Who needs the Premier League when our very own Mumbai City FC are CHAMPIONS OF INDIA! After a revenge victory over Mohun Bagan Super Giant, MCFC were crowned ISL champions! Amogh and Mukesh break down the game and the prospects for the ISL in the future.
Plus, we discuss the ongoing feud between Erling Haaland and Roy Keane, Arsenal's title charge and Chelsea's bipolar behaviour. Also, we're so glad (at least Amogh is) that United played after the recording, so we didn't get to discuss the 4-0 loss. Maybe we never will!

[00:00:00] Erling Harlan scores 4 goals but team thinks he is a spoiled brat and oh Mumbai City have a trophy
[00:00:06] Welcome to The Corner Flag, I am Amogh and I am Mukesh
[00:00:09] Oh Mukesh what a lovely Monday this is
[00:00:21] Regardless of what happens in the Premier League where I may or may not support a team
[00:00:26] It feels so good to know that my home team has won a trophy
[00:00:32] Yes Mumbai City FC have won the ISL trophy 2023-24
[00:00:38] What a feeling to wake up as a champion
[00:00:43] Oof it's been a while
[00:00:46] Yes and it seems like it really felt like a very exciting match like it didn't seem like a
[00:00:52] a drumming of any sort the atmosphere was fantastic at least like from the screen which I saw
[00:00:59] I wasn't there in the stadium but it just felt like a worthy final
[00:01:04] Man Indian football is looking great what a final right what a good looking final like
[00:01:08] Yeah and the thing is it's it's not just this one game of course this one game was fantastic
[00:01:14] but overall in the season I think Mumbai City FC have done something spectacular because
[00:01:21] they've had to deal with a lot of issues obviously uh uh Des Buckingham left in the middle of the
[00:01:27] season so you know going through a change of coach in the middle of the season is never easy
[00:01:32] adapted to that really well after Des left a couple of key players also left in the
[00:01:37] in the winter transfer window uh Rostin Griffiths Greg Stewart a couple of key players
[00:01:44] happened to move on and you know as as Mumbai City FC fans we were worried about how we're
[00:01:50] going to cope with the loss of these two players who've been very very instrumental
[00:01:53] in the success that Mumbai City have had in the past few seasons but dealt with that fairly well
[00:01:59] got a fantastic Spanish forward by the name of Icar Gaurat Sena who hit the ground running started
[00:02:06] scoring goals right from the start but then we lost him to an ACL injury so it was just one
[00:02:13] setback after the other and to still finish the league in second place which we could have
[00:02:20] also won had it not been to that last day defeat to Mohan Bagan uh to finish second in the league
[00:02:27] and then to to defeat FC Goa the way we did in the semi-finals coming back from 2-0 down at the
[00:02:33] Fathorah in Goa to win 3-2 and then a really well organized victory at the Mumbai football arena
[00:02:42] I think this team has grown so well and it was revenge time against those Mohan Bagan super
[00:02:49] giants yes I'm in in character like it was about 60-2000 was that the official count of the number
[00:02:56] of fines and it real and it I'm sorry but I was so like you know watching the match I barely saw
[00:03:03] Mumbai FC supporters like it just felt like so for the team to perform for them oh wow
[00:03:11] 20 Mumbai City FC supporters from the west coast brigade actually travelled to Kolkata for the game
[00:03:17] and they were there they were singing they were dancing they did the Poznan when we scored every
[00:03:23] goal as they do here at the Mumbai football arena and the beauty is because they they travelled to
[00:03:31] Kolkata the team hosted them for the post-election celebrations so all these fans were partying
[00:03:38] with the squad and it was just fantastic to see because that is the beauty of Indian football
[00:03:45] right and maybe it's because it's not as big as European football one may say but the beauty is
[00:03:51] that such a lovely no there's such a lovely connection between the team and the fans you
[00:03:59] know like literally fans go up to the coach and give him a hug like you can't ever imagine that
[00:04:07] happening in in the Premier League right but it's happening here and I would implore people
[00:04:11] in India who follow football to find your local ISL team or in ISL team that's not in your city
[00:04:17] or state but you just identify with and love and get involved man because these are the golden years
[00:04:23] and it's it's it's something else yeah and it's incredible because we don't have the so-called
[00:04:29] numbers and yet first of all 62,000 people turned up so you love and you got the 20 people who
[00:04:34] turned up for the other team to celebrate with the actual team like you have yeah it's
[00:04:38] strange that you can fill out stadiums and still get an intimate experience with the team like I feel
[00:04:43] like it's Indian football is in a really nice place like it's not so poor that there's like 10 people
[00:04:48] in the whole stadium but it's also not so big that teams kind of fought to celebrate with fans
[00:04:53] individually so I think it's probably the best time to be an Indian football fan because you
[00:04:58] can get moments like this right you get a full stadium you get access to the players and the
[00:05:02] coach oh my god but the game itself was exciting I feel like enough praising yeah
[00:05:08] you know in fact so I was I was at Ghatkopar social where the the fans had organized an official
[00:05:14] screening over here so it was packed there were about 300 fans in Ghatkopar social just
[00:05:19] singing and partying right nice and as like as soon as the game started Mumbai city were dominating
[00:05:28] Mohan Bagan didn't have an inch into the game the Mumbai goalkeeper Purva Lachanpap barely
[00:05:32] had anything to do at just one save with his feet that he had to make but apart from that
[00:05:36] they had nothing happening in the Mumbai city right like Mumbai city were dominating that entire
[00:05:41] first half and then the mistake happens he doesn't carry the ball away from Goli Pariyod straight
[00:05:47] in the in the way of Jason Cummings from Mohan Bagan who slots it in and while the mood suddenly
[00:05:54] went down and everybody was worried about what is going to happen because let's not forget
[00:05:58] Mohan Bagan are a very very strong club they are probably and people might say that oh
[00:06:04] because Mumbai city is city football group they have a lot of money Mohan Bagan actually have the
[00:06:08] most expensive squad it's not it's not Mumbai city FC and they're going to make even bigger transfers
[00:06:14] if rumors are to be believed next season and obviously like it's not an easy game right
[00:06:19] like it's not an easy opponent is not an easy game so everybody was a little down and I remember
[00:06:23] speaking to a bunch of fans and I said I am so happy that Mohan Bagan has scored right now
[00:06:28] against the run of play at 40 minutes or 38 minutes or whatever it was close to half time
[00:06:33] and I'm so happy that they are going into half time one-nil up because if with this much possession
[00:06:40] with this much dominance if if Mumbai would have gone into half time 0-0 they would have come back out
