[00:00:03] Hey everyone, this is Voice with Warikoo, with my Ankur Warikoo.
[00:00:07] In this English podcast series, I cover a lot of things in this English podcast series.
[00:00:11] Career, relationships, personal finance, success, failure, and frankly, something else that comes to the time.
[00:00:19] Every week on Thursday, a new episode on your favorite podcast platform.
[00:00:25] Voice with Warikoo.
[00:00:28] Here are 13 life hacks that can change your life.
[00:00:32] This is going to be completely in English.
[00:00:33] Number one, are you scared of saying no to people?
[00:00:36] Instead of saying no, or worse, saying yes, ask for permission to say no.
[00:00:41] So you could say, is it okay if I say no?
[00:00:45] Most people will actually say, yes, it's okay.
[00:00:48] And they will accept your no this way.
[00:00:51] Number two, do you not want to come across as self-obsessed?
[00:00:55] So whenever someone's sharing something about their life,
[00:00:58] resist the urge to share your own experience around it.
[00:01:01] Unless, of course, you're asked.
[00:01:03] So avoid things like, oh, me too.
[00:01:05] Yeah, yeah, I also did this.
[00:01:07] Oh, I was thinking exactly the same thing.
[00:01:09] Because that suggests you're constantly thinking about yourself.
[00:01:13] Number three, want to deal better with failure?
[00:01:16] Practice failing.
[00:01:17] So every day, pick up a task with a high chance of failure, but a low cost of failing.
[00:01:22] For example, you could ask strangers for money.
[00:01:25] You could send cold emails.
[00:01:26] You can ask someone out.
[00:01:27] Within 30 days, you will start dealing with failure a lot better.
[00:01:32] Number four, do you struggle to document your thoughts?
[00:01:35] Here's what you could do.
[00:01:36] Start a WhatsApp group with a friend and yourself.
[00:01:38] Then delete the friend.
[00:01:40] And now the group has only you.
[00:01:42] Pin that group to the top.
[00:01:43] And you can use this group for sharing thoughts, capturing images, voice notes to yourself,
[00:01:47] whatever is needed.
[00:01:48] The best thing is you can create different groups for different themes.
[00:01:51] So you could have multiple such groups pinned to the top.
[00:01:55] Number five, do you want people to like you?
[00:01:58] Repeat what they said back to them.
[00:02:01] For example, to make sure that I heard you right, you're saying XXX, whatever is it that
[00:02:05] they have said.
[00:02:06] So you repeat it.
[00:02:07] This will make them feel heard.
[00:02:08] They will respect you for your listening skills and the mirroring that you're doing actually
[00:02:12] helps.
[00:02:13] Here's a bonus.
[00:02:14] When you say it back, say it with their name because that always works.
[00:02:19] Number six, do you struggle to save?
[00:02:21] Whenever you spend on anything that is a desire or a wish, for example, clothes or phone or
[00:02:26] eating out, transfer an equivalent amount to a separate bank account and then invest that
[00:02:31] money at the end of every month.
[00:02:33] This way, you'll enjoy your present while planning for the future.
[00:02:37] Number seven, do you struggle with procrastination?
[00:02:40] Think of the task that you have to finish right before you go to sleep.
[00:02:43] Better still, think of the end of that task because what will happen is your brain will
[00:02:48] mentally start mapping the path to finish it.
[00:02:51] Once up, this will make it easier for you to finish the task.
[00:02:56] Number eight, do you want to revise something or understand something effectively?
[00:02:59] Teach it to someone else.
[00:03:01] It works.
[00:03:02] Even if you fake teaching, for example, you're recording yourself while you're
[00:03:05] teaching.
[00:03:06] That also surprisingly works.
[00:03:09] Number nine, you feel underconfident?
[00:03:11] Then trick your mind with powerful reinforcements.
[00:03:14] Instead of saying, I think or I'm not sure, say, I believe or say, I'm certain.
[00:03:21] That tricks your mind.
[00:03:24] Number 10, are you caught in office politics?
[00:03:26] Compliment people behind their back because the news will eventually travel to them and
[00:03:31] people find it hard to fight people who compliment them.
[00:03:35] Number 11, do you buy things and then regret?
[00:03:38] If unsure whether you should buy it or not, just wait for 30 days and then ask yourself
[00:03:42] if you still need that thing.
[00:03:44] Chances are you won't need it anymore.
[00:03:47] Number 12, you struggle to wake up early?
[00:03:50] Set your alarm 10 minutes earlier than your current wake time.
[00:03:53] Do it for three weeks.
[00:03:54] Your body will get adjusted.
[00:03:56] Then 10 minutes earlier, do it for three weeks again.
[00:03:59] Your body will get adjusted.
[00:04:01] And slowly, slowly work your way through to your desired wake up time.
[00:04:06] And finally, number 13, you struggle to focus while listening to music?
[00:04:10] Any song with lyrics will take your attention away.
[00:04:14] So instead, listen to instrumental music, ideally classical music.
[00:04:19] The fact is, our mind can easily be tricked.
[00:04:22] The question is, what do we trick it for?
[00:04:24] I have personally deployed all of these tricks to my advantage and I can vouch for how massively
[00:04:29] effective they are as compared to the effort needed.
[00:04:33] All the best.
