[00:00:20] A Delhi court granted interim bail to former JNU scholar Umar Khalid on Wednesday, 1,556 days after his arrest in the UAPA case related to the 2020 Northeast Delhi riots.
[00:00:34] Khalid was granted bail for seven days to attend a family wedding with conditions that he must not contact witnesses or use social media.
[00:00:43] He can only meet family, relatives and friends and must remain at home or the wedding venues.
[00:00:49] Khalid must surrender to the jail superintendent by January 3, 2025.
[00:00:55] The Rajasaba was adjourned on Wednesday after opposition members protested Union Home Minister Amit Shah's comments,
[00:01:01] demanding an apology for the remarks they claimed to insult at B.R. Ambedkar.
[00:01:06] When the House reassembled at 2 p.m. after an earlier adjournment,
[00:01:10] Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiran Rajiju accused Congress of misleading the public by misrepresenting Shah's comments.
[00:01:18] This led to a heated exchange and slogan shouting, prompting Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar to adjourn the session.
[00:01:26] Ravi Chandran Ashwin, the 38-year-old ace of Spinner announced his retirement from all formats of international cricket
[00:01:33] after India's draw in the third test against Australia in Brisbane.
[00:01:38] Ashwin, who made his debut in 2010, accumulated 765 international wickets, including 537 in tests.
[00:01:47] He will, however, continue playing in club cricket, including the IBL, where he was picked by Chennai Super Kings.
