[00:00:08] Hello and welcome to another episode of The Corner Flag. It is finally over, the season is over, good fucking riddance. Let's move on to what is going to come next, which is hopefully not so much heartbreak for Man United fans like me.
[00:00:25] Joining me today is Mukesh Manjunath, who is looking very sad right now, but internally and very soon externally also is going to be very, very happy. Mukesh, how's it going? And describe your feelings in three words. It's over. I'm sad and it's over. It was so good while it lasted. Was it good? Was it really good? It really wasn't. It really wasn't.
[00:00:55] It's so nice to generally walk around with a smile on your face. I've forgotten what that feels like. Every weekend. Oh, reason to smile. No matter what happened. I knew Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday night. I would be a happy man. Yeah, you know what's weird is I have forgotten what that feeling feels like and also I don't know what it's like to look forward to a new season anymore. Because I'm sure that you as a Liverpool fan are waiting for next season. Yeah.
[00:01:24] Because there are goals and targets and there are aims and ambitions. Yeah. There are goals and there are targets and there isn't Rasmus Hoyland at the end of it. So… I don't know if I'm going to be a new David Nunez. It's even better. I get that. That part I get.
[00:02:07] Yeah. You're spending more and more time with us at the corner flag and you're spending more and more time with Mukesh. You're becoming like Mukesh. That's a good thing. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? That's a good thing in the corner flag world. I leave that for you guys to decide and for our viewers to decide. The reason why I was late, sorry about that. A friend of mine, she is at the Liverpool parade as we speak. So… Oh man, Amok. Wow.
[00:02:36] Suraj has received a missed call. Now he's Mukesh. Yeah. Amok, remember when my reasons were like, hey, I'm making egg puff or something like that. And that's why I was late. I was finding my charger. I couldn't find my charger also. That's also… Yeah, now that sounds like… Now. Now. I just found it. It was under the cushion. I don't know. Yes, yes. That is very Mukesh of you. But yes, it is done. Liverpool are officially champions of England for the 20th time.
[00:03:05] Credit where it's due. We have some comments in this thing also, in the live chat also. Mo has said congratulations to Liverpool. So yes, well, congratulations to Liverpool. It is. And yeah, man. How did it feel to see your team lift up the trophy in front of fans this time? Mukesh, you can go ahead and post. It was my most satisfying team. It was so nice.
[00:03:35] There was like, I think Benitez was there. Dan Nils was there. Gerard was there. Alan Hansen was there. Wait. Did you say Lord Scarius was there? No. Mukesh, you were forgetting someone very important. Okay. Jordan Henderson. Jordan Henderson. Wait. Was it? Did you say Carrius after Benitez? No. Kenny Dalclish. Kenny Dalclish. Okay.
[00:04:02] I was wondering how did Loris Carrius get an entry pass into this stadium? He was blacklisting. He was there. But yeah. Most important also, Trent Alexander-Arnold was there. He had some words to say. He wasn't good. At the right back position for a lot of the game. But still, he was there. Yeah. No more salt. No more salt. No more salt. No more salt. Now it's done. It's over. You added enough salt. Yeah.
[00:04:32] To your egg pav. Humphrey has said egg pav. It wasn't. Wasn't it Paneer Burji? Very well-spotted Humphrey. This is an old-time listener. Wow. Well done. It was Paneer Burji. Excellent. It was Paneer Burji. But… Wow. We are such good listeners, man. We have only three of them. But they're all very good. Wanted your quality, guys. Yeah. So, yeah. All in all, fantastic day out for Liverpool fans.
[00:05:02] Like Nathan has said, few of your friends are at the parade. Which is, again, great for… Them. I don't know how I'm doing this with a straight face. I don't know how I'm… I'm okay. They need to show some class. You know how Liverpool gave… She gave Palace. With Palace, the guard of honor. Yes. You need to learn from that. That's why you need to watch Liverpool games also. Exactly. No, no. That was… So, fair enough. You know, credit where it is due. That was a touch of absolute class by Liverpool. And you cannot argue with that.
[00:05:32] So, well done, Liverpool, on that. I just hope from a Man United perspective that this just wakes the fucking club up a little bit. It's not a thing, man. I hope you said something. No, no. Now, at the big start of this, when I came in, I said that the storm is coming. Now, the good days are coming. How do you say something? See, he has quoted a very influential person from India who we cannot name. He's a poet. He loves his tea. Yes.
[00:06:02] He loves… He loves… He loves minorities. He loves… He loves traveling by train. Yeah. And… If Nathan's on a train, that guy is on it for sure. Yeah. And he basically quoted this great poet from this country and said the good days are coming. Achse Dhin. It's also very funny. Aane wale. Yeah. Now, if we have to make a direct comparison, do you think Achse Dhin aagai? I don't know.
[00:06:31] The jury is still out on whether the good days have come or not. So, you know, I will… For who? For… For… For the country and… For United, definitely not. For the country, definitely not also. I'm kidding. Guys, guys, guys. We are going live at all now. Like, thoda listenership bhande wala hai. So, let's… Let's be very… Yeah. Mindful of what we say. Mukesh spoke about Pani Burji and he became Burji himself. Yeah.
