[00:00:13] Raj Appenian and loads of Sir, Boba Lock Boys and Girls. It's time for the Chad and James Podcasts.

[00:00:21] Oh yeah because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas so don't listen to a damn thing Chad says on this podcast. What's up boys and girls you're listening to?

[00:00:35] The Chad and Cheese podcast. I'm your co-host Joel Mindfreak Cheeseman and I'm Chad not hungover believe that shit Soosh and on this week's show Paradox gets a new head.

[00:00:48] Finnegan begin again and Veritone Tony Tony has done it again. Let's do this feels good emotion no damage. All right Chad we're alive from Las Vegas at the Transform Conference.

[00:01:04] I'm in day five. You're in day two I believe yes yes I'm probably showing a little more wear and tear. I got to hope so yes. Yes good times last night good times last night amazing time. I had the giggles apparently. Oh my God okay we're just gonna go right into the soap.

[00:01:22] Literally I give Cheeseman a five milligram gummy yes just five lies at least 20 was in that thing. So and shout out to work Vivo because we went to the sphere. They have this up with sweet tickets so we're in the sweet Joel Joel is right into his gummy

[00:01:39] and at the end of it I mean the first and foremost it was an amazing experience thank you work work Vivo. They're owned by Zoom yes right which you forgot because you're on gummy. The CIO of zoom yeah the CIO of zoom comes in amazing dude he starts talking about different people that

[00:02:00] that they're working with and he says oh yeah and then we also had an event with Tony Robbins and you had it and you said what did you say Kenny log is. I said danger zone I said and then you couldn't stop laughing oh my God check it you're in the danger zone my man and I just lost it you were so high it was hilarious but at the event how was it because you were high and that I mean that that could

[00:02:30] set some people into vertigo yeah I'm acts on steroids it's amazing something I love it you get you get air in your face you the chairs shake when you're you know falling into a a pit or something yes mind blowing I mean that part was really cool I was I was transfixed yeah and then yeah

[00:02:49] something something snapped and I could not stop laughing man it was awesome and then we went to go see a friend in videoographer yeah then go he stand up comedy that was a good time that was a great time

[00:03:03] yes you did a really good job I am figuring out that I'm becoming a show guy Chad yeah if we're if we're in show guys okay I made fun of the guy the old people way back

[00:03:15] that like I go to conference and of course I'm partying it whatever yeah ladies in a pool the hotel or whatever and the old the old people be like oh we're

[00:03:25] gonna do a nice dinner yeah go see a show and I was I thought that was so lame now I'm into it I'm loving it first

[00:03:33] night at a Cirque de Salatio I think the love show with plum yes now last time oh that was amazing yeah I

[00:03:40] mean Trigged and we did the mine freak oh did you oh did you care it top was in the audience oh Jesus

[00:03:48] Jesus every show has the chance to really you know drop an unexpected pleasure yeah I just happened to be

[00:03:55] care it's well the first night that we were here I was sucking because we were up early we traveled yeah

[00:04:01] job pixel had this amazing event where it was it was they took over a piece of the buffet here in the wind

[00:04:09] and he's like ah it's a buffet that is the buffet there's not a but that is if you're going to any buffet

[00:04:15] yep that's the buffet I saw a guy sitting over by the crab legs he might he should have just taken the

[00:04:21] the plate of crab legs uh-huh because I mean I go figure it's all you can eat and that's all he was eating

[00:04:26] high quality you know I've been known to like a good meal or two Chad I do and even I was overwhelmed

[00:04:34] with the magnitude of the wind yes buffet yes so my hats off to Mr. crab legs who could not stop

[00:04:43] consuming said crab legs because that is a real athlete my friend not all heroes no where capes

[00:04:49] now and thanks again to Omar job pixel that was amazing both of which were we're advisors for

[00:04:55] but then you know we're here in transform I have never been to a show at the wind before

[00:05:01] I don't believe have you I've never been at the wind before this is up that's because they wouldn't let

[00:05:05] you in this is upscale you had a badge this time so they let you in yeah uh this is upscale and it

[00:05:11] was funny because Julie on day one said every show she did say that she did say that it's all right as

[00:05:21] a show play I mean as a hotel I'm sure it's great yeah it's all right it's a conference place

