[00:00:00] I think there should be a way to send F1 drivers back to F2 to promote F2 drivers. So that I mean, I'm not right, like I mean don't just demote them to your BTM, send them back to F2.

[00:00:13] Yeah, I like Struil Ricardo and that guy out as well. The way you go up, there should be a way of going back down as well. Going back down as well. Right. Come on. Come on. Hello, hello and welcome back to F1 Fanfiction.

[00:00:37] A show about race we can reviews and racing community interviews this week. After a break, we head into a triple header as the teams are in Europe. We start with the Spanish Grand Prix race where we were promised that coming in to the weekend.

[00:00:55] Carlos science was gonna tell us where he's gonna go. But looks like more of a bargaining or a haggling or a negotiating strategy because we still don't know. We still don't know. And with that, we are your hosts. I am Akash. And I'm Sarang.

[00:01:15] And let's see how this trick plays gonna play out for science. They're still the same rumors that he's gonna be absorbed into either villains or Ali. When the top leagues have sort of said no, we don't him. Red Bulls of the team. Yeah.

[00:01:35] First of all, I don't fucking get like the better decision at all. I feel, I don't know, science would have been a great fit. Yeah, I think they are more interested in having a good spread of points, like not just the top. I see.

[00:01:53] But seeing how the other teams have been developing their cars and how they've been doing good over the last four races. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if they're gonna regret their decision going ahead. Right. They do these points from Perez. And what's it here, isn't delivery? Yeah. Yeah.

[00:02:18] Because this race, as like the few in the recent past have said, I've shown that strategies actually What's driving these races than just pure pace. Right. Because this one was somewhere of a dry one, as compared to how entertaining the other ones have been off late.

[00:02:41] But at its crack, I think there was more strategy at play. Yeah. Definitely. And I think one thing which was good about this race, again, like when we sat down with notes as we talked about was that nothing much happened in the respiration, like except for some moments.

[00:03:00] But I feel at least like watching the results still interesting and quite like I wasn't the edge, especially because like both of them were on different strategies, lander and like yeah, it was great to have interesting thing to watch.

[00:03:15] And the first place I'm surprised where that strategy just adopted right McLaren. Like I think they lost the initial positions, they lost the pole position and then decided to go along and yeah, it just developed on its own.

[00:03:30] It's interesting how the whole thing played out for them as well because they asked lander on their way to do. And obviously there is this other meme of whenever ask lander how to what the race strategy should be when he's starting from pole, so she flashbacks.

[00:03:48] But he was asked if they want to sort of play with Russell. But I think he was trying to be a bit ambitious and go for that max set up. But yeah, I think he kicked himself with that race start. You know what he could have done.

[00:04:05] I mean, sure something better in terms of reaction time. But max was always going to be there. So he had to defend there. Russell taking the perfect advantage that he could because even Hamilton fucked up his race start.

[00:04:19] So yeah, bold move on the outside, taking the P1 couldn't stick it and it up P4 right where he started on the great. So yeah, a good side excursion. He did with the whole race. I mean, I'm good.

[00:04:32] Yeah, he went to the side quest that's what I've seen. Exactly exactly. Yeah, man. But I feel like the very fact that he tried to defend max so hard and turn one. He lost track of other drivers. That was his biggest mistake.

[00:04:50] And I feel like if you see at the end he finished for two seconds behind max, which is not a lot. So if he would have let max ahead into one and would have like stopped Russell instead,

[00:05:03] I think he would have reaper chance at winning the race in general. Yeah, yeah. But see, here's the thing right. So what he just said, I personally feel like as more of a good of who they should have sort of situated. Yeah, true.

[00:05:18] But where I get your emotion is the fact where Russell had just picked up a lot of that had just picked it or Hamilton had just picked it. And they asked, nor is, you know, hey, do you let's pick and switch tires and all.

[00:05:34] And he's like, no, you know, let's keep continuing or something along those lines with that sentiment. And he basically wanted to go after max. They then had the chance to maybe undercut max into a pit stop.

[00:05:49] But you could see max come into the pits or his tire change. Yeah, that's where probably, you know, if the landlord have picked it that lap. That's the best stuff. Yeah, and then, and the ask was made right. It wasn't like it was a tool.

[00:06:07] It's like we could have done this. But like you have this opportunity to do it. He said no, no one to know. No, right. Oh, yeah. I think that was also a point where the race turned.

