[00:00:00] Hello and welcome to another episode of the startup operator round up.

[00:00:04] I am Roshan Karyapa and as you can see, I don't have a bottle of beer.

[00:00:10] And I am Gungin Sah with this amazing bottle of home brewed beer.

[00:00:14] Before starting this episode, let's introduce you to the topics.

[00:00:19] Well, before that we should also give a shout out for the beer thanks Gavesh for the stock

[00:00:24] and supply. The new startup by Gunnage Balakrishnan we had on the podcast earlier and this company aims to provide high-tech, local services. So, it's definitely a new topic we'll be exploring in the podcast. So, stay tuned for these discussions. If you are a regular listener of the startup operator podcast, then please do like, share this video with your operator friends. And if this is the first time you are joining, please consider subscribing to our channel

[00:01:42] for we have some fantastic discussions related to startups and what's happening in the Indian

[00:01:46] ecosystem.

[00:01:47] So, let I should say. This week also we had the release of the eight Navy personnel from Qatar, which was big news. I mean these folks etc. Everything Indian, under one store. Similar to the Dragon Mart here. Aside from that, what Gunjan mentioned, which is the UPI is now cross-border with the UAE.

[00:04:22] And considering that we have almost 20% of all parameters, at least from the digital public infrastructure front, we are a first world country. We have the kind of infrastructure and the services that any other country anywhere in the world would envy. Our payments are seamless and the sort of

[00:06:45] Yeah, and also when this announcement was made in the media it was shown that Prime Minister Modi is giving a

[00:06:50] Rupi credit card to the U.A. President Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nayan and

[00:06:55] Their romance has been has been strong brother Zayed

[00:07:05] Okay, all right now, let's talk what probably everyone is talking about this week open-aged soo-ra soo-ra So, if the excitement dies out, then we'll be seeing the real use cases for AI video generation. So, what are your thoughts on these? I mean, I was just seeing some of those videos that were generated based on people's prompts. Sam had this tweet asking people for interesting prompts and there were all kinds. Like, Ajapura Fly ever completed with Charles.

[00:08:22] Well, I mean, I didn't see a video of that.

[00:08:25] But one can dream for sure. At this point of time, I think they're working with some of these regulators and so on and so forth to figure out the guardrails, checks and balances and so on and so forth. So, yeah, let's see what happens, but my personal entertainment is going to get to a different level with this. Is there a chain in the next two decisions? Yeah, so I saw this tweet, someone had put out that, you know, in the 90s or whatever, you had these VHS cassettes and then you mean, fantastic. Yeah, the possibilities are truly endless. And AI is like an invention of the internet sort of a moment, I feel. And in Pakistan's elections, we are seeing the case of how Imran Khan is using deepfakes to propagate an agenda.

[00:11:01] So for example, in the case of Pakistan,

[00:11:03] we are seeing how Imran Khan is using AI generated video

[00:11:06] content to further his agenda and give a competition So let me preface this by saying that I was terribly wrong about this. I thought the gaming industry will be incinerated by the additional taxes and whatnot. But seems as though they've managed to hold up and they're doing reasonably well. It is advantages to them that of course, I mean their users wouldn't really make rational choices about things like gaming,

[00:12:24] which tend to have an's expansion and growth. Now, Raptors expansion of Zero Commission model could have significant implications for other ride out the business economics as such. It's definitely not sustainable to offer discounts. Discounts are long gone anyway. But crazy atrocious search prices at one end and similar commissions as well. So, subscription could be the way out.

[00:16:02] We'll have to have a chat with you sometime. Yeah, do check out the episode.

[00:16:04] We shot about a year back, year and half back, I think.

[00:16:07] Yeah, yeah.

[00:16:08] The flatheads one, right?

[00:16:10] Down but not out.

[00:16:12] So yeah, now on to the big announcement from the week.

[00:16:16] Most of the funding last week was raised by Indian startups

[00:16:19] that particularly don't fall under the favored categories,

[00:16:22] like e-commerce, fintech, or ettech,

[00:16:23] but it's good to see some action going on.

[00:16:26] Captain Fresh, which is a B done by tech reviewers and tech influencers? Here we have, you know, the CEO of probably one of the largest tech companies in the world

[00:17:40] coming out and directly talking about competition and reviewing their product.

[00:17:44] What is that? But having said that, it was good. It was in stark contrast to what someone like a Tim Cook would do, right? Obviously not. Tim Cook would not supposedly like. But that also on that point, right? Tim Cook is a CEO. But Mark Zuckerberg is not only the CEO as the founder of a startup.

[00:19:01] Yeah, that's the difference that I think a lot of people

[00:19:04] noticed as well, right?

[00:19:06] And it's good I mean we're in the times of you know CEO's kind of shit posting Each other so yeah great stuff. Yeah Awesome, so I guess with that I'm also done with my beer and we're also at the end of this week's roundup

[00:20:22] It's a bloody miracle that we're getting through this

[00:20:25] You know the end of the podcast why not

[00:21:25] interesting company Banzu that is transforming math education in India. I think it's a very pertinent need.

[00:21:27] Hey, so yeah.

[00:21:29] Hey, I mean, I just meant in general, I mean, I was not talking about you.

[00:21:35] I think a few people might recollect the billions conversation from some roundups ago, right?

[00:21:42] So yeah, yeah.

[00:21:43] All right, folks, that's it for this week's roundup.

[00:21:47] We hope you have a fantastic week ahead.