[00:06:47] and they would have been a different team altogether and by the I mean Mohan Bagan
[00:06:52] and he would have scored later on in the second half it would have been difficult but because
[00:06:57] Mohan Bagan scored in the first half and they went into half time one-nil up I feel like
[00:07:01] the coach Peter Krattke knew exactly what needed to be done what needed to be said to those players
[00:07:08] at half time and when they came back out it was more of the same like it was the same level of
[00:07:13] dominance and they finished their chances and it was a perfect performance. It was incredible
[00:07:19] because I think for the first 43 minutes I think Mohan Bagan didn't even attack I've been
[00:07:24] thinking I don't know if they had a shot or let alone a shot on target and suddenly out
[00:07:28] of nowhere that was like one belter of a shot and then Lacharpa does which actually I don't
[00:07:32] think he meant to parry it I think he practically acted on it probably like you know and mess up
[00:07:37] in position I think I think he was just surprised he wasn't expecting that he was because he was
[00:07:43] not expecting a shot. He was not expecting a shot. And the power I think was also not
[00:07:48] expecting that level of power because they I think there was something almost
[00:07:54] like a murderous in the way Mohan Bagan was playing in that there was like a deep
[00:07:59] block and then it was like you wait and you wait and then you took that one chance they got
[00:08:04] and I think they were prepared for a 1-0 victory. It looked like I think in the second half like
[00:08:08] you said they were very happy with Mumbai having the ball and they were like okay we will hold
[00:08:12] this scoreline until as long as we can and then we will see if we can sneak in a late goal
[00:08:17] to make it 2-0 but they look like they would have been very happy with a 1-0 score even
[00:08:22] at the 80th minute or 85th minute which I think was probably the one mistake that they did like
[00:08:27] I think they could have played with Mumbai's nerves a little more but I think the way
[00:08:31] Mumbai came out just attacking Kolkata I just wanted to absorb Mohan Bagan just wanted
[00:08:36] to absorb the pressure and then I think that was a big mistake they did. Absolutely and
[00:08:42] we mentioned how 20 people from Mumbai travelled over there there were a few other people
[00:08:46] from all over the country some influencers were in the stands and influencers not named
[00:08:53] Amogran Divey oh my god terrible influence is not named Amogran Divey listen listen I do my work
[00:08:59] for the team that I support alright not for anybody else tomorrow if Mohan Bagan came to me
[00:09:04] and offered me a truckload of more cash I wouldn't go and do it because it goes against
[00:09:09] 10 crores
[00:09:13] we'll think about it
[00:09:21] if it's life changing money then maybe but I don't think these influencers were being paid life
[00:09:26] changing money I just found it extremely like it was just hilarious to see these influencers
[00:09:32] sit with the Mohan Bagan fans and cheer and chant with the Mohan Bagan fans when Mohan Bagan scored
[00:09:38] and then at the end of it they're on the pitch chilling with the Mumbai FC players like just like
[00:09:48] I mean a little bit grow a fucking spine like honestly
[00:09:51] I'm a united fan I'll only support you right it bro I'm a Chelsea fan everything else is shit
[00:10:03] but either some plastic
[00:10:08] annoying shit and it's kind of gross because I don't know if they know but it's being recorded
[00:10:16] they're behaving like there is no live recording this match they are putting it on themselves
[00:10:21] I saw the first half of the reel that Dode was in the stands with Mohan Bagan enjoying and partying
[00:10:26] with him when they scored the goal like oh my team has scored second half of the reel was
[00:10:32] profi celebration chilling with Vikram Pratap you know I think it's like they've misunderstood
[00:10:39] meaning of what 45 minutes you change your sight and I'm like that doesn't apply to fans
[00:10:43] that applies only to the teams playing you don't you don't change the sides that you support there
[00:10:51] oh my god this is this is what I call the speedification of India like you're getting
[00:10:57] nonsense Chuti up into the world of football uh fucking zero zero self-awareness I feel but
[00:11:05] I'm sure they got paid for it so so well done I just feel like if you ask them
[00:11:11] if you go to any of these influencers ask them I said listen which ISL club do you support
[00:11:15] they'll have no answer oh actually I support east mohan bagan
[00:11:20] east mohan bagan ctsc yeah chai super kings fc csk actually actually bro I support real barcelona
[00:11:29] real barcelona if they ask you a little bit
[00:11:33] superficial or superficial they'll ask you a little bit
[00:11:36] sub all the all the I feel they're not superficial they're very much
[00:11:40] fissual about who they support very very fissual about who they support right but great stuff great
[00:11:48] stuff it is great to have a trophy in the bag uh haven't felt that with Manchester United in a
[00:11:54] very long time so I'm happy that Moombay city FC is doing it a club that is closer geographically
[00:12:00] to where I am located so there is a more identity also cricket lovers
[00:12:06] shaham karo yaar Mumbai Indians the fucking nonsense that Mumbai Indians is pulling out in
[00:12:11] the IPL Mumbai city FC is is is compensating for that on the football pitch so I feel like
[00:12:18] there is if there is one sport that you should follow east to Mumbai
[00:12:22] yeah exactly exactly right should we should we go over to the Premier League then
[00:12:27] shall we talk about
[00:12:30] both the club because see my club hasn't played my club is playing later tonight so
[00:12:36] but I'm happy with where your club is in general I have not been happy with where my club is for the
[00:12:40] last 10 years fair enough so it has become default setting for me Moog this used to be my
[00:12:49] default setting and now I'm not uh I'm not happy coming back home the hope is killing me
[00:12:55] I'm done I'm done I am now I think it's I'm faintly remembering the 2010 to 2015 16 Liverpool
[00:13:02] those five six years of supporting Liverpool where like it was banter like you know when banter was
[00:13:08] too pathetic come in that era I'm remembering those days those feelings you're in your banter
[00:13:15] era but no we are not beginning with Liverpool so you have some time you have some time before
[00:13:19] we get down to this again also when we do get to Liverpool we'll be talking about how they won
[00:13:22] like they didn't manage to win this weekend so that's a good thing but we started with Arsenal
[00:13:27] three Bournemouth zero Arsenal's title charge continues two games to go and Arsenal are sitting
[00:13:35] on top of the Premier League one point gap of course between them and Man City in second who
[00:13:39] of course have a game in hand three goals by Arsenal but I think the biggest talking
[00:13:45] point was the Bournemouth goal from Dominic Sarenke which was disallowed by VAR
[00:13:50] every time I feel like the referees in the Premier League could not get worse
[00:13:59] they just come at me and say bro two minutes
[00:14:07] what the fuck was that decision
