[00:00:00] Lakhrahao ka May Thura Saar Darau Aum Yes I am because I have a very special guest who is a trainer
[00:00:12] who has trained me in my corporate life so I should sit on the note, maybe I should take some feedback
[00:00:20] So let me introduce you quickly to Aditi, so Aditi is a soccratic leadership skills developer
[00:00:27] and with more than 24 years of corporate experience
[00:00:31] right she has worked with a number of corporations in the field of learning and development
[00:00:35] before she founded her own venture skills infinitum in May 2016
[00:00:42] it's quite a long time so that's why so we will hear more about her career venture from Aditi
[00:00:48] herself but she's a curious observer of human behavior and is certified in new role linguistic
[00:00:56] programming we call it NLP and storytelling she's a very good storyteller so we might
[00:01:02] listen a lot of stories from her before beginning her stint as a learning facilitator
[00:01:08] Aditi was a generalist and worked with many print and electronic media houses as a reporter
[00:01:14] sub editor, news producer and anchor so let's welcome Aditi to the show
[00:01:19] Hi Aditi, welcome to the show
[00:01:20] Thank you very much, Darmat, no feedback for you
[00:01:24] Thank you thanks a lot for that
[00:01:26] Aditi welcome to Wisdom Vispers with Abhshik Mithil
[00:01:29] it's a pleasure to have you here
[00:01:30] Thank you
[00:01:31] Before we get into the discussions like we have already heard so many key words about you
[00:01:39] would like to hear about your career journey so far
[00:01:42] Wow okay so it has been varied like you said I started out as a journalist
[00:01:48] I did that for about three years and when I started I thought I could change the world
[00:01:54] then three years later I discovered maybe not so much but honestly it was it is a very hectic life
[00:02:00] being a journalist so I wanted to move into something else that I knew I sat down and asked
[00:02:06] myself what do I know what else can I do in life and languages had been my strong point so I moved into
[00:02:13] training and I trained on language for a little bit before I moved into corporate training
[00:02:20] so there again the focus was communication training leadership training and then it kept evolving
[00:02:26] and I think I kept taking the most logical next steps so I am still a learning facilitator
[00:02:33] but I'm also a life coach which I think was the most natural progression for me
[00:02:39] and which anyways today you know is under the wide umbrella of development
[00:02:46] what else have I done along the way I think I've realized a lot of dreams and I've tried to marry
[00:02:51] all of that with learning and development so like you said I am a storyteller
[00:02:57] which I think is an integral part of learning because learning now no longer is you know
[00:03:03] PPT download you know it's moved way ahead of that so I became a storyteller
[00:03:10] I looked at neuro linguistic programming because it fascinates me how our language can
[00:03:15] you know change a lot about us and you know our fears and things that we do
[00:03:22] our victories as well and for very many years I was an artist in my head
[00:03:27] I used to think my birth chart you know I'm very creative and I know a lot about art
[00:03:32] then I said you have to test karna pa rega okay so I learned how to sketch in paint today
[00:03:37] I paint professionally I also create a merchandise that is art based so yes I'm a learning facilitator
[00:03:46] but I think I've started doing so much more I've I've always written ever since I can remember
[00:03:53] again that was you know a theory in my head that I'm good at it so I tested that also along the way
[00:03:59] and today I've published five works poetry stories all nonfiction no yarn around learning
[00:04:07] and development yet okay we shall get there maybe one two years down the line we will have something
[00:04:14] by Aditi Morohtra oh yeah maybe sooner but yeah I think that's what I've done unless I've forgotten
[00:04:22] something so yeah along the way I've been on the board of a couple of organizations you know
[00:04:29] related to coaching helped a couple of NGOs by being on their board so that's what I do with my time
[00:04:35] thank you that's quite a bit things it's there are a number of things which you have done
[00:04:41] yeah and Aditi why we why we are here right what is the motive behind having this discussion is
[00:04:50] now what happens is a lot of people want to get into this field right at the start of the
[00:04:55] career or want to pivot after two three years as you pivoted right correctly you pivoted after
[00:05:00] three years of your media life that you want to do something else that's that's more hectic for
[00:05:06] you and you need some more defined timelines defined working hours so that's why you pivoted and
[00:05:13] you you entered into this field right so and that's the primary reason why we want to have this
[00:05:18] discussion so that our audience can also understand that what it needs to be in this field yeah
