Speaker 1: Hello, beautiful souls. Welcome to the extraordinary show where we learn the art of living a peaceful, purposeful and prosperous life. I am Shalu pop your host on this show. You know, it happens that we make plans, we make roadmap to achieve our goals.
00:00:22
Speaker 1: However, sometimes we go out of track due to some obstacles or lack of motivation. In this episode, I am going to share with you seven questions that will help you to realign yourself with your goals. So you stay on track. So let's get in
00:00:43
Speaker 1: to achieve anything in the long run. We need to be disciplined, we need to make continuous efforts. Sometimes we lose the motivation. Sometimes we get stuck due to some obstacles in our way or sometimes we just go into the ignorance zone
00:00:59
Speaker 1: at that time, it's really important for us to remind us why we started. So ask yourself the very first question, why you started when we have a strong why behind the goal,
00:01:13
Speaker 1: just a reminder helps us to get that intrinsic motivation towards it. For example, I started doing yoga to stay fit. However, the purpose was to reverse my lifestyle diseases. I used to get nose bleeding. I used to have knee pain, back pain, sciatica pain
00:01:30
Speaker 1: after doing yoga about for six months, all that was gone. Sometimes it happens that I feel lazy about doing exercise. So I need to remind my purpose to myself that if I don't do this, I'll have to again face all those health issues. That pain keeps me going with yoga.
00:01:49
Speaker 1: So why is really, really, really important? The second question is what's coming in the way? What's the obstacle that's preventing me to make progress? Getting clarity on that helps us understand it better. Taking the example the same example, I may say that due to work, I tend to sleep late. So I don't get up early in the morning these days. That's why I miss my yoga session.
00:02:16
Speaker 1: So that's the obstacle. Let's see how we can resolve it with further questions. The third one is what if I stop doing it?
00:02:26
Speaker 1: What will happen one year down the line or five years down the line?
00:02:31
Speaker 1: What if I stop doing it? We need to be clear on the impact of not doing it.
00:02:38
Speaker 1: This builds the fear, the pain that gives us another dose of motivation to keep going. The fourth question is what if I continue doing it? What will happen if I resume doing yoga? What will happen? What will I gain out of it? Another dose of motivation, thinking of the benefits, the pleasure of doing it, right? The fifth question is, is it really important for me to start it now?
00:03:06
Speaker 1: If yes, why give your mind a task to think again and define the why once again as per the current situation? So the neuro connection becomes stronger in your brain. So your conviction towards it,
00:03:20
Speaker 1: why is it important to start it now? Maybe it is not important right now, maybe some family functions are going on. Maybe I say that after a week. So why should I resume that? Write that writing boosts our thinking power and helps in passing the information to our subconscious, right? Why is it important for me to start it after a week?
00:03:47
Speaker 1: The sixth question is how can I overcome the obstacles when we focus on the, how part that means we are thinking of the solution and our mind starts to come up with various options to resolve that obstacle. For example, my mind is coming up with an idea if morning is not possible, let me fit yoga session in my evening routine.
00:04:08
Speaker 1: So giving up just by giving an excuse, I don't get time or I don't get up early these days is not gonna help, right? Ask yourself how can I solve it? You will be provided with the solution. Those who just stop making progress thinking the excuses lives in an ignorant zone.
00:04:30
Speaker 1: Yes. So start thinking beyond question yourself. Questions have the power leverage this power to tune into the power of your subconscious mind that has solution to everything. Yes.
00:04:45
Speaker 1: The last question is how can I stick to the plan?
00:04:50
Speaker 1: There could be many ways find which one works for you, writing your w sticking it on a place where you can see it often can work as a daily reminder, setting up an alarm for yourself every day. Having an accountability partner may also help find a way that works for you so that you stick to the plan and execute that. So these are the seven questions. Let me repeat them once again for you. First one is why you started. Second one is what's coming in the way.
00:05:20
Speaker 1: The third one is what if I stop doing it? What will happen? One year down the line, two years down the line. Fourth one is what if I continue doing it? What will happen?
00:05:31
Speaker 1: Fifth one is, is it really important for me to start it? Now? If yes, then write your y again.
00:05:39
Speaker 1: The sixth one is how can I overcome the obstacles? And the last one is how can I stick to the plan?
00:05:47
Speaker 1: So when we remind ourselves about the purpose about the pain of not doing it, about the pleasure of doing it, we realign ourselves towards our goals and that helps us to be on track to be disciplined. Yeah. So that is about it whenever you feel stuck, ask yourself these questions and this will help you keep going.