[00:07:02] For all you know, next week, we are just like, Mukesh, where are you? Mukesh is always late, man. Mukesh, where are you? We are like 30 minutes late. Mukesh is not coming at all. Late forever. Yeah. He's late forever. Late, mister. Oh, the things we do to make us feel good about ourselves. But no, it was… It was… We'll talk about United, of course. But let's, again, talk about Liverpool a little bit more because you guys are also here.
[00:07:31] You have your Liverpool scarf on, Nathan. So, I mean… I feel like he's not taken it off since last week, by the way. Oh, I was at Rasta. I went for the LFC Mumbai screening and said, what a vibe. Yeah. Yeah. And you could see, like, all different generations. You know, there were some slightly older folk. There were some 18-year-old, 16-year-old. Then there were the 30s, 40s. It was nice. And everyone… Sorry. Sorry.
[00:08:01] I'm going to cut you off. I'm going to cut you off. When you said older folk, there were 18-year-olds. That really made you sound like a 12-year-old. Hey, 11. Okay. Done. He said older folks and 18-year-olds. I said that. Yeah. I think I said that. Yeah. Mukesh has been let down by technology yet again. Technology. Airphones. Airphones. Get better earphones. No, but yeah. The LFC screenings are good for sure.
[00:08:30] The LFC screenings, I think, are… Dude, these guys are fucking hard. They sing this… There's this one guy. I don't know his name. But, like, he's part of the Oknes in Kimoni. He sings, dances. He leads the crowd. And what a great host. I'm like, should I take inspiration? Sometimes you'll come to three wise monkeys for United screenings. Especially when we're winning. Yeah. There's an asterisk over there. Next time, I will come for the United Liverpool game. Wearing a Liverpool shirt.
[00:09:00] At… I mean, will I be able to get out? I mean, you have a death wish, then sure. I would try this once, you know. Just wear a… Look. No. Three wise monkeys. Three wise monkeys. They're on the car station railway tracks. Bro. And then they're in the body. In the body. Happened on us. Anyways. So, like, you. You enter that general area. That general area is filled with violence. So, you know. And no questions will be asked after.
[00:09:30] So, you think twice about whether you really want to come or not. You can come wearing a United jersey, I think. Just to be safe. And then maybe an orange jersey. I don't know. Something else. Either red jersey or orange jersey. Red or orange. I'll wear a Liverpool jersey inside. On top, I'll wear a red t-shirt. Just a t-shirt. And then finally… Wear a green Liverpool t-shirt. Away jersey. Where is the next season? Green. That's what I'm saying. Oh, that looks killer bro. We'll wear that Liverpool jersey.
[00:10:00] And we'll see where you get killed. He has three wise monkeys for United supporters. For what reason? Yeah. Habitat at a car. And general train related violence. This is a social experiment we would love to find the results out for. Unfortunately, Nathan, you are the subject of this experiment. And your life is most at risk. But I am sure viewers will want to know what happens. So, we should figure this out. But yes.
[00:10:30] Yeah. Fuck, man. Fucking Liverpool. Well done and all. Signings we can run all over. Amok, what? What? Fucking what? You know, exactly. When you get your mic closer and it actually feels better. So, keep doing that only. But what did you say? I couldn't hear you. I said… I didn't watch the thing, you know. I'm sorry. What are you saying? I said, well done, Liverpool. Credit where it's due. Well done.
[00:10:59] But I didn't watch the trophy celebration. Because of course, I couldn't. My wife was like, you're not going to watch it all. We've been married for four years. How do you not know this about me? What is happening? I do it yesterday. Rohit George, who has also been on this podcast and fellow comedian. He called me up yesterday. Hey, see. What's happening? And I'm like, good, good, good. I mean, we spoke about general stuff and all. And I'm like, how is it trying to process the Spurs loss? I'm like, bro, please don't get me started.
[00:11:29] And we just went on ranting and everything. I'm like, okay, so will you be watching the trophy? Are you fucking crazy? I'm going to sleep at 9pm today. I haven't heard from him since. Yeah. Yeah. No, fair enough. Fair enough. But fucking, I'll tell you what, like, you as a United fan, you obviously do not want Liverpool to have any sort of success. That's just how it is.
[00:11:55] And then when it happens, when you eventually do get the success as Liverpool, from the United perspective, it's like, okay, it's slots. Firstly, after Klopp went in slot, they were like, okay, slot first season, they haven't even made transfers. They're not going to do anything. Yeah. I was thinking the same. Yeah. Then they started playing really well. They went on a run. They were only beaten by Nottingham Forest after that. And especially after that Nottingham Forest defeat earlier on in the season, they're saying, they're losing again in Nottingham Forest. What are we doing? What is happening?
