[00:02:58] Our first quadrant that we had was labeled as like rock songs from 1994.

[00:03:04] And the first match up was Green Day Basket Case versus the offspring self-esteem.

[00:03:12] Boy oh boy do I hope Green Day won this one.

[00:03:16] Chris not only did your wish come true. This was the largest margin of win.

[00:03:20] Yes 71% of the votes going to Green Day Basket Case.

[00:03:25] Hey Green Day Basket Case might be the number one seed right now.

[00:03:30] It might be the overall favorite to win it all, right?

[00:03:33] I think so. I think so.

[00:03:35] So the other match up that we had in this quadrant was cranberry zombie versus weezer buddy Holly.

[00:03:43] Weezer had to take this, right?

[00:03:45] It did, but not as wide of a margin as the previous one. Weezer took this was 60% of the vote.

[00:03:51] So okay so pretty convincing.

[00:03:54] Pretty convincing, but still like I thought that that was also going to be a clean sweep which means

[00:03:58] that the final match up of this quadrant.

[00:04:01] I think we could have predicted this one is Green Day Basket Case versus weezer buddy Holly.

[00:04:07] And that that comes down to just personal preference of every single voter at that point.

[00:04:12] Because you can't even say one song is better than the other in that battle.

[00:04:16] That is just what your mood is that day.

[00:04:18] That could have been the finals if they were on different sides of the bracket.

[00:04:23] Yeah.

[00:04:24] You know, those should have been two number one seeds probably.

[00:04:26] I feel like we're talking about this match up so much on one hit thunder lately because we talked about it when we did the 1994 albums draft.

[00:04:35] I saw that this is so hard. I saw that, but you know this year Green Day and weezer are both doing the anniversary album plays.

[00:04:46] Weezer just announced that they're doing a blue album play tour.

[00:04:51] I don't know it's such a tough call man.

[00:04:53] I don't even know which way I'm voting yet.

[00:04:56] No, it's I mean because they're both important in different ways right?

[00:05:00] The next match up so this match up.

[00:05:03] Look, I'm just going to call it like it is right this match up was wraps this quadrant is rap songs with like one or two extra leftover songs.

[00:05:13] And I got to say I should have seen this coming man does our audience not like rap music is what I landed on with this so the first match up was the BC boys sabotage versus Snoop doggy dogs gin and juice.

[00:05:26] Well, in this particular instance I would have went with sabotage just because I don't think gin and juice is even my favorite Snoop dog or Snoop dog affiliated song in my humble opinion gin and juice shouldn't have even won the first match up against regulate by war and like that is just like that is such a better song than gin and juice.

[00:05:46] And the audience did agree with you 65% of the vote going to wezer or to to BC boys this was the closest match up of the entire week.

[00:05:58] Notorious B.I.G. juicy versus Beck loser.

[00:06:02] Oh man, this is another really hard one because I love loser I love loser so much the punchline even covered it on the songs from 94 EP that we released five years ago but

[00:06:17] I said it before I'll say it again, I think juicy is probably top five rap songs of all time yes no I think you're right I think you're right but from what you said before about our listeners I don't know why they wouldn't like rap music I don't know I just off the fact you said that I guess loser probably won right.

[00:06:38] loser one by 51% of the vote it was such a thin margin so now I mean this is another tough match up though is now for that quadrant the final battle is B.C.

[00:06:52] is B.C. boys sabotage versus Beck loser and that's another tough one and I think I might lean Beck loser between those two but they're both 100% A plus plus songs for me.

[00:07:05] I mean sabotage is just so energetic it gets me fired up probably more than it did back then when I watch live performances of them play that.

[00:07:15] them on letterman it's like one of the best performances of all time it's so good I don't know both songs are so good and so fun man these matchups are going to get so hard I feel like as we move on every single match up is going to be 51 to 49.

[00:07:30] I think so too well so let's let's look at what happened in the next quadrant right the next quadrant was singles released in 1994 from albums from 1993 and our first match up was counting crows mr. Jones versus Lisa lobes stay.

[00:07:47] I really hope mr. Jones won but I'm scared mr. Jones won by 57% of the vote so it wasn't like a runaway but it was all not up for debate either it was a very clear win do these songs in the next round basket case buddy Holly sabotage mr. Jones this is this is insane it's just goes to show you how good 1994 is it truly was so this match up.

[00:08:16] Was the second largest margin of win okay and it was Cheryl crows all I want to do versus Tom Petty in the heartbreakers Mary Jane's last dance oh I you know neither of these songs are I mean I like the Tom Petty song but I wouldn't have expected that this would have been a landslide either ways out what you said that it was yeah this was this was behind behind green day this was the

[00:08:46] second widest win I gotta think it was Tom Petty that ran away with it Tom Petty ran away with it was 68% of the votes okay and that means the next match up this might be the easiest match up for you and I here is counting crows mr. Jones versus Tom

[00:09:01] Petty Mary Jane's last dance and it's like I love that Tom Petty song but it is no counting crows mr. Jones let's go crows yeah I think

[00:09:11] I think personally the crows have a very clean clear path to the final two wow okay I think so and then the final quadrant was listed as pop songs in one left over rock song

[00:09:27] and the first match up was a live's I alone versus a nigma's return to innocence oh boy I really hope live didn't advance this far I'll be

[00:09:39] really disappointed I have to hope and pray that it's a nigma criss if anyone ever wants to call into

[00:09:48] question the fairness of the voting and if I manipulate the results let it be the evidence that I that alive I alone one by

[00:10:41] the elite eight I don't like it uh I don't like much of this quadrant and how it's shaped it how the

[00:10:47] shakedown is Chris because the final match up was ace of base the sign versus boys to men I'll make love to

[00:11:02] assume that it didn't go my way now 53% ace of base the sign another another close match um leading to

[00:11:12] the the match up of the elite eight that I'm the least interested in which is live I alone versus ace

[00:11:19] of base the sign oh like that's so bad yeah that's such a bad match up but if you had to put I mean I'm

[00:11:27] hoping I guess for ace of base at this point I do not want to I don't want live making it to the

[00:11:31] final four man I would have been so much more fun if it was a niggum of versus boys it would be

[00:11:36] listen my dream was for that to be the case but unfortunately the votes were not there uh

[00:11:44] I mean I really here's the thing the one thing that I have comfort in is that I feel like no matter

[00:11:49] who wins this this next match up I'm so confident that counting crews advances that I'm like counting

[00:11:56] crews can take live I alone and ace of base the sign any day like that's not even a debate

[00:12:04] unless there's these die hard live fans that are just like is live tweeting out our who who are

[00:12:12] counted across up against their up against Tom Petty I think that they're going to win that pretty

[00:12:16] comfortably you think man don't underestimate Petty first of all I mean I'm all for Mr. Jones

[00:12:26] here but also I'm a little bit scared of the dark horse Abba or not Abba ace of base

[00:12:35] I'm a little bit I'm a little bit scared of ace of base right now because I think we underestimated

[00:12:41] the sign yeah we didn't open up our eyes and see it strongly no the sign was right there man

[00:12:49] but I got to think that green day are the favorites right now I got it that's I gotta think

[00:12:57] that's my guess but you never ever know so I'm really curious to see how these votes go as always
