This Teacher's day, I am sharing a lesson I learnt from one of my favorite mentors Dr. Meghana Dixit.
Share on my instagram @coachpreethika what was the biggest takeaway from this episode.
Also let me know what other fears or difficulties you want me to touch upon in the coming episodes and get a shoutout in the episode if your topic is selected.
[00:00:00] Hi, I am Peltika Shenoy and welcome to the second episode of The Sensitive Power, What
[00:00:07] Will People Say?
[00:00:09] The first thought I got when I decided to launch my podcast is how many people in my
[00:00:14] contacts are going to judge me.
[00:00:16] 80% maybe?
[00:00:20] This came with a sense of overwhelm and panic and I immediately did what I do best about
[00:00:26] my mission.
[00:00:27] I decided not to even start this podcast.
[00:00:31] Of course it's a bad idea, what was I even thinking?
[00:00:34] Even my family told me all my life that I am too sensitive.
[00:00:38] The sensitive power?
[00:00:40] Seriously?
[00:00:41] Who is going to believe this?
[00:00:42] I will be loved for even trying.
[00:00:45] You know now that I said it there will be people judging me for me in a life coach as
[00:00:50] well.
[00:00:51] They will be saying something like one thought of people judging me as a panic attack,
[00:00:56] is she even fit to be a life coach?
[00:00:59] The old me would have had a major breakdown just because of this thought.
[00:01:05] But I recently learned the hard way that people who have decided that you are good for nothing
[00:01:10] will continue to think that no matter what you do, you cannot change their mind.
[00:01:16] But you know what's the best part?
[00:01:19] People who have decided that you are amazing will also continue to think that and you cannot
[00:01:23] change their mind either.
[00:01:27] So if you suffer from fear of judgment from society, so-called friends and the mysterious
[00:01:34] charlots or four people who are parents are scared off then follow these steps.
[00:01:42] Now make a list of all the people that you spend your week with.
[00:01:47] Remember, you are the average of the top five people you spend time with.
[00:01:53] So if you are spending your time with people who think you are garbage, guess what you will
[00:01:58] think about yourself after three months of spending time with them.
[00:02:03] Second, if there are people who are constantly talking to you or putting you down feel free
[00:02:10] to throw them out of your life so that you can make room in your life for people who
[00:02:15] think you are amazing.
[00:02:17] Trust me, they will come.
[00:02:19] Three, if you feel lonely, make a list of all the things especially creative tasks that
[00:02:26] you always wanted to do or learn but you felt like you never got the time to do it and
[00:02:32] do them.
[00:02:33] Preferably something creative that you can create out of thin air like this broadcast.
[00:02:39] This will improve your personality, make you more confident which will make you attack
[00:02:44] life-minded people.
[00:02:46] Four, keep a lifelong learning attitude and surround yourself with people who respect
[00:02:53] you for who you are.
[00:02:54] Five, be okay with being misunderstood because you cannot make everyone happy.
[00:03:02] And lastly it is not important what others think of you but what you think of you is
[00:03:08] of utmost importance.
[00:03:09] Whenever you are bored, a gadget or a new television set have you observed that it comes
[00:03:17] with the manual on how to use it?
[00:03:20] Of course there are machines and we need instructions on how to use it but did you know that we humans
[00:03:27] also come with the manual?
[00:03:30] How you treat yourself subconsciously becomes a manual for others on how to treat you.
[00:03:36] So be kind to yourself, respect yourself and love yourself so much so that people around
[00:03:43] you do exactly that or they leave to make space for people who treat you the way you want
[00:03:48] to be treated.
[00:03:51] So the credit for this podcast goes to my mentor Dr. Magna Dixit who helped me get out
[00:03:57] of my own fear of judgment and made me realize that what my haters think about me is nothing
[00:04:04] compared to the feeling of being able to help someone overcome their fear of judgment
[00:04:08] through this podcast.
[00:04:10] Do let me know on my Instagram account if you were able to overcome your fear of judgment
[00:04:16] and I would also love to know what other fears you want me to talk about in the upcoming
[00:04:20] episodes and get a shout out if your topic gets selected.
[00:04:24] Thank you so much for listening and see you in the next episode why I chose sensitivity
[00:04:31] as my topic.