[00:06:21] That's true. But I think another factor played here was that they didn't have the second driver. Unfortunately, somehow I don't know like PSU was not on game today. Yeah. And if they had that support, I think they could have played a better strategy overall. Yeah, yes, Max.

[00:06:40] Who were I was battling on at p7 along with Red Bulls of the driver? Yeah, that's true. That's fine. But I think this time was one of the first races where I felt like Max was a little frenzy towards like somewhere in the middle of the race.

[00:07:01] When he could see like land, there was really catching up. Yeah, like over taking everybody. And then he was really catching up. Like at one point. Yeah, yeah, no, yeah.

[00:07:10] And I think like he also said, yeah, we won the whole situation and all, but he got a sort of like look back into what's happening. I think it's, it's more sure. It's the same boring result. Yeah, Max went all.

[00:07:25] But these wins to him are not coming as convincingly as they were in the past. So it's definitely gotten. The other teams have caught up. What I don't remember and I think I'm somewhere confident that Red Bulls have still yet to bring up greats to their car.

[00:07:42] I don't know when it coming. So the other teams have caught up. I don't know when Red Bulls are going to play their cards, but they wait a few days. Yeah. I don't know. But yeah, I'm glad they're back at least. That's good to see. Yeah.

[00:07:58] Yeah, man, that's actually quite nice to see. I mean, I didn't expect it. They have been at on it for ages like ever since like, along. So having a terrible experience there to as you are right now. Right.

[00:08:13] And I think you have well deserved an awesome and long dog being there as well. I think right from the start of their project, more like pretty much. And he's like, uh, reaping the rewards pretty much so yeah, nice for them. True, true.

[00:08:28] But credit to land about one more thing, man. People still kind of say that his first instrument was kind of, uh, you know, a lot of a lot of fact. But today again, that he proves that he was almost there like he pretty much bringing it to Max.

[00:08:44] Like at this point and even last day says well again, like, uh, another start of the year. Love, love, love, that's why they couldn't but, uh, yeah, he's almost there. Yeah, no, for sure. He's got that fire in him. I think maybe five more laps.

[00:09:00] He could have gotten it. But yeah, it's, I see now now Max has card me with this. Like every time I tried to say if he had it, he had it. Well, if my mom had ball to shake my muffler, right?

[00:09:13] Yeah, uh, but yeah, I've started to see that line like randomly on internet now. Like it's gone outside the F1 world as well. Yeah, I know. Yeah.

[00:09:25] It's the best if come back and you and yeah, but, uh, the very fact that Max and Lando have had more one to use. And there is a Max. Since 2023 is finally going to go. So that's what's this deal.

[00:09:41] So Max and Lando have had like 10, one to use like since 20 years. As in in terms of race finish, no, no, no, I risk finished finish again. Yeah, yeah. And Max and Perez have got only nine, one to use. Like in any combination, but like this one.

[00:10:00] Yeah, no, I mean definitely Lando's got that that that great because somewhere around like lap 25, 26, right? Like there was this, there was this battle brewing between Russell and Norris. And there was a good, you know, back and forth which are who on the inside of the

[00:10:20] things outside when eventually Landover the middle of the way. But that was pure basis. Yeah, it was awesome. That was pure. Yeah, yeah. You know one thing like at that point, so there are two things about Russell I felt about during that whole over take rate.

[00:10:38] So one was that as a spectator, I loved it that Russell went for it again because like very honestly, it was he was not racing Lando like in reality. Like he was what I mean, like his race was Hamilton. Yeah.

[00:10:53] And if he like wanted to he could have thought like, you know, just let him go. I didn't care. But like you know, the racing driver and then like over in the outfit. Yeah. Yeah. It was nice to see like he went for it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. True.

[00:11:11] Before we move forward, folks listening, I don't know this just this thought just crossed my mind from the weekend. Sorry, doesn't know about this. So he's going to hear about this for the first time. But so I dear friend,

[00:11:26] actually I go, he's been racing this season at the nerve-gring endurance season. Let's say that. But he's unfortunately suffered a accident in a crash. No. Thankfully, he's he's good and recovering well now. But yeah, if you are listening to this,

[00:11:48] Akshai motor sports is a handle and go DM him get well soon because he's sitting somewhere in a hospital. Sorry hotel room, recovering. But yeah, send him get well vicious and if you can. Back to the race. I want to talk about this Red Bull scenario.

[00:12:08] There's this whole, this whole section plastered with how peraise has been battling Alpine and whoever was there, I mean, asked in Martian and we'd act drivers for peer vision. Why what is wrong with the guy? Yeah, when I swear it's sad and I'm tired of talking about him.

