[00:02:07] Researchers announced on Thursday that AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine developed with Oxford

[00:02:12] University increases the risk of a rare but very serious blood clotting disorder called

[00:02:16] VITT.

[00:02:18] This condition, which appeared with the adenovirus-vector-based Oxford AstraZeneca

[00:02:22] vaccine, known as Covishield in India, emerged due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.

[00:02:28] Researchers discovered that VITT is caused by dangerous blood autoantibody targeting

[00:02:32] a protein called pletid factor 4.

[00:02:35] In 2023, scientists from Canada, North America, Germany and Italy found a similar disorder

[00:02:40] with the same PFO antibody, which was fatal in some cases after a natural adenovirus

[00:02:45] infection.

[00:02:49] The iconic Sunil Chaitri on Thursday announced his decision to retire from international

[00:02:53] football after FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Kuwait on June 6, bringing the

[00:02:57] curtains down on a career that is unparalleled in Indian football for its longevity and

[00:03:02] consistency.

[00:03:03] The long-serving national team captain announced his decision via video he posted on his

[00:03:07] social media accounts.

[00:03:09] Chaitri, who made his debut in 2005, has scored 94 goals for the country.

[00:03:14] He will leave the scene as India's all-time top scorer and most capped player.

[00:03:18] Chaitri's final match will be played at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata and

[00:03:22] it is appropriate that he will end his journey in a city where he has played a lot of his

[00:03:26] football while evolving into a potent striker.

[00:03:31] Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico was in a very serious but stable condition on

[00:03:35] Thursday, a hospital official said after he was shot five times in an assassination

[00:03:43] The shooting was the first major assassination attempt on a European political leader

[00:04:13] The doctor operated on the tongue of four-year-old girls without the parents'

[00:04:16] consent instead of surgically removing the sixth finger of the child.

[00:04:21] The girl was admitted to the hospital for the removal of the additional finger on

[00:04:25] her hand.

[00:04:26] According to the hospital superintendent, the surgeon who entered the operation

[00:04:29] theatre for the surgery realised that the child had a medical condition called

[00:04:32] tongue-tie.

[00:04:33] Following this diagnosis, the doctor decided to operate on the girl's tongue

[00:04:37] before proceeding with the scheduled surgery.

[00:04:40] But the parents' consent was not taken before operating on the child.
