Welcome welcome to the last episode of the first season of the Cuterus Podcast. As we are prepping the next season, we thought it will be good to take you on a slightly different journey. [00:00:00] Hello, Hello, Hello and welcome to the Season Finale of the Dr. Cuterus Podcast.

[00:00:09] Hanji, we have come to the final of the series.

[00:00:13] And while in this season we have learnt so much starting from skin to brain to penis to semen

[00:00:19] to period, we have learnt a little bit about the topic.

[00:00:23] We will turn the tables and ask me some uncomfortable questions.

[00:00:28] Some people who have either been on the podcast or worked on my podcast.

[00:00:32] Very much so.

[00:00:34] And to begin this super special episode I have an uncomfortable question from my mother.

[00:00:40] The great Dr. Abhilasha Chaturvedi, who is probably going to ask me something super uncomfortable.

[00:00:45] So mummy, what do you want to ask me?

[00:00:47] Hello, dear.

[00:00:48] I want to ask you that you are a doctor after taking so much studies and you are being made on the internet.

[00:00:58] Is there any hope to come back to the hospital?

[00:01:04] So mummy has taken a lot of effort.

[00:01:07] So I have a very interesting job description.

[00:01:10] I am a doctor and I am a content creator and I am an author.

[00:01:13] I am a podcaster and my mother thinks this is hilarious.

[00:01:17] So back in Alahabad we have a hospital, we have our own centre and mummy wants to know why I decided to leave that and do a podcast.

[00:01:26] So Anza is not so much fun with the series.

[00:01:30] Basically I really like to learn and to share with people why our bodies are amazing.

[00:01:37] I went to medical college for the first time and I said, this is also my body.

[00:01:42] This is also our brain.

[00:01:44] It is very cool.

[00:01:46] And it just instills the sense of wonder in me.

[00:01:49] And I feel like every time I think about the human body, I get to see a 5 year old child.

[00:01:53] And I say wow!

[00:01:55] I am quite pathetic but I am really in love with medicine and I wanted to share that love with more people.

[00:02:01] And I thought that today we have all our dreams.

[00:02:04] We have also our own mind.

[00:02:05] We can do podcasts on that and social media.

[00:02:08] I just wanted to share my passion with the world.

[00:02:10] I am very happy with the world.

[00:02:12] That's it. Sorry mummy, sorry I will be in hospital and I will be back soon.

[00:02:16] Now this is the question from the most special question asked by mummy.

[00:02:20] I would have to make a podcast without my mother.

[00:02:23] But the next question we have is from Krish Ashok.

[00:02:26] His episode aired on the 31st of May, it is the 9th episode called Food and Science,

[00:02:31] The Secret to Healthy Eating.

[00:02:33] And we talked about some really fun things about the science of eating.

[00:02:38] And his question is...

[00:02:40] My name is Krish Ashok, author of Masala Lab, Science of Indian Cooking,

[00:02:45] Instagram handle, underscore Masala Lab.

[00:02:48] My question to Dr. Kutaris is that a lot of people in India currently believe

[00:02:54] that the current kind of lifestyle and food and diet is causing early puberty in girls.

[00:03:02] Is this true? Are there any other reasons for this? That's my question.

[00:03:07] Oh wow, that's a wonderful question and I am so glad he has asked this.

[00:03:10] Because today we also say that you know our food habits are changing

[00:03:14] that's why women are getting periods... girls are getting periods earlier.

[00:03:17] Some people say that they are less age than the age of the Chaumin Khak.

[00:03:20] So the answer is a little bit complicated.

[00:03:22] Basically yes, periods have gotten earlier but there are a number of reasons for it.

[00:03:26] The first thing is that our history of mankind has never been so food security.

[00:03:31] Historically we have never had such good access to food.

[00:03:34] So basically we understand that periods are very metabolically intense process.

[00:03:41] When you have something less then your body doesn't want to waste its resources.

[00:03:45] That's why during prehistoric times when I had food less,

[00:03:49] security less, then the body periods started from late at night.

[00:03:53] We were not well fed, we were not good at hormonal status.

[00:03:56] The periods started from late at night and the problem was that we were pregnant.

[00:04:01] So periods were not that bad.

[00:04:03] Never before in human history have people menstruated for this long without any interruption.

[00:04:10] So better nutritional status is definitely a big contributor to why periods are happening early.

[00:04:16] There are things called endocrine disrupting chemicals, EDCs.

