[00:00:03] Welcome to Creative Reset for Tech Minds. I am Coach Sonal Chauhan and wishing you a very happy Teacher's Day. Today I want to talk about something many professionals feel but rarely say out loud. AI is changing the way we work. But what happens when AI makes you question your own value?
[00:00:29] Take a moment and think about this. You have spent 10, 15, maybe 20 years becoming really good at your work. You learned programmings, you solved difficult problems in the past and you handled production issues. You mentored people, you built many systems and your experience became your strength.
[00:00:58] And then suddenly AI arrives. Suddenly a machine can write code in seconds. It can analyze information. It can create reports. It can help solve problems that wants to cause. And somewhere inside a quiet question can appear. If a machine can do what I spent years learning, what makes me valuable now?
[00:01:30] And that question is deeper than job security. It is about identity. For many high performers, their work is not just something they do. It becomes part of who they believe they are. I am a good developer. I am a strong architect. I am the person people call when something breaks.
[00:02:00] I am the expert. And so when technology changes the value of a particular skill, it can feel very personal. Your skill may be changing, but your mind can interpret that change as a loss of identity. And this is where I want you to pause. Your job title is one part of you. It is not the whole of you.
[00:02:29] And your ability to think is still yours. Your curiosity is still yours. Your ability to understand people is still yours. Your ability to create meaning is still yours. Your creativity is still yours. AI can produce an answer,
[00:02:55] but your value does not come only from producing answers. Your value also comes from questions you ask, the problems you choose to solve, the people you help and the experiences you bring, the way you see something that others do not see. And this is especially important for the experienced professionals.
[00:03:21] A beginner may see AI as a tool that helps them to learn faster. An experienced professional may see the same tool and think, is everything I worked for becoming less valuable? And that emotional response deserves attention. You do not have to fight it. You can listen to it. You can ask yourself three simple questions.
[00:03:51] What part of my work gives me a sense of meaning? What abilities do I have that go beyond my technical skills? What would I still love to create if nobody gave me a job title for it? What would I have that go beyond my job title? And these questions can help you to separate your identity from your role. And I want you to give you a small creative exercise. Take a sheet of paper
[00:04:21] and write your current job title in the center. Now draw a circle around it. Outside that circle, write five things that make you valuable beyond your job. It may be you are a patient painter. Maybe you are a problem solver.
[00:04:48] Maybe you are a parent who creates emotional safety at home. Maybe you are a curious. Maybe you love teaching. Maybe you love painting. Maybe you notice details that other people mostly miss. Keep writing. Do not try to make it impressive. Make it honest. Now look at the page.
[00:05:19] Your job title is only one small part of the picture. This is why I believe creativity matters so much during period of change. When you create something with your own hands, you experience a different kind of value. Nobody gives you a score. Nobody compares your painting with the AI generated image.
[00:05:48] Nobody asks whether your line is productive. You simply create. You make a choice. You see the result and you feel something. And that experience can remind you of something we often forget at work. You are more than what you produce. Your creativity is valuable even when your job becomes automated.
[00:06:18] AI can change your task. It can change your tools. It can change how we use our skills. It can also change the skills your company needs. But you still get to decide who you become through that change. So perhaps the better question is not, Will AI replace me? Perhaps the deeper question is,
[00:06:45] What part of me can I develop that no job title can define? And that question opens a different conversation. You can learn AI. You can improve your skills. You can stay relevant at work. And at the same time, You can build a stronger relationship with yourself. You can create, Reflect, Slow down,
[00:07:14] And you can discover interest That have nothing to do with your designation. This is where the creative practice can become powerful. It gives your mind a place Where performance is not a goal. Expression is a goal. And sometimes that small shift can change How you see yourself. So today, Before you close this episode, Take 5 minutes.
[00:07:45] Put your phone away And take a piece of paper And write this sentence. I am valuable beyond my job Because Complete it with 5 times. Do not edit your answers. Just write it. And then look at what you wrote. You may discover that your strongest qualities Were never listed on your resume.
[00:08:13] That is something worth noticing. If this episode connected with something you are experiencing, I invite you to join my masterclass Where we explore simple creative practices That can help you to slow down, Reconnect with yourself, And create more emotional balance During stressful periods. [00:09:10] Your role can change. The tools which you use can change. But your capacity to learn, Create, Care and grow is much bigger than your job title. Give that part of yourself some attention today. So bye for today. I wish you a very happy Teacher's Day again. And we will meet in our next episode. Bye-bye. Take care.
