Speaker 1: Hi, welcome to the Indian Couple Fitness podcast. My name
00:00:03
Speaker 1: is Ravi. I am is Amulya. We welcome you to
00:00:05
Speaker 1: the episode number one here in this particular podcast, we
00:00:08
Speaker 1: will be covering our topic about fitness. We will be
00:00:10
Speaker 1: talking about lifestyle. We talk about as a couple, how
00:00:13
Speaker 1: you can build up fitness. So I'm super excited about
00:00:15
Speaker 2: this. So, hi, my name is Amulya. And if you
00:00:18
Speaker 2: see about my qualification, I have done my computer science
00:00:21
Speaker 2: in engineering. I have been graduated. Then I have done
00:00:24
Speaker 2: jobs in a different companies like IBM in
00:00:27
Speaker 2: Keystone and now I'm currently working in a company named
00:00:29
Speaker 2: as AM.
00:00:30
Speaker 1: So my background is I'm also a mechanical engineer. I
00:00:33
Speaker 1: worked about 10 years in the corporate, I worked into TCS.
00:00:36
Speaker 1: Then I worked for the majority of the time into
00:00:38
Speaker 1: Robert Bosch 2021 I exited the corporate and I became
00:00:42
Speaker 1: as a full time fitness coach. And today in this
00:00:44
Speaker 1: podcast episode, we are talking about how we became accident
00:00:48
Speaker 1: fitness coaches because that was not the plan, right? So
00:00:51
Speaker 1: we just said that, ok, we are doing jobs
00:00:54
Speaker 1: all of that. So would you like to share about
00:00:56
Speaker 1: how we met all of the things.
00:00:58
Speaker 2: Yes, definitely. When I met Ravi, he was not a
00:01:00
Speaker 2: fitness freak or something. He used to just go for jogging, running,
00:01:04
Speaker 2: skipping and all that, those things. And he used to
00:01:06
Speaker 2: try to impress me with his skipping skills and all that. But,
00:01:09
Speaker 2: and also we started going together because we used to
00:01:11
Speaker 2: stay very close even before our marriage and we used
00:01:13
Speaker 2: to go to some parks in the early morning.
00:01:15
Speaker 1: I want to highlight in November, we got married and
00:01:18
Speaker 1: in July we met for the first time or we
00:01:21
Speaker 1: got
00:01:21
Speaker 1: engaged and there was a good six months of time
00:01:24
Speaker 1: where we used to meet up on a daily basis,
00:01:26
Speaker 1: which used to happen. So continue.
00:01:28
Speaker 2: Yes. So we used to meet on a daily basis
00:01:30
Speaker 2: because we used to stay very close and we used
00:01:32
Speaker 2: to go for all like running jogging all those things.
00:01:35
Speaker 2: But like after that, there was a time when I
00:01:38
Speaker 2: saw like we got engaged in July, but from July
00:01:41
Speaker 2: to November, I saw a change in his fitness that
00:01:46
Speaker 2: is he went on putting weight
00:01:48
Speaker 2: because El A right to do work out. So we
00:01:54
Speaker 2: used to literally meet every day, like for breakfast for dinner,
00:01:57
Speaker 2: we used to meet and we used to have outside
00:01:59
Speaker 2: and he being a very foodie guy who used to
00:02:01
Speaker 2: keep on eating things.
00:02:02
Speaker 1: So there was a very interesting analogy we created like
00:02:06
Speaker 1: 80 20 rules, OK? 80% of the food I used
00:02:09
Speaker 1: to eat, 20% of the food she used to eat. OK.
00:02:12
Speaker 1: So that is the start happening. And uh somehow that
00:02:16
Speaker 1: uh I remember during our marriage, right? Literally, I, I
00:02:21
Speaker 1: climbed on a horse, OK? And that was the tradition.
