[00:00:04] Welcome to Creative Reset for Tech Minds. I am Coach Sonal Chauhan and this podcast is for professionals who want to perform well without losing themselves in the process. Let me start with the question. What if high performance in the future has less to do with working harder and more to do with knowing how to reset?
[00:00:30] Take a moment with that thought. For many years, we have connected success with long hours, quick decision making, constant learning and always being available. Especially in the tech area, this can become a way of life. You solve one problem, then another appears. You finish one project and then the next deadline starts.
[00:00:55] Your mind stays active most of the day and your body stays tired. And you keep continuing, but the workplace is changing. Tech is moving faster and AI is changing how we work. The skills that helped us to succeed yesterday may not be enough for tomorrow. The next generation of professionals will need something different.
[00:01:23] They will need to integrate creativity, recovery, reflection, technology and emotional intelligence. Not as a separate skills or activities, but as a part of the way they work and live. Think about creativity. Technology can give us answers faster. But creativity helps us to ask better questions.
[00:01:52] It helps us to see possibilities that the routine process may miss. Then there is a recovery. Recovery is not wasted time. Your brain needs periods of rest to process information and restore attention. Reflection. A tired mind can keep working, but it does not always think clearly. And then comes reflection.
[00:02:20] Reflection gives you space to notice what is happening inside you. You can ask, why am I feeling drained? What I am carrying that I have not expressed? Or what actually matters to me right now? And these questions can change the way you work. And there is emotional intelligence.
[00:02:46] You need it when you manage people. Or handle conflicts. Or you receive a difficult feedback. Or when pressure rises and you still need to make clear decisions. Technology can support your work, but it cannot replace your ability to understand yourself.
[00:03:17] That's where integration becomes important. We often create false choices. Performance versus well-being. Success versus peace. Technology versus creativity or productivity versus recovery. But you do not have to choose anything. You can build a career where these parts support each other.
[00:03:46] Let me give you a simple example. Imagine finishing a stressful work day. You come home. Your laptop closes, but your mind does not. You have two choices. You can carry the same mental pressure into the evening. Or you can create a small reset ritual. Which will just take a 10 minutes.
[00:04:15] Put your phone away and take a sheet of paper. Draw slow lines, use colors. And do not try to create beautiful art. Try this exercise next time and notice what happens inside you. You will notice your attention moves from the day's problems to the page. Your breathing may slow and your thoughts may become quieter.
[00:04:45] You may notice an emotion that you ignore during the day. And this small practice gives you something valuable. That is space. Space gives you a chance to choose your next response. Space gives you a chance to choose your next life. This is where creative practices becomes more than just painting. It becomes a way to pause. A way to reflect.
[00:05:15] A simple way to reconnect with yourself. Let me share one simple framework with you. I call it a 5 part creative reset. The first part is create. Give your mind something different from screens and problem solving. Part 2 is recovery.
[00:05:40] Give your body and mind time to come down from pressure. And then part 3 reflect. Notice what you are feeling and what you need. Part 4 is reconnect. Come back to your values, relationships and personal interest. And part 5 is return. Go back to your work with more clarity.
[00:06:10] These are the 5 parts. Create, recover, reflect, reconnect and return. This does not mean working less or caring less about results. It means building a healthier relationship with performance. You still have goals. You still want growth. You still want to do meaningful work.
[00:06:40] But your well-being becomes part of the system. Not something you repair after burnout. Pause here for a moment and think about your own work day. Where do creativity, recovery and reflection fit into your current routine? If your answer is almost nowhere, that gives you a useful reflection.
[00:07:09] You do not need to change your entire day today only. Just start with 10 minutes. Give yourself permission to pause. Pick up a pen. Draw a line and notice yourself, your breathing, your thought patterns. And then ask yourself one question. What does my mind need from me today?
[00:07:37] Listen to the answers. And that is the beginning of integration. The future of high performance will not belong only to the people who can work harder. It will belong to the people who can think clearly, recover well, adapt to technology, create new ideas, understand emotions and stay connected to what matters.
[00:08:05] You do not need to become a different person. You need to bring more parts of yourself into the way you work. And that is the kind of creative reset I teach. If you want to experience this process with me, you are welcome to join my creative reset masterclass.
[00:08:27] I will take you deeper into practical creative exercises that can help you to manage stress, reconnect with yourself and create more space for clarity. You can register for it by clicking the link below in the description box.
[00:09:03] Thank you so much for spending these minutes with me. Before you return to your day, take one slow breath and ask yourself, am I only trying to perform better or am I learning how to live and work better too? And that question may be worth sitting with. I am Coach Sonal Chauhan and we will meet in our next episode. Bye-bye. Take care.