[00:05:25] I like it I do like Caesars Forum where unleash doesn't think so yeah yeah yeah so so Vegas is

[00:05:33] a good spot coming here three times a year probably not what I want to do but you know what we'll

[00:05:39] make do uh we're on stage yesterday uh had um three amazing practitioners we have that that show

[00:05:46] we get them samara samara and transform got us some amazing practitioners uh we are going to have

[00:05:54] that actually go out as as a podcast on its own yep it was amazing time we got an opportunity

[00:06:00] to talk brass tax with three practitioners on stage and they weren't they weren't afraid

[00:06:06] which I love no a great diverse we had panda yep which is your panda express uh huh

[00:06:12] Joey's your fast Chinese food Joey uh we had box tech company store yes yes that was that was

[00:06:19] great and then hungry root uh huh hippie trippy uh health food in a box come up your house yes so

[00:06:26] we got a really great uh different different views diverse AI D.I automation loved it we tried

[00:06:34] to tackle as many issues as we could in 45 minutes and uh yeah we'll be releasing that soon but

[00:06:40] uh that was that was fantastic yeah whenever you get on stage obviously we bring on beer

[00:06:46] you know it's the end of the day we've got that happening yeah we both thought at the end of

[00:06:51] the day we're like nobody's gonna be here we're gonna be talking to an empty crowd and fucking

[00:06:55] place is full it was full it was full it wasn't the biggest of of areas we weren't on

[00:07:00] you know I know we're in the ex-faults as a keynote with like a thousand chairs yeah uh we weren't

[00:07:06] that but but but we were competing with liquor okay we were competing with all the uh the

[00:07:12] exhibitors here and that's not always easy so I think that we held our own yes uh we open it

[00:07:17] up with little guns and roses welcome to the jungle kind of set the mood teaser set the mood uh you

[00:07:23] poured beer on a lot of the audience members from what I remember uh had a little how little spillage

[00:07:28] at a beer at high I need a city cup I need a city cup I need a city cup out of out of good time so my

[00:07:32] question to you is yes we go to a lot of shows uh where is transform in the big schema things for

[00:07:38] you where do they compete how are they different where they better you're take well I like to say

[00:07:44] that first I don't like the stack rank because that because they're so different the shows are

[00:07:49] so different it's kind of like wreck fest is so much different than unleashes and and transform so

[00:07:54] different than then uh wreck fest right there are a lot I'm gonna say probably 70% of the vendors that

[00:08:01] are here I have never fucking heard of interesting 70 at least 70% of bulk so they're obviously bringing

[00:08:08] in an entirely different you know crop of startups so again I don't see this as better worse or

[00:08:16] anything I see it as different and especially when we're talking about the the audience that

[00:08:20] they're hitting a lot of high level practitioners actually had SVP of Pepsi stop me today ask me when

[00:08:26] she can be on the podcast I'm like are you kidding me yes so yeah good stuff really good stuff good

[00:08:32] stuff you know I think um you mentioned unleash and we'll be that will be it unleash in Vegas again in

[00:08:38] May yes they you know they they seem to be really competitive with HR tech whether that's a mental

[00:08:44] thing or just yeah but I don't think they are I don't think they are HR tech is an industry

[00:08:51] integration it's a vendor soar sausage yeah I don't go to HR tech thinking you're gonna fill the

[00:08:56] funnel and make a lot of sales it's a me strategic this felt more unleashed to me more competitive

[00:09:04] okay so if I'm unleashed I'm looking at transform a little more than than HR tech as a as an up

[00:09:11] and coming competitor yeah we know ERE is trying to to read sort of re-imagine their

[00:09:16] competitors who have booths here yeah I mean and we should see more and on stage as well yes we

[00:09:22] should see more of that and I know that unleashes really hitting the investor and start upside

[00:09:27] to the house hard yeah so yeah I think again I think they're taking it at different angles which

[00:09:32] is cool yes because if they try to be the same I mean then it gets boring and you know kind of

[00:09:38] you hear the Charlie Brown won't want walk yep yep and in like what is different wreck fest oh

[00:09:45] you know their secret sauce is just nobody's like us no so that's off nobody is

[00:09:50] what's off to them yes that's off to them all right let's make a quick do of our announcements let's