00:02:25
Speaker 1: And uh when I was coming on the horse, right,
00:02:27
Speaker 1: the trouser has become so fit. I was wondering if
00:02:30
Speaker 1: he pana and guess what his cousin took me on
00:02:34
Speaker 1: his shoulders and he started dancing. I was literally like
00:02:37
Speaker 1: my gung TK but my trouser should not get
00:02:41
Speaker 1: torn apart. OK. That was the thing. Eventually I put
00:02:45
Speaker 1: on a lot of weight to 96.3 kgs. What you
00:02:48
Speaker 1: felt during that point of time when I kept on
00:02:51
Speaker 1: putting and it was almost like 2020 kg si put
00:02:53
Speaker 1: on the weight when you met me. So what was
00:02:56
Speaker 1: happening from your side as a spouse? What you have?
00:02:58
Speaker 2: Yeah. So when I met, you were like, not that much,
00:03:01
Speaker 2: uh you know, you were not that much weight but
00:03:04
Speaker 2: like that, I initially, you were very
00:03:06
Speaker 2: focused, you're very motivated and you showed me big, big
00:03:08
Speaker 2: dreams like, you know, and I was really very impressed
00:03:12
Speaker 2: by those things. But eventually when you went on putting weight,
00:03:15
Speaker 2: when all those things, I start seeing that, you know,
00:03:18
Speaker 2: declining thing, all about your dreams, motivation, focus all those
00:03:23
Speaker 2: things going down because you used to be very lazy,
00:03:27
Speaker 2: you know, you just eat and sleep. And also I
00:03:29
Speaker 2: remember when you used to come back from
00:03:30
Speaker 2: office because your hours were a bit earlier. So you
00:03:33
Speaker 2: used to come home and just sleep off and then I,
00:03:36
Speaker 2: I had to come and wake up and then we
00:03:37
Speaker 2: used to have dinner together. And those days were very
00:03:40
Speaker 2: scary when you used to tell me that you used
00:03:41
Speaker 2: to get sleep when you are riding bike. So I
00:03:44
Speaker 2: used to be very worried until you
00:03:45
Speaker 1: reach, I used to, I used to stop the bike,
00:03:48
Speaker 1: put on some water, wash my face and then ride back.
00:03:51
Speaker 1: So it was from itpl to hsr in Bangalore, I
00:03:54
Speaker 1: used to do that.
00:03:55
Speaker 1: So that was really like a downtime in my fitness
00:03:58
Speaker 1: and also not just fitness but also my uh career
00:04:03
Speaker 1: uh relationship. Uh Our chemistry was somehow getting faded out
00:04:08
Speaker 1: because your physical attraction plays a very vital role. Isn't
00:04:12
Speaker 1: it true? So we can cover more of
00:04:14
Speaker 1: this in our future episodes? But as we go about
00:04:16
Speaker 1: our quest to become accidental fitness coaches, I would like
00:04:20
Speaker 1: to share. Now about how I started this journey. One night,
00:04:25
Speaker 1: she asked me that k I say like till when
00:04:28
Speaker 1: you will give this excuse, because every month I had
00:04:31
Speaker 1: a very innovative excuse.
00:04:32
Speaker 1: Hey, this time, this um project is very, very uh demanding.
00:04:36
Speaker 1: Uh this time this is happening. That is happening. I
00:04:39
Speaker 1: used to be very creative giving excuses, but she understood
00:04:42
Speaker 1: that it was all excuses. BS. And she asked me
00:04:44
Speaker 1: one time when you stop giving excuses and when you
00:04:47
Speaker 1: start doing something about it, and that hit me hard.
00:04:50
Speaker 1: And from that point of time I started building up
00:04:53
Speaker 1: some habits of eventually it was about waking up early
00:04:57
Speaker 1: and that took time. Yeah, it took 15 days, 20
00:05:00
Speaker 1: days of time to actually start waking up, then just
00:05:03
Speaker 1: wishing for it and actually doing it. And eventually I
00:05:07
Speaker 1: started getting trained. I
00:05:09
Speaker 1: I invested into health and fitness. I started going into
00:05:12
Speaker 1: the coaching. I start doing all of that. And uh
00:05:15
Speaker 1: long story short in 11 months, I lost 25 K
00:05:18
Speaker 1: is one of the biggest products move for me is
00:05:21
Speaker 1: doing that. Uh Maybe in the next episodes and coming episodes,
00:05:24
Speaker 1: I'll talk about how did I do this in 11
00:05:26
Speaker 1: months after that?