[00:12:24] And City is only going to win again. And for United fans, if City keeps winning, it's fine. It doesn't matter. Nobody gives a shit. But you cannot have Liverpool. All fans, not just the United fans. Exactly. So then after that, after that happens and Liverpool are ranging closer and closer to the title, you're making up excuses in your head. It's okay, first season can be a fluke, but second season, we'll see what happens. You know, second season, they'll be caught out. Then there was a whole thing of Asala's not going to sign, Virgil's not going to sign.
[00:12:53] So they're like, now all their main players are also going. They're not even getting any money from them. They will go on free transfers. Then the two of them signed. Only Trent is going. So they're like, fuck. I will see. He didn't get any transfers in the first transfer window. So it'll go on. They'll have issues in the transfer window. But even that's not happening, Benchot. You fucking got Florian Wurtz also now. Oh, it's been confirmed. It's as good as confirmed. Honestly, yeah, exactly. Bayern Munich have come out and said that we are pulling out of the race because it's true.
[00:13:22] He wants to go to Liverpool. He wants to go to Liverpool and Liverpool want him. Only Frimpong is confirmed then. What's his name? Kirkus. He's got 80%. Okay, I'm just waiting for this year we go. Once this year we go comes and then I'm like, okay. I just have put so much of faith in Fabrizio not suddenly. I don't trust any other source. Yeah. No, but yeah. So Frimpong was the first one. I feel like Kirkus will also happen.
[00:13:51] Kirkus I think will happen. Wurtz maybe. I think Wurtz is going to happen. And honestly, you get Frimpong, Wurtz and Kirkus. That is a fantastic transfer window, dude. Yeah. Imagine they're getting Churky also after the set. That would be sick. Hey, Ravvi now. Don't push it. Why are you taking all of them? But Moh has also asked, do you think Frimpong is a good right back? He was more of a winger than a right back. So I'd like to understand from you guys, what are your thoughts on Frimpong coming to Liverpool?
[00:14:22] Exactly. Exactly. I was just going to say that. Yeah, because I think the idea is that if the rumour is true that Wurtz is there and Frimpong is done, I think the ideas are, of course, Frimpong's role is just going to up, up, up. Right? And track back if you can, inshallah. And the idea is that Wurtz will be so attacking along with Salah that there will be a second layer of defensive midfielder who will be like, maybe Sovos like this goes back a little bit.
[00:14:51] He plays that extra cover and his role becomes to play from 23 years behind is what I think is going to happen. So I think, yeah. Can you imagine Sovos like playing defensive? Not defensive, but more defensive than this year, right?
[00:15:35] You're a little bit low. I hear you slightly better now. I just want to understand from the viewers' point of view. So yeah, I feel like you're getting too efficient in the transfer market. And I'm surprised myself. Liverpool, see, after past two transfer windows, three in fact, Chelsea took over, then there's O'Khort.
[00:16:00] I'm like, then Arsenal, Zubi Mendy last year and summer around this time only Zubi Mendy saga was going on. And now Arsenal haven't. So I'm like... Oh, you forgot. We lost Kaiseido after it was announced as in Liverpool. I'm saying let's not assume anyone is signed until they have worn that jersey turned up. The reason I'm not... It's the first game. It's the first game. Because if you can change the jersey, you can change the transfer. Yeah. And also after wearing that jersey, they cannot play. Like he is like...
[00:16:30] I don't even know if he played for Liverpool. He has to do it. So I'm saying my thing is that until it's been announced, nothing is confirmed. And until even if the coach announces it, the social media team has to announce it. Because Klopp announced Kaiseido and then that didn't happen. Oh, yeah. Thanks Humphrey. Humphrey is echoed the same sentiments. Of course. And even Zubu Mendy also something similar happened. Zubi. Zubi. The Bellingham thing also was... That was quite a saga. Can I just... Can I just point out...
[00:16:59] That was a... Yeah. Can I just point out... This is something that I saw on Twitter. And I resonated with this thought. So I just want to kind of bring it out there. Because you brought up Zubi Mendy. Liverpool fans wanted Zubi Mendy to leave his boyhood club. And be disloyal to them and come to Liverpool. And are calling Trent Alexander-Arnold a rat for doing something quite strikingly similar. So, you know... It's happening.
[00:17:29] Hypocrites have won the Premier League. What do you mean? Some teams tend to get the most success. You cannot compare... What's Sosudath? To Liverpool. Why not? They're both football teams, no? No. He was clearly leaving Sosudath for... They're both football teams. That way. You can be like a player born in Accident in Sandy. Play in Accident in Sandy. A player born in C2 Town. Play in Liverpool Town. If he really wants to... The idea is to compete at the highest level. Right. It's not just...
[00:17:58] Like Trent wants just a new challenge. And then he played... He played the whole... I'm a local boy. I'm the heir to Gerrard. He did the Gerrard salvage. He lured us in. Right. No one said this when... When Elliot left. Now that Elliot's confirmed to be leaving. And now that... Curtis Jones also... No one said anything. Why? Curtis Jones most important. Because they're not as established in the first team as Trent is. They're not even as established in their national teams as much as Trent is. Sure. Trent is a far bigger profile of player. Exactly.
