00:00:00

Speaker 1: are you someone who wants to be fit but always

00:00:02

Speaker 1: lose motivation and fail to strict your exercise and diet?

00:00:05

Speaker 1: In this episode, I will share a simple system that

00:00:08

Speaker 1: will help you stop losing and start winning in your

00:00:10

Speaker 1: fitness journey. Namaskar and welcome to the Stronger Men project.

00:00:14

Speaker 1: Thank you for tuning in. Today you have come to

00:00:16

Speaker 1: the right place. If you are a man who desire

00:00:18

Speaker 1: to be a stronger fitter and a better looking version

00:00:21

Speaker 1: of yourself and want to be a better man and

00:00:23

Speaker 1: fulfil your fullest potential in all areas of life.

00:00:27

Speaker 1: I'm one such man and the host of this podcast,

00:00:30

Speaker 1: I'm a Desai, a mechanical engineer turned fitness coach and

00:00:34

Speaker 1: a gym owner based in a city called Harvard. In

00:00:37

Speaker 1: the last five years, as a fitness coach, I have

00:00:40

Speaker 1: helped over 800 people through my fitness, coaching and training.

00:00:43

Speaker 1: Now let's get to today's topic.

00:00:48

Speaker 1: First of all, let me tell you that fitness is tough.

00:00:52

Speaker 1: Exercise and control diet are against normal human behaviour.

00:00:56

Speaker 1: It is uncomfortable, and it takes a lot of effort

00:01:00

Speaker 1: and time. But normal human behaviour is to avoid discomfort

00:01:04

Speaker 1: and to avoid effort And if you're someone who is

00:01:08

Speaker 1: struggling to adopt a fitness lifestyle and stay consistent with

00:01:12

Speaker 1: your diet and exercise, what that means is you're just

00:01:15

Speaker 1: a normal human being. And now if you are someone

00:01:19

Speaker 1: who doesn't want to be a normal human being but

00:01:22

Speaker 1: want to be a fit human being,

00:01:24

Speaker 1: then I'll share a system with which you can actually

00:01:27

Speaker 1: be successful in your fitness journey.

00:01:30

Speaker 1: So the first thing

00:01:32

Speaker 1: lot of people want to be fit, but there are

00:01:35

Speaker 1: hardly any people who want to be a fit person.

00:01:38

Speaker 1: What I mean by this is people want to lose weight.

00:01:41

Speaker 1: People want to lose belly fat and build a strong

00:01:43

Speaker 1: looking physique, which is the end goal of fitness. But

00:01:47

Speaker 1: most people do not want to adopt the habits and

00:01:50

Speaker 1: the lifestyle of a fit person. That means exercising regularly,

00:01:54

Speaker 1: taking care of your diet and maintaining a healthy routine

00:01:58

Speaker 1: and being disciplined.

00:02:00

Speaker 1: This is the difference between a person who desires to

00:02:02

Speaker 1: be fit and person who really becomes fit. A fit

00:02:05

Speaker 1: person is someone who adopts these habits and lifestyle and

00:02:08

Speaker 1: stay consistent with them so that he achieves the results

00:02:11

Speaker 1: he is expecting so the first thing I would like

00:02:13

Speaker 1: to tell you is you become a fit person instead

00:02:17

Speaker 1: of focusing on the end. Results and end results only

00:02:21

Speaker 1: focus on the systems and the habits a person has

00:02:25

Speaker 1: to follow to achieve those goals. That is what a

00:02:28

Speaker 1: fit person is,

00:02:30

Speaker 1: and a lot of times it happens that people don't

00:02:33

Speaker 1: have enough motivation to start on their fitness journey. For that,

00:02:36

Speaker 1: what you have to do is you have to set

00:02:38

Speaker 1: a very, very highly ambitious and emotionally important goal for you.

00:02:43

Speaker 1: What I mean by that is the goal should be

00:02:45

Speaker 1: such that it should be very, very desirable for you.