00:05:28
Speaker 1: People started asking us that. How did I do it? Ok.
00:05:31
Speaker 1: Some of her colleagues, some of my colleagues started asking
00:05:34
Speaker 1: some of the family members started asking that, hey, Ravi,
00:05:36
Speaker 1: what did you do? What did you do? Ok. And
00:05:39
Speaker 1: that's where uh journey about education started for me because
00:05:42
Speaker 1: previously I did it for myself. And I also understood
00:05:45
Speaker 1: that it requires education. Ok. Would you like to talk
00:05:49
Speaker 1: about uh how during that phase where I started
00:05:54
Speaker 1: uh getting into the ace examination preparation? Would you like
00:05:57
Speaker 1: to uh talk a little bit about that. Yes.
00:06:00
Speaker 2: So what I want to say about one thing is here,
00:06:03
Speaker 2: he's always a person, you know, first he takes a
00:06:05
Speaker 2: decision and then maybe by the action they cling it
00:06:07
Speaker 2: up what I will see. But so first he, you know,
00:06:10
Speaker 2: brought in all the a certified he registered to it.
00:06:13
Speaker 2: So we have to pay some amount and all that,
00:06:15
Speaker 2: then we get all the material for the examination preparation,
00:06:17
Speaker 2: you know. So we got that and it, it, it
00:06:20
Speaker 2: was there at home. So I was like a weal
00:06:23
Speaker 2: s kara kara, I was not getting a belief in
00:06:26
Speaker 2: you because I've seen you like, you know, ups and downs.
00:06:29
Speaker 2: So obviously we see that right? So I was not
00:06:31
Speaker 2: very sure, but slowly then when I saw you started
00:06:33
Speaker 2: studying and uh putting more time into that and you
00:06:37
Speaker 2: made sure as I say, like it was a long
00:06:39
Speaker 2: down time, we all were working not only nine hours,
00:06:41
Speaker 2: we were working more than that because that was expected.
00:06:44
Speaker 2: And uh but you still remove time out of it
00:06:47
Speaker 2: and then you were studying, you're putting every like maybe
00:06:49
Speaker 2: in the mornings in the nights and even in the weekends,
00:06:52
Speaker 2: that was a time where we didn't have time at all.
00:06:54
Speaker 2: Like I know people usually say in lockdown, most of
00:06:57
Speaker 2: the couples spent a lot of time because they, but
00:07:01
Speaker 2: there was a time when you were giving and investing
00:07:03
Speaker 2: your time in coaching yourself and studying and then you
00:07:07
Speaker 2: went ahead and give the exams. You, you can speak
00:07:09
Speaker 2: about the
00:07:09
Speaker 1: last couple of weeks. I literally took off from job
00:07:13
Speaker 1: because I knew this was really important
00:07:16
Speaker 2: vacation.
00:07:18
Speaker 1: But, but this is something where
00:07:20
Speaker 1: I feel that it was needing time and I definitely
00:07:23
Speaker 1: uh that paid off. I, I got uh 80% in
00:07:27
Speaker 1: that particular examination. And uh after that, I started doing
00:07:31
Speaker 1: this much more professionally, I started becoming all of this.
00:07:34
Speaker 1: So how did you get started on your journey to
00:07:37
Speaker 1: becoming fitness coach? All of that? Would you like to
00:07:39
Speaker 1: share that? Amulya?
00:07:40
Speaker 2: Yes. So where Ravi had a question about or an
00:07:43
Speaker 2: issue about like the weight? Right? So I didn't have
00:07:46
Speaker 2: that issue any time in my life, a touch for that.