[00:05:24] and how they can pivot if they have already started in some other field right and wants to get into
[00:05:29] this and now it is more interesting it's more storytelling yeah more visuals yes and more
[00:05:36] interactive rather than one way given off trade so so that's the primary reason so that people can
[00:05:41] enter people can explore new area and this is a very interesting area for for me at least I when
[00:05:47] I see that because I have a lot of my friends like you who is into this industry and they are doing good
[00:05:53] yeah and it's and you learn alongside right it's not because something when you have to train people
[00:05:59] you need to train yourself yeah you know Abhishek I think that holds true for any profession that
[00:06:04] you're in the bedrock of you being successful and I'll probably you know talk about that a little
[00:06:13] later what success really is because I think that's also very personal but the bedrock of being
[00:06:18] successful of doing good work is to keep that spirit of learning going for yourself whether
[00:06:24] you're in the technical industry whether you're a trainer whether you're in finance whatever have
[00:06:29] you otherwise you're going to stagnate and you're going to fade out yes so so continue to learn
[00:06:35] that's something that holds true for everybody so when you started when you moved from media
[00:06:43] to this yeah then what was the expectation from you right way back when you when you move into this
[00:06:51] and how it has evolved over the years you know so in some ways the expectations are the same
[00:06:59] yet having said that the expectations are vastly different as well when I got into training
[00:07:09] you know I remember I got into it because it was one of the interviews that I gave and I
[00:07:13] thoroughly enjoyed myself and I said wow this sounds fantastic and I got into training and then
[00:07:20] my eyes opened and I realized that you might know a lot but you should be able to explain you know
[00:07:27] what is why and you know how and all of that you need to be able to explain all of that about
[00:07:33] the content that you're facilitating so in that respect I think the expectation is the same
[00:07:41] very often when you look around you see that people skip the why they know the how but they don't
[00:07:47] know the why yeah and that's where the challenge starts creeping in so that I think is the basic
[00:07:54] expectation what has changed a lot has changed and thankfully so because there's so much more
[00:08:01] that you can access there's so much more information research there are so many different methods
[00:08:07] of facilitating development today I wouldn't want to just call it training but it's facilitating
[00:08:15] development you know whether it is about what you're going to learn what you know what you don't know
[00:08:22] that is no longer limited to a particular skill but I think we've evolved into talking about
[00:08:29] personal development a lot more coaching has come into the space it's still very nascent in
[00:08:36] India but I think we've made great strides and we're no longer just looking at you know two dots
[00:08:42] but we're looking at all the dots that exist and how they're interconnected therefore
[00:08:47] development is so much more relevant so much better accepted today so I think from that perspective
[00:08:55] a lot has changed there's more tools there's more assessments that one can take there's more
[00:09:00] structure that can be brought in at the same time you have more space to experiment
[00:09:07] you know a lot of creative endeavors that I've been talking about whether it's storytelling
[00:09:11] and bringing that into facilitation whether it is so I also run a lot of art based workshops
[00:09:20] where you're expressing yourself via art you know and it could be on a plethora of topics right
[00:09:30] I also incorporate art into my coaching sessions so it's not that you're necessarily always sitting
[00:09:35] with a paintbrush and a canvas but in a variety of ways so I think that has evolved
[00:09:42] you know over the years there's a lot more that's happening in this space there's gamification
[00:09:47] you know that's online training I remember and I sound very ancient but I remember in some
[00:09:53] organizations when we had begun to introduce let's say an online setup or even way before COVID
[00:10:00] facilitating learning for peers sitting in different geographies you know the kind of mental
[00:10:06] block that there was and then how it sort of opened and I think during COVID there was more acceptance
[00:10:13] and understanding that things can function differently from how you know them so yeah
[00:10:18] And then also now when you are talking about these sessions where you are trying to
[00:10:24] get into learning from an art perspective right it opens to more areas for people one
[00:10:32] we all want professionals to be more creative absolutely right and more
