The Advice Every Consumer Founder Needs #blumepodcast #skincare

Two pieces of advice for consumer founders. Both harder than they sound.

When asked what he keeps telling consumer founders today, Mohit Yadav doesn’t hesitate.

First: obsess over the product.
Not just in words — in structure.
If you’re sourcing the same third-party product as everyone else, you’re not really a product company.
You’re a marketing or distribution company wearing a product label.

Minimalist’s success, Mohit says, comes down to actually owning the product — formulation, efficacy, outcomes. That’s where real differentiation lives.

Second: don’t be selectively transparent.
Founders often assume customers won’t notice half-truths or omissions.
They do.

Consumers are far smarter than we give them credit for, and selective honesty eventually catches up — eroding trust when it matters most. In the long run, it never pays.

The takeaway is simple, but uncomfortable:
Build real product.
Tell the whole truth.

In this episode of The Blume Podcast, Mohit Yadav joins Karthik Reddy to share what actually matters when building durable consumer brands in India.