[00:18:28] Trent played the whole like... I am the local lad thing. He got his million base on that thing. He was... He did... Like I said... He did all the things that would win him the lodges of local fans. Okay. See... We've gone through this... Yeah. We've done this thing, right? We've done this. So let's not do this again. But because you brought up the mural... Did you see that somebody spray painted Rad on Trent's mural? Now... My only contention with this is this. The mural is so nice. And the mural has other like things written on it.
[00:18:58] He does spray painting in the same font, right? Yeah. Dude, I have the same thought. I'm like... Hey, consistency energy. Consistency. Like he says... You know, like proper artist have done this. And then six-year-old has scribbled something on a wall. Like it just... It doesn't go well, yeah. Like... Be a dick, but be an aesthetic dick. This is what I... Predominantly want people to... Take away from today's podcast. Yes. Be an aesthetic dick. Yeah. But yeah. So...
[00:19:29] Anyway. I feel like Zuby Wendy is done and done. But yeah, like Kirk has... I think you're... You're sorted with a replacement for Robertson in Kirk. As you're sorted with a replacement for Trent in Frimpong. And you're sorted for a replacement for... I don't know, Henderson, I guess, in the field with Florian Woods. But it's slightly more attacking Jordan Henderson in that role. So... Coutinho, I think. Like that's the closest I can think of. The last player who played for...
[00:19:57] Who played probably in a similarly attacking... Yeah. Yeah. But yeah. Like it's... I hate... I hate that Liverpool are so fucking efficient with their... With their transfer dealing. Especially when you compare it to what's happening with Magda. Like it is... Oh God. I mean like... I feel like you should be... Like if I were a United fan, I'd be jealous of the thing that happened in the last five months. What's going to happen in the next three months? Yeah. Get your mic closer now. When you're talking.
[00:20:29] You said something so nice and profound and you laughed at your own joke. But barely anybody heard it. They heard it. Which is... Which is the corner flag in a microcosm. But... But... You know... We should try to do our best wherever we can. Before we move on from Liverpool... Vishal has just said... Huge fan of Corner Flag Podcast. Last episode I played in loop for six plus times. Thank you, man. Great fun hearing you guys with expert analysis.
[00:20:58] Liverpool fans who can't miss the live today. I will forgive you, Vishal. For being a Liverpool fan. Just because you played the last episode six times. It helps with our views and engagement. So well done. That is predominantly what we like you guys to do. He said he can't miss it because he's an LFC fan. I feel like let's disappoint him a little bit. Liverpool's... Vishal. Clipping that?
[00:21:28] Next season. Next season. Anytime Mukesh gets a little too annoying... We are going to... Bring that up. So... I mean... Yeah. Like... Oh God. So... Let's talk about United then very quickly. Because... They played their final game at Old Trafford... Against Aston Villa yesterday as well. And they played... Like how they should have played in every fucking match this season. Like... While watching I was like...
[00:21:57] Why are you playing like this now? In a match that doesn't even matter. Like... Team... Before the Europa League final... They can play like this... Like... What the fuck dude? They were attacking with intent. They were pressing high. They were fighting for each ball. They dominated Aston Villa. But... I was... I was watching... I was screaming... I opened my phone. I'm like... Shit. United 1-0. And Aston Villa red card. Like... What the fuck?
[00:22:26] It was a very clear red card. But... Emery was generally pissed off throughout the game. Because lots of decisions didn't go... Yeah. I didn't see the match. But I read that they... Aston Villa put up like a plea or something. Saying that... You know... Vintage United. What was... Yeah. Vintage. Vintage. We are... Far away from Vintage United. If the league table is to be considered. No.
[00:22:56] But... Yeah. Morgan Rogers should have had that goal. Because... That was atrocious goalkeeping from... Bayan there for that one. I mean... He touches the ball so lightly in that instance. It's almost like the ball is lava. You saved more and better shots last week on turf. I'm just saying. Thanks, man. Thank you. Man United. If you're listening, I'm available to be the new goalkeeper.
[00:23:24] I will definitely be better than Onana. But... And Vandy. Even if you're playing together, defending the same goal, it was allowed. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, God. So, yeah. I mean... It's just terrible. And then... Amirim has told... Apparently told Garnacho that he can find a new club. He has told Onana that he can find a new club. Which is great. Like, he is taking no prisoners here. He is laying down the law. And... Regardless of profile of player, he's like, fuck off.
[00:23:52] If you're not following the culture of the club, you are out. And he's setting an example there. Then again, Eric Tenag has also set an example in the past with Ronaldo. So now we don't know what is actually going to come out of it, if anything. Because he said you're not... You're free to find a new club. He omitted him from the squad and everything. But immediately after the game, they posted a picture of them on a Malaysian Airlines flight going to Malaysia for their post-season friendly, which is day after tomorrow.
[00:24:19] And Garnacho is there in that photo smiling very, very massively. So we don't know what exactly is going to go on over there. Why would Garnacho be sent? Isn't he one of the better United attacking players? Attitude issues. Because again, he also publicly... After the Europa League final said, Oh, full tournament I've played and helped the team. And in the final, I play for 20 minutes. I don't know.