[00:04:21] That kind of mimic how natural hormones work.

[00:04:24] These are environmental polluters, these are plastic and there are a lot of things we get.

[00:04:29] A little limited evidence on how these work and how they cause early puberty.

[00:04:34] But hair roll, I can say so much.

[00:04:36] But there is no such a big role that it's the same problem.

[00:04:39] Our food, our overall better nutritional status and overall better health.

[00:04:46] And overall better security, all of these things have made us basically prepared to have a baby earlier on.

[00:04:54] Because puberty is in the heart.

[00:04:55] The start of puberty is your body getting ready to have a baby.

[00:04:58] And yes, it's very stupid but human beings get ready to get ready for everything.

[00:05:02] Which has all of these things together have led to periods coming on a little bit earlier.

[00:05:08] But it's not like we eat this period early.

[00:05:12] So this was a big science question.

[00:05:15] Now let's answer a very big question.

[00:05:18] This question is coming from my friend Dr. Riddhima Shetty,

[00:05:22] who is known as Friendly Neighborhood OBGYN.

[00:05:25] She was on the 11th episode of the podcast aired on 23rd June.

[00:05:29] Taps, mirrors and period science featuring Dr. Riddhima Shetty.

[00:05:33] So Riddhima what's your question?

[00:05:35] Hey Dr. Q. Triss, I'm Dr. Riddhima Shetty, also known as Friendly Neighborhood OBGYN on Instagram

[00:05:43] and I want to ask you what is the weirdest DM you've ever received on Instagram from a random stranger.

[00:05:51] Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.

[00:05:52] This is a very weird question.

[00:05:56] I think there's a new one every day.

[00:05:58] Every day I'm blown away by the sheer creativity of the question asked us in my DMs and in my Gmail inbox.

[00:06:03] But out of these all, one that really stands out is something that I got in my email,

[00:06:08] I think two years back.

[00:06:09] So in two years my email also gets sent to me and I see that email.

[00:06:12] The email said that the subject was written in this incest, okay?

[00:06:16] And in the body I really want to bang my mother.

[00:06:20] And today I think that I wanted to inform my person, ask me or troll me.

[00:06:30] I used to go to the hospital for a lot of weird questions but I could make an Excel sheet out of the weirdest questions I receive every day

[00:06:39] and it would be strange.

[00:06:44] Now why this stuff happens is I don't know...

[00:06:47] The first thing is I'm a woman creator on the internet so that already makes me an easy target.

[00:06:52] Secondly, I'm a woman creator on the internet who talks about sex which makes me an easier target.

[00:06:57] And yeah, I guess it could be trolling.

[00:07:01] It could be that there is genuinely no sex education in this country and it could also be not just this country, this world.

[00:07:07] And it could also be the fact that article porn is very popular in this incest.

[00:07:11] So maybe people usually think of this as a genuinely unique thing.

[00:07:14] I don't know why it happens but this is a very common question that I get very often.

[00:07:19] But no judgement if you're asking me this question but this particular email was freezing it so much.

[00:07:24] I really want to bang my mom.

[00:07:26] It just stands out really funny in my head.

[00:07:29] So thank you Rhythmav for this question although this answer is a little philosophical but no one else.

[00:07:35] The next question is from our guest Dr Agni.

[00:07:39] Dr Agni was one of the first few guests on my podcast.

[00:07:44] You can hear him on the fourth episode which aired on 29th of March.

[00:07:50] A dermatologist gets under your skin.

[00:07:52] So Dr Agni, what do you want to ask?

[00:07:55] My question to you Thaneya, Dr Qutris is that I get a lot of patients with pigmentation over the generals

[00:08:02] and they come to me for procedures such as vaginal lightening, that is skin lightening

[00:08:07] and vaginal tightening, Dr Childbirth and delivery.

[00:08:10] So my question to you is because you know you specialize in that area

[00:08:13] and your area of expertise is that anatomy.

[00:08:15] How do you deal with such requests?

[00:08:17] And where do you draw the line between you as a doctor

[00:08:20] and your medical ethics and morals and for patient safety?

[00:08:24] And you as a service provider because at the end of the day

[00:08:27] we have to cater to our patients needs and wishes.

[00:08:30] So how do you go about it?

[00:08:31] Oh that's a wonderful question Agni.

[00:08:33] Thank you for asking that because genuinely hospital people ask a lot of patients

[00:08:36] how to do vaginal lightening and pigmentation is good.