[00:10:36] strategical in thinking so when you when we get into these workshops then you tend to think that
[00:10:41] really I can do this much yeah I can I can go back to the Tare Zameeke movie right when
[00:10:48] when americans organize this art in entire fest these professors they drew something and they
[00:10:55] were like initially they were little skeptical but at last they were happy that what they have
[00:11:00] created out of that page right yeah so it's it's it's important it absolutely is and also I think
[00:11:08] you know when the corporate world or actually why just the corporate world wherever and we've had
[00:11:13] a certain set way of working for very many years we get used to that and anything a little different
[00:11:20] there is a little bit of resistance but I'd say always give something new a chance you know don't
[00:11:26] rubbish it don't dismiss it right away thinking you know art and coaching or art you know I've
[00:11:32] had so many other experience art you know what are you doing I'm not a kid with who needs to hold a
[00:11:37] crayon don't dismiss something experience it and then make up your mind yeah so what you really
[00:11:43] did when you move to this right after media so what how was your day and week looked like
[00:11:50] then yes in terms of naturally when you start something you you are not going to train people
[00:11:59] right you need to learn a lot you need to prepare a lot so what exactly you did when you moved
[00:12:04] there and what was your day and weeks used to look like and I think I've been very lucky when I
[00:12:10] moved into the space of training so the first was a language school so I got extensive training
[00:12:17] in terms of how to go ahead and administer that learning myself right so I got trained on four
[00:12:23] nicks I got trained on pronunciation of course you know grammar but then how do you go ahead and
[00:12:28] explain how do you understand the why and share it with people so that they're able to apply it the
[00:12:32] focus was all application right and then when I moved into the corporate world again there was an
[00:12:37] extensive training for about over a month before you know going ahead and actually beginning to
[00:12:45] train people ourselves yes so I've been very very lucky how my days used to look was I was a work
[00:12:50] of holocaust I enjoyed my work there were days that I would go back home for half an hour and
[00:12:55] be back in office and just you know like love every bit of that today I think wise enough
[00:13:03] I don't do those kind of work days anymore but yeah I enjoyed that when that was happening
[00:13:09] today I take on specific work which gives me creative freedom I'm able to and I'm blessed to
[00:13:17] work with clients that are happy to incorporate different styles of facilitation of learning so it's
[00:13:26] not just limited to you know come here look at a ppd deliver that's not how I chain and I function
[00:13:32] right it's a support for me but there will be a lot of methodologies and creativity which is why I
[00:13:39] also do the very many things that I do because I think if you get one dimension then nothing works
[00:13:46] yeah so today I think you can choose work that I'm taking up and I mean I'm saying it with all
[00:13:54] humility my days are now researching and thinking a lot about how I can make learning more interesting
[00:14:06] you know increase retention by adopting these strategies of using art using experiential learning
[00:14:15] you know not just keeping it limited to a download sometimes that's important especially when
[00:14:22] you're learning a new skill but you also said I'm a socratic trainer so I don't give you
[00:14:29] yarn there will be a lot of questioning and I will help you discover what is there what you
[00:14:36] already know and how you can use that best for yourself as well yeah so it's a mix and matter
[00:14:42] of all these strategies there's personal coaching there's you know team coaching so all of that
[00:14:49] and of course there's learning facilitation yeah but all of that takes up my time and I'm just
[00:14:55] I'm having a ball great and like when you when you started in this and you had a different role
[00:15:04] right and how that role has evolved I understand the objective remains the same yeah right but how
[00:15:10] your role has evolved over the years like if people are looking at it that yes how I can
[00:15:14] grow as an individual right and learning and development so what what you would what you can share
[00:15:21] so again not a you know like you started as a trainer maybe you start as a trainer but you don't
[00:15:26] stay a trainer you become a facilitator you become sort of a not a developer in the technical sense
[00:15:32] but a developer of people because you're not just looking at it from a single perspective
[00:15:39] you're not just looking at going and delivering training but you're connecting the dots like I said
[00:15:44] you know you're looking at different strategies you're looking at learners more it's not a
