[00:01:05] who inspire and lead. Today we dive into from reading to stardom, a childhood wrapped in melody, the life of Taylor Swift, a name synonymous with heartfelt lyrics and chart-topping hits. Hi everyone, did you know Taylor started her journey in a tiny town just like some of us?
[00:01:29] Today we are going to find out how she turned her diary entries into songs that the whole world sings. Taylor Allison Swift was born on December 13th, 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania. Growing up on a Christmas tree from, Taylor's childhood was quaint and filled with imagination.
[00:01:54] That sounds like a magical place to grow up. She must have had a lot of fun playing around the farm. Yes Jay, she certainly did but Taylor was not just any form girl. She was a storyteller from the start.
[00:02:10] At the young age of 10, she was already writing her own songs. Her parents recognized her talent early on and supported her passion for music and she won a national poetry contest in 4th grade. Amazing Grandma, I remember was it for a poem called Monster in my Closet?
[00:02:33] I read in my book on Taylor Swift's biography book. That's right, that poem showed her knack for crafting stories. A skill she would soon channel into songwriting. By age 12, she was already playing the guitar thanks to a computer repairman who taught
[00:02:52] her a few chords and from then Taylor Swift soon progressed from local talent shows to natural dreams. That's so nice to hear Grandma. Yes, that's really nice to know Jay. Taylor's ambition soon took her beyond local talent shows.
[00:03:14] Determined to reach broader horizons, she convinced her family to take trips to Nashville, Tennessee. The country music capital where she pitched her early songs to music row labels. But wasn't it all so smooth sailing? Was it Grandma? I heard she faced a lot of rejections at first.
[00:03:39] Absolutely Jay. Despite the setbacks, Taylor's determination never wavered. She continued to refine her craft, blending country roots with pop sensibilities. At age 14, her family made a pivotal decision to move to Hendersonville, Tennessee to help her break into the music industry.
[00:04:00] And that's when she started to pick up for her right grandma. She performed at every opportunity from cafe gigs to country fairs catching the eye of Scott Borketta who was all to launch big machine records. And boom!
[00:04:24] She signed her for his new label and that's how she got her big break. And the music star was born and in 2006 at just 16 years old, Taylor released her debut single. Yes, the debut single Tim McGraw which was a homage to her love for country music and storytelling.
[00:04:47] The song became a hit setting the stage for her debut album which brought her into the national spotlight. She really turned her dreams into reality from writing songs in her bedroom to becoming a music sensation.
