कोकणातील नरवणमध्ये गेलो असताना जंगलात शेतीत राहणाऱ्या सोमण कुटुंबाविषयी कळलं. सोमण पुण्यातली नोकरी सोडून वडिलोपार्जित शेती कसायला म्हणून १९७५ साली ते आले. गावात त्यांना वाळीत टाकण्यात आल्याने, आपल्या जंगलालगतच्या शेतीत एक छोटी झोपडी बांधून ते राहू लागले. हा भाग वस्तीपासून बराच दूर आहे. आजुबाजुला एकही घर नाही. त्यांच्या घरापर्यंत यायचा रस्ता त्या काळात त्यांनी स्वत:च केलाय.
When I went to Naravane in Konkan, I came to know about the Soman family living in the forest as a farmer. Soman was employed in SKF Company in Pune. There was some ancestral land here. He came in 1975. As they were ostracised in the village, they built a small hut in their farm next to the forest and settled down. This area is far away from the habitation. There is no house around. During that time, he himself made the road to reach his house.