00:07:49
Speaker 2: But the thing is like, I had many other issues like,
00:07:51
Speaker 2: you know, like I didn't have much energy, my strength
00:07:54
Speaker 2: or I had issues in sleeping, you know, for the,
00:07:57
Speaker 2: uh maybe in the midnight 12 o'clock, I used to
00:07:59
Speaker 2: sleep and all that and those things I had. But
00:08:02
Speaker 2: later on when Ravi also was like investing some time
00:08:05
Speaker 2: into your fitness and all that. I remember me joining
00:08:07
Speaker 2: for yoga classes and we doing that. But I got
00:08:10
Speaker 2: more inspired when I saw you put a lot of effort.
00:08:13
Speaker 2: And then our, again, as uh Ravi mentioned that most
00:08:16
Speaker 2: of our colleagues or friends were asking
00:08:18
Speaker 2: you took a decision to help them. So I was like, ok,
00:08:21
Speaker 2: why can't even I help? And that is how I
00:08:24
Speaker 2: came into this. And that is where my yoga as
00:08:28
Speaker 2: a yoga trainer, I came into the picture.
00:08:30
Speaker 1: So that combination me as a fitness coach and nutrition
00:08:34
Speaker 1: coach and she from the expertise of the yoga,
00:08:37
Speaker 1: uh that's where we started. And eventually we gave it free.
00:08:40
Speaker 1: Like I remember uh coaching for an entire one month,
00:08:44
Speaker 1: all the people who came in organically, we just said
00:08:47
Speaker 1: that we'll do it, whatever it requires for you to transform,
00:08:50
Speaker 1: we'll do that. And people started getting results and they
00:08:53
Speaker 1: started asking us, would you like to uh getting paid
00:08:55
Speaker 1: for whatever you're doing? And that's how we accidentally became
00:08:59
Speaker 1: fitness coaches. And our journey today is we are founders
00:09:03
Speaker 1: of Body Shred hub community
00:09:04
Speaker 1: and uh we have hundreds of people working professionals, homemakers,
00:09:08
Speaker 1: we have business owners, we have uh students even. They
00:09:11
Speaker 1: all are coming into this thing and majority of the
00:09:13
Speaker 1: couples who are coming into this. So if you are
00:09:16
Speaker 1: looking into a community where you need that hand holding
00:09:20
Speaker 1: accountability and also care from somebody who has been there,
00:09:24
Speaker 1: done that, then you can check out the description. We
00:09:27
Speaker 1: will be sharing you certain resources where you can go
00:09:29
Speaker 1: through a webinar and some other resources. So
00:09:32
Speaker 1: the next episode, we'll be talking about how few of
00:09:37
Speaker 1: our members implement what we said the system and they
00:09:40
Speaker 1: lost 15 kgs, 20 kgs all of that time. So
00:09:43
Speaker 1: I think you would be interested in that. What do
00:09:45
Speaker 1: you think of a, would they be interested?
00:09:46
Speaker 2: Yes, definitely. Why not? But it didn't happen just in
00:09:49
Speaker 2: one day or in one month because it really takes
00:09:52
Speaker 2: time to put on weight. So definitely it will take
00:09:54
Speaker 2: time to even reduce that, lose that weight. But as
00:09:57
Speaker 2: you mentioned that if there's a community, if there is how,
00:10:00
Speaker 2: you know, we have helped people, I think if we
00:10:02
Speaker 2: share to them, definitely we'll get a benefit out of it.
00:10:04
Speaker 2: So
00:10:05
Speaker 1: stay tuned for the next episode because in the next episode,
00:10:08
Speaker 1: we'll be revealing many other strategies which they used in
00:10:12
Speaker 1: our system and how as a couple they started getting
00:10:15
Speaker 1: more results out there. So thank you very much for
00:10:18
Speaker 1: all the people, five people who have been listening, let
00:10:20
Speaker 1: us see who, how many people will listen to this
00:10:22
Speaker 1: particular podcast. And we are excited and looking forward to
00:10:26
Speaker 1: serving you more.