[00:24:45] So again, calling out these issues in public is never going to help anybody. If you have any issues with the team selection or something, just go to the manager's office and sort it out behind closed doors. That's what I always believe in. And it is this sort of culture that has kind of set the rot in United, I feel. So it is good in a way that Amram is trying to address all of that and clear all of that out. But yeah, we'll see. It reminds me, dude. Kunya to United here. Done.
[00:25:14] It's a pretty good signing, actually. Yeah, that is what we thought. Signing for now, when he comes, then we'll see. But also another signing with another play with bad attitude issues. Yeah, exactly. That's what I'm... Yeah. Kunya has terrible attitude issues. Kunya has terrible attitude issues. So that's what I'm genuinely worried about. Why do you guys attract and go after these only players? What do you think? Chasing red flags, wearing red lichels. Exactly. It's like...
[00:25:44] My type is toxic. Yeah. One of those. One of those. Trauma. Trauma. One of those. One of those. I mean... Language is trauma dumping. Correct. Correct. Makhchun Amok is chasing orange flags or red flags? What do you think? Dude, it is ridiculous because you remember, I think a season ago or two seasons ago, we were in for Marko Arnautovic. Who is like next level problematic clear. I'm like, why are you doing this?
[00:26:15] What's happening? But anyway, so what you're saying is right. At the time being, Nathan Matias Kunya does sound like a good signing, but we'll see what happens because Rio Ferdinand also said in one podcast recently where he said that since Alex Ferguson left, United have signed 49 players. And of those, he can only think of three players who have lived up to the hype. Of course, one of them he included in his three was Cristiano Ronaldo because they are very good friends and everyone has a song for Ronaldo. Bruno?
[00:26:44] Bruno, Ronaldo and he said Zlatan. Zlatan? Oh, really? Zlatan came? Yeah, Zlatan came for like a very short period and he did what he did. He scored important goals. He lifted the Europa League with United and fucked off. Like for how much time he was there at the club for, I think he performed decently well. But he said that maybe two or three more you can add to the list that I've omitted, but
[00:27:09] that's still five or six out of 49, which is ridiculous transfer business overall, over a period of years. If you think about it. What? Yeah, true. I mean, someone like Zerg, see, I feel like you knew he was going to be shit. Turned out to be shit. But no, he's not. There's so much hope, bro. Like, you know, because I remember very vividly remember. First game of the season. Okay. He scored the winner.
[00:27:37] He did his Dushung Dushung celebration or whatever. I'm like, no, yeah. The potential here is me. And then he just ghosted for the rest of the season. But that's the thing, right? Like Zergzi is again a young kid. He's not like the finished product or whatever. But while he started off slow, he has really bucked up. Now, there was a great story where there was that one game. I think it was the Fulham game where Zergzi was substituted early on in the first half as a part of a tactical change.
[00:28:06] He wasn't playing well and Amrim took him off. Yeah, I remember that. Right. And he went straight down the tunnel and he was booed by his own fans. That was the moment, right? And it is like Bruno Fernandes was not playing, I think, in that game. He was on the bench. And apparently Bruno went down the touchline, went into the dressing room to meet Zergzi and told him to face the crowd. Told him to stand up to the crowd and told him to show what he's made of. And Zergzi came back, sat on the bench or whatever after that.
[00:28:36] And since then, he has remarkably improved both in training and in games to the point where United fans, United fans who were booing Joshua Zergzi now were absolutely gutted to see that Zergzi was injured and was going to miss the rest of the season when he got injured a few weeks ago. And they were very happy that he was named on the bench for the Europa League final. To the point where United fans now want Zergzi to start over Rasmus Hoyland
[00:29:03] because when Zergzi plays, more than his finishing, his link-up play is excellent. The way he holds the ball and he can dribble past two, three defenders. Very Silky, very Berbatov-like. He can just link up that play. And he's doing that at the age of 21, 22. Imagine if he properly gets coached and develops into a good player. There is a genuinely good player in there, I feel.
[00:29:29] It's just a case of, you know, just getting the right coaching into these people and getting them to fulfill their potential, which has been a problem at United. Wow. Zergzi. I remember that game. But Kurosu Bruno Root was a great captain. Yeah. I think he's the best. I just don't understand because he's so good. Yeah, I hate him because he's...
[00:29:57] I mean, I like him because he's so good, but I hate the fact he's playing for United. Like, you know, he's... And I think I understand because when he first came to United, it clearly looked... I don't know if United fans thought it, but outside fans thought it. I'm like, okay, here's a player who's coming from Portugal. Wants to play... Will play for three, four years at... Like, you know, like a Hazard type. He'll play for three, four years at United. Get them to a couple of Champions League. Maybe even win a Europa League. You know, and then push them back up into the top two, three.
