[00:00:11] So here is a thing dear listeners, mom Guilt is something I have felt many times and I'm sure you have too It's that nagging feeling that creeps and when you leave expect it, making you question your every parent thing more
[00:00:26] Let me share a personal experience a few weeks ago, I had a work commitment that required me to leave my little one with a caregiver The moment I stepped out of the door, Guilt washed over me like a title wave
[00:00:38] I couldn't help but think I may have bad parents leaving my child It's moment like these that can make us feel like we are failing as parents but here is the truth
[00:00:50] We are not alone in this struggle and there are always ways to manage an even concoer mom Guilt To begin with, understand what mom Guilt really is It's that internal voice at questions whether you're doing enough for your child
[00:01:05] It can be triggered by a merit of things for not being there for every bedtime to occasionally resorting to screen time I remember a time when my little one had fallen down from chair while I was checking emails
[00:01:19] The Guilt was unbearable, I questioned whether I was neglecting my child because I was distracted These feelings are common and you're not alone Commentary goes of mom Guilt include not spending enough time with your child, not breastfeeding exclusively or relying on screens for entertainment
[00:01:39] Just last week I decided to take an afternoon for myself to recharge and do something I love The moment I sat down with a book, Guilt knocked on my door asking, should you be spending this time with your child?
[00:01:51] Yeah, so now let's talk about practical tips for managing mom Guilt Here is a tip I have found useful Practice self compassion, be kind to yourself, remind yourself that parenting is a journey filled with ups and downs No one is perfect and that includes you
[00:02:09] And can we overcome mom Guilt entirely? Well let me tell you there is no magic switch to make it disappear completely But over time, you can reduce it in fact And here are some additional tips to help you manage and reduce mom Guilt Number one, practice mindfulness
[00:02:28] Cultivate mindfulness by staying in the present moment Recognize when mom Guilt starts creeping in and consciously redirect your thoughts to the positive aspects of your parents Number two, set realistic expectations Understand that perfection is unmentingable Set realistic expectations for your self as a parent
[00:02:47] Recognizing that there will be good and challenging based Number three, prioritize self care Make self care a non-negotiable part of your routine Take a care of yourself, I love you to be the best parent who can be It's not selfish, it's essential Number four, delegate and seek help
[00:03:07] Don't hesitate to ask for help from your partner, family or friends Dental kit tasks and responsibilities and remember that it's okay to renew on your support network Number five, embrace imperfection This term that making mistakes is part of parenting
[00:03:24] Embrace imperfection as an opportunity for growth and learning both for you and your child Number six, keep a parenting journal This is so effective even I teach my students to maintain a parenting journal Where they can jot down their thoughts and feelings
[00:03:40] This can help you track patterns of good and identify your parenting triggers Number seven, stay informed Educate yourself about child development The more you know about what age appropriate and normal The less likely you ought to feel guilty about things that are entirely normal

[00:05:27] A picky eater to dry a new food or successfully soothing a foresee baby but celebrate each and every My stone and each and every achievement in your parenting journey Number twelve visualize your goals create a vision board or mental image of the parent you ask
[00:05:46] This can help you stay focused on your goals and reduce guilt when your face challenges As we wrap up today's episode remember that mom guilt is assigned the took care deeply for your child