[00:09:55] do that because we are we are live it's typical Ben from Brighthigh we're gonna we're gonna hold off

[00:10:00] on yes Ben Sess or CEO of Brighthire just walked by he's looking good he's an all black

[00:10:06] back recording the live show so get out of here Ben we're doing stuff Jesus by the way thanks to

[00:10:15] Brighthire one of our sponsors of firing squad you guys love firing squad you love Teddy

[00:10:21] you love Teddy you love firing squad now you'll learn to love our favorite country music star

[00:10:26] Teddy Chestnut and food competitor food eating competitor so we'll get to birthdays next week probably

[00:10:34] not next week will be in in the bathroom will be here up so might be a couple weeks but shout out

[00:10:39] to plum yes our sponsor for the birthdays shout out to Tex colonel sponsoring bourbon selection by

[00:10:46] both of us as Bentech labs yes for beer and really excited new t-shirt design just approved

[00:11:15] chachis.com click that free link put in your information and who knows a t-shirt and some booze

[00:11:21] just might show up at your door and you said Tex colonel we're gonna see our friend Harard

[00:11:26] more hard yeah Harard more than in Amsterdam next week as we're going to the e-recruitment

[00:11:32] congress leaving get ready we expect Belgian beer Belgian trot all of it my friend I can't wait

[00:11:38] do don't throw any honeykin or am still I'm so excited don't even think about it her hard love

[00:11:44] love her already oh yes he's uh he's a gentleman technologists and he always drops wisdom

[00:11:51] and I feel you know at the end of it so if you are going to be an Amsterdam or you go into

[00:11:56] house of HR make sure you say hi to us another quick announcement we just dropped our data uh

[00:12:03] tata podcast to be Dayton CEO of link up gets information that the Wall Street guys are accessing

[00:12:09] like they were making money with this with this information inside of insiders and you lucky listener

[00:12:15] no cost whatsoever get to know the wisdom and the data of of Toby Dayton so you can only view this

[00:12:22] on youtube go to youtube.com slash at Chad cheese make sure you subscribe share like and watch

[00:12:30] do it all he's sharing charts and graphs and all that other fun stuff that really they don't

[00:12:35] translate well on the audio side so go to youtube look for Chad cheese podcast and listen

[00:12:42] you don't have to be a genius we dumb it down for the Chad and cheese well I mean for us it's got

[00:12:46] mainly a chef but yeah you'll understand that you'll digest you'll consume it you'll love it uh your

[00:12:52] boss will think you're great and smart just like Chad and cheese

[00:12:58] Chad's a topic all right big news out of the desert this week and paradox has promoted

[00:13:07] friend of the show Adam gotson to CEO with founder Aaron maketos becoming executive chairman

[00:13:14] gotson previously president and chief product officer joined in 2020 and led the companies

[00:13:19] initial growth as CEO he aims to continue the company's culture of client care and innovation

[00:13:26] madetos will serve as advisor and mentor to the executive team nice focusing on strategic vision

[00:13:34] and product development big news Chad big news yeah so it's funny because uh we got this news

[00:13:40] early because you know we've got friends we have friends uh Adam's uh Adam's a close friend

[00:13:47] Jay Z amazing and again we talked about this four years ago Jay Z went to a paradox first I believe

[00:13:55] and then and then Adam did four years ago yep and I said on the show and and I think I can say

[00:14:02] we were both at one time control freaks not that i'm not a control freak now but we're both control

[00:14:07] freaks and I said that if Aaron gets the fuck out of the way and lets these guys run this company will

[00:14:15] explode they threw that at me this week sure and Aaron I didn't say making CEO but but you know

[00:14:22] it's not a bad thing yeah I think this is amazing paradox hey it's funny because they are the alpha

[00:14:29] in this space the apex predator they are they are the alpha they have taken a chatbot to applicant

[00:14:38] tracking system I mean all the way through the system and as we talk about how do you own this

[00:14:44] market you got to go down funnel right we talked about even the job boards they need to go more

[00:14:48] down funnel if they want to if they want to be relevant moving on you got to have data why this whole

[00:14:54] AI thing yep is a thing paradox understands that they understood that they know data means everything

[00:15:02] and then you got a guy who he is best in class Adam gods and no in the market he was with