[00:30:25] And then go for that big Real Madrid transfer, which was going to come his way. And I'm like, wait, this guy... I don't understand why he is still at United. He wants to lift a big trophy for United. It's pretty evident. He does want to lift a big trophy for United. He's fully ingrained himself in the culture of the club also, which is really heartening to see as fans. Because there is one good player who understands what it means. So, you know, that's...
[00:30:54] One more thing I hear about Bruno, how much he is playing. Like, he's just so... But that's what makes him a good captain. I feel like that's what makes him a good leader. He is... Look at the players around him and how they're playing. If you were Bruno playing at the level that he's playing at, wouldn't you also be pissed off to see the absolute shit around you? You know, I don't know how to plug this in,
[00:31:23] but on Snapchat, there is a filter, which... This is like the closest to Bruno I could look like. It would suit one of you. Oh, that's idiot. That shit. I think it... I have around big face, so like it doesn't... You look like a lot of the rings rejected extra. Yeah. From rings of power, not even the original. Yeah. Vibrations. Yeah.
[00:31:51] The minute you said Snapchat, I was like, fuck, are you going to talk about some like topless nonsense, some not safe for work bullshit, something that should not be seen by people. No, no. It's still not safe for work. That photo should not be seen by anyone ever in the world ever again. Nathan, please don't do this to anyone. Do not. In fact, I would say the only time you should show it is to be like, hey, if you think you met the girl, if you could show her that photo, and if she still chooses to be with you, then you met you. Yeah. That's a green flag.
[00:32:21] That is a green flag. That is a green flag. And by green flag, we do not mean the flag of a certain country. All right? This is not another Mysore Park situation. Yeah. Mysore Shree. That's a green Shree. Yeah. Green Shree. No. By the way, can we all agree that this little sweet shop in Jaipur, changing the name from Mysore Park to Mysore Shree, was extremely fucking petty. Right? It was. It was petty. Right?
[00:32:50] And this is the segue that I'm going for. Speaking of petty things, Jose Mourinho, did you see... Right? Fucking class, man. There's a reason. There's a reason why we do what we do. Right? They're fucking amazing. Jose Mourinho, did you see his Instagram after Spurs beat United in the Europa League final? He posted a photo of him with the Europa League trophy as Man United boss. I missed this.
[00:33:19] Let me check. It was a level of petty that everyone should aspire to reach. That's true. Because that is... That is washed up... Washed up Jose Mourinho... May 2017, Manchester United 2, AX0. Yeah. That is a washed up Jose Mourinho managing a team in Turkey that hasn't been able to win the Turkish League doing this. And then, he starts posting photos of all his trophies.
[00:33:49] One after the other. Just remember... Six hours ago. Six hours ago. Oh, he's still at it. He's still at it. He's still at the line-up also, dude. Oh. That is next level fucking petty. It is beautiful. It is Tom Petty. It's a petty quote. Let's go. It is a petty quote. Fucking amazing. But speaking of teams that Mourinho has managed...
[00:34:19] I am the great segue. Chelsea. Let's talk about Chelsea. Chelsea have secured Champions League qualification. Yeah. Well done. I mean, fair play. Fair play. Respect. Respect. No, but not really. Because, guys, remember at some point in December, they were like, hey, are we title content? No, we're not. And they were playing the whole thing. You can't... Oh, guys, I'm sorry. You can't spend 1.5 billion and be like, oh, yeah. What for Champions League qualification?
[00:34:49] That's like a bare minimum. I'm sorry. You can't be like, good for Chelsea. It's that, you know, sort of Nottingham, that underdog story. Actually, he's all bad for Nottingham, man. Huh? I do feel bad for Nottingham. I really, really expect at some point... 6th, no? 7th. No. Yeah. 7th. 6th, I think. 6th is Villa, no? 6th is Villa. 7th or 8th? 7th is... 7th, I think, they finished. 7th, 7th. Brighton is 8th.
[00:35:19] Brighton is 8th. I remember. Yeah. Forrester 7th. Forrester 7th. So, we're playing Conference at best. Conference. No, we're going to get... I think that's good because, like, I guess at least it's a good... That's a trophy that I think they can actually win. Yeah. Maybe Champions League or not maybe. Definitely Champions League will be too demanding. Maybe Europa, they could have with a little bit of luck reached semis if not the finals. But I think Conference, I would actually not... Look, next season, Villa should take
[00:35:48] the Europa, too. They should win the Europa. I mean... For sure, I think... I hope they do. Arsenal are going to the quarter finals this year. So, I'm very confident... Yeah. They could go either... Aston Villa, I can confidently see missed out on Champions League and it might be actually bad for them. And I think it would have been really fun for the Champions League to have a team like Aston Villa there. I would love to see Emery going up against the bigger teams. Newcastle are in the Champions League
[00:36:18] this coming season. So, that's going to be very interesting to see. St. James... St. James generally has an exciting great atmosphere. but like Champions League nights I think would be like 2x0. Yeah, and also because they just had a season in the Champions League where they had that great night against PSG also at St. James Park where they beat them. I feel like that is a fan base and a team that is dying for more nights like those. So, it's great that they're in the Champions League. It's also great that
[00:36:48] Sunderland are back in the Premier League. So, the time side Derby is back in the big leagues. I'm just happy that Alexander Isaac is probably not going to any club including Liverpool. Yeah. But I think if they did not get Champions League football, Isaac might have gone to... And he could have gone anywhere. He could have gone to Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Liverpool. Even United if he was a little nuts. Right? And they paid him the crazy amount
[00:37:18] of money. Yeah. That's true. Isaac, bro. I saw the player of the season, goal scorer, top scorer, assist Robi. Goal scorer, I was surprised to see Isaac second. I was like, shit. Isaac had that great season. Despite Haaland playing, having a bad season being injured, I thought he would still be second. But I saw Isaac had some 23 goals, 22 goals or something. Salah is 29.