[00:12:35] Like it's just we're like, I don't get it like he. Well, and now we have to we have to suffer through this for the next two years. It's just going to be pathetic. I think we should just consider that there's only one red bull car.

[00:12:52] Just name him something else like on the official graphics. Red Bull has three teams out there. Two library launches. One for the next. What pinches me more is the whole. And it's not just peraise, right? Like the what what pinches me whole is the whole.

[00:13:19] Grit needs a reshauffel but they're still continuing because of the whole. Yeah, it's an area. Yes. So many good drivers waiting for a spot. Like if I was I don't know if I was one right like out of place, the Alpine drivers.

[00:13:35] Pushmini who's the Alpine Academy is been so promising with F2. What another podium this week? I got a podium right now. So like come on, come on. I think there should be a way to send F1 drivers back to F2 to promote FI was.

[00:13:52] So that I mean, I'm not right. Like don't just demote them to your B team. Send them back to F2. Yeah, I like struggle. The way you go. There should be a way of going back down as we're going back to the right. Come on. Come on. Yeah.

[00:14:11] Ricardo and you, that guy out as well. Sorry Ron, sorry Ron, good idea. I mean, you're a very pan but yeah. I have a justification for this. It's a before you know how before the resports, the there's the soul grit set of that they talk through.

[00:14:31] The commentators before even the formation lap this weekend, we were back at Spanish Gropi. Let's look at the grid formation. So they went of P20, Alex Alban starting because of the change of power unit. Blah, blah, blah, blah, they say P19. Logan Sargent starting back at the grid.

[00:14:50] But as, but he, he was due to be at the back anyways. So they take a big a big a big a big at him. Yeah. But but lap one, he over to Ricardo to be P18. Yeah. So who's the worst? Exactly.

[00:15:12] I say both could go but who's the worst? Yeah exactly. So anyways man, the whole, the whole grid will think to me, these days doesn't make sense. You know, the whole point about red bull was like they have two teams say,

[00:15:27] they have the opportunity to give new drivers chances. And at the very beginning, they did do that. We saw that like we're, with Gassley with Alban. So aggressively. Exactly. And then suddenly they just stop completely. They're like nothing's changing forever. Like what? What the fuck? What's happening? Yeah.

[00:15:51] Well, at least that one boy is trying to get them all their stats by himself. That is, now if starts out to be believed Max now has 61 wins versus Hamilton who's got 60 wins.

[00:16:04] So only two driver world championships, but more wins than Hamilton who's got seven goes to say how dominant this area is. I swear. Max fighting for that seven championships. He's also tired.

[00:16:22] I would, with a lot of the team and yeah, with a lot of them and pros with maximum podiums, 106 at P4. So yeah, he's also taking charge of the entertainment because in the press room, Hamilton was seeing eyeing down.

[00:16:39] And he comes in and says, yeah, he's clearly getting old. Do you need a massage? Oh boy, since that was entertaining. One guy taking charge of everything. Nice way. So again, so Redwell P is listen to our proposal to live rees for the two different cars. Yeah.

[00:17:01] That it's one of the teams. Remember you can do four if you want to take a card out to a new planet as well. Four. Sure. Exactly. But three. Let's just do it. One.

[00:17:15] But I think there's some spicy sentences delivered by Zach Brown and the word Max on the on the grid. Like I heard a lot about this.

[00:17:26] I haven't heard the episode yet, but basically I think what he said was like the at least five six other drivers on the grid. Like who replace Max in the car can also achieve like a world championship.

[00:17:41] And then I see that and then after that, I saw this meme where I don't know if you so this is this photo of Zach Brown after the series. I was long side of race right.

[00:17:52] And then the caption there is the face when one like your two drivers are not one of those five six drivers can replace Max. Yeah. Ah man. It was too funny.

[00:18:11] I mean, I need to check the episode. I'm pretty sure people have taken it out of context and to start out obviously. But it's a good flashback to how Max said if you put anyone into Lewis's car anybody kid. Yeah.

[00:18:27] I think I think so Zach is somewhere right. Yes. But seeing how close some of these cars have come in the last two three races. Yeah. I don't think it's true. Exactly. That's what I feel. Because it's got in here. I think it has.

[00:18:44] I think it's also come down to the driver now had had these been switched to a landow in that red bull and Max in the in the in the McLaren. Yeah. Think Max talent is more than land or talent. Yeah. Possibly. So that hunger is different.

