[00:00:07] They say laughter is the best medicine.

[00:00:12] Hello Sunshine and how has your week been?

[00:00:15] It's of immense importance to learn to laugh at ourselves.

[00:00:21] We all agree that humour is a good thing.

[00:00:24] There is nothing better than a clever joke, a witty one liner, some comedy, a moment

[00:00:32] in time when we just burst out into peels of laughter, giggling.

[00:00:37] And while it's easy to laugh at others, which is why romantic comedies and stand-up comedians

[00:00:44] and improv shows are where people run when times get hard, what can be hard is seeing

[00:00:50] our own comic moments and laughing through this embarrassment or self-consciousness.

[00:00:58] For instance, some of us may lack any sort of elegance and grace.

[00:01:03] Maybe we don't dance very well.

[00:01:05] Maybe we don't walk in the most elegant manner.

[00:01:08] Maybe we keep tripping over things and people and running into furniture or walls and sometimes

[00:01:16] we may be extremely clumsy.

[00:01:19] You know, and that way we feel we are in a constant state of embarrassment.

[00:01:23] And that's when it's that much more important to learn the skill of laughing at ourselves.

[00:01:30] Life has serious moments and they're important but without our ability to laugh our way through

[00:01:37] it no matter what we are doing or who we are or what we think is embarrassing, life

[00:01:42] would be too serious.

[00:01:44] So next time you make a mistake whether it's you tripping over something or running

[00:01:50] into someone or saying something really embarrassing at the wrong moment and you know you've made

[00:01:57] yourself blush just laugh.

[00:02:00] Take a moment to just laugh.

[00:02:03] In that moment the embarrassment that you feel will just disappear and you will be completely

[00:02:10] free to be yourself, your clumsy, graceless, loudmouth self if that's what you are.

[00:02:18] Laughter gives us the opportunity to not take ourselves or our current challenge too seriously.

[00:02:25] When you laugh, you interrupt what is bothering you.

[00:02:28] You take your mind off whatever it is that's really bogging you down.

[00:02:34] A challenge may be that's posed itself in front of you.

[00:02:38] In that moment you take the power away from the challenge and give it to yourself and

[00:02:43] you're actually telling that challenge that yeah you may be big but I am bigger.

[00:02:50] When we learn to laugh life doesn't seem all that gloomy and sad and that's why they

[00:02:58] say laugh often, laugh loudly and most importantly laugh at yourself because the truth is to

[00:03:06] laugh at yourself is to love yourself.

[00:03:09] So here's to each one of us learning to laugh at ourselves and making life a little

[00:03:14] more light bringing in a little more joy into our lives.

[00:03:18] We'll speak to you again next week until then take good care of yourselves.

[00:03:23] Bye for now.
