like it.

[00:06:26] It seemed like they were performing well.

[00:06:28] Yeah, they did alright. They didn't do anything different.

[00:06:30] You know that I love America the Beautiful. No one's ever going to do a better version than Ray Charles, but it was pretty good.

[00:06:36] But yeah, we get to this halftime show.

[00:06:39] Usher comes out. I mean this is basically just like a giant advertisement for his tour that got advertised a whole bunch throughout the Super Bowl as well.

[00:06:47] And I'm curious what your thoughts are Chris because full transparency.

[00:06:52] I'm not like the world's biggest Usher guy.

[00:06:55] Like there were songs that came on that I'm like, oh I remember this but like if you asked me to name Usher songs I'd maybe only have.

[00:07:03] I don't think I could name five Usher songs with a gun to my head.

[00:07:07] I mean I argued a little bit last night that Usher has like five good songs.

[00:07:13] Yeah.

[00:07:14] That's about it.

[00:07:15] He played most of them.

[00:07:16] But my favorite Usher song, DJ God has fallen in love, he didn't play.

[00:07:22] I'm like, why? That seems like such a perfect song to play here.

[00:07:26] Now he did do Confessions part two.

[00:07:28] I know you love that one, right?

[00:07:30] It's a good one.

[00:07:31] Yeah.

[00:07:32] He played You Got It Bad.

[00:07:33] That's a good one.

[00:07:35] They did, I mean let's kind of go in order.

[00:07:39] He came out to caught up.

[00:07:40] You don't have to call superstar.

[00:07:42] They love in this club.

[00:07:43] That song's alright.

[00:07:44] I was, that's what my first note was.

[00:07:46] I was not into this at all until Love In This Club hit and I was like, alright this is pretty good.

[00:07:50] But you know what?

[00:07:51] I will say this right here, similar to how we described this football game.

[00:07:56] Kind of boring until the last act.

[00:07:59] Right.

[00:08:00] Yeah.

[00:08:01] I'm with you there.

[00:08:02] Then Alicia Keys, she did, they didn't got you.

[00:08:06] It's always good to see Alicia Keys.

[00:08:07] I thought that was pretty good.

[00:08:08] They did my boo together.

[00:08:10] Then her came out.

[00:08:12] They let her kind of pretend to play guitar for a while.

[00:08:15] I'm sure she actually rips it up, but I'm pretty sure that was pre-recorded.

[00:08:20] It's a thing that comes up every single Super Bowl and I feel like it's the non-musical people

[00:08:28] who get really upset and anyone who's a musician is like, do you realize how hard it is to

[00:08:34] get a good sound in an arena that big with just like a guitar?

[00:08:39] Of course you have to have that pre-recorded and pumping through a speaker.

[00:08:43] There's no other way to do it.

[00:08:44] It would be insane.

[00:08:45] Yeah.

[00:08:46] I wasn't saying that in like a bad way.

[00:08:48] No, no, no, because you're a musician so you know, but people will always bitch about that

[00:08:53] or when the redhead chili pepper showed up.

[00:08:55] Like, yeah, when you're in an arena, it's the same with like when you're watching the

[00:08:59] Macy's Day Parade.

[00:09:00] They're not going to have a band perform for real on a traveling float running down

[00:09:05] the streets of New York City.

[00:09:06] It's going to sound like ass.

[00:09:09] Well then, I will say the highlight was watching Usher and his dancers roller skate dance.

[00:09:18] Dude, the rollers skates were awesome.

[00:09:21] Like that was when I was like, okay, I'm starting to get into this.

[00:09:25] One of my notes though, and this Confessions part two is when this really clicked in for

[00:09:31] me, Usher was ripping through these songs so fast.

[00:09:36] It almost started to feel like a weird Alpaca.

[00:09:39] Like it felt like I barely had time to even register what song he was singing before he

[00:09:43] was already like moving into the next one.

[00:09:47] Like it was just so rapid fire.

[00:09:49] And I looked at some of the past, I guess that's how it's been for a couple of years

[00:09:54] now.

[00:09:55] Like I think the weekend maybe only did four songs and they really like played out

[00:10:00] those songs.

[00:10:01] But then like Rihanna I think had like 18 songs that she played during her half

[00:10:04] time show.

[00:10:05] So maybe it is just like, hey, let's we'll get the verse and a chorus and then like

[00:10:08] onto the next one.

[00:10:09] Let's keep moving.

