[00:00:00] Hello and welcome to Do I Like It, Ashoj Khan, harbathwa, and this episode we will talk about the claims, scam series on Sony Live which is getting a third installment with scan 2010

[00:00:12] Today, we have a lot of news about this announcement and everything else under the sun, I have some thoughts

[00:00:18] Now, they are here

[00:00:19] As for the content of the show, we know absolutely nothing

[00:00:22] Except the fact that it is about Subrath Roy, the chairman of the Sahara group and his investor fraud case

[00:00:28] So, there is something to say about this show, but I want to talk about larger picture

[00:00:35] Because, after 2000, the scam 2019 was a watershed moment for the Indian OTT revolution

[00:00:42] Randomic full force was very well used to the fact that he had a very bad game

[00:00:48] And so many people got home to the web series drug at that time

[00:00:52] People like me, in general, had a few web series, they were watching the video and we introduced them

[00:00:57] He was kind of bored with the usual crime drama, formulaic, web series format

[00:01:02] Same old sacred games, Mirzapur and as my mom says, Marathara valueshives

[00:01:07] But, Hansal Netas, scam 1992 was a breath of fresh air for me and the new people who were being introduced to the streaming

[00:01:14] Like, first time seeing Indian series, a quantum mix was interesting

[00:01:18] A financial thriller in the true essence

[00:01:21] And it even gave a ease of life to the platform it was streaming on

[00:01:24] I had a Sony Live version of the first streaming services I knew of

[00:01:28] Much before Netflix had come to India, before Amazon Prime was even a thing

[00:01:32] MirzaPasik Sony's phone thaw was preloaded by the Sony Live

[00:01:35] And it was also a sports service that I had to talk about in the past few years

[00:01:40] With two shows, scam 1992 and Gulak, the platform got the respect that was earlier reserved for the Netflix's enthring of the world

[00:01:48] Pratigandhi who was seen as a regional Gujarati actor is now a streaming star

[00:01:52] Hansal Maita who had a rensons with films like Shaheer Than Aliyear

[00:01:56] Solidified himself as a bankable director

[00:01:58] And after some duds like the Indian Office adaptation, scam was a 6-year even for applause entity in the production company that made the show

[00:02:05] So, NetNet in all senses of the world, scam 1992 was a success

[00:02:10] But just like it happens with anything that becomes successful, we didn't know where to stop

[00:02:15] In September last year Sony Live released scam 2003 based on the Abdul Teilgeestam papers

[00:02:20] And now this scam 2010

[00:02:23] Now, I don't have an issue with this in principle for anyone

[00:02:27] It will be a no brainer to cash in on a hit property like scam

[00:02:30] At least, it is a brainless ritual sequel that is still better than the same

[00:02:35] Still some semblance of cohesiveness in the themes

[00:02:37] But here there are only so many ways you can tell the story of a scam

[00:02:42] And there are only so many stories you can fit in this template of the first scam show

[00:02:46] If the scam 2003 is a visual language, it is a world-building thing that I had done in the first time

[00:02:51] But from the music to even the colour palette, it reminds you of 1992

[00:02:56] And as this scam 2003 is a big issue

[00:02:59] But it wasn't the phenomenon that the first season was

[00:03:04] And besides this layer, it wasn't a new thing

[00:03:07] A franchise by design is supposed to remind you of each other

[00:03:12] When Donald Chaya was in New York, he would not be in the franchise

[00:03:16] So, the scam 2003 was also a big issue

[00:03:19] When I saw the first season, it was a very crucial story of a world-building, solid performances

[00:03:25] Amazing storytelling

[00:03:26] But with 2003, the makers didn't top anything they hadn't done previously