[00:37:48] That's a good next season. I think he could... Next season, he could be the golden boot. Yeah. If Haaland has even a 5-6 game blimp, there's a good chance that... Next season, I think Newcastle will finish top 4 easily. I don't see them... I never know. But I think they'll be more confident for top 4 next year also. Champions League, they'll try to keep this momentum going. But see, that's the beautiful thing about the Premier League now.
[00:38:16] Like, there are so many teams who are going to be challenging for all the European spots. Right? Earlier, it was the big 4, then it became the big 6 and all. But now, there's none of that anymore. Villa can challenge for top 4. Newcastle can challenge. Brighton on their day can challenge. Nottingham Forest proved in a freak season that they can challenge. Whether they can push on to consistently challenge for top 4, maybe not. But they'll be there and
[00:38:46] thereabouts in the European conversation for sure. Villa and Newcastle both, I can imagine, would kind of want to push on from here and keep consistently challenging for top 4. and I feel like with the management that they have now. They should be able to do that. And then you also have Spurs who can. You never know. In season 3 under Ange, he said also in the trophy parade that season 2 is good but season 3 is
[00:39:16] always going to be better. That didn't sound as iconic as post-match interview. The way he said it also, I don't know, usually win things. I always win things in my second year. But if your first quote only is that hard, it's very hard to match up to.
[00:39:45] I feel like with that quote at the trophy parade where he said that season 3 is going to be better, they'll have a full mic drop moment. Full on mic drop moment. Now compare that to Amirim saying I told you the storm is coming but I'll tell you now better days are coming. So I'm like, not at that level level. But if we are going to compare words from managers to fan bases, I feel like Amirim's last line was also good. If there is one club that can overcome any situation, any disaster, it is this club, it is Manchester League. Dude, Mukesh, even Slot said something about Ateta,
[00:40:15] there was some question put at him and he said that excuses are for people who don't win. The slot is damn sharp. Let's go back to Amog being impressed by the lamest of quotes, which is like it's so everyday every club is like, yes, if there's one club that can hold up, it's this club. It sounds like a Chad GPT, there's probably a hyphen in the quote. That's how Chad GPT sounds when
[00:40:45] you're impressed. If there's any club that can overcome any situation, any disaster, it is this club, M-Dash, United Football Club. But going back to what you said about slot and Ateta, it is fantastic that we could be seeing an old school manager rivalry brewing. Because we have missed that since the days of Ferguson Wenger, Mourinho Wenger, you know, we have
[00:41:14] fucking missed that managerial middle. Like we kind of got a hint of it with Tuchel versus Conte. Yeah. Yeah, dude, I so wanted that. It was just it was just it was a good game also. It was a good game, but it was against Spurs and Chelsea too at the time, very in A clubs, like not really fighting for any big honours. Just before Chelsea went dog shit. Just before. Yeah. And this, this can be manager who is
[00:41:43] first in the league versus manager who's second in the league. If they consistently go on to be in those positions, if they consistently like Wenger Ferguson, if they go on to like go toe-to-toe for titles in the near future and this rivalry stems up, this war of words stems up, oh, that is peak Barclays, man. Peak fucking Barclays. Barclay card premiership stuff. Cut to, you know, next season Arteta and slot at 12th and 13th and some Aston Villa's on
[00:42:13] top and Unai Emery are hugging each other. If Aston Villa go top, I just want Aston Villa to release a huge banner, like do a flyby, right, in a plane with a banner behind with Unai Emery's, you know, smiling face and they should do that flyby over the Emirates stadium. Fuck it, they should have an Emirates airline also. Yeah. The plane should be an Emirates airline with Unai Emery's face at the back just saying good evening. Good evening.