[00:10:10] Some of them it wasn't even that much.

[00:10:13] Some of them confessions was like a chorus in the first line of a verse.

[00:10:17] Yeah, some of them were just the chorus for 20 seconds.

[00:10:21] It was a real medley for sure.

[00:10:24] Okay, I want to give Usher some more props.

[00:10:28] First of all, you know, minus the roller skating and dancing in general.

[00:10:33] The dude can dance.

[00:10:34] Let's not beat around the bush there.

[00:10:36] He is an amazing performer.

[00:10:39] If the performing is it like a nine?

[00:10:42] I would say the song catalog.

[00:10:44] Is it like a five or six?

[00:10:46] Probably he has some great songs and then a lot of like whatever songs.

[00:10:51] I want to give him some more credit though.

[00:10:54] The dude was sweaty as hell.

[00:10:56] And I love when a performer is sweating it up.

[00:10:59] I'm a sweaty guy.

[00:11:00] I'm a sweaty guy.

[00:11:01] I love when he's sweating.

[00:11:03] I don't know if it's because he's wearing a shirt or not.

[00:11:06] I don't know if it's because he's wearing a shirt or not.

[00:11:09] You're late to a performer who's going up there and giving it there.

[00:11:12] A lot of costume changes like a lot of costume changes in a short period

[00:11:16] of time.

[00:11:17] Some of them dumber than others.

[00:11:19] The the outfits that him and two of his guests were wearing at the end

[00:11:23] of the show.

[00:11:24] I was like, those look awful.

[00:11:26] Those look really bad.

[00:11:27] But yes, the last one.

[00:11:28] Yeah.

[00:11:29] I was like, I'm going to give you a little bit of an aside.

[00:11:32] But I was with a bunch of people and one commercial came on.

[00:11:35] It was Mr. T and everyone's like, wow, Mr. T looks great.

[00:11:38] And then we were, everyone was trying to guess how old is Mr. T?

[00:11:42] So in the spirit of props at the Super Bowl, I set the line at

[00:11:47] 71 and a half just off the top of my head.

[00:11:49] I went back and forth.

[00:11:50] I'm like, okay, over or under 71 and a half.

[00:11:53] Matt, what do you think Mr. T over or under 71 and a half?

[00:11:56] I already know the answer to this because I had a moment where I was

[00:11:59] like, didn't Mr. T die?

[00:12:01] And I went on his Wikipedia to confirm if he did or not.

[00:12:04] So he was born in 51, I think.

[00:12:06] So I'm going to say he's over 71 and a half.

[00:12:10] I think you're wrong on that because he's 71.

[00:12:14] Oh, he's 71 on the dot.

[00:12:16] All right.

[00:12:17] Yeah.

[00:12:18] Never mind.

[00:12:19] Yeah.

[00:12:20] Yeah.

[00:12:21] I set that line pretty good.

[00:12:22] Sure.

[00:12:23] Over or under 46 and a half.

[00:12:26] Under 46.

[00:12:29] I want to say that in the 90s, he started to pop off and he was in his

[00:12:34] late teens early 20s.

[00:12:35] I'm going to say he's just over 46.

[00:12:38] Like in his high 40s.

[00:12:40] Ah, that's that one's under.

[00:12:42] He's 45.

[00:12:43] Really?

[00:12:44] Yeah.

[00:12:45] Man, his career popped off when he was younger than I think I

[00:12:48] realized because he's got to be close to 30 years of performing.

[00:12:51] Yeah.

[00:12:52] I think he's he really when he was like set in records, it was

[00:12:56] like 04 or so.

[00:12:58] So from the time of recording this about 20 years ago.

[00:13:01] So yeah, I mean, he looks great performs great.

[00:13:05] He looks almost the same as he did 20 years ago to a certain

[00:13:08] extent.

[00:13:09] Yeah.

[00:13:10] But but yeah, so back to the set.

[00:13:13] Her plays the guitar solo.

[00:13:14] We get the roller skating.

[00:13:15] We get into confessions part two nice and slow burn.

[00:13:18] These are just like rapid fire hitting us.

[00:13:21] Bad girl, you got it bad.

[00:13:24] OMG.

[00:13:25] And then Chris, I did not know how happy I would be hearing

[00:13:29] little John prefer perform turned down for what, but it made

[00:13:33] like that moment alone made my night.