[00:14:11] I mean this entire season honestly like there's a part of me that you know every time Liverpool
[00:14:20] have lost right the title whether by one point or by many points from the Stalina Champions League
[00:14:24] qualifications but I was very happy to blame it on the team and to dissect the season and at this
[00:14:28] but I think because of this season I'm just like I'm even even at the risk of sounding like
[00:14:34] oh blaming it on whatever a bad worksman blame this tool type even I don't mind just
[00:14:40] completely blaming the refereeing and being like hey actually my team was perfect and great
[00:14:45] and they should have been title winners or at least in the contention till the final week but I'm okay
[00:14:51] with it so yeah I think there was another big error which felt like very blatant error going in favour
[00:14:58] of Arsenal and at this point the only reason to support it is like Chalo it's not only Man City
[00:15:04] that is getting favours that seems like the only reason for me to think it's a good thing
[00:15:08] no I feel like at the end of the day you know there are so many narratives about oh the top
[00:15:14] six teams are being favoured and if Akash was here as our evident representative I'm sure he would come
[00:15:18] up with a list of incidents where it can be proven that the top six clubs are being favoured but I
[00:15:24] feel that in general refereeing just ati hai like there's no logic or there's no algorithm to
[00:15:32] it it's completely at random and unfortunately the problem is that the bottom teams have been
[00:15:40] coming on the end of it a lot more often than not but at the same time even the big teams get
[00:15:46] decisions that go against them and it's just generally very awful refereeing and you would
[00:15:53] expect that to get better with the with the introduction of VA with the introduction of
[00:15:57] replays and technology but for some how it's just gotten worse yeah and I think the problem is
[00:16:04] now I mean is what we've talked about right like you can take your time you're adding on the
[00:16:10] extra minutes and then why why if it's gonna be shit and it's shit and a slower game before it
[00:16:17] used to be okay I'm like okay before everything was shit but we got on with it because they're
[00:16:21] okay they don't have the tools to check or whatever now it's like you have the tools and you're
[00:16:26] giving us a slower game and no goal is really a goal yeah you know what I'm gonna say if there's
[00:16:31] like a three minutes lag between a goal and it being a goal goal yeah so um you think Anthony had it
[00:16:40] right all along with his multiple celebrations for one goal he's like a celebration preview
[00:16:45] yeah a celebration post we had a celebration fans kisser uh easy one for the family one for
[00:16:53] the family yeah did you by the way just speaking about that while we were on that topic
[00:16:58] you remember we spoke about this in the last episode where Anthony scored the goal uh and and he
[00:17:05] took out that sonic the hedgehog toy and that was one of his three celebrations for the goal right
[00:17:11] it turns out that the guy who gave him the sonic the hedgehog soft toy who was by the
[00:17:17] advertising hoardings was a personal photographer hired by anthony he wasn't a club photographer or
[00:17:25] a premier league photographer he was a personal photographer hired by anthony at the start of the
[00:17:30] season and he has been hired to take photos of anthony while he plays which is fine okay
[00:17:42] but that poor guy has been already got to that sonic the hedgehog fucking soft toy from game week one
[00:17:49] and you imagine three times he's entered every time he's entered old traffic he's had to show it
[00:17:55] to the security guard saying i've got my sonic the hedgehog toy that security guard also must be like
[00:18:01] dude you probably need to see a therapist if you're this attached to a soft toy bro your legs
[00:18:10] and at some point like you know at first when he's like oh it's a great gig right at first the
[00:18:14] first three weeks he's like it's a great gig i get to interstate him probably free i get paid for
[00:18:19] to do this shit and after a point he's like questioning he's like what am i doing in life
[00:18:24] like forget what anthony is doing he's like what am i doing in my life entering every game week
[00:18:29] across the country yeah i've become an urban legend among security guards
[00:18:35] that's what is in that and and they probably ripped open that soft toy to be like what is in
[00:18:39] this dude are you trying to like smuggle some drugs and he's like no i can't tell you what it's for
[00:18:45] this guy do you think do you think anthony gets a different sonic the hedgehog toy for every match
[00:18:49] you know because they get different jerseys every match right they don't wear the same jersey again
[00:18:53] whoop they just say we're going to get new jerseys every match so you think there was
[00:18:59] there's like 38 sonic the hedgehog toys just just kept in stockpile somewhere that
[00:19:07] i actually like to believe it's the same one he just had one and it's been going in the washing
[00:19:13] machine and coming out and it's a little like weathered and it's like and finally he gets to
[00:19:19] dispose it and like even his son is like i don't want this yeah but yes asin is still getting
[00:19:28] the the victory against bonn with coming back to that key issue on the other end city are going
[00:19:34] strong as well city basically just saying that if you think you can beat us to this title that's
[00:19:43] not going to happen because this is the time when even early harland is going to come back in form
[00:19:47] when the last few game weeks he was he was out of form but city beating wolves five one
[00:19:54] early harland scoring four off those five goals julian agarez came on and scored the fifth but
[00:20:01] this is time pass for gold i was so unhappy when he was substituted yeah he was and i think
[00:20:12] but i think that's because he felt he had more goals in him and that again shows the mark of a
[00:20:16] proper elite level athlete he met form man because core karne kaya like we used to see this
[00:20:21] with ronaldo right he he was so annoyed whenever he was taken off because he's like man if i'm
[00:20:28] on the pitch i can at least get some more goals and you know add to my tally and that's i think
[00:20:33] exactly what harland is also doing but on that moment you miss yeah we don't have strikers like
[00:20:42] that you don't have a striker scoring that regularly but i really have a team miss his regular
[00:20:47] yeah and my striker thinks hitting the net is a same as hitting the post yeah yeah for him
[00:20:55] everything is a crossbar challenge he's killing on a youtube video yeah no but on the on the harland
[00:21:04] topic him being subbed off and not not liking it obviously he was not happy but i guess considering
[00:21:10] he's coming back from injury i think godiola also wanted to manage his minutes but roy keen had
[00:21:16] something very interesting to say of course the context to this is that roy keen has been
[00:21:19] battling hurling harland for a while now uh he's of course we discussed this a few episodes ago
[00:21:25] where keen called him a league two level player when he was not informed and after this game harland