[00:42:43] Just that fucking move that will be. We haven't spoken about City, dude. Like I think next season City also could must be. Should we? Are they worth it? No, no, it's fine. Just another Manchester club. This is fine. But I just think it will be much better. I think there's a good chance. I'm confident. I'll bring the specific to it in August but I do think
[00:43:12] the next winner is going to be City or Arsenal. Oh, I agree with you. I don't have, I can't say it but like Arsenal I would put first, second City third, third I would put Liverpool, fourth Chelsea and then Rubio. But I do see Arsenal City next season. Yeah. But again dude, I said this last season before this just went over but then Liverpool all over came in and so you just never know. Yeah,
[00:43:42] of course because I'm also dude if you remember City were in talks to sign words and they backed out and I'm just like why did City who have X, Y, Z amount of money backing out from this deal. Yeah, I'm not a big son of 100 million signings so which is why I think okay it might be a flop because I think any player with that kind of money they barely ever live up to expectations. That's why I was surprised that Liverpool are going for words. Like I had
[00:44:12] two thoughts. First was shit if they're going for words that means I really feel he's a he's recently had an ACL injury I think. So I'm exactly two injuries big injuries and we've all already seen the last time Liverpool made a 85 to 100 million transfer. We know what happened to that player. He ended up winning the Premier League but he also misses everything. Darwin Nunez. Jol signed
[00:44:42] Darwin Nunez for 85 million? Why do we hate him so much? It's probably the highest or one of the highest of the 85 for Darwin Nunez from whatever that. I never thought a Liverpool fan would make me feel good about Anthony. Yep. Why do you think we've been crying so much about Darwin Nunez? No, because he's generally a shit player. I didn't realize that he was also this
[00:45:12] expensive. Yeah, and he was Liverpool's answer to Holland because they came in the same season by the way. And you know, it got so riled up and all because in the Community Shield 2003, Nunez scored the winner versus City. And Holland was playing that game. Yeah, and we were like, oh wow. And then we know how that season panned out, finish Europa. But yeah, fair. Okay, as we begin to wrap up this live, we'll just go through some of the chatter that is
[00:45:41] going on. So please do send in some more questions, engage with us in the live chat so we can highlight those messages as well. Quick question now, what positives can we see for MUFC? Mostly I see no European pressure, so more time to train and build confidence. Agreed. that is one way of looking at it. To be fair, that is the only way, honestly, to be looking at it. Because the lack of European football
[00:46:09] is criminal for a club the size of Man United because it affects the finances terribly. So already it is going to strain a financially strained system at United. So that's going to be very, very tough. I just hope that Jim Ratcliffe with the Glazers can keep the club steady as we go through this tumultuous period. But yes, what you're saying is right, the lack of European football also gives the team
[00:46:39] more time to train and prepare and focus only on the Premier League and the Cup competitions domestically. And if again, sporting fans' words are to be believed, he came, Amirim came to sporting also in a similar situation where the entire club was in disarray and by the second season he sorted them out, oversaw 25 player exits and pretty much rebuilt the club. So of course, that is still sporting and
[00:47:09] this is Man United two completely different sizes of club, but it gives us hope and as Arsenal fans will agree with me, it is the hope that kills you. So, you know, we don't know. Harry Maguire, Harry Maguire goal scorer, I want to see that more. That's a definite positive. That genuinely makes me sad. No jokes. I'm so happy when Harry Maguire is running down with confidence to score a goal and it's not
[00:47:39] an own goal. And I'm like, wow, wow, how the tables have turned. How the tables have turned indeed. Humphrey has also said, heard it here first, Arba Guler to Man City. Impossible, no? I've not heard it here first. I've heard it, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, man, I've heard it before. You said it here first. I've heard it here first. First time, I'll support you on this one. Yeah, I think this is very possible. And I think he suits their style also. I see him doing well under Gaurdiala.
[00:48:08] I mean, yeah, their style is, do you like money? Come here. That's pretty much their style, yeah. Do you like money and want to be coached by Pep? That's basically what they have going for themselves. Right, eras come to an end, ETH had said. That was a grave quote that did not live up to its potential. I feel like she added with the players. I feel like we should have ranked quotes today in today's podcast. This would have been the worst. Yeah.
[00:48:39] But speaking of ETH, ETH has signed for Bayer Leverkusen. He is the replacement to Ujabi Alonso at Bayer. Do you think he's going to be successful at Leverkusen? I don't know. I think so. I actually think, I mean, I don't think he'll be as successful as Javi Alonso in that he'll get them. I think next season he might be successful. This season he might do well. But he might be this. Javi is also a stubborn manager. He's also a manager who wants to play sillyly attacking
[00:49:09] football. And I think that sort of suits Leverkusen. Because clearly Bayer are back to their winning ways and it doesn't look like they're going to stop winning the Bundesliga anytime soon. They're back. Maybe they had a couple of off-seasons but now they're back. Dortmund doesn't look like it's competing. So Leverkusen is clearly going for second and third place. And with that pretty much fixed, I do think Tanha will have a great time. And he might do well in Champions League with all the
[00:49:38] attacking football teams. Pep has sorted out personal issues to him. Yeah, so. Yeah, we spoke about this. Pep has sorted out personal issues. We did say that that was the big issue this season. Why Man City were not performing well. It was because Pep was going through the next season. Next season, City are going to play very well. I just have that. But at the same time, it's like nine other teams as well. Like, shit. This league just gets tougher
[00:50:08] and tougher by the year. It is going to be exciting for sure. Right, on that note, let us end this live. Thank you everybody for listening and joining in.