[00:13:36] And then I thought if this motherfucker doesn't bring out

[00:13:39] ludicrous, I'm going to be real upset.

[00:13:41] And then ludicrous comes out there probably one of the

[00:13:44] few rap verses that I still have just like locked in my brain.

[00:13:49] And I thought, you know what ludicrous should do a half

[00:13:52] time show one of these years because ludicrous has got hits

[00:13:55] for days.

[00:13:56] Here's what I'll say that song.

[00:14:00] Yeah, I'm just over it.

[00:14:03] I'm as over that song as could be that song is the most

[00:14:07] like generic.

[00:14:08] I walked into a bar that's too loud and there's a DJ

[00:14:11] playing the song and I just it goes in one ear and out the

[00:14:15] other like wallpaper just like baby got back or, you know,

[00:14:19] it's one of those songs where I'm like, oh yeah.

[00:14:22] I mean, I it's cool that little John and ludicrous were

[00:14:26] there and will I am?

[00:14:27] But I don't know the song.

[00:14:28] Don't do it for me.

[00:14:29] My I think the thing that's interesting to me with

[00:14:32] the song.

[00:14:33] Yeah, I've always kind of enjoyed the song.

[00:14:34] Yeah.

[00:14:35] I think usher is the least impressive part of the

[00:14:37] song.

[00:14:38] Yeah.

[00:14:39] I think it's a great song for any R&B singer and that

[00:14:42] song's a hit because it's got that like really catchy

[00:14:45] beat in the background that doot, doot, doot, doot,

[00:14:48] beat.

[00:14:49] You got little John doing the yeah scream over it and

[00:14:52] then I mean the standout part of that song is ludicrous

[00:14:55] is wrapped ludicrous is wrapped and that is

[00:14:57] fantastic.

[00:14:58] I ended up writing down it ended better than it

[00:15:02] started.

[00:15:03] I would say it was a very good but not great

[00:15:06] halftime show.

[00:15:07] I'm not sure if it's the top five probably in the

[00:15:10] lower end of the top 10 of halftime performances

[00:15:13] I've watched.

[00:15:14] I've seen some bad ones but it's yeah.

[00:15:17] Was it better than Rihanna?

[00:15:20] No, no.

[00:15:21] I would put Rihanna above this.

[00:15:23] I would definitely put the like giant hip hop

[00:15:26] collective.

[00:15:27] Oh yeah.

[00:15:28] Halftime above this.

[00:15:29] Obviously Prince is like firmly locked in the

[00:15:32] number one position.

[00:15:33] How about Katy Perry?

[00:15:35] I would say it's better Katy Perry is too much

[00:15:38] beyond left shark.

[00:15:39] So I'll say it was below it's above Katy Perry.

[00:15:42] I think I would say I would say Katy Perry's

[00:15:45] was better.

[00:15:46] You know why?

[00:15:47] I think when I watched hers, I'm like damn she has

[00:15:50] a lot of good songs.

[00:15:51] Yeah, that's true.

[00:15:52] And I didn't really feel that way as much with

[00:15:54] this.

[00:15:55] No, that's fair.

[00:15:56] That's fair.

[00:15:57] Yeah.

[00:15:58] Lady Gaga I would put over this.

[00:16:00] I think Lady Gaga had a killer halftime show.

[00:16:03] I think it was a good one.

[00:16:04] I think it was a good one.

[00:16:05] I think it was a good one.

[00:16:06] I think it was a good one because I don't like

[00:16:09] Lady Gaga songs that much.

[00:16:10] Hello, it is Ryan and I was on a flight the other

[00:16:13] day playing one of my favorite social spin slot

[00:16:19] You know what they were doing?

[00:16:20] They're also playing Chumba Casino.

[00:16:22] Coincidence?

[00:17:21] So who's it going to be next year?

[00:17:23] Who's left?

[00:17:24] Who can do this and keep in mind?

[00:17:27] Okay, what's the generic answer that you would say?

[00:17:30] You would say Taylor Swift, but Taylor Swift doesn't

[00:17:32] really need to do this.

[00:17:34] No, like I so it's the problem is a every single

[00:17:39] year there's the petition for Weird Owl.

[00:17:41] And you know I love Weird Owl.

[00:17:42] I don't want Weird Owl doing no half time show.

[00:17:44] It ain't going to be Weird Owl ever.

[00:17:46] It's never going to happen.

[00:17:47] It's not believable.

[00:17:48] It leans a lot into pop.