[00:21:32] was asked about roy keen's comment and he says i don't care about that man uh not that man is
[00:21:39] that i don't care about roy keen he just said i don't care about that man like man uh oh is that
[00:21:45] i come because i think i didn't hear it i read it so i totally spare it as a i don't care about
[00:21:51] that man in particular i thought oh wow it's he's addressing it i mean considering the history
[00:21:56] that roy keen has the harland bloodline yeah considering that history uh i wouldn't be
[00:22:05] surprised if harland actually meant that man in particular uh but keen again pointed out
[00:22:10] how he reacted to the substitution and he called him a spoiled brat he said again him going off like
[00:22:18] that having a go at his manager is acting like a spoiled brat now of course he's scoring and
[00:22:22] man city of winning so it doesn't get highlighted a lot whereas because live a pool aren't winning
[00:22:29] and sala wasn't scoring his stat with club gets highlighted but uh you know this is this is just
[00:22:36] spoiled behavior and it was really awkward in the sky sports studio because the host laughed at roy keen
[00:22:42] and told him yeah but he scored four goals so not all that's spoiled right and roy keen gave him
[00:22:49] the most threatening of glares and there was like a 30 second silence in the studio and swiftly
[00:22:58] moved on but it looked like roy keen had blood in his eyes like i wouldn't be surprised if
[00:23:04] next weekend the sky sports host has changed and we never hear from this guy again because he's going
[00:23:09] to be found in some forest somewhere in in in the uk i'm sorry but i don't know if roy keen ever had a
[00:23:17] public uh dispute with uh alex fuggison but there is no way in hell that roy keen of all people
[00:23:26] is calling any player who's arguing with his coach or showing a public display of anger or arrogance
[00:23:33] of brat because roy keen's entire thing was that and it was like it was that with wickley so it looked
[00:23:41] like a glorious thing but if on the off chance that there wasn't any victory you would have just
[00:23:46] you'd have looked like neil mopay so i'm sorry you cannot call sorry king of all people cannot
[00:23:50] call i'm i'm sorry i respect his career whatever all of that nonsense but there is no way he
[00:23:54] can call any player and if anything players are the nicest now in fact they're too nice
[00:23:59] so i don't know like i mean i'm all for trashing on city and cities players uh on the off chance that
[00:24:06] it brings them down even a little bit yeah maybe they went four one instead of five one but just
[00:24:11] roy keen of all people calling someone a brat was to a stadia ever i think the thing with
[00:24:16] roy keen also is no i think he's he's leaning into the stereotype that he's created for himself
[00:24:21] as a television pundit and uh it makes for good television i don't know if that's actually
[00:24:27] what he believes or what he doesn't but i feel like we're living in an age now where all these
[00:24:32] all these panelists like roy keen gary neville's karagur they're all playing caricatures of themselves
[00:24:38] because sure there are times when all of them act so obtuse and especially neville and karagur
[00:24:44] i feel like roy keen i still do feel that he has some interesting opinions but with karagur
[00:24:50] and neville they're so blinded by their love for their clubs that they they stop being a little
[00:24:56] objective sometimes which is i think it's what you said early on you know but i think your spot on
[00:25:02] that they figured out their television personalities yeah right they figured those out or they figured
[00:25:09] out what gets to views and what doesn't get the views or what gets the anger and then they escalate
[00:25:14] that like crazy like karagur will play the drunk almost like the drunk uncle and quite literally
[00:25:21] the drunk uncle going by his champions leech shenanigans statics gary neville just he just
[00:25:28] plays up his united uh staunch united supporter side too much even to the point where he looks a
[00:25:33] little stupid even supporting them yeah and i think a spot on and i think the only thing i can conclude
[00:25:38] from any of this is that amog you and i should figure out what our caricatures are and play
[00:25:44] should i play the idiot i play the idiot of work what is yours
[00:25:51] well i watch me play it watch me be dumber than this
[00:26:00] but no what that means is arsenal art watch me botox myself um but yeah sir no what that means
[00:26:05] is arsenal our top of the league with 83 points and 36 games late man city at 82 with a game in
[00:26:11] hand Liverpool in third place with 78 points so basically if man city get a victory or if arsenal
[00:26:18] get a draw then that is it for Liverpool like they are then officially and mathematically out of the
[00:26:24] title race amog i was out at crystal palace like i don't even think there's even one Liverpool
[00:26:32] fan who's like hey please please please god one is still one chance they're calculating there is
[00:26:37] unless that ma'am unless it's some rama rujam reincarnated level Liverpool fan there is not
[00:26:43] a some maths freak who's calculating permutation combination there is not one single single Liverpool
[00:26:49] fan who's like hey man we could still win this thing like i think there's no need i think it's
[00:26:55] pretty much between city and arsenal yeah and honestly i was kind of hoping arsenal win it
[00:27:01] but after interacting with a few arsenal fans i'm like you know what city take it we'll forget
[00:27:05] it the next morning you know and we can come back that see that's that's and i get it and i totally
[00:27:12] get why for the last couple of years every other non-liverpool fan was supporting city because
[00:27:20] just a thought of arsenal fans winning and then them being arrogant oh no it wasn't just arsenal
[00:27:25] fans it was also Liverpool fans just the thought of Liverpool fans winning and then being arrogant
[00:27:30] that's something i get it now that i was like i'm a football purist i will want
[00:27:35] how will want good football to win and now i'm now suddenly that my team's out of my
[00:27:40] f***ing good i think let them win match so i started off wanting city to win because
[00:27:45] of the exact thing that you said that haan take a city win one more title nobody will give a
[00:27:49] f*** because anyway they barely have fans and uh what's the worse that'll happen they'll
[00:27:54] have another parade in Manchester where three people will turn up and nothing else will come
[00:28:00] off it like it is just routine but if Arsenal in the league or have Liverpool in the league then we'll
[00:28:05] never hear hear the end of it but that's Liverpool won't give city i haven't stopped talking
[00:28:12] sh** since then exactly exactly but considering that a league title this season will give man city
[00:28:21] a record of of of winning four titles in a row i'm a little more open to arsenal winning it i'm like
[00:28:30] chalnai a little change fresh air i feel like arsenal fans are still a little more tolerable
[00:28:36] than Liverpool fans so why not give them a go that's terrible oh my god i'm over i don't