[00:15:51] tick in the box you're looking at somebody's holistic development you're looking at their
[00:15:57] career progression you're looking at their development how you can help you know somebody else
[00:16:02] progress in their career so again the basic like you said is the same but there are there are
[00:16:09] more methods there are more strategies there are more ways of facilitating that today
[00:16:14] so from that perspective the role has changed I think also I think there are more platforms to reach
[00:16:21] people today that's you don't necessarily have to be within an organization to be able to
[00:16:28] facilitate learning right yeah social media is a great space for people to be sharing maybe inputs
[00:16:36] and learnings maybe learning themselves that wasn't there before so it's become a more
[00:16:43] interesting space from that perspective yeah yeah I think I think that then also like one thing which
[00:16:51] now I can think of because I have worked with a lot of trainers because I got trained by so many
[00:16:56] people in my career like maybe when I started in my corporate life I haven't seen that the
[00:17:05] trainers were invested in you right invested in you but but now the things which have changed
[00:17:11] in this entire world is that not trainers have invested in you yeah so they have an interest in
[00:17:17] you it's not just a classroom training they will give they will go right they will look
[00:17:22] entire thing holistically and they will work with you for years absolutely it's not just a one
[00:17:27] classroom session or one session where they will train you so this this is very big involvement
[00:17:32] in this entire industry absolutely and that's how learning has progressed I mean more than
[00:17:36] and you know of course it's an individual thing as well because there were invested trainers
[00:17:41] earlier before the whole space got set up right but I think the whole perspective towards learning
[00:17:46] has now changed it's not you know like you say that you walk in you deliver or training and you
[00:17:52] walk off there's a whole bigger plan that one needs to look at how is this tying in with what
[00:17:57] your aspirations are how is this tying in with what the organization's looking at you know where
[00:18:02] are you meeting on a common platform so yeah there is a lot more investment not just from a trainer
[00:18:08] but also from organizations today we've seen spaces where you know learning used to be
[00:18:16] the financial years coming to an end I have some budget you know let me let me get a tick
[00:18:21] against someone's name or that there would be you know like a one solution fits all kind of an
[00:18:27] approach there would be a blanket in terms of learning and development no this skill everybody has
[00:18:32] to do yeah despite the fact that you know somebody might not need it they are already very good at
[00:18:38] it so I think that approach and that thought process has gone undergone a change as well
[00:18:43] learning is now more individualized you know there is a there is a wider lens that we use
[00:18:51] you know when it comes to learning and development so it the industry has evolved so much
[00:18:57] so if someone is starting now right into this field and I don't know if there are certain
[00:19:05] colleges who are providing this as a skill set but if someone is starting new and joined and wants
[00:19:09] to join lndi or this life coach industry where they can train and they can coach people
[00:19:16] what skills they should have okay so the very basic skills that we talk about to other people
[00:19:22] to start with work on yourself work on your listening work on your empathy work on you know
[00:19:29] your people skills by and large when it comes to certification there are private institutes as
[00:19:38] well and private training forms that offer certifications please please please get a certification
[00:19:44] where whether it is learning and development or it is coaching you know there are a lot of times
[00:19:50] that we sit back and think this I know you know or this is not rocket science and I'm not just
[00:19:55] saying it about training or coaching however when you enter the space of structured learning
[00:20:02] yeah or a structured certification program you realize there's so much more to learn than you
[00:20:08] think you know you need it too so work on your own skills right work on your communication as a
[00:20:15] trainer work on being completely unbiased right okay very difficult what you've got to do it right
[00:20:23] unbiased not just in terms of people and preferences and favoritism but unbiased also in terms of
[00:20:30] judging somebody bases their skill level judging somebody bases their
[00:20:37] background or even bases their questions you're right yeah and I you're right it's not an easy
[00:20:44] thing to do it sounds so misuniverse kind of an answer but you know that's where a trainer's
[00:20:49] learning comes into play you've got to constantly evolve yourself if you want to be a successful
