[00:00:07] Hello everyone and welcome to this episode of Saamya Shots. Valentine's Day the world over is celebrated as the day we celebrate love. That special feeling of love that we have for someone. But there is a world of untold love stories, the ones that we have with ourselves.
[00:00:34] But how many of us can really stand up in a room and say that we love ourselves? How many of us celebrate ourselves? Honestly, to me there is no love story that is greater, deeper and richer than the ones we have with ourselves.
[00:00:54] We cannot love anyone until we learn to love ourselves. It's funny isn't it that we are our own constant companions through thick and thin and yet we hesitate to love ourselves completely. The relationship we share with ourselves is probably the most important one.
[00:01:15] And yes, most of us take care of our physical appearance, our physical health. But very often we ignore our mental health, we ignore our emotional well-being. And that's probably because we don't love ourselves adequately enough.
[00:01:32] We have somehow conditioned ourselves to make ourselves a last priority like it was some noble thing. And this is especially true for women. We ignore how overwhelming sometimes the day gets for us or how sad we may be feeling,
[00:01:50] brushing it under the carpet or waiting to address it on another day. We don't love ourselves through our mistakes, we don't love ourselves through our setbacks, we don't love ourselves or our perceived flaws. We compare ourselves to others, compare how we look, how we feel.
[00:02:14] Constantly trying to fit into places, sometimes trying to silence our voices and that's how we dim our shine. So learning to make ourselves a priority and creating time for ourselves is what we should be doing because that is in fact food for the soul.
[00:02:32] Yes, it may take time, it definitely takes patience, compassion and a whole lot of learning and unlearning. And yet it's something that we forget to prioritize. So let's promise ourselves to take care of our physical, emotional and mental health.
[00:02:53] Let's talk to ourselves with a lot of love and use positive encouraging words. Let's learn to live in the moment and live that moment fully. Let's learn to say no to things and people that deplete our energy
[00:03:13] and invest in activities and people that actually bring us more joy. Let's accumulate more moments of joy surrounding ourselves with positive people who encourage us and actively support us. Let's learn to forgive ourselves for the mistakes that we've made.
[00:03:32] Let's live each day as if it was our first day and cherish every moment as if it was our last. Let's learn to be grateful always for the love, for the lives that we live for the experiences that we have. Include gentle exercises into your daily routine, meditation
[00:03:54] and yes, definitely essential oils. And remember the quote, self love is an ocean and your heart is a vessel. Make it full and any excess will flow into the lives of the people you hold dear. But you must come first.