[00:17:50] If there was ever a chance that they would do

[00:17:52] another rock band because they had done rock bands

[00:17:54] maybe 10 years ago, I'll tell you who I think

[00:17:57] would put on a killer half time show is the

[00:17:59] Foo Fighters.

[00:18:01] I think they have a ton of great hits.

[00:18:03] I think they have a good stage show.

[00:18:05] I think that it would be something that everybody

[00:18:07] kind of enjoys because they have like that

[00:18:09] multi-generational appeal, but I'm also aware

[00:18:13] it's not going to be the Foo Fighters.

[00:18:15] I think that's actually a pretty good guess

[00:18:18] as to who would be.

[00:18:19] Everybody would like it.

[00:18:20] It would be rockin'.

[00:18:21] I mean they had cold play do it.

[00:18:23] That was one of the worst ever, but like...

[00:18:25] Yeah, and I like cold play, but that is not...

[00:18:27] I don't think that someone posted a thing

[00:18:29] that I laughed at where they said,

[00:18:30] I don't think R&B is the correct vibe

[00:18:32] for a Super Bowl half time show.

[00:18:34] I don't agree with that though.

[00:18:37] Because dancing is such a big...

[00:18:39] Think about Beyonce.

[00:18:40] She's an amazing half time show.

[00:18:43] I do think that R&B is...

[00:18:45] R&B or more on the dance side of R&B

[00:18:49] because you want the big theatrical show.

[00:18:53] I think that they should, in a similar vein

[00:18:56] to when they did the hip hop throwback,

[00:18:59] give us just like a 90s pop throwback.

[00:19:02] You know what I mean?

[00:19:03] Bring out boys to men.

[00:19:04] Bring out like all these 90s groups

[00:19:07] that have songs for days

[00:19:09] and similar to how that hip hop one was

[00:19:11] where it's like each artist comes out

[00:19:12] and does maybe two songs

[00:19:13] and the next dude is out there doing their thing.

[00:19:15] Load it up or hire us

[00:19:17] and we'll just do a one hit thunder.

[00:19:20] We'll just be all of our favorite one hit wonders.

[00:19:22] You know, Gerardo will come out there.

[00:19:24] Nine days will come out after them.

[00:19:27] Weedus will close it out with Teenage Drapack.

[00:19:30] And was...

[00:19:31] Now correct me if I'm wrong,

[00:19:32] I saw the commercial that nine days were in a commercial

[00:19:35] for traveling to South Dakota

[00:19:37] like South Dakota tourism.

[00:19:38] But I didn't see the commercial air on the Super Bowl, did it?

[00:19:42] I wonder if that was one of the regional ones.

[00:19:45] Cause you know how like there's the big...

[00:19:48] Listen, I love John.

[00:19:50] I love nine days.

[00:19:52] I think South Dakota is apparently not that bad of a state

[00:19:55] but I don't think that the South Dakota board

[00:19:58] is willing to pay like $100 million

[00:20:00] quite the way that people that just want you to read the Bible

[00:20:03] are willing to pay hundreds of millions of dollars

[00:20:07] to have a Jesus commercial on the Super Bowl.

[00:20:11] There were a couple of them.

[00:20:12] I feel like those commercials have been on the Super Bowl

[00:20:15] for years and years.

[00:20:16] I don't think that's like a new thing.

[00:20:18] I know, I think it's just a thing that happens

[00:20:20] every single time.

[00:20:21] We're like, I saw people talking about it where they're like

[00:20:23] if you're willing to spend $100 million

[00:20:26] to just put a commercial on the Super Bowl

[00:20:29] about Jesus, you didn't read the right book.

[00:20:31] Like allocate that shit to like fixing housing

[00:20:35] for people in bad communities and like famine.

[00:20:38] Like there's so many better things.

[00:20:40] If you have that much money to spend

[00:20:42] and you're trying to do like do something religious

[00:20:46] maybe like help the less fortunate.

[00:20:48] Hold on.

[00:20:49] Now far be it from me to defend religion

[00:20:52] but I was a kind of impressed

[00:20:57] that it seemed the message was like,

[00:20:59] hey Jesus isn't about hate here.

[00:21:01] You know what I mean?

[00:21:02] Like no, I mean, I'm fine with that too.

[00:21:04] I'm just saying you could also get that message

[00:21:06] by doing good things.