[00:15:09] RPO CLO for years right doing this exact same thing now he has the cash not just duct tape and

[00:15:16] bailing wire that he had at CLO to build products he has the firepower to go build whatever he

[00:15:24] wanted to as the chief product officer now he's the fucking CEO and then you've got Aaron still

[00:15:30] there as chairman so I'm dude I'm I'm excited I'm biased as fuck don't get me wrong but I am

[00:15:37] excited to see where these guys go yeah it is a two way street with those guys I think the love

[00:15:42] goes both ways from that and we will be in Phoenix yes soon so hopefully I don't know for

[00:15:48] me I don't know if we'll be his first interview as CEO but I'll take I'll take that gig if

[00:15:54] he wants to give it to us so so I have a special relationship with them in the 2000s I sold what

[00:16:02] was then a blog SEO mobile kind of kind of mix up of a company worked for Aaron directly

[00:16:11] for a couple years I will echo your control freak comment although I think the years

[00:16:19] having children life just sort of has mellowed Aaron a little bit it does that

[00:16:24] I'm a leopard doesn't change its stripes usually so I got three takeaways from this

[00:16:30] one is paradox must be doing really well back to the control freak thing Aaron does not let go

[00:16:38] unless it's going really really well and he feels like I can step away so and it isn't

[00:16:43] in president for long either no so as as much as we know that paradox is doing very well my guess

[00:16:52] is it's even doing better than we think or we talk about so that's my first takeaway paradox must

[00:16:57] be crushing it for Aaron for Aaron to make this move number two Aaron highlights the importance

[00:17:04] of CEO as your head of TA and I don't say that lightly he's a fantastic recruiter he has built a team

[00:17:15] that is frankly probably unmatched in our little little world of work here yeah

[00:17:20] and most CEOs do not focus on the recruitment side of it like Aaron has and we'll continue to do so

[00:17:28] so from his board of directors his investors yeah his leadership team probably middle management

[00:17:35] and beyond he's had a hand in that he's had a directive in some of those yeah he's probably gone all

[00:17:41] out to get Adam on board oh yeah oh yeah to get these guys on board so he exemplifies the importance

[00:17:48] of CEO as head of talent yeah CEO needs to be recruiting and my third takeaway is that he

[00:17:54] ain't going away oh no he ain't going away I'm not even yeah this is Wolf Wall Street baby yeah you

[00:18:01] got it and I need to anyway it will probably enable him to focus more on he he does acquisitions

[00:18:09] incredibly well he's a smart dude and we've talked about consolidation yeah we've talked about

[00:18:14] TJ Maxx clearance racks he is going to have time yeah to focus on these acquisitions and start

[00:18:22] knocking them down one by one uh and just sort of give them to the team to run so one paradox is

[00:18:28] crushing it two CEO needs to be your head of recruiting and number three Aaron's not going anywhere

[00:18:35] and he'll be unleashed on parts that have been uh you know less of a focus it's kind of scary

[00:18:41] it's going to be scary so there's and I think we're missing one piece that I want to hit we've

[00:18:45] hit before in the past Aaron has one superpower that most CEOs in this space do not

[00:18:52] his experience and his failure and failure is learning right knowing how determined Aaron is right

[00:19:03] I don't know as well as you do but I'm I'm sure that you agree how determined that dude is

[00:19:08] he wanted to come out as the Phoenix with this paradox right yeah with paradox and Olivia

[00:19:15] and he really has and that's one of the things that we you know we we have to understand is that

[00:19:20] you know failure is a learning experience and you have to pivot off that and you have to become better

[00:19:25] and I just think he has I really think he has to to um you know Adam's point of being uh you know

[00:19:33] head of TA there's nobody in the industry that's more likable than that guy maybe Jay-Z right

[00:19:39] the two most likable guys in the industry are leaders in that organization amazing yes and

[00:19:47] don't discount uh Aaron going from what was arguably a top five six job board nationally yeah

[00:19:56] and starting this little bitty chatbot side project that has become what it has become there's a lot

[00:20:03] of humble pie yeah humble pie needs to be eaten a lot of uh you know looks in the mirror and

[00:20:09] that's not easy to do now he he he wants commented in a meeting that hey if we're going to be

[00:20:15] disrupted I want to be the one that's doing the disrupting yeah which is good advice for any

