[00:00:00] Hi, this is Rishabh and this is Vanita. Welcome to Connect The Dots podcast where we want to discuss facts of life

[00:00:07] to help the next generation. Some of the topics we will be discussing about here are

[00:00:12] parenting, schooling, talents, life hacks, new trends, travel mindset and more.

[00:00:17] Hey there, welcome to Connect The Dots podcast and we've we're back here after six months. It's been a long break.

[00:00:25] There's been a lot of things happening, but we're here with the renewed

[00:00:30] topics and a lot of fun things to share with you and we want to take this far from here. What do you say Rishabh?

[00:00:36] Yep.

[00:00:37] All right, so Rishabh just recently went to Malaysia for the first time alone without me and his dad.

[00:00:44] He went to this Taekwondo sir for a one-week camp with just four other students from India.

[00:00:50] So it was an eight-day camp and we want to talk

[00:00:53] a few episodes about what are the things he learnt and what are the experiences he had and a lot of fun things that he did.

[00:01:00] Okay, so let's dive in.

[00:01:04] So what was it like for you Rishabh to go alone with your sir and some other kids for the first time?

[00:01:11] You're just 11 year old to a completely new country.

[00:01:16] I was initially I was kind of nervous

[00:01:20] because I didn't know

[00:01:23] I thought it would be very difficult

[00:01:25] but

[00:01:26] after I came to Malaysia, I felt a little bit different. I felt that okay, let's figure out how this is going to go.

[00:01:33] Okay, so that's how I felt initially how I went without going without parents.

[00:01:39] I mean there there was some moments where I was missing home.

[00:01:43] I was feeling homesick some moments, but then I just kept coming back. Wow, I'm in Malaysia

[00:01:49] and I'm doing a lot of nice stuff here.

[00:01:51] Awesome Rishabh because I remember the first time that I went alone for a trip was when I was 21.

[00:01:57] Okay, and you have gone when you're just 11 to an international country. That's amazing.

[00:02:02] You and I in fact as a mom even I felt nervous about will he be able to manage?

[00:02:07] What about his food and other things will be easy for him?

[00:02:10] Because every time we go we pack his bags and everything is taken care of there's nothing that he needs to do.

[00:02:15] It's all done for him, right? So how was it to actually be responsible this time Rishabh?

[00:02:24] Initially it was actually quite

[00:02:28] tiring in a way. I had to continuously go from place to place on pack pack on pack pack on pack pack.

[00:02:34] We went to three different places in

[00:02:40] Malaysia. So we first went to

[00:02:44] Kuala Lumpur. That was very fun. We stayed there in a huge tower and

[00:02:50] we stayed on the highest floor. So it was an amazing view. Which floor was it? 45th floor. Wow

[00:02:57] so then after that we went to Kuantan in

[00:03:05] Yeah, we went to Kuantan and we

[00:03:08] We stayed in a nice apartment. It was nice. You saw the beach and all that there, right?

[00:03:12] Yeah, we saw the beach in Kuantan. So it was nice and cozy apartment and then

[00:03:19] finally we went to

[00:03:21] Rantau and

[00:03:22] that was like the ending so we went after Rantau

[00:03:27] we went we went and trained in one of the dojangs there. In every place we trained in a dojang.

[00:03:32] So it was pretty difficult to just keep packing and unpacking in every single place.

[00:03:40] Absolutely Rishabh. I'm so glad that the day that you were leaving from India

[00:03:44] you had everything packed by yourself, you know

[00:03:48] we didn't have to do anything for you right from arranging your toiletries to you know

[00:03:52] keeping all your gear your taekwondo gear and then your uniform and your clothes. Do you remember saying that mom

[00:03:59] I'll take less clothes and I'll manage. I'll wash my own clothes there. Yeah, I was saying that.

[00:04:03] I thought I took less clothes

[00:04:05] but then I saw some other guy there who had like such a small suitcase

[00:04:10] It looked like he just put everything into a plastic bag and somebody did it

[00:04:15] So so what were you did you did you do your own laundry for the first time? Yeah

[00:04:21] it was fun actually, but I

[00:04:24] I kind of didn't have change for the first part. So I shared it with my friend

[00:04:29] And you had to keep like I remember your sir telling me that no sending credit cards

[00:04:34] No sending Forex cards. It has it has to be all in cash and

[00:04:38] You took care of all the ringgits on your own. Did you? Yeah, but I forgot some accounting

[00:04:44] That's fine

[00:04:45] But I liked what he said about you didn't want to spend all the money that you had you wanted to bring something

[00:04:50] back and

[00:04:51] Most of your other friends actually exhausted all of it there. Why do you want to bring back? I

[00:04:56] Don't know. I I thought I could bring it back. So next time I go to Malaysia

[00:05:00] I could probably just use some of that also that's fabulous

[00:05:04] I didn't tell you to bring it back, but you had this thought on your own right Risha. Yeah, that's fantastic

[00:05:08] And what are the things I mean we're gonna go into the next episode

[00:05:12] We're gonna go into the details of what you learn from various masters there

[00:05:17] But once again, you know like your initial days of getting accustomed how is the food there?

[00:05:24] Since we don't eat onion and garlic and we're pure vegetarians. How was it?

[00:05:28] Well on the first day when we are going from the airport to Kuala Lumpur we went to this

[00:05:35] Restaurant where

[00:05:36] It was like some

[00:05:38] Soy noodles or something it tasted very strong actually

[00:05:44] But the only mistake I was making is I was continuously mixing it which made it even more stronger

[00:05:50] So then my other friend he finished it like in a second and then it just took I just kept eating and it went

[00:05:57] on and on and on and on and on then

[00:06:00] My grandmaster my teacher my the teacher we met in Malaysia

[00:06:06] he

[00:06:07] He cut the noodles up with scissors

[00:06:11] Because I think those noodle strings were too long and you had to keep eating it

[00:06:15] Yeah, I know that would have been fun. So, you know, I I love this whole

[00:06:20] Experience and the fact that he's sharing it even actually guys

[00:06:23] Just like how you're hearing for the first time

[00:06:25] Even I'm hearing the details of his trip for the first time and I'm equally excited as you are

[00:06:30] so looking forward to sharing more details about his experience with his grandmasters other teachers that

[00:06:36] Experience with other students from outside of India in the next episode

[00:06:40] So do stay tuned until then and I'll leave it to Rishabh to close out

[00:06:44] okay, so if you like this video share it with your friends and

[00:06:48] It's not a video. Oh my god. It's it's been so long

[00:06:52] So if you like this audio share it with your friends and this is connect the dots signing off. Bye