[00:03:30] And by virtue of it being the second time something was being done

[00:03:33] The further around it was much less

[00:03:36] And now, it's scam 2010

[00:03:38] I doubt there would be much difference in this one

[00:03:41] Music cuties are very iconic

[00:03:43] While I was there, it was same same scene

[00:03:45] I would appreciate it this franchise with all the crazy scenes

[00:03:48] Had a totally different tone, different genre

[00:03:51] And look at how much it can be done

[00:03:53] And now, it's a mere historical reason for this

[00:03:54] And the first season was in 1992,

[00:04:00] F2 2003 and 2010

[00:04:03] So if this franchise is going to be a thing,

[00:04:06] The next scam is going to be bigger and more

[00:04:09] You know Vijay, Malaya, Nira Modi, Satyam, 2G etc

[00:04:13] But it's a two-problems career

[00:04:15] A specific scam is a specific way to get a basic beat

[00:04:20] Aadmi who thinks again, the tide, exploits a loophole in the system

[00:04:24] The initial rise, the moment where the scammer doesn't know when to stop

[00:04:28] The people from within the system who held this scammer, all of those beats we know

[00:04:33] In 1992, 2003 or 2010, the distinction between time and world building

[00:04:38] It's been in 1992, in 2003, in Mumbai, in India

[00:04:42] It's been a long time since the internet, it's been a long time since the internet

[00:04:45] But as we are now getting recent timelines

[00:04:49] So this is so amazing, at least visually

[00:04:52] All technologies have plateaued when it comes to their design language

[00:04:55] In 1992 or 2003, same Farak 2.4.2.2.2.2.

[00:05:00] So those are chopis, the peat, head on the sali

[00:05:03] So again, it would be a hard task balancing all of this while staying true to the ethos of the scam universe

[00:05:09] And secondly, every scam has someone on the inside who is in the hood with this scammer

[00:05:14] To help him get around the system

[00:05:16] Like in 1992, we saw the track of Hershya being in communication with the prime minister, P.V.N.R.

[00:05:22] So Chavayak is going so high, but this is such a joyous, it does make for great drama

[00:05:28] But what today is a writer who is working with his scammer, he will take the same thing

[00:05:35] I don't have the answer to this but something to think about, maybe

[00:05:38] But you are all said and none, everything is going wrong with this franchise

[00:05:42] One thing that definitely goes in favor is that these seasons are based on already existing books

[00:05:48] And they make sure that the research and timelines are on-poled

[00:05:52] And obviously these books were written by financial experts, so they are in rock solid research

[00:05:56] And I am sure that's how it is working

[00:05:58] For all its flaws, scam 2003 still managed to grip you enough and take you through the stamp papers

[00:06:03] Scam, if you have a layman understanding that this scam was worth it, it's a perfect show to watch

[00:06:09] And I am expecting nothing less from 2010

[00:06:12] I really like this culture of adapting books into cinema

[00:06:15] The West had mastered it with films like Fight Club and Forrest Gump

[00:06:18] And it's high time we too get to see some amazing Indian stories told on screen

[00:06:22] Also the scams series are introduced to insanely talented leaders actors to the mainstream

[00:06:27] Prathik Gandhi and Ganga Devriyaar

[00:06:29] And I cannot wait to see who plays so Braturai

[00:06:32] And even more who plays the supporting cast

[00:06:35] One thing going right with this season would be that a lot of the people around

[00:06:39] So Braturai would be people in the public eye

[00:06:41] So it's interesting to see that Iconic Sahara Indiani have a leisure scene

[00:06:47] So all of this iconography would be very fun to watch in the show

[00:06:51] Obviously it goes without saying, Hunsel Mahatai is back on the director's chair

[00:06:54] So go to exciting hang

[00:06:56] But he has dude I am kind of more scared than I'm excited for this season

[00:07:00] Because there is enough to be excited about but there's also enough to be scared about

[00:07:04] So yes these were my thoughts on the scams franchise

[00:07:07] I think the series really needs to find some work around these issues

[00:07:11] To make a solid body of work that can come with new seasons year after year

[00:07:15] Because if I don't get the scams in India, I won't let it go

[00:07:18] So show it on me.

[00:07:19] You tell me what your thoughts of the teaser are you excited for the show

[00:07:23] And what are your thoughts about this general trend of making everything into franchise

[00:07:27] As always the conversation continues in the comments below

[00:07:30] This was Pratik and I'll see you in the next one