[00:28:42] think you've understood what you've said you will rule these words why would i rule these
[00:28:46] words i don't think you're fully i don't think you're fully prepared for how
[00:28:57] incredibly annoying arsul fans are gonna get they pretend like they were here all along oh my
[00:29:02] god trust me it's gonna be atrocious it is going but yeah let's see i mean it's all in cardiola's
[00:29:07] hands yeah it is and we'll think about that while we take a break on the other side we're going
[00:29:13] to talk about chelsea's five nil victory over west ham clops ranks about fixture congestion
[00:29:20] and some spurs fans who are calling for post-ecog lute to be sacked see you on the other side
[00:29:31] welcome back to the corner flag everybody and as always we begin the second half with your
[00:29:36] questions questions questions with the corner flag dude answers also huh all right we have
[00:29:50] first question from harnish natwani who says miraculously if man city drop points an arsul
[00:29:58] win will city be called bottlers or not yeah yeah i think it would be fair to call them bottlers
[00:30:08] i feel like but what have the bottle they've barely been on the top of the league they've bottled
[00:30:14] no but you still expect man city to win the league right because they are such a
[00:30:19] how it's not it's not bottling if you're not on top of the league and it's only a bottling like
[00:30:24] arsul did it last year live a bullet down a countless number of times no but it is it's a
[00:30:29] bottling when you're on top and you have a considerable lead and then you let it go
[00:30:33] you're also i think they've been on top of the league for three days or something you're
[00:30:36] also forgetting that right now the fact that arsul are on top of the league doesn't mean
[00:30:40] anything because cities still have a game in hand so i am still considering city to be on top of the
[00:30:45] league because it is very obvious that they're going to win that game and now i feel like they'll
[00:30:50] still be called bottlers because you expect man city to win every trophy that they're in
[00:30:56] and they proved that last season because up until last season you were like actually the
[00:31:00] premier league is always going to be cities they are dominant in the premier league but
[00:31:04] champions league anybody can win you know it was one of those things but they went and they
[00:31:09] won the treble also so i feel like they have reached that point in their history right now
[00:31:14] where currently they are the best team in your if not the world so you expect them to win every
[00:31:21] trophy that they are challenging for especially the premier league which is their bread and
[00:31:26] butter they won it three times in a row previously they're in a fantastic position to win it
[00:31:31] this time around so if by some miracle as harish natwani said the results don't go their way
[00:31:38] and city happened to lose the title i would 100% call them bottlers
[00:31:45] no i don't think city have bottled anything um i think the two teams that would have bottled
[00:31:50] our Liverpool and Arsenal who have they have always maintained the two clown that was there
[00:31:53] only but it's a it's a top three of bottleers only okay top three of bottleers but i don't
[00:31:59] think city you can say city bottle this one uh especially considering also never playing
[00:32:02] shit football at the start or shitter football then they usually used to one can argue but one
[00:32:07] can argue that that is a step in the direction of said bottling you know i'm but i've clear my
[00:32:14] definition of bottling is if you're on top of the league and you're in a dominant position
[00:32:18] and you let that go i agree in during i think that is a classic definition of the term bottling
[00:32:25] but here's where i differ from your opinion which is that in the case of a team like
[00:32:31] Liverpool or Arsenal or Huckett even Spurs you say that they are bottlers because they've put
[00:32:37] themselves in a fantastic position all season around and then towards the end
[00:32:42] okay but jatir right and that is a proper definition of a bottle job but i feel like
[00:32:48] certain different rules apply to city much like they do in terms of 100 and fire 15 charges
[00:32:55] but uh yeah drop a bomb but certain certain different rules apply to city in the sense that
[00:33:02] from day one when they start playing premier league you expect them to win even the betting
[00:33:07] wands are in their favor they are huge favorites every season to win the premier league so if they're
[00:33:12] not going to win the premier league it is i feel still a bottle job all right uh we go to the next
[00:33:22] question or statement from ashwin underscore 040 who says only one more home game for clop
[00:33:30] it's gonna be so hard not to cry and i completely get it and it's incredible uh let me share a very
[00:33:38] personal anecdote from last night i was complaining to my girlfriend about how i'm gonna feel
[00:33:44] about this and she just said listen talk to amog about this
[00:34:06] uh even my wife has the same things to say when i talk to her about football she just looks at me
[00:34:10] confused she's just nodding her head like uh huh you know like the penguins from madagascar just saying
[00:34:14] just smile and wave boys that's the strategy that my wife tends to use when i talk to her about
[00:34:20] football and she says listen you have a podcast where you talk about right like all the tools are
[00:34:26] there for you to make my career that your laptop which is too light swipes use
[00:34:31] there's no editing at that you every week religiously podcast episode upload
[00:34:37] where you speak about these things you have listeners who are very nice who listen to you every week as
[00:34:42] well why the fuck are you saying this to me why why are you doing this twice just get it out all
[00:34:50] all out of the way when you record on monday night so yeah i feel like uh you're my wife are going
[00:34:55] to be very very good friends and uh there's the two of us are fucked sadly you and i are not
[00:35:03] we're gonna fight we're gonna fight over Liverpool and just united they were the same jersey they
[00:35:09] have very similar histories he was a city's of acuos but you and i will kill each other for it
[00:35:14] all right and we have the last question of this episode which is noob clicks asks us
[00:35:22] top five kids in europe this season question mark and i have to do that first i say noob clicks
[00:35:28] i don't care man Liverpool one Liverpool two Liverpool three let's go close up my top five
[00:35:35] because i'll just repeat the same okay so i'm gonna be a little more professional about this in
[00:35:39] mokash's because a listener has oh my oh my god okay fine i'll also answer the listener has written
[00:35:44] in and no clicks is is a regular question asker from our from our bank of listeners so i'm gonna
[00:35:53] be a little more professional about this i if you're talking about this season isn't the season
[00:35:57] that's about to end um the usual is man like in europe so exactly in exactly so i feel like iax
[00:36:06] have some yeah i don't know that i i do really like the bulushia dotman kits also
[00:36:14] i think they are really really cool in the premier league i think my favorite kit
