External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar addressed the deportation of 104 interns from the US, confirming that the process followed was standard with no changes made. He assured the Parliament that the Indian government is working with US authorities to ensure the deportees were treated properly.

[00:00:36] He clarified that the standard procedure for deportation includes restraints, but women and children are not restrained. During transit, deportees are provided with food, medical needs and are temporarily unrestrained during toilet breaks when necessary, whether on civilian or military aircrafts. The statement came after a brief disruption in the Rajya Sabha where opposition MPs raised concerns about the process.

[00:01:03] Union Science and Technology Minister Jidendra Singh announced that India will launch the Chandrayaan-4 mission in 2027 to collect moon rock samples and return them to Earth. The mission will involve multiple launches of the LVM-3 rocket with five components assembled in orbit. Singh also highlighted the upcoming Gaganyan mission, which aims to send Indian astronauts to low-Earth orbit next year,

[00:01:28] and Samudrayaan in 2026, which will explore the deep ocean with three scientists in a submersible. US President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning transgender athletes from competing in women's sports, marking his latest move against transgender rights since returning to office. He declared, from now on, women's sports will only be for women and stated that the order ends the war on women's sports.

[00:01:57] The order allows the government to withhold funding from schools that permit transgender athletes to participate in women's team. Trump also calls for the International Olympic Committee to revise its rules on transgender athletes before the 2020 Los Angeles Olympics. He instructed Homeland Security to block visa applications from men attempting to enter the US as women athletes.

[00:02:21] Thousands of demonstrators set fire to the home of Bangladesh's founding leader as his daughter, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, delivered a passionate speech on social media urging her supporters to rise up against the interim government. Witnesses reported that several thousand protesters, some wielding sticks, hammers and other tools gathered around the historic house and independence monument. Some even brought a crane and excavated to destroy the building.

On January 20, the Nayatankara court had sentenced Grishma to death, citing the brutal nature of the crime,