[00:20:54] facilitator yeah and when it comes to coaching is very interesting a few a couple of years ago I was
[00:21:01] sharing my insights with the students at a school and after they heard what I do
[00:21:08] somebody who hadn't even cleared grade 12 said I want to be a life coach right off to grade 12
[00:21:13] can I so there is no stopping anybody from getting a certification at any point in like time right
[00:21:20] however my advice to people would always be please get some life experience before you venture
[00:21:26] into you know something like coaching you're not meant to have so for example if I coach you
[00:21:33] today I'm not meant to have BFSI experience you know because I'm not getting into domain
[00:21:41] expertise at all however there are there are things that you can draw from once you've had a
[00:21:47] bit of experience working right and you're able to connect with your coaches a lot better
[00:21:53] and I think this is an ongoing learning process so you you you cannot be a trainer from a day one
[00:22:00] and you cannot be a good trainer from a day one yeah it takes time because you will
[00:22:05] and every person every person is different you have to understand that what's going on in
[00:22:10] their mind as well not everyone's day is exactly the same as you think it will be there will be
[00:22:16] high there will be lows yeah and people will have different moods and and I'm just picking up from
[00:22:22] the story which you said like after 12 if I want to be a trainer I need to gain some experience
[00:22:27] to interact with people right every person is different personality and I have to see that how I can
[00:22:33] control my emotions so that I can coach other person it's I have seen and it applies to me as
[00:22:40] well sometimes I become so emotional when I'm training someone that I think I'm not doing justice
[00:22:46] to it because I'm emotional when I'm emotional I cannot give a neutral training right I cannot be
[00:22:52] unbiased sometimes it's helpful to be emotional too because then you know like like you said
[00:22:58] it isn't that every day is the same or every person's the same or even every situation is the same
[00:23:03] so sometimes getting emotions into the picture makes you a better trainer when it's needed
[00:23:08] and sometimes yes why sometimes all the time you've got to be unbiased in terms of
[00:23:14] not getting sucked into the situation that you are unable to think clearly because as a
[00:23:19] facilitator that's what you've got to do as well or as a coach you can't be emotionally involved
[00:23:24] in the situation you've got to think very objectively and clearly and then you know help the other
[00:23:30] person move along the path that they want to create for themselves so yeah life experience wins
[00:23:38] yes so now you have already talked about a lot of skills which are required but if we if our
[00:23:47] listeners and audience have to pick up four five key skills right which they will need to enter into
[00:23:53] this field other than certifications obviously after graduation or post-credition if they have gained
[00:23:59] certain certification on NLP on life coach and whatever right there's so many certifications are
[00:24:04] available what are the top five skills which are required for individuals because again one more
[00:24:09] one sorry because one more thing which is attached to this and which is I don't know this is
[00:24:15] right or not but it is attached like oh they're more female who will get into this lnd kind of
[00:24:22] environment why because they are good people person right they can relate to they have empathy
[00:24:29] they have they can relate to people but is it is it really true no I think you're right a couple of
[00:24:37] years ago that's stereotype did exist and which is why possibly a lot of you know males wouldn't
[00:24:45] get into the industry but I know but that's not true and though I think it was a stereotype that
[00:24:53] deserves to be in the trash can where it's gone now there is gender equality in learning and
[00:25:00] development as well and I think irrespective of gender I think it is your personality and your
[00:25:07] drive to learn and evolve as an individual that really helps pave the way forward for you so
[00:25:15] I think listening is a fundamental skill which you know we have to constantly keep working on
[00:25:25] the ability to empathize with people to be able to understand where they're coming from to be
[00:25:32] able to understand perspectives openness to different points of view yeah which I find that
[00:25:39] you know sometimes with experience or even within experience we close our minds off yes and then
[00:25:46] forget about the other person's progress your progress is not going to happen and if you don't
[00:25:50] evolve you can't help another evolve you know it's very simple so yeah listening empathizing
[00:25:56] with people keeping an open mind the ability to ask questions and be curious because the moment you
[00:26:04] lose that curiosity it's just end game starts yeah so the ability to ask questions and be