[00:21:07] Well true but wouldn't the argument

[00:21:09] that a person from whatever sect of religion that was

[00:21:13] I mean, I guess was it just Christianity in general?

[00:21:16] Like who was what church was that?

[00:21:19] That was just like Jesus or whatever.

[00:21:22] It's the conundrum I would say with,

[00:21:24] you know to give a slight spoiler alert for a future episode

[00:21:27] but I mean the documentaries on Netflix

[00:21:29] it's the same as the conundrum of like when a bunch

[00:21:33] of rich and famous artists record a song to raise money

[00:21:38] for a cause.

[00:21:39] Like the intentions are always good

[00:21:41] and I appreciate that

[00:21:42] but you're also sitting there being like,

[00:21:43] yeah but you also have enough money

[00:21:45] to just send the money to where the problem is

[00:21:48] at the same time.

[00:21:50] Like it's that double-edged sword.

[00:21:52] I think I saw that it's $7 million

[00:21:55] and that they got two commercials.

[00:21:58] I think that's the, I think I saw 14 million thrown around

[00:22:01] but wouldn't the argument be from whoever's putting this together

[00:22:05] like, well yeah we spent 14 million

[00:22:07] but we're getting this message out

[00:22:09] that's gonna result in 10 times that.

[00:22:12] Doesn't somebody had to figure out the math?

[00:22:14] Yeah, I'd love to see how much it's

[00:22:17] so past guest John Franklin has a joke

[00:22:21] on his stand-up special that is perfect for right now

[00:22:24] but it's about how the NFL had the end racism stuff

[00:22:28] behind the goalposts this year

[00:22:31] and he's like, what racist in Louisiana

[00:22:34] is watching football and is just like,

[00:22:37] honey take the flags down.

[00:22:40] Like it's like yeah I mean it's a good decision

[00:22:44] but I always question how many people are being,

[00:22:49] who's converting to Christianity

[00:22:51] and giving a bunch of money to a good cause

[00:22:53] because a commercial played on the Super Bowl.

[00:22:56] Yeah, I mean you could probably make that argument about anything.

[00:23:00] Who's buying, I saw Eric Andre was in a,

[00:23:04] what was it the ice cream bar commercials?

[00:23:08] Like are they gonna sell $7 million more

[00:23:12] of these ice cream bars because of this commercial?

[00:23:15] Probably not, but at least with food I can understand

[00:23:18] because I know that this has happened to me a bunch

[00:23:21] where you're just like, you could be the fullest

[00:23:24] you've ever been and you're watching a TV show

[00:23:27] and they're eating something that looks absolutely delicious

[00:23:30] and you're just like, I kinda want to order a pizza right now.

[00:23:34] I will tell you that I snacked hard during the Super Bowl.

[00:23:38] I did it, I had a bowl of soup,

[00:23:41] it was just me by myself so I had a bowl of soup.

[00:23:45] Dude, I was killing these drinks that are two-turned Tony's drinks.

[00:23:51] Two-turned Tony like ice teas that were pretty good

[00:23:55] and Marquette made a veggie pizza which you know was incredible.

[00:24:01] I probably had like 10 pieces of that.

[00:24:03] Hey, last thing here,

[00:24:07] Usher, we both think it was pretty good.

[00:24:09] Commercials are pretty whack.

[00:24:11] In general, it was a Super Bowl.

[00:24:13] It started out slow, ended pretty great.

[00:24:16] But one thing I do want to talk to you, sports related Matt,

[00:24:19] you know you're watching like an insane quarterback

[00:24:23] in Patrick Mahomes, right?

[00:24:24] Did you realize that as an unsports fan?

[00:24:26] You have to realize you're kind of looking at a guy

[00:24:28] that's starting to mention his name in the same breath.

[00:24:31] Obviously it's Tom Brady but also Michael Jordan

[00:24:34] and like you know one of the greatest athletes ever.

[00:24:37] What's crazy about it is I know you don't watch football Matt

[00:24:39] but what you got to know is the guy who watched every,

[00:24:41] pretty much every game of every team of the NFL season this past season.

[00:24:45] The Kansas City Chiefs, they're not that good.

[00:24:48] Honestly like they had a nice run in the playoffs

[00:24:51] but what he singularly did to lead them to a championship

[00:24:57] is insane because that team was pretty on the mediocre side of good

[00:25:02] and they somehow still won the Super Bowl.

[00:25:05] It was pretty crazy.