[00:36:24] i want to go with spurs and man united for my premier league picks and i feel like this season
[00:36:32] after a very long time united finally had a decent home kit and especially they're awake not
[00:36:38] not they're awake it sorry their third kit which is the white kit looks beautiful so really really
[00:36:45] well done by adidas for finally giving man united a decent kit design but while you're at it buy
[00:36:52] and skit for next season has been revealed and it looks beautiful full right amazing amazing
[00:37:02] i know it's a weird shout but i think i don't know i think it's a tlético i'm pretty sure it's
[00:37:07] a tlético which has a new kit with a little bit of like red splint on the white almost looks like
[00:37:12] blood and i just like that i like it because it also like i feel like it's a dmg i like that i
[00:37:19] could imagine that there are 11 bird rows who happen to be playing football so i like that i think
[00:37:23] that's a good shout for me but i i like the dotman pick because i think in a sea of reds and whites
[00:37:28] and reds whites and blues i like i always like the yellows only good absolutely um do we have
[00:37:34] any more that's it no no thank you so much for writing in we do absolutely enjoy listening
[00:37:42] to your questions and answering them because it is a lot of fun so please do keep doing that
[00:37:47] and do not forget to support us on all our social media accounts and on our youtube channel as well
[00:37:52] hit that subscribe button hit that follow button and get involved it will help us a lot right
[00:37:59] jelsie five west ham nil what a f***ing buy boner team jelsie is
[00:38:05] what love man oh i am just however they sneaked up i think about the seventh now in like
[00:38:14] they were pretty much bottom half uh man i'm actually really worried now that they figured out how to score
[00:38:18] goals that they're going to be really good next season they probably are going to be really good
[00:38:23] next season for sure uh if they stick with pochettino because there are also rumors linking them to a
[00:38:29] return for con te which would just be ridiculous by them but uh in which case i say yeah please
[00:38:36] go ahead do it uh no but they are seven they are 54 points two points away from new castle and
[00:38:44] uh two points yeah two points away from new castle and six points away from tottenham in fifth so yeah
[00:38:52] if things go according to plan they could actually hit your up the worst part is united are now in
[00:38:56] eighth we are level on points with jelsie although with a game in hand which is again tonight against
[00:39:02] crystal palace which we are more than likely going to lose but we'll get to that later fantastic
[00:39:08] showing by by by jelsie and and col Palmer again is in the form of his life from all the 20 000 signings
[00:39:16] that they made uh since tot bolly joined i think col Palmer has been their best signing yeah and
[00:39:24] also i don't know if you saw i think uh i mean speaking of west ham i think david moey's is uh
[00:39:32] surely sacked i think david louis confirmed for west ham uh i think he completely i i don't know
[00:39:40] west ham was such an exciting team and i think even right now they're like when you have a team of
[00:39:44] bowlin and kudos and everybody you don't expect them to perform so badly and they just got picked
[00:39:50] under i think one of the goals i think was the fourth goal where like one one long ball just
[00:39:56] cleared the entire team and west ham had no answer so the end of david moey's at um
[00:40:03] i at west ham where do you think he's gonna pop up again no no no i don't know what i'm
[00:40:09] i'm like i'm like what is it for any club he's happy with gary o'neill's i don't think they'll
[00:40:13] they'll sack gary o'neill for for david moey's but i think that david moey's will get
[00:40:17] david moey will get a premier league job yeah you'll get a club like uh i don't know less
[00:40:22] earth obviously have a great manager in mareska uh ip switch who have also been promoted by the
[00:40:28] way under kiran mackenna which is fantastic ex united assistant coach so i'm going to look
[00:40:32] out for ip switch next season as well they're doing really well but uh yeah you'll get you'll get a
[00:40:37] premier league a middling premier league job honestly if things don't work out with daish
[00:40:43] david moey's returns to evitin why the f**k not and yeah just to the sake of narrative and just to
[00:40:48] get those extra 10 points you know like a 10 point boost or no manager's return which
[00:40:54] probably will do wonders for a club that's obviously david moey's now comes if if he
[00:40:59] were to go back to evitin he goes back to evitin with a lot more experience in terms of having
[00:41:02] managed and f**ked up at man united but still seven months of experience at a club of that level
[00:41:09] akon west ham managing real in spain with real sosia dad so that's foreign experience as well
[00:41:15] yes akon a club like west ham on a europea league run uh won them the conference league trophy
[00:41:21] so he's he's also become a more experienced manager a more uh a different manager from
[00:41:28] from the david moey's that managed evitin back in the day so might be interesting for that if not
[00:41:33] if not that then i mean i mean i would just love it just for the for the for the fields yeah
[00:41:41] for who doesn't like good but do you think lopate is the perfect choice for uh for west ham now
[00:41:48] i think lopate is like i was very surprised i i felt like he would probably as a real mudrid
[00:41:56] manager at so uh sorry i know but i think he was a real mudrid manager right for very for a year
[00:42:03] or something and manage spain i know i expected him to be like a like more ambitious the the wools
[00:42:09] gig but i feel like it's also come to a point where you have certain managers who've got that
[00:42:14] experience who are not elite level coaches like an enchilotti or a pep guardiola or even a clock
[00:42:22] and those positions are filled up like think about the big clubs they're like peps not
[00:42:28] leaving mancity so that job is not available i don't think anybody would take lopate and
[00:42:34] live a pool after clock i don't think you as a live a pool fan will go for a lot of taggy
[00:42:38] because even you know how we were going for slot slot still gives you a lot uh newer ideas in terms
[00:42:45] of freshness in terms of him not being known in the premier league is a is a is a slightly
[00:42:53] better risk to take for a club like live a pool and he's done fantastic at at final to the season so
[00:43:01] i think that's a that's an interesting choice but it is that murinio past his prime level
[00:43:06] where ha you've got the big jobs but you're realistically never going to get those big jobs
[00:43:12] again even if they were available and why not with that experience why not take a club like
[00:43:20] west ham and see how you can develop that club you know mold the team in the image of yourself
[00:43:25] and and see if you can do another cup run see if you can you can go higher up the table and
[00:43:29] maybe qualify for the for the champions league because we're seeing that happen we're seeing
[00:43:34] that happen billar in the contention new castle have been in the champions league this season so