[00:26:11] curious and the ability to articulate your thoughts yeah I think those are some key skills that one
[00:26:20] should have when you're looking at either training or coaching or any form of you know
[00:26:27] facilitation of development you need to have that ambition as well to to train other people right
[00:26:34] you have to have the love yes yes love because everyone loves their own careers yeah right but if
[00:26:40] you start loving other people career they are the good leaders and they can be a good mentors and
[00:26:45] coaches and trainers yeah so that's very important yeah now we all have been hearing about one thing AI
[00:26:55] so and it's getting into nerves of a lot of people like how this will change a lot of industries
[00:27:04] a lot of job profiles so what you think that in the in the past years how AI has helped you
[00:27:11] because I always look AI is a friend yes because it is helping me it is not going to take my job
[00:27:19] right so how you have seen AI in the past that how it has evolved your field where we are today
[00:27:28] I think you rightly said that it's a support it's a friend it's not an enemy whenever something new
[00:27:35] comes there is this fear that oh my god is this going to take my role away yeah but AI is machine
[00:27:42] people are people at the end of the day I'm now going to say that it's not going to have a role to
[00:27:47] play it already has a significant role to play and I'm now going to say that you know we are not
[00:27:53] going to as people have a role to play of course it's going to be a mix and match I think AI
[00:27:58] I'm grateful for it because there is so much more information available there are so many more
[00:28:02] resources and tools available that support learning in development today whether it is reports whether
[00:28:08] it is assessments whether it is you know just having a platform where people can go and research
[00:28:13] you can get information you can't get wisdom that's how I see it right you have
[00:28:22] such engines you go go ahead get information but would you be able to assimilate it without
[00:28:27] that human intervention even when we look at creating let's say virtual training yes
[00:28:35] that doesn't happen automatically you still do need people to go ahead and monitor what's
[00:28:39] happening to create to design to think right because at the end of the day it is people that we're
[00:28:45] dealing with and who better to deal with people than some more people so that's how I see it really
[00:28:51] I'm not I don't think at any point in time I've been afraid that oh my god AI is going to take away
[00:28:56] you know my job or if there is a coaching app that comes in you know a lot of people feel
[00:29:01] that what if it replaces real-time coaches I don't see how I think it can just supplement I think
[00:29:08] even if you do take it up you look at it and you you know become more aware of the whole process
[00:29:14] of coaching I'm sure you will find answers however when you need greater more customized more
[00:29:22] relevant answers and you know creating over path of success for yourself you go back to DOGs
[00:29:30] so that's how I see it no because you you need an empathy
[00:29:37] which which machine cannot provide you and there's a lot that the machines can do that people
[00:29:41] can't do today but I think it's a you go hand in hand um you know you support and you
[00:29:50] rely on the evolution of the other as well yeah and how do you think what are the tools AI will
[00:29:58] provide you in the future which will help this entire process of mentoring and coaching
[00:30:04] you think there will be more evolution which is still pending I'm sure there's lots of evolution
[00:30:13] and you shouldn't by the way never say never to anything right I'm sure there's a lot more
[00:30:18] that we still haven't thought about we haven't explored who would have thought that you enter key
[00:30:23] words and you get all the information that you want from you know a chat it's like a chat
[00:30:29] bot giving you answers that you never expected from it there are movies that are now being made on
[00:30:35] robos playing humans etc right so never say never I'm sure there's a lot more that we can gain
[00:30:41] in terms of support and resources from AI I'm sure there's a lot of assessments that can come
[00:30:46] through I'm sure there's a lot of research um you know that will come forth that will help us
[00:30:52] evolve into better learners facilitators and coaches for sure what it might be I wish I knew
[00:30:59] I'd be the richest person sitting here then yeah okay so this one more one more question which
[00:31:07] I think which is important for a lot of people people want to pivot into this right we all
[00:31:13] we already heard from you the top skills which will be required but what
[00:31:20] what exactly people should look up to when they are thinking of pivoting into learning and
[00:31:26] development okay so one could be training certifications that exist there are institutes like
