[00:01:01] Ashby, a San Francisco based ATS has raised $30 million in Series C funding bringing
[00:01:08] its total to $70 million.
[00:01:11] The funds will support product development and expansion.
[00:01:15] Ashby serves over 1,300 customers including the likes of Opendoor, Reddit and Deal.
[00:01:22] Founded in 2018, the company employs 130 people.
[00:01:28] Another one!
[00:01:29] According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, job openings hit a three-year low in April
[00:01:36] falling by 296,000 to the lowest level since February of 2021.
[00:01:43] Despite this, hires and quits edged up indicating strong demand for workers.
[00:01:50] Additionally, layoffs decreased by 86,000 signaling ongoing labor market normalization.

[00:02:00] Nearly a third of US retirees are considering gig work according to a survey by IndeedFlex.
[00:02:07] Nearly 72% cite cost of living as the main reason.
[00:02:12] Bit offending from this trend, IndeedFlex says they saw a 70% increase in job seekers
[00:02:18] over the age of 62 last month.
[00:02:21] A thousand US seniors between the ages of 62 and 85 were surveyed.

[00:02:30] Deal co-founder and chief revenue officer, Shuowang, is now worth $850 million and
[00:02:37] number 39 on the Forbes richest women's list.
[00:02:42] A Chinese immigrant at the age of 16, she reportedly sold scooters at flea markets
[00:02:47] in high school to study robotics at MIT and eventually co-founding air purification company
[00:02:54] Aegis before launching Deal.
[00:02:57] Shuowang is 35 years old.

[00:03:01] Amsterdam-based Carve has secured $10 million in seed funding to automate recruitment admin
[00:03:07] tasks promising to enable recruiters to focus more on candidates.
[00:03:13] Employers include Global Founders Capital and a handful of Angels.
[00:03:17] The platform, launched in March, employs 33 people.

[00:03:23] Liverpool-based pH Creative, an employer brand agency, has appointed Mark Hardwick
[00:03:29] as CEO.
[00:03:31] Mark bringing with him 29 years of experience, aims to enhance client services and drive
[00:03:37] growth.
[00:03:38] The following CEO and founder, Brian Adams, is currently the CEO and founder of Happy
[00:03:43] Dance, a company focused on candidate experience.
[00:03:47] 20-year-old pH Creative employs 111 people.

[00:03:54] And lastly, friend of the pod and recruitment industry icon, Steve Levy has started
[00:03:59] a new position at DHI Group, the company behind Tech Job Board Dice and Clearance
[00:04:05] Jobs as their principal talent advisor.
[00:04:09] Prior to his new role, Steve was a lifeguard in the 70s, a skill that might serve him
[00:04:15] well now that he's on the Titanic.