[00:20:19] organization but he ate that dog food and he disrupted his own job board business that's maturity

[00:20:26] yeah that is if anything matures you I've failed I've crashed and burned with products and shit like

[00:20:32] that yep what I've learned out of that is immense I mean it is and and I feel like I've been a better

[00:20:39] person out of learning out of that so again I think he he has a superpower where most founders in

[00:20:46] the space experience wise they do not yeah and knowing Aaron as I do he's hating all this sunshine

[00:20:53] being blown up his ass so hey dude I have been one of Aaron's biggest critic for years we we

[00:21:00] were been on opposite sides yeah of the fence uh even from litigation standpoint at a company

[00:21:07] that I was with and in a company he was with right yeah I'm not gonna blow sunshine unless unless

[00:21:14] he deserves it right okay but he still has you on the other side you on the other hand you're

[00:21:18] you're a sunshine he's it and he and thinking all his companies listen to this is driving him crazy okay

[00:21:24] well we will uh take our noses out of Aaron's ass and get a word from our sponsors remember kids

[00:21:32] there is no show without sponsors so listen to our our ads and write blank checks to all the companies

[00:21:39] that are supporting the chat cheese podcast who that escalated quickly all right we are back we are back

[00:21:45] with transform conference at the win in beautiful Las Vegas Nevada let's transform with the topics

[00:21:54] Swedish private equity investor EQT partners has put up its hand for Melbourne Australia

[00:22:01] born human resources software business page up where US tech investor battery ventures wants to

[00:22:07] part with its 80% stake sources told street talk EQT EQT partners was among parties that tabled a

[00:22:16] non-binding indicative bid to sell side advisor William Blair last month British PE investor

[00:22:24] permira is also understood to have shown interest although it is unclear if it submitted an offer

[00:22:31] the sharks are out looking for deals Chad what's your take on the page up news yeah I mean we

[00:22:37] talked about page up coming out publicly and saying hey we're ready to sell yep we're ready to sell

[00:22:41] I mean it that was amazing right you never hear that shit happens behind closed doors and they said

[00:22:47] hey market we want to sell and uh well apparently they have takeers yeah apparently they have

[00:22:53] takeers which is awesome here's the cool thing and again this is all rumor maybe it's you know

[00:22:59] this is the good stuff everybody a social post from Dan Finnegan you might know this guy Dan Finnegan

[00:23:07] actually says um they're speaking of the Beatles off to Melbourne for a few days and then Sydney

[00:23:14] for a day just so I can be back by the following Monday so he's gone to Australia yep in a whirlwind

[00:23:22] tour Dan Finnegan now who's Dan Finnegan Joel Dan Finnegan is a mover and shaker CEO executive that

[00:23:29] cut his teeth at hot jobs Yahoo yes back in the early 2000s uh he took job right yes yes got them

[00:23:39] acquired got that was what an applicant tracking system uh huh uh uh he helped oversee some

[00:23:46] acquisitions there at least start the process yes and now he's at uh start up and probably

[00:23:52] knows a few money guys and call those money guys and said hey why don't we uh you know go see

[00:23:58] what's up see if there's an opportunity here could be and uh our sources on the ground yes we're

[00:24:05] like TMZ now yeah rumors yeah we were getting all this we're getting all this stuff from all of our

[00:24:10] sources rumor again uh there's an opportunity here will Dan actually prospectively take the CEO

[00:24:16] position knowing that page ups CEO more than likely wants to eject right now or at least that's

[00:24:21] what we're hearing from sources I don't know about that he might be on the ground for due diligence

[00:24:26] because he is uh an a T S CEO and he has background in that uh or could he be coming in as an

[00:24:34] advisor right due diligence advisory that kind of thing no matter what when you've got

[00:24:40] a guy with that kind of firepower making a world win tour to Australia to be able to go through

[00:24:47] a in again this is speculation might be coincidence but that's fucking doubtful what do you think unless

[00:24:53] he's got a penchant that I have for blooming onions and a nice a nice foster beer I am so sorry

[00:25:01] Australians are friends in Australia I'm sorry going to Australia and the time it takes to get there

[00:25:07] is not something that you would uh take lightly so Dan right now is it filtered who's raised

[00:25:13] $10 million when he joined job bite they were nobody yeah it was pretty shocking that someone