00:02:48

Speaker 1: And it has to have a strong why behind it,

00:02:51

Speaker 1: the reason behind it, and you should have a purpose

00:02:53

Speaker 1: behind it. And it has to be important to you

00:02:56

Speaker 1: something which will excite you something which will

00:03:00

Speaker 1: energise you to take action. Start that fitness journey, or

00:03:03

Speaker 1: go and get the gym membership. Or start researching on

00:03:06

Speaker 1: what kind of diet you have to follow, or go

00:03:09

Speaker 1: pay someone who is a fitness coach and help you

00:03:11

Speaker 1: to start in your fitness journey.

00:03:14

Speaker 1: Once you have set a very, very strong, ambitious goal

00:03:17

Speaker 1: That is not the end of it. It will only

00:03:19

Speaker 1: motivate you. But motivation is only short lived, and you

00:03:22

Speaker 1: have to replace it immediately with two types of goals.

00:03:25

Speaker 1: One is systems goal, and the other one is progress goals.

00:03:29

Speaker 1: What I mean by system's goal is

00:03:32

Speaker 1: it is a system you follow to achieve your goal.

00:03:34

Speaker 1: It may be the exercise you do. It may be

00:03:37

Speaker 1: the diet you follow. It may be how many times

00:03:40

Speaker 1: you work out in a week. It may be the

00:03:42

Speaker 1: things you want to stop doing in the day to

00:03:44

Speaker 1: day life. That is a system you've chosen. For example,

00:03:46

Speaker 1: the system I have chosen is strength training. I go

00:03:49

Speaker 1: lift weights in a gym, and I like lifting heavy weights.

00:03:53

Speaker 1: And I follow a structure diet, which is high protein

00:03:57

Speaker 1: diet and which is a potion controlled diet.

00:04:01

Speaker 1: And what I mean by progress goals is you have

00:04:04

Speaker 1: to track your progress. Let's say you want to lose weight,

00:04:07

Speaker 1: then you have to track your weight, and periodically you

00:04:11

Speaker 1: should see some progress. That means you should be losing

00:04:15

Speaker 1: weight gradually, or let's say you want to lose belly fat,

00:04:18

Speaker 1: then you have to measure your belly circumference, and every

00:04:21

Speaker 1: 2 to 4 weeks you should see progress in your measurements.

00:04:25

Speaker 1: That means you should keep losing inches in your belly area.

00:04:28

Speaker 1: And once you have set your systems and your progress goals,

00:04:33

Speaker 1: you have to

00:04:34

Speaker 1: focus on these things. Instead of focusing on the end result,

00:04:37

Speaker 1: you have to focus on being that person who follows

00:04:39

Speaker 1: the system and who tracks his progress. What this does

00:04:43

Speaker 1: is it will give you a road map to achieve

00:04:45

Speaker 1: your goal. That is your systems and by the way

00:04:48

Speaker 1: of tracking your progress. You know, if you're making progress

00:04:51

Speaker 1: or not, that if you're making progress, that will actually

00:04:54

Speaker 1: motivate you to continue the system. If you're not making progress,

00:04:57

Speaker 1: that means you have to make changes to your system.

00:05:00

Speaker 1: That is where it is self correcting.

00:05:03

Speaker 1: And once you start following your systems, you have to

00:05:05

Speaker 1: make sure that every small step you take every small

00:05:08

Speaker 1: changes you make in your routine. You have to treat

00:05:11

Speaker 1: it as a win. Let's say you started exercising, and

00:05:15

Speaker 1: once you finish your exercise, you have to acknowledge it

00:05:18

Speaker 1: and you have to celebrate it as a win. Let's

00:05:21

Speaker 1: say you made changes to your eating habits, and after

00:05:24

Speaker 1: you've finished a meal, you have to acknowledge it as

00:05:27

Speaker 1: a win

00:05:28

Speaker 1: and celebrate it as a win. By that way, it

00:05:31

Speaker 1: will motivate you, and it will encourage you to keep

00:05:34

Speaker 1: doing that again and again and again. That is how

00:05:36

Speaker 1: you build momentum and stay consistent with whatever system you're following.