[00:43:39] teams like that are challenging for the top four in the premier league so why not but i
[00:43:47] i think two things right i think the premier league is actually pretty crowded uh so he might
[00:43:53] have actually been like and and being british press is a terrifyingly mad place especially
[00:44:01] for foreign managers and you need someone like either you need someone you're someone super successful
[00:44:08] like a good system trophy winner like gardiola or a clop who can give it back or a focus and who
[00:44:15] can do both to sort of but it's a good thing i think might need time like i do think uh west
[00:44:21] ham is still a very unfriendly place for a manager it's not uh i was sort of i mean for
[00:44:28] i think it's great for west ham that they have someone who's won the europea league
[00:44:30] who's coming and winning managing them someone who's i think he's won the laly guy's a player i don't
[00:44:34] think he wanted as a coach but i think he wanted as a player if i'm not wrong uh with raul madrid only
[00:44:39] so i think maybe he could have gone to another club in spain or france or germany uh but yeah
[00:44:45] good for him i mean good for the club good for west ham for getting a good nice manager but i
[00:44:49] would say it's not a good sign good enough signing for him i think he can do
[00:44:54] fantastically well at west ham because west ham are now also learning to back their managers
[00:44:59] their finances are looking a little better and i think it's an exciting time to be a west ham fan
[00:45:04] as our mutual friend kavishas 3 is so uh you know we'll see how that goes um right
[00:45:11] Liverpool four spurs two is the title dream still alive mukesh
[00:45:17] dream for third place is all see we finished we got back into champions league football and
[00:45:24] we have a cup really it's a successful season what could what more could help have done a mogue
[00:45:30] how can i guess one but no uh i mean even if your title dreams are are over i feel like
[00:45:38] uh spurs is top four dreams are also over because they are now seven points away from top four
[00:45:44] with a game in hand and realistically speaking i don't think with the way they've been playing
[00:45:48] in the last few games i don't think they are going to be able to uh to come back from that and
[00:45:54] and leave frog will are into that into that fourth place but uh lots has been happening we first
[00:46:00] talk about the Liverpool side of things right because uh as soon as i take mohsala out of my
[00:46:05] fbl the f**ker scores a goal and gets an assist and to add to that i swapped him in for bruno
[00:46:14] finandes i got bruno finandes into the fbl even though i don't get united players in and finandes
[00:46:20] even though he was in injury risk i said no yeah he barely misses matches we'll get him in it's
[00:46:25] crystal palace he's the most informed player right now he'll definitely be on the end of a goal
[00:46:31] at least penalty penalty the reports are coming in that later tonight finandes is not in the squad
[00:46:37] because of his injury so i am just so annoyed with this f**king game so i'm okay it is you you are
[00:46:46] the reason that uh leppipool have fell off this type of title race pretty much that's how
[00:46:53] i jinx the teams i get their players into fbl and they f**k up their form uh but no salla
[00:46:58] has now become the first player in the premier league history to score 10 plus goals and 10 plus
[00:47:03] assists in three consecutive seasons see i think i thought second right after runy no he's he's
[00:47:11] matched runy's award uh record as well i think runy's record was for five okay in five season
[00:47:19] but i don't think it was consecutive so uh so yeah well done well done salla just i think this
[00:47:24] is also the mosa last end of tour and what a way for him to go oh really no no i don't think so i think
[00:47:30] mosa last definitely still he's not going to be intimidated by that south yeah because they want
[00:47:37] to i don't think so i think i know i know they want him but i think he's probably earning about a
[00:47:42] million a week at live up or i know he cannot earn way more but i think he probably feels like
[00:47:47] he's not only wants to play for a million a week dude no footballer no no no i'm saying in broadly
[00:47:54] i know i know what i'm saying if you just average it out all of his earnings from elsewhere etc ads
[00:47:58] bad i'm sorry so he's earning about 350 a week i know that's how that's the wage that live up
[00:48:02] who's paying i'm sorry i don't everything anyway what i'm gonna say is i think because they've
[00:48:07] qualified for the champions league i think he wants to give the champions league one more try
[00:48:11] i think realistically next season um time league is out of the picture i don't think honest lot
[00:48:17] is so good that he can oust uh gardyola and challenge uh arsenal and get whoever the new challenges
[00:48:25] which could be Chelsea or united or whatever so i think apparently he's out of the picture i think
[00:48:29] evidence understand but i think there's a good chance like in classic live up pool fashion
[00:48:33] that if this squad and because are already slot baller or in a ball is also just
[00:48:39] high press high attacking football like it's sort of like the early yogan clop
[00:48:44] sort of football in which you just score many goals and you just play to outscore the team
[00:48:48] outscore your opponent which probably works in cup games i think he wants to give that
[00:48:53] champions league one more shot which i think is a very good thing and i think he should
[00:48:57] because if not 200 maybe the next season after he gets 100 million right so i don't think
[00:49:04] i do think he's staying all right uh speaking of clop though clop had a bit of a rank at
[00:49:10] british broadcast in t sports you know firstly it's though this this clops randy rona about
[00:49:17] oh 12 to 12 p.m kickoff and all is just a little bit more and it was pointed out because
[00:49:22] are you crazy everyone's realizing that now just shut up how can you say now every club
[00:49:27] is complaining about that literally every other club has realized what he's saying is correct
[00:49:32] and every club is now making the same point that he was making it's just that back then
[00:49:36] he was alone now the voice are louder because other people are talking just relax with his head
[00:49:40] you can just be thankful that someone brought it up at a time when no one was really talking about it
[00:49:44] it honestly like again even after live up who lost against everton vorgil van dyke was talking
[00:49:50] about 12 30 p.m kickoffs and all it like it just lost a dabby dude against an everton team
[00:49:56] that might go into administration like really amu gliverpool have played the most number of
[00:50:01] 12 30 games it's actually an issue it's actually a legit issue that is not only is it fixture congestion
[00:50:09] but it's also crowding up the fixtures when you can actually easily afford it more time
[00:50:13] it really isn't a big delay it's a very legit issue brought on and i'm not saying live up
[00:50:17] who didn't play shamefully against everton those are two separate things but i think i'm just so
[00:50:22] happy clop is just now like what do you do to let card me he said i am going away i'm going away
