[00:00:00] Hello Sunshine, and how has your week been?
[00:00:13] Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life and the whole aim and end of human existence.
[00:00:19] And this was said by the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle about 2000 years ago, and it still
[00:00:25] rings true today.
[00:00:28] The truth is each one of us in the pursuit of happiness, each one of us truly wants
[00:00:33] to be happy.
[00:00:35] Each one of us will define happiness also very differently.
[00:00:39] For someone it may be time spent with family, for someone else it will be time spent with
[00:00:44] a pet, for someone else it will be time spent with their pets, with their kids.
[00:00:50] Some of us may like to just go out on a quiet walk alone, some of us may want
[00:00:54] to just step out and maybe dine alone because that's what brings us true happiness.
[00:01:00] There are a few of us who find true happiness in making money, find happiness in pursuing
[00:01:07] our creative skills.
[00:01:10] Some of us are very happy living in the hustle bustle of the city while some of
[00:01:13] us want to run away from the hustle bustle of the city and live a quieter life outside.
[00:01:19] But today we'll talk about a concept that I heard it's called sustainable happiness
[00:01:25] and it was defined as the kind of daily happiness that's long lasting and enduring,
[00:01:30] built on your identity, relationships, self-esteem or unique talents.
[00:01:36] And yes, it does require effort and dedication and we do need to take simple steps to
[00:01:42] create a happy life which means creating happy healthy habits.
[00:01:49] Simple things like practicing gratitude, cultivating a sense of gratitude is extremely
[00:01:54] important for lasting happiness.
[00:01:57] And no matter what situation we find ourselves in, there will always be something that we
[00:02:02] can be grateful for.
[00:02:04] Being of service to others.
[00:02:06] Acts of service helps us be happy.
[00:02:09] The truth is sometimes it's very easy for us to slip into a negative frame of mind.
[00:02:15] We keep cribbing or complaining about the small things or something that's really bothering
[00:02:20] us.
[00:02:21] When we go out and help someone, it reminds us that there are other people who are going
[00:02:25] through so much more.
[00:02:27] Adding a little bit of happiness in their life helps us feel happy.
[00:02:32] Self-care is an activity that enriches our life, lowers our stress and it could
[00:02:38] be anything from exercising, gardening maybe, going out for a concert that we really want
[00:02:44] to watch, essentially taking time out to take care of our mental well-being so that
[00:02:49] we avoid burnout.
[00:02:52] Spending time with family, taking time to pursue a hobby, we have Shreya with us today
[00:02:58] who wants to tell us about how she prioritizes her happiness.
[00:03:03] Hello Shreya and thank you for coming on to Hello Sunshine.
[00:03:05] Hi, thank you for having me on Hello Sunshine.
[00:03:08] So what promotes me to make healthy decision is to be in discipline with yourself, with
[00:03:13] your body, with your mind and obviously with your overall well-being so that one
[00:03:18] should always make sure to do it consistently.
[00:03:22] Always give the power to yourself to control your mind and not to make your mind control
[00:03:27] you.
[00:03:28] But if you won't make mistakes, you never learn out of it.
[00:03:32] So first people do make unhealthy decision, what actually promotes them at the moment
[00:03:38] to make healthy decisions.
[00:03:40] Building overall positive consistency and discipline is the utmost thing.
[00:03:45] Thank you so much Shreya.
[00:03:50] And like Shreya said, it's important to take time to prioritize ourselves.
[00:03:55] When we prioritize ourselves, it's one of the best things that we can do to ourselves.
[00:04:02] So here's to each one of us creating healthy habits.
[00:04:07] Have a great week everyone and we'll speak to you again next week.