[00:31:31] ISTD where you can take up a training certification which doesn't just delve into how you facilitate
[00:31:39] training but all the associated aspects of training right so that's something that you can take up
[00:31:45] but look at what adds to learning and development as well because it's not a uni-dimensional
[00:31:52] thing that you've got to do so um maybe associate a topics that you can keep getting yourself
[00:31:59] trained on you know whether it is assessment personality assessments whether it is
[00:32:07] learning technical skills so gamification is a big part of training today so how is it that you
[00:32:13] can understand that better if not execute it yourself right if you're not developing the app but
[00:32:19] how do you understand that how do you broaden your horizon in terms of how training can be
[00:32:25] sort of delivered right or you look at NLP neural linguistic programming right you can look at
[00:32:31] psychology because it helps you understand people better yes yeah that's something that I'm going
[00:32:35] to do I'm gonna pick up a psychology as a study okay because one I fascinated I'm fascinated by
[00:32:43] people right but I think it really really helps when you're delivering training so a lot of people
[00:32:50] only think of skills in terms of you know I pick up a piece of content and then I go deliver training
[00:32:56] so skills are not always going to be that black in white you will pick up and train yourself on
[00:33:00] skills that will help you enhance how you deliver training and how you facilitate learning so
[00:33:06] you can look at associated skills like that as well right today when we look at schools everybody is
[00:33:12] getting the know how on how to build a website yeah so yeah those are those are skills that are
[00:33:18] going to be important look at gamification yeah how do you how do you make trainings my interesting
[00:33:24] look at software is that helping platforms like kahoot right yeah absolutely right or or if you
[00:33:30] want to put out information you know then then look at what are the tools available how do you go
[00:33:37] ahead and create that information there's so much it's endless pretty much so yes get your
[00:33:43] training certification when you and if you want to be a life coach go ahead and look into that
[00:33:48] certification as well and then look at what adds to what you now know and keep adding that to your
[00:33:56] basket thanks thanks is the one thing which is left I think we started it your current venture
[00:34:03] right so what exactly you are doing there it's an interesting name as well skills infinitor yes
[00:34:09] yes it means limitless learning because I truly believe that learning is limitless
[00:34:15] what am I doing I'm a one person army and intentionally so but I work with individuals I work
[00:34:22] with organizations facilitating learning in communication and leadership skills looking at different
[00:34:28] strategies of how to make for learning more important non-important but interesting so looking
[00:34:36] at different strategies to make learning more interesting for existing you know clients or for
[00:34:43] newer clients and then coaching I think is a big big game changer you know because it just
[00:34:51] doesn't focus on structured learning but it helps you self reflect and create a pathway yourself
[00:34:57] and you know when we say coaching sorry I'm just going to go into a little bit of that but
[00:35:02] a lot of people like training mistake it for something that's remedial that you only get when
[00:35:07] there's something wrong in life I don't think so I think that perspective thankfully is also
[00:35:13] beginning to change yeah um training and coaching are things that help you move ahead
[00:35:22] I for example I I quote somebody once who been there done that super successful leader
[00:35:28] and when we sat down for a session said now what do I do so you know there are different kinds of
[00:35:35] crossroads as well and it doesn't always have to be a challenge please reward yourself with
[00:35:41] training in coaching and that's that's what my aim is to help people reward themselves with learning
[00:35:49] now I can think like what you said right training used to look at like oh there is some challenge in
[00:35:56] me yep and that's why my senior has put me in a training program but now people strive for
[00:36:02] training absolutely because that's how you learn you develop new skillset yeah and you become a
[00:36:07] better leader absolutely and and please take up skills that are not related to your job as well
[00:36:14] yeah so there are lots of guitars where we are sitting right but please take up a skill that's not
[00:36:20] related it just makes you a better um functioning person in your personal space and your professional
[00:36:29] space as well yeah especially when you have lots and lots of years of experience please do it
[00:36:33] for sure it takes you back to your initial days and so empathy develops yeah great great thanks