00:05:42

Speaker 1: The next thing you have to keep in mind is,

00:05:44

Speaker 1: don't be in a hurry. Don't compare yourself to other people.

00:05:48

Speaker 1: You don't know what situation they are in. You have

00:05:50

Speaker 1: a completely unique situation of your own. You do everything

00:05:54

Speaker 1: possible in your ability and be patient with the results.

00:05:58

Speaker 1: If you're getting results, that is well and fine. If

00:06:00

Speaker 1: you're not getting results, then do your research and make

00:06:04

Speaker 1: changes to your system, or consult a coach or an

00:06:06

Speaker 1: expert who can help you and guide you through the journey.

00:06:09

Speaker 1: And during your journey, it might happen that you might

00:06:11

Speaker 1: miss some days. You might miss a workout today or

00:06:15

Speaker 1: you might fail to follow your meal. As per the plan,

00:06:17

Speaker 1: it is fine to miss because Rome is not built

00:06:20

Speaker 1: in a single day,

00:06:22

Speaker 1: and so is your fitness. It takes time, and it

00:06:25

Speaker 1: doesn't matter if you miss one day. A lot of people,

00:06:27

Speaker 1: when they miss, they start feeling it's not for them.

00:06:31

Speaker 1: They start having negative self talks. They start feeling it

00:06:33

Speaker 1: is not for them and they eventually quit. Don't be

00:06:36

Speaker 1: that person. And remember, the only way you can fail

00:06:39

Speaker 1: is by quitting.

00:06:41

Speaker 1: It might also happen that some life event may come

00:06:43

Speaker 1: in your way. It may be a festival or an

00:06:46

Speaker 1: event at home. It may be travel. It may be

00:06:50

Speaker 1: busy in your work or it may be any personal

00:06:53

Speaker 1: life events, but you have to keep in mind that

00:06:55

Speaker 1: it is only short lived and temporary. It is a

00:06:57

Speaker 1: season

00:06:58

Speaker 1: it will pass. Once that event has passed, you can

00:07:01

Speaker 1: go back to your baseline routine. That is the systems

00:07:04

Speaker 1: you have set up that is regular exercise and the

00:07:07

Speaker 1: diet plan, which you have been following it is that simple?

00:07:10

Speaker 1: A lot of people go off track when some life

00:07:13

Speaker 1: events happen and discontinue their fitness journey. It's OK to

00:07:16

Speaker 1: take breaks in between it's OK if we cannot follow

00:07:18

Speaker 1: the system for a few days or, let's say a

00:07:21

Speaker 1: few weeks. Also, it is fine. Once it is done

00:07:23

Speaker 1: and over, get back to your normal routine or what

00:07:26

Speaker 1: I call a baseline routine.

00:07:29

Speaker 1: That's it for today's episode. And if you follow these

00:07:31

Speaker 1: few things which I have explained in this episode, you

00:07:34

Speaker 1: will definitely succeed in your fitness journey and be able

00:07:37

Speaker 1: to set up a sustainable fitness lifestyle.

00:07:41

Speaker 1: This is the exact system I have followed, and this

00:07:44

Speaker 1: is the exact system I teach my own students and

00:07:47

Speaker 1: this system has been very, very successful.

00:07:49

Speaker 1: And if you want to take this further and learn

00:07:52

Speaker 1: this system in depth, I'm conducting a workshop called Ticket

00:07:55

Speaker 1: to Transformation, where I'll take you through the process of

00:07:59

Speaker 1: setting right goals and setting right expectation and going through

00:08:02

Speaker 1: the process of transformation, how it happens and how to

00:08:06

Speaker 1: tackle the obstacles that come your way. It is also

00:08:10

Speaker 1: a system followed by world champions and high achievers all

00:08:13

Speaker 1: over the world.

00:08:15

Speaker 1: The workshop is completely live. I will also be able

00:08:18