[00:25:21] that had been at Yahoo hot jobs would leave that to go to this little job bite it was social media

[00:25:27] that's exciting social media T.S. was there at pitch at the time but Dan has these ways of joining small

[00:25:35] companies you've never heard of seeing promise seeing a team that can can make bigger things yeah

[00:25:41] if they just add water and maybe page up is the water that needs to be added to uh to the company

[00:25:49] possibly my take was that there were seven eight years into the battery ventures money uh

[00:25:55] that it was the road the clock had run out it was time the battery ventures wanted to get their money

[00:26:01] that maybe they weren't doing as well I think only the ATS businesses is is stressed I think that it's

[00:26:07] it's tough right now to make a dollar you normally are able to sell it on the down low

[00:26:13] where no one knows your for sale but to to announce we want to do this

[00:26:17] that is like we're not getting enough buyers yeah by the hush hush down low yeah we need to get a big

[00:26:23] well you know uh put a bigger net out there so I still don't believe that page up is crushing it

[00:26:28] and I think they're they are motivated sellers and and Dan or whoever comes in uh we'll get a fine

[00:26:35] property and if they can uh create efficiencies build brand uh gluten more globally or do something

[00:26:42] different it could be the next job bite for sure the new company or page up become something else so

[00:26:46] I thought that was awesome that we have people on the ground that see that yeah listen to the show

[00:26:51] know who people are like hey uh you guys might want to know about check this out

[00:26:54] finnegan yeah being in australia yeah yeah it's it's pretty amazing I mean australia is not a big

[00:27:00] enough market in itself from a gross standpoint for pe right no you need to expand they said they

[00:27:06] want to come to the us why i've not seen them successfully coming to the us okay uh so again Dan

[00:27:13] Finnegan network yep i don't know just trying to put all the dots together kids and by the way he

[00:27:18] may know a few executives that want to get out of their current uh uh yeah again network man and build

[00:27:24] build a team similar to what Aaron has done uh at paradox by the way speaking of consolidation yes

[00:27:30] knowing that Dan Finnegan and Aaron Maytos are going to be on the hunt for new opportunities

[00:27:35] in acquisitions it's gonna be a fun time for the show it will be if if that if that trend continues

[00:27:41] we'll say another break okay we'll come back and talk about our friends at veritone got it

[00:27:50] Tony Tony Tony has done it again feels good jobico has relaunched the job network touting

[00:27:56] itself as north america's largest recruitment ad network powered by their AI enabled

[00:28:02] job board platform and veritones programmatic ad distribution technology hello there's a lot

[00:28:09] to unpack here your thoughts on the veritone jobico job network marriage yeah this is smart for both

[00:28:16] organizations easily and in first and foremost uh veritone friend of the show sponsor the show

[00:28:23] they've been fairly distressed lately right i mean AI has taken a hit because of all the fan

[00:28:28] companies doing AI and i mean this talk's not going to the moon last time i checked there's a ton of

[00:28:33] shit going on although what does veritone need they need a bigger footprint right need a bigger boat

[00:28:38] we've always talked about this right this footprint is amazing because you're talking about like

[00:28:42] 150 plus job boards in north america plus the EU right so you've got all these mainly dock region

[00:28:50] but at the end of the day man your footprint grows the EU is not as advanced with regard to

[00:28:55] programmatic as the the US is although for the jobico side of the house now they now they're evolving

[00:29:02] and we've said that if job boards want to stay alive they have to evolve amazing you automatically

[00:29:09] have this programmatic performance based technology in your system and you can offer it to every

[00:29:14] single at hundreds at thousands of job board clients right press the button turnkey and then jobico

[00:29:22] i guarantee you has a transactional cut that they take off of it amazing so they get their sass play

[00:29:28] they get their transactional play and who's the big who's the big brother of this thing veritones power

[00:29:34] powering the whole fucking thing so this to me again is incredibly smart uh broad bean is in play

[00:29:40] obviously because of the acquisition of veritone so many moving parts you know we've been talking

[00:29:47] really short term that you know i know sock hasn't looked good they have all the pieces to be able

[00:29:53] to make this work and we've just been sitting back and saying what the fuck are they going to