[00:25:06] So obviously I saw a bunch of discourse on stuff like this

[00:25:09] and I did see someone say along the lines of like

[00:25:14] with how young Mahomes still is like he is almost guaranteed

[00:25:18] to become in the same vein as like a Tom Brady

[00:25:21] where it's just like this dude is just going to be

[00:25:23] that winning-est quarterback that like just takes his team

[00:25:28] to the big game like nine times out of ten

[00:25:31] for the entirety of his career as long as he like protects himself

[00:25:35] and keeps himself healthy and doesn't you know get like a

[00:25:38] career-ending injury like he's going to be like I get it that

[00:25:42] we're watching one of the greats which is why I think it's so funny

[00:25:47] that there are still people that are like that game was rigged last night

[00:25:51] and I was like I don't even, the dumbest argument ever

[00:25:54] because a team that's gone four one four out of five of the last Super Bowls

[00:25:59] is a rigged game like I just to me as someone who doesn't follow sports

[00:26:05] who doesn't really know sports I didn't even see anything where I'm like

[00:26:08] oh that's a bad ref call like there was it actually seemed like

[00:26:11] it was a pretty uncontroversial game across the board.

[00:26:16] Also if you're going to make that argument in that overtime

[00:26:20] it was third down and the 49ers had a play where I was like

[00:26:26] oh shit they got a they got a punt now but they called a penalty

[00:26:30] and gave them a first down if anything it would if you're going to argue

[00:26:34] that all it's fixed or whatever I mean it was fixed in the favor of the 49ers

[00:26:38] yeah once yeah I don't know I thought it was a pretty good game

[00:26:43] I can't believe we haven't even I guess we talked about her being like a

[00:26:47] half-time performer but the Taylor Swift stuff whatever like of course

[00:26:51] they're psyched she's like the most famous person in the world of course

[00:26:54] and also she's surrounded by famous people that's true it's like she's there with Ice Spice

[00:26:58] and Alana Del Rey like of course you're going to cut to that box why wouldn't you cut to that box

[00:27:03] I want to know how and why are Taylor Swift

[00:27:07] and Ice Spice such good friends that they're always together now

[00:27:11] I only say that because Ice Spice is just in like the last year or two got really huge

[00:27:17] and now she's friends with her but doesn't Taylor Swift have some like friends from high school

[00:27:22] probably not but I actually don't think she does

[00:27:26] just because knowing I mean like she didn't grow up too far from where I'm at

[00:27:32] like so she used to sing National Anthem a lot of Phillies games like she was in this general area

[00:27:38] but from what I understand like even before she started to blow up like

[00:27:44] she was kind of already doing the like travel life

[00:27:48] I don't think she had a normal go-to-school and make friends relationship

[00:27:53] I think that she was I think she was learning from tutors on the road and like trying to like

[00:27:58] because I think our first album she was like 16 or 17 like I think she was really young

[00:28:02] when all that popped off my guess is that Ice Spice shows up on her new album somewhere

[00:28:07] okay well whatever I'm just saying not Ice Spice in particular Lana Del Rey

[00:28:12] whoever it's just there's always there's always like other famous people and if I was like

[00:28:17] her longtime friend that just happens to not be a musician I'd be sitting at home being like

[00:28:21] why didn't Taylor take me to the Super Bowl?

[00:28:24] Yeah, 100%

[00:28:25] Yeah I don't know

[00:28:26] Just a thought

[00:28:27] Who knows

[00:28:28] Or maybe maybe there was a row in front of her that was all over her friends from high school

[00:28:32] and the cameras just never cut to her

[00:28:34] or I guess I should think about this more logically is that tickets are insanely expensive for this thing

[00:28:42] so maybe those other people bought their own tickets because they can afford to buy a box seat at the Super Bowl or something

[00:28:50] so maybe that's part of it too

[00:28:52] Yeah I think even on the lower end the tickets were like three to four grand

[00:28:55] like I couldn't justify and that's just for the to get in the door

[00:29:00] then factor in like flights a place to stay for the night like it's a pricey little trip

[00:29:07] but we'll be back with a regular episode of One Hit Thunder later on

[00:29:12] you know what Chris? I think it's time for a draft

[00:29:15] I think on this Wednesday maybe instead of a regular episode we'll toss a draft to the listeners

[00:29:22] I only got one thing to say about that

[00:29:24] Yeah

[00:29:29] Is little John here what happened?
