In Satyuga, when the tyranny of a rakshasa named Vritrasura (वृत्रासुर) increased too much, Devtas went to the refuge of Brahmaji and tried to find a solution. To this, Brahmaji said,
“Devas! Go to a maharishi named Dadhich (दधीच) and ask for his bones. He’s a very pious man, he won’t say no to you.”
