नवीन अपत्याचा जन्म, शंकररावांचं व्यवसायातलं सहकार्य यामुळे घर आनंदाने भरुन गेलं. मात्र नियतीला हे सुखही फार काळ बघवलं नाही. एकच वस्त्र वर्षभर वापरावं लागण्याइतकी परिस्थिती बिकट झाली. अखेर भाऊंनी काही काळापुरती माघार घेण्याचा निर्णय घेतला.