[00:19:01] Is that that aggression in that you know want to kill you sort of. Yeah. Yeah. Totally his merit on winning the last two races. Anybody who says it's just a cause yeah definitely wrong. Yeah.

[00:19:15] And I think it's after a very long time and very refreshing as well that we're seeing this Multitim battle happening at the front which really doesn't happen. Yeah. I don't want to hear that with Dutch National Anthem. They in Dutch and Austin. So I don't follow.

[00:19:39] I don't follow football soccer wherever you're listening this to but football slash. Yeah. And I was at a friends place over the weekend and apparently the Euro cup. Yeah. Another land was playing someone and they played Dutch National Anthem like a lot of them.

[00:19:55] One more place to listen to this. I walk off the bed and I'm like they can't do this. Yeah man. Let's talk for Ari. Yeah. Let's talk about the meaning champions of Lamont. Oh yeah. Thanks for bringing in the last weekend.

[00:20:17] They have like one of the best weekends and they are the Red Bull of Lamont man. Like they've been totally at least last two years for sure. Yeah. And I mean historically too, they've been the, you know, but yeah last two years at least yes.

[00:20:35] And then they come to F1 and then back to business. All goes to all goes to crap. Yeah. What do you have to tell about like let's, let's go to the whole Ask for that. Obviously out there right. What are your thoughts on that?

[00:20:52] Before going that I wanted to point one thing out. So on one hand like last weekend at Lamont, they had Robert Kubeez who was like absolutely, you know, gunning it in a Ferrari and they had three teams.

[00:21:06] I think two of them a factory one was a customer chair or something like that. And all three teams were like up ahead in the top five. Yeah. And then contrasting to this, like this. Yeah. So it's too funny. Yeah. Anyways getting back to all that controversy right.

[00:21:26] Oh man. It's it's weird. I mean we're setting context. We're talking about the first lap incident between Leclerk and science here. Yeah. I mean it was overblown. Sveard like science has just become a complaint box. It seems like oh, okay.

[00:21:45] You're taking the dick on science on this one. Okay. I see. Actually both, but science because he did it. So even with a incident with Hamilton is like, he is saying all shit like why is there a rule book if you don't follow it.

[00:22:00] I mean, both of these incidents were pretty minor. I felt like it was nothing. Yeah. And yeah, that's what I was talking about science. But Leclerk is well because I think he was also pretty much fuming about his like he destroyed my wing, blah, blah, blah. Yeah.

[00:22:18] What was that? Saying and I think they also had some understanding about not battling it out and like the first lap or something like that. I was it. And uh, science I think clearly didn't follow that. Yeah. Okay. Uh. Yeah.

[00:22:33] I mean, I guess like in that sense, I'll give it to you because, um, yeah. So both these while science came on immediately saying he touched me. Um, any other whole rule book thing as well. It's re-sing. So you've got to kill a bit down. Yeah.

[00:22:51] And then I got to say the same thing to Charles as well. I mean, sure if they did have that understanding of not fighting out in those initial laps, then it was a bit more aggressive for science to do what he did.

[00:23:02] But again at the same time, it's re-sing. Yeah. Exactly. It's not a go. If you see an opportunity, if you don't go, if you don't go for the gap, are you really, are you really, are you? Exactly. Why is words one said exactly. Right. So come on.

[00:23:23] And it's fine. I mean, you should have been spoken on the radio. It's done for and then do it in a debrief. Exactly. Yeah. Talking about hard. Talking about it at the wave bridge was also another thing that they didn't have to do.

[00:23:37] So those two guys are talking it out. And vote us is right next to them, right? That means like, oh wow, this is pre-intested in. It was exactly that. He's done it there. Like give me a bucket of popcorn.

[00:23:51] Someone on the has I don't know who all, he also came there. It's like that it's like that mob situation went to people fighting. He stands there for a while. Go to bed. We're making. Yeah. And then what does this to? There.

[00:24:06] And what has a sternant to a meme machine, man. He's he's overtaken. Stake F1 Instagram channel as well. He's got quite little means after another. Oh, boy. But it's weird, man. Like airing out there. The laundry out there in the weep bridge. Yeah.

[00:24:29] And I mean, Charles does see why is he surprised very honestly? Like if your teammate is getting fired, why do you think he's going to respect you or give you any thing right? Yeah.

[00:24:40] It makes no sense like why would you even think he would like play nice after all the stuff that he had should be racing blah blah blah. If that wasn't enough this too, right? Like yeah exactly. Yeah. I agree.