[00:50:31] right so i really think on his last game he's got a punch of a king referee or something
[00:50:37] around the nose before it goes no but so he basically said that tnt sports were the reason why
[00:50:42] all these fixture congestion are happening and he told tnt sports that you can take me off
[00:50:50] your subscribers list tnt sports have had a lovely take down of this because they tweeted
[00:50:57] a new punditry application and with durian clop's name on it because he said you know i'm
[00:51:04] on my time off from management i'd be happy to work as a pundit and it says has won the premier
[00:51:11] league check has won the champion league check is multi lingual check willing to work at 12 30 p.m
[00:51:17] on saturdays and there's no check so very nicely done by tnt clop also mentioned in his rant
[00:51:23] that amnesty international should look into this because this is a crime which is the fixture
[00:51:29] scheduling and amnesty international tweeted to him saying sorry you're gonna be a little busy at the
[00:51:34] moment don't think we can in the meantime do donate to us though thanks sweet very funny
[00:51:43] very funny stuff very funny stuff also funny is darwin noon has not just because he's darwin
[00:51:49] noon as any can't score a goal but did you see that he has deleted everything related to live
[00:51:54] pool from his instagram apart from his profile picture but every other piece of content that
[00:51:59] had him in the live pool shirt is now mysteriously gone there's only photos of him playing for
[00:52:03] benfica in europe why is he on his way out yes i think it's as clear as possible that
[00:52:11] he's on his way out although the description still says um live pool player he's like
[00:52:17] we'll also live pool fc and all of that and i don't know if that's so it could be the the
[00:52:22] optimistic if you're a fan of newness uh the optimistic thing is okay maybe he's just deleted
[00:52:27] the post because he just wants the comments to stop because he's also restricted comments and everything
[00:52:32] uh because otherwise he really wanted to make a statement he would have deleted it from his
[00:52:36] profile also but yeah the bad thing and the he's probably on his way out there is also
[00:52:41] interest from basalona like a real interest so i mean i mean honestly so here's what i
[00:52:47] say right and that's what i have to say i think obviously abuse and threats is horrible and that's
[00:52:54] just the worst part of any fandom and so our worst part of any live pool like even live
[00:52:59] pool is no exception so it's the worst right like that's a baseline but i don't think the criticism
[00:53:03] that's going towards him is unfair yeah in any sense yeah if you if you have the worst conversion
[00:53:09] ratio in uh in europe in the top five leagues and i think chris would have outscored him in the
[00:53:16] premier league and i think and i know if you remove his like you know like darwin's newness's
[00:53:22] goals against like teams of like burnley burnley burnley uh chef field all of that he probably has
[00:53:28] five goals six goals and that's he's the most expensive player in live pool history so i don't
[00:53:34] think the criticism is unfair and i think it is like you know i don't think the criticism
[00:53:38] unfair so i do feel like he's reacted childishly almost to this but i i get it like if you're
[00:53:44] if the threats are affecting you it should be acceptable etc uh pretty um but i do think he's
[00:53:51] honestly you see that ad i think it was an ad that he did where he was giving a team talk to his
[00:53:55] teammates in spanish and andy robertson was there just saying i don't know what you said but that
[00:54:00] was fucking amazing let's go you seen that ad yeah yeah when like he's speaking in spanish
[00:54:09] or whatever and he's like fantastic stuff fantastic stuff on the other hand though a lot of spurz
[00:54:14] fans are surprisingly asking for ang pos to call you to be sacked and they're saying things like he
[00:54:20] doesn't know what he's doing he's playing the same style over and over again uh he's being found out
[00:54:27] every week it has to stop he's like a petulant child do you agree with this don't you think that
[00:54:34] ang ball is not really working out for spurs no no i don't think uh that's true at all i'm a
[00:54:41] big fan of ang ball even though he has got results against river pools i mean the first game whatever
[00:54:47] but i do think ang balls working you'd be really stupid to not like ang walley he is very much
[00:54:51] like early flop he's one of the few solutions you have when everyone's going defensive he's going
[00:54:55] on the attack he's not afraid to concede goals because he believes his team can score goals and
[00:55:02] you would be really really silly to not back him right now because keep ang and get it
[00:55:11] of some players i think clive wood hasn't had a goal whatever some in some thousand years i would
[00:55:15] gave him the right players not clever this uh sorry sorry sorry there's one player i forgot
[00:55:21] um in his african one of those top three top four uh was it kuliecki not sure who's not scored
[00:55:29] a goal in a while any of these players please just get rid of them they're very very easily
[00:55:34] ruining what ang ball which can be very exciting and i love looking at ang ball no it's it's
[00:55:38] yeah i completely agree it should it should not even be a topic of discussion since only his first
[00:55:42] season at least give him one more so you know i feel like they can really build on this and you are
[00:55:50] going to suffer some really bad defeats on the way but as long as you stick with the manager
[00:55:56] i think the results will turn around and i feel like spurs are in the storm and also like honestly
[00:56:00] since uh since they they let go of potchettino yeah and honestly what is the answer so
[00:56:08] top three spots were anyway taken before the season began you knew city and asa were going to be right
[00:56:12] on top and you knew one of liveapool liveapool chelsea will take the third spot right depending on how
[00:56:18] it played out what you come in and he's he's still in contention with the fourth spot maybe it was
[00:56:22] just a game or two that went this way that way you're playing the you're playing the best
[00:56:26] football you've played i don't know since potchettino was there in 18 19 you really can't be unhappy
[00:56:31] with ang man absolutely right on that note it is time to end uh don't really want to talk about
[00:56:36] united versus palace because like i said finandas is let's go watch a prediction tell me what your
[00:56:41] prediction uh palace to win two one palace to win two one i'm oh come on they're not your bogey
[00:56:49] team no they are they are 100 percent i do think it's a hundred percent i've seen crystal palace
[00:56:53] beat united at home i was at old trafford and crystal palace beat united at home they are a
[00:56:57] full on oh yeah i remember you really full on bogey team so nice okay i hope i hope i hope united
[00:57:03] lose and then they take this fire to go and beat us next week no chance will be will be defeat here
[00:57:10] there's no chance i'm a very realistic man there is no chance um but yes we shall end this episode on