[00:29:56] do yeah this is i think big it could be for sure and we'll keep around it uh yeah the job network and

[00:30:02] not not to turn this into a nostalgic uh Aaron Meito's edition of the Chen Cheese podcast but tell me

[00:30:08] a story again i'm Scott Molotor started the job network way back in the day uh out of Milwaukee

[00:30:15] built up these great domains that were all city focused while Aaron was at jobbing in Arizona

[00:30:21] getting all the the state names and certainly rush for for those local states so the job network

[00:30:26] for a long time was just this juggernaut of SEO goodness before indeed came along and and figured that

[00:30:32] out last day kind of owned any city city change the algorithm yeah uh they just never kept up

[00:30:39] Scott sold the company 2016 probably really good timing on his part uh yes because of the changes

[00:30:45] we've seen uh in the industry but it has sort of been this dilapidated house just waiting for

[00:30:52] someone on from the hg tv crew it needed a re-verb oh yeah you know put in some new drywall fresh coat

[00:30:59] of pain and really focus on what the business could be yeah i think veritone sees that opportunity

[00:31:06] you and i knew early on about the pando veritone the broad bean veritone kind of connection and

[00:31:12] i think we saw what it could be but we thought like you said they need a bigger boat this is one of

[00:31:18] the few jobboard properties networks if you will that they can plug and play put our jobs through share

[00:31:25] revenue we've got instant traffic now we have a line to europe which i think is maybe the most

[00:31:31] interesting part of of the story oh yeah they need to SEO it they need to like leverage every uh

[00:31:38] free option social media and the technology behind veritone to create content which i don't

[00:31:44] think they've even unlocked yet to create content in video to create content in multiple languages

[00:31:49] oh god if that opens up a whole new uh whole new way to drive traffic to these sites yeah that

[00:31:55] becomes pretty interesting so all right we're gonna be on this we know that our relationship with

[00:32:00] them they'll keep us in tune to what's going on yeah but yeah this this is one of the few moves you

[00:32:05] can see in the jobboard space these days outside of steppestone buying career builder and monster which

[00:32:11] i still contend will not happen until it does uh this is definitely something something to a lot

[00:32:18] well and again you talk about the SEO side of the house so you've got martin lents on the job

[00:32:22] aside of the house right they are going to be working that avenue this is a divide and conquer type

[00:32:27] of scenario and i love that partnerships until you buy them right you know and that could happen

[00:32:33] maybe not i think in this point working as two separate entities as partners that know their

[00:32:40] shit and they're incredibly focused and disciplined on their shit i think it could be it could be magic

[00:32:46] and it could be magic for both of them but mainly first off for jobico because all of these jobboard

[00:32:52] platforms that are out there are getting old and dusty and i mean there aren't there aren't a lot

[00:32:58] of really good up to date ones that are out there jobico is it's top shelf will jobboard start

[00:33:05] kicking over to their network and using this new tech instead i think job postings are just the start

[00:33:12] i mean i could see where there's a pre screening tool driven by veritone ai uh interviews obviously chat

[00:33:19] wade and windy does this chat come into play of you know uh i don't have a resume it's a warehouse job

[00:33:25] like yeah chat bots right there to take your resume as a chat and a conversation it's just

[00:33:31] some more mobile friendly they're it's so i think this is just starting with posting jobs and

[00:33:36] getting more exposure for those jobs now i'm excited uh this this has been a fantastic show

[00:33:42] with a lot of optimism of companies doing really interesting things look at you not being

[00:33:47] disturbed you get to talk about bloom anions and fosters and australia uh there's a blackjack table

[00:33:54] and a lunch buffet calling my name chat this has been a hell of a week another episode in the can

[00:34:01] we out wow look at you you made it through an entire episode of the chat and chase podcast

[00:34:08] oh maybe you cheated and fast forwarded to the end either way there's no doubt you wish you had that

[00:34:14] time back valuable time you could have used to buy a nutritious meal and talk about enjoy a poor

[00:34:22] of your favorite whiskey or just watch big booty latinas and bug fights on tiktok no you hung out

[00:34:31] with these two chuckleheads instead now go take a shower and wash off all the guilt but save some soap

[00:34:39] because you'll be back like an awful train wreck you can't look away and like chat's favorite

[00:34:47] western you can't quit the meter we out