[00:24:56] But I don't know, Charles this way seemed like he was. I don't know, a lot more aggressive. I felt like that unusual. Yeah, but but I still felt feisty. I don't know what it's fine. Yes, fine actually exactly. Yeah, it's going on talking about the champions at Lemons.

[00:25:18] Let's talk about the other team which had a double DNA for Lemons. That's Alpine. Disaster of a team. Like shitting at all racing. It means. So funny. The team is giving them at least everything on the grid here, right?

[00:25:42] Like even with the pit stops both drivers and not there like we will do nothing to sort of like say we are not prioritizing one or the other both are two point two second pitch. Yeah, like we will for a couple things on our own. Exactly.

[00:25:57] Yeah, I'll be in those still at least they got double points. I think finally. Yeah, this is the second time I think they have pertinent somewhere. So some some redemption. But at least ghastly qualified pretty well and I think for majority of the race he was T seven.

[00:26:14] Hmm. I think towards the end then work out for him. I think he ended up at T nine. I think. Yeah, I think so. So yeah, at least they got that and I think they have a new higher rate. Yeah. Oh, old new higher. Old new higher.

[00:26:33] Yeah, that's how they do in the tech world also right? Like fire people and then I mean he wasn't fired butcher. Love you, Peter. He's the soul crash gate thing rate like that. That's how he's just going to go there. Folks, you don't know. He's the old enough.

[00:26:51] From back in the day with Singapore, Gropry and 2000 hit in upside. Uh huh. Yeah, go set it up. Yeah, in upside. So yeah. Hmm. They need a new strategy to win somehow. Right? Exactly. Yeah. Might as well. Some higher. Go from the expert. I have the expert.

[00:27:11] Yeah, I have the expert. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. What is he doing? Why are they there? I don't understand. It almost seems now like. It almost seems like K-Mac has like got in a weakly pass for penalties or something.

[00:27:29] It just like straight as soon as he enters the grid, it just kind of a penalty like. Yeah, like it away. You've used this meme in the past month of the channels and this is what I went back to this race. Is that general from, uh, Yeah, equate.

[00:27:45] In parks and rig. Yeah. You start from, you fall start, believe it or not penalty. You end up speeding in the pit lane, believe it or not penalty. I guess it in the car, believe it or not penalty.

[00:27:59] I don't know where it's going, but overall I think like the whole deal with this. Race somewhere was also the challenge to switch on tires. And as at least the first folks who came into the pit work, given the hard tires,

[00:28:19] the other drivers and in strategy just started realizing it's difficult to turn them on. So I think the right choice after the whole race looks like was mediums and hard was probably not working out well.

[00:28:33] So that's why probably if you see right like there's a good mix of hards and softs towards the end because they started reversing the strategy on the second driver. Exactly. And that's exactly what happened with the last race in this race, I feel like.

[00:28:52] Last race, Russell was able to end up ahead of Hamilton because he was on the soft strategy. Yeah. And he was on hard trying to do the exact same thing. Yes. Yes.

[00:29:03] Yeah, I mean, but it was good to see some amazing masterclass from the legend after a long time. Totally. Yeah, finally that first podium of 2022. Because he gets a podium, now there's a start saying Hamilton continues his streak of 18 years of getting a podium in the form.

[00:29:23] Nice good plan. Yeah. Well, this is going to be a interesting next two weekends right like it's intense racing again. This is sprint races well. Oh. Which I absolutely hate but yeah, we're still not buying the whole sprint situation but sure.

[00:29:44] But I do money keeps needs to keep coming in. And the thing is I feel that being make Austria super boring because Austria is just like it's a pretty straight forward track and yeah actually.

[00:29:58] It's a more technical track than anything because there's nothing on the track but it's a high G force high cornering tracks. It's a bit tiring for the drivers but otherwise yeah. But I feel like sprint would pretty much like we do have the race. Yeah. Oh, sure.

[00:30:18] On that note first podium for Hamilton in 2024, Norris climbs up to P2 in the driver's. Oh yeah. That's getting interesting. Yeah. Cars getting close to Red Bull. We don't know when Red Bull's going to bring in their upgrades and what difference that's going to create.

[00:30:37] How the gamble for haggling from science is going to play out. Yeah, too much happening here as we continue to get bored with the Dutch National Anthem.

[00:30:47] It's going to stay that for a while at least is what it looks like from the F1 fan fiction commentary box until underlaterpal header continues into the next race next weekend. These are your hosts signing off. Bye.
