[00:00:21] Family members of a doctor who was raped and murdered in Kolkata last month joined the protesting
[00:00:26] medics at Arjikar Hospital on Wednesday and accused the Kolkata police of attempting to
[00:00:31] suppress the case by hurriedly cremating the body of the doctor.
[00:00:35] The Supreme Court on Thursday reserved its order. On Delhi Chief Minister Arvind K.G. Devol
[00:00:40] separate police seeking bail and challenging his arrest by the CBI in the alleged excise policy scam.
[00:00:46] Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel will agree to a permanent ceasefire
[00:00:51] in Gaza only if the border between South Angersa and Egypt is secure to prevent its use by
[00:00:56] harm us. The South Indian Artists Association, alias Nadigarh Sangam in the Tamil film industry
[00:01:02] has decided to take stern action against perpetrators of sexual offences if they are proven guilty.
[00:01:08] The Kerala High Court on Thursday said that a two-member special bench, including a woman
[00:01:12] judge, would be formed to consider cases related to the Hema Committee report that exposed violence
[00:01:18] against women in the Malalam film industry. Let's get into the details. Family members
[00:01:23] of a doctor who was raped and murdered in Kolkata last month joined the protesting
[00:01:27] at Arjikar Hospital on Wednesday and accused the Kolkata police of attempting to suppress the case
[00:01:33] by hurriedly cremating the body of the doctor. Participating in the protests at the state-run
[00:01:38] Arjikar Medical College and Hospital where the body of their daughter was recovered on August 9th,
[00:01:43] the parents demanded justice and accused a senior police officer of trying to bribe them
[00:01:47] after the incident came to light. The parents of the post-graduate trainees stated that
[00:01:52] they joined the protest to support the junior doctors fighting for the justice of their
[00:01:56] daughter. Since August 10th, protests have erupted across the state with people from various sectors
[00:02:01] demanding justice for the victim. The Supreme Court on Thursday deserved its order on Delhi
[00:02:07] Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's separate police seeking bail and challenging his arrest
[00:02:11] by the CBI in the alleged excise policy scam. A bench of justices Surya Khan and Ujjal Bhayan
[00:02:17] heard arguments put forward by additional Solicitor General S. V. Raju represented the
[00:02:22] Bureau of Investigation and Senior Advocate Abhishek Singhvi appearing for Kejriwal.
[00:02:27] Kejriwal has filed two separate petitions challenging the denial of bail and against his
[00:02:31] arrest by the CBI in the corruption case filed by the Central Agency. The ARP chief was arrested
[00:02:37] by CBI on June 26th. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Wednesday that Israel
[00:02:45] will agree to a permanency spy Angasa only if the border between Sadangasa and Egypt is
[00:02:50] secured to prevent its use by Hamas. Netanyahu firmly rejected the idea of withdrawing from the
[00:02:57] Philadelphia Corridor in the initial 42-day phase of the deal. He argued that international pressure
[00:03:03] would make it nearly impossible to return. For a permanent ceasefire, Israel requires assurances
[00:03:09] that the post for Gaza administration will prevent the corridor from being used to smuggle
[00:03:13] weapons and supplies to Hamas. The Philadelphia Corridor along the southern edge of the
[00:03:18] Gaza Strip bordering Egypt has been one of the main obstacles to a deal to halt the fighting in
[00:03:23] Gaza and bring Israeli hostages home in exchange for Palestinian protesters. The South Indian
[00:03:29] Artists Association, alias Nadigarh Sangam, in the Tamil film industry has decided to take
[00:03:34] stern action against perpetrators of sexual offenses if they are proven guilty. The
[00:03:40] association took the move in the light of the Hema Committee report that exposed violence
[00:03:44] against women in the Malala film industry. Following the release of the report, more women
[00:03:48] are opening up about the sexual attacks they faced in film locations. Kerala police have registered
[00:03:53] over 20 cases against several men including actors, directors and production controllers
[00:03:58] over these complaints. Observing these criminal cases in Kerala, Nadigarh Sangam in Hollywood,
[00:04:04] which is on high alert, decided to take strict action including a five-year ban on the offenders.
[00:04:10] The Kerala High Court on Thursday said that a two-member special bench including a woman
[00:04:15] judge would be formed to consider cases related to the Hema Committee report that exposed violence
[00:04:20] against women in the Malala film industry. The bench will include justice A.K. Jai Shankar
[00:04:25] Nambiar and justice C.S. Suthap. More details of the bench have not been revealed.
[00:04:29] There is no clue whether the bench will consider the sexual assault cases.
[00:04:34] The single judge on August 13th had allowed the release of the report by dismissing a police
[00:04:38] challenging the State Information Commission's order permitting, the panel's findings and
[00:04:42] recommendations to be made public. That brings us to the end of this episode.