[00:08:42] So first I want to explain that vaginal is the most important thing but I am pedantic.

[00:08:48] So let's move ahead.

[00:08:49] I think it's at the end of the day a personal decision if someone is to do it, then they will do it.

[00:08:55] I don't think there is going to be anything to do with it.

[00:08:57] But if somebody does come to me asking about pigmentation in their genital parts

[00:09:02] and how they can get rid of it, I usually just sit down and I counsel them.

[00:09:06] Look at our body, there are some natural changes in the time of puberty

[00:09:11] which are pigmentation.

[00:09:13] But this is very normal especially in Indian tones.

[00:09:17] And there is no need for treatment for this.

[00:09:19] I also try to explain to them that sometimes this treatment can be harmful.

[00:09:23] It's a very strong, aggressive bleaching agency used.

[00:09:26] It has a very intense exfoliation.

[00:09:29] It's funnily enough that it's the side effect of which skin can't be dark.

[00:09:33] They might end up complicating the problem further.

[00:09:36] I'll explain all this.

[00:09:38] If they want to listen then they will listen.

[00:09:40] Sometimes people are very caught up in their insecurity and they are unable to receive this message.

[00:09:45] And if it happens like this then I just tell them to go to somebody who will offer that service

[00:09:49] because I can't offer it.

[00:09:50] It just doesn't sit right with my ethics.

[00:09:53] It doesn't sit right with what I believe in because in my medicine we learn

[00:09:58] and first of all we do know how.

[00:10:00] So this is a little bit of a do know how to do it for me.

[00:10:02] But yeah thank you for asking this question.

[00:10:05] Okay so that was all the questions from our fabulous guests.

[00:10:09] But Abhiv Meerepar is behind the scenes question.

[00:10:12] The next question is from Aditya Matu.

[00:10:15] Aditya is the producer of this podcast and a good friend of mine.

[00:10:19] Aditya what do you want to ask me?

[00:10:21] Hey Tanayya thank you so much for having me here.

[00:10:23] And first of all congratulations to us on a great season.

[00:10:26] I want to speak to you about being a content creator.

[00:10:30] We have talked about science and society in this season.

[00:10:34] We have talked about bodies in this season.

[00:10:36] We have talked about well-being.

[00:10:38] I have a question to you about your work as a social media creator and educator.

[00:10:43] You have been on Instagram for a long time.

[00:10:46] You are on YouTube and now podcasting.

[00:10:50] First tell me what did you think it would be like and what it was like?

[00:10:56] And then number two what kind of differences do you see between other formats and audio?

[00:11:01] Bye!

[00:11:05] It was a lot of fun.

[00:11:08] I think what it was like so I expected it to be that we will talk about serious studies in the studio.

[00:11:15] But no I think I really enjoy it.

[00:11:17] It's good to have a team because the biggest difference for me is that in my work on social media

[00:11:23] I do everything on my own because my flow is like this.

[00:11:27] I started my own and I still do my own.

[00:11:30] I have some interns that help me out but some very nice interns by the way.

[00:11:34] I shout out to Uttar and Priya and I really make my life easier and also big shout out to Srishti

[00:11:38] And also big shout out to the whole idea of Roost team.

[00:11:41] But the podcast was a very different medium.

[00:11:46] I did not know that voice modulation is so important to me.

[00:11:51] I did not know how energy comes into my mind.

[00:11:55] I did not know how much your inflection and the way you are saying things can change the whole message.

[00:12:02] So it was a fun learning experience that way.

[00:12:06] And engagement doesn't come in such a good way.

[00:12:10] Social media is a good photo and everyone is fine.

[00:12:14] So that would be my only complaint but I really love it.

[00:12:17] Thank you for that question.

[00:12:18] Okay I am going to throw one more question.

[00:12:20] When is the next season coming out?

[00:12:22] So with this amazing question I am going to end this amazing episode

[00:12:26] because the next season of the Dr. Qutra's podcast comes out in October

[00:12:30] and I can't wait to share it all with you.

[00:12:33] So remember, if you haven't followed me then please follow me.

[00:12:36] If you are loving me then please give a review

[00:12:38] and share this podcast with other people so we can entertain you

[00:12:42] and infotain you and educate you with some even more fun questions

[00:12:47] in the next season of the Dr. Qutra's podcast.

[00:12:50] See you in October. Bye!

[00:13:00] Thank you.