[00:36:41] Yiti thanks let's I think we had a very good conversation on this topic we will move to another
[00:36:47] section now we'll not talk about learning anymore we will talk more about you and would like to
[00:36:54] hear more about how you have been from the last 24 years what are you doing and other things
[00:37:00] not related to work I'm feeling very old at the moment though but yeah sure go ahead great so
[00:37:09] now the first thing I think which came up from top of my mind is you must be reading a lot yes I do
[00:37:15] so GTS charge any any two three big switch you can recommend to our listeners oh wow okay I'm
[00:37:22] rather than just books yeah actually two fiction you know pieces of fiction that I'm really really
[00:37:29] like one is Tikiya Mockingbar word by Hapali and the other is wise and otherwise by Sudha Muthi
[00:37:38] you know the second the first one talks about and I think drives home integrity and honesty and all
[00:37:44] of that yeah and standing tall in the harshest of challenges that's my learning from that
[00:37:51] and Sudha Muthi so simple yet pragmatic you know life experiences and it's just shared so simply
[00:37:58] and so humbly that it's just something that I these are two books so if you're a friend of mine
[00:38:04] then you've had those two books from me but yeah these two and I think Simon Sinek is somebody
[00:38:14] that's a you know an exciting read for me so pick up a book by Simon Sinek anyone great thank you
[00:38:24] I think I will pick up at least one book from this back it though I will give to you okay
[00:38:30] that will be great yeah what's what's success for you because you you said you're a one woman army
[00:38:38] right so what's success for you so I have my own definition of success I am not in a race with
[00:38:45] anybody I'm not in a hurry I am also not somebody that you know does things for the heck of it
[00:38:54] whether it is for myself or for my clients and I will say it as is sometimes you might not like
[00:39:01] what I'm telling you because you want to hear something different but I will say it as is
[00:39:06] my definition of success is doing exactly what I'm doing right now so I might not be a
[00:39:14] traditionally multi billion dollar or whatever company right but I think I'm able to do good work
[00:39:21] I'm able to learn at the same time I'm able to make an actual impact on lives and circle back
[00:39:28] to see how that is working out for me that is success for me success is constantly evolving constantly
[00:39:36] learning bettering myself to be able to do a better job for me success is not just being a professional
[00:39:45] but to have something to talk about in my personal life as well you know so yeah that's success for me
[00:39:52] really because I'm not just my job I'm so much more yes but we have a world outside of our work
[00:40:01] absolutely but I think unfortunately a lot of us forget it so when I was just going back home for
[00:40:07] half and now I think I'd forgotten it then but yeah it's so much more important to to have many
[00:40:15] facets to yourself not just one yeah one one last one person whose brain you could pick
[00:40:22] oh wow interesting one because I know you have been interacting with so many people and
[00:40:28] read so many things so I think my person favorite is Sudha Moti because I think she's so wise
[00:40:37] and she's practical and she is her own person you know when you watch her speak she's in somebody's
[00:40:46] wife she is her own person and she's created that space and niche so I think she is definitely
[00:40:53] the top of my list but I'm going to pick the brains of a couple of other people trainer but
[00:41:00] Marshall Goldsmith is somebody I've met him as well but you know in that interaction group interaction
[00:41:06] you don't get to pick that person's brain so much but I think I got into coaching because
[00:41:11] of Marshall Goldsmith in the sense that I saw how much he would give to people
[00:41:18] and that's something that comes naturally to me as well giving back so yeah his brains and
[00:41:24] how it functions and you know and who else I think Michelle Obama is somebody else that I
[00:41:31] whose brains I'd like to pick nice interesting combination yes and Sadguru his brains everybody
[00:41:39] keeps speaking but yeah I love how he explains things and how he's so he's so with it nice nice
[00:41:47] thanks to ity thanks a lot for being our guest today yeah and it's great learning so many
[00:41:52] learnings from you yeah thank you for having me and once we got please take out your notebook and
[00:42:00] not feeling but thank you and I'm super super proud of you and this is what you're doing is fantastic
[00:42:06] hats off thank you thanks Aditi so this was our episode with Aditi so we have learned so much about
[00:42:13] this learning and development as a profile we we learned that we have to be good with listening skills

[00:42:26] so these are the key skills if you are planning to move into this particular profiles
