This week we’re reading listener emails, talking about our projects and just generally checking in with each other and you. Come join us!
[00:00:00] Hi, this is Asim. This is Sujoy. This is Amrita.
[00:00:18] And you're listening to Khandaan- A Bollywood Podcast about the three main Khans of the Hindi
[00:00:23] film industry, Amir, Salman and Shahrukh.
[00:00:26] Hi, you're listening to Khandaan- A Bollywood Podcast regular feed. Thank you so much for your support over the years. We now have a Patreon channel with bonus content and exclusive merch for those of you who would like to support us. Every dollar goes towards creating more and better content.
[00:00:44] Visit us at patreon.com slash Khandaan podcast.
[00:00:48] Hi and welcome to a new episode of Khandaan Podcast. My name is Asim Burney and I'm joined with my lovely co-host Sujoy and Amrita. Hey Sujoy, hey Amrita.
[00:00:56] Hey people.
[00:00:57] Hello, hello.
[00:00:59] I think I should formally apologize for last week's episode because I like totally screwed up the recording and it's been delayed. I actually literally had people tell me like they have a bad day when they log in on Thursday or Wednesday and there's no, you know, new podcast from Khandaan.
[00:01:16] And yeah, so I do feel guilt when I don't post it at the right time. I know you, Amrita and Sujoy are completely free of any guilt or any sort.
[00:01:28] We are shameless and happy but the only thing I feel bad about is like because it I've noticed this pattern with us but our bad luck only runs when we have a guest on the show.
[00:01:42] Like when it's just like the three of us just like fuzzing around everything is like perfect like clockwork.
[00:01:48] And the moment like we invite somebody over it's like something or the other is always going wrong, you know, like something on there and on our end like that is the day that the universe basically comes to a stop.
[00:02:01] So yeah.
[00:02:04] Speaking of guilt, I don't feel any guilt because free kamal hai.
[00:02:08] Don't get paid for this. We just do it out of love. So take it all whenever you can really.
[00:02:17] But yeah, we still do it because we love it and we love the love that we receive from you guys.
[00:02:23] And also you should know, as in like getting around right now but he actually spent like quite a bit of time recovering the files, like doing all that kind of stuff.
[00:02:34] I opened support tickets, yeah.
[00:02:35] Like that's how far I went.
[00:02:37] Support Karo Yellow ticker.
[00:02:39] The main feed hasn't heard it because it's a Patreon only but we got so much good feedback and I was like, yeah, I should watch more older movies and so Joe, you and me were discussing it like, you know, like which ones we can do.
[00:02:51] So I've been actually like delving into like more older movies that I kind of like and I really enjoy and I'm having such a good time.
[00:03:00] I watched, I started watching Vidhata with Dilip Kumar and Sanjadat.
[00:03:07] Man, that movie is a trip man.
[00:03:08] Like wow, I really want to finish it.
[00:03:11] Maybe we can do that on the nostalgia series.
[00:03:14] That one is good.
[00:03:15] So Joe, you had a good pick for it too, right?
[00:03:17] Yes.
[00:03:18] I occasionally go on this YouTube channel called Roy Sound who is from Bombay.
[00:03:24] I think he's a sound arranger and he remasters and produces like he transfers from analog sources to like actually 5.1 Dolby surround.
[00:03:34] So old vinyls and one of these soundtracks was from Mary Jung, the piano theme from Mary Jung.
[00:03:40] Oh, I love it.
[00:03:41] The moment I heard it, I sent it to Asim and I was like, Asim, this made me think.
[00:03:46] I thought of you when I heard this and Asim was like, yes, we should do Mary Jung.
[00:03:51] I was like, yeah.
[00:03:53] That's a movie that I haven't seen in ages.
[00:03:56] I didn't say it in ages but I would 100% torture it.
[00:04:01] I used to be obsessed with that movie when I was like, yeah.
[00:04:06] See, we were meant to be friends.
[00:04:09] Such a random movie and we both have friends.
[00:04:13] It's so much masala man.
[00:04:15] So much masala.
[00:04:16] Also, there's that moment where Newton goes crazy and that's just stuck in my brain, her face.
[00:04:24] But yeah, I don't really want to talk about that movie when we start our nostalgia series.
[00:04:29] I don't know if it was going to be a Patreon exclusive or not, but we're going to figure something out.
[00:04:34] There's a few things happening on the on the Khan Dan front, but we need to just lock a few things down and then we can start announcing.
[00:04:41] But we're very excited about it.
[00:04:43] So I think this episode we're just going to be reading some of the emails and the comments we received on social media and like, you know, email.
[00:04:51] And if you want to write us an email, drop us one at U-Podcasting at Gmail.
[00:04:55] Patreon is probably the best avenue to contact us.
[00:05:00] So Joim, man, you found a few comments on Instagram that you want to read?
[00:05:04] On YouTube actually.
[00:05:05] Oh, YouTube, sorry.
[00:05:06] Yeah.
[00:05:07] So you can also find our episodes streaming on YouTube music and you can find them on YouTube as well.
[00:05:13] On our channel is at the rate Khan Dan podcast and you can comment on all our episodes there as well.
[00:05:20] So one of the listeners, Vishwas Sehgal writes, love this podcast.
[00:05:26] You should also thank Haroon who mentioned your name on the BBC Asian Network for an interview with Karina.
[00:05:32] But what I really wanted to say that you got that right about Karina in making a pivot and making us all believe that she's amazing.
[00:05:40] Love to hear more podcasts only on Karina and how she has been at it for the last 25 years now.
[00:05:46] There is something in her aura and destiny that's going well for her and I hope it continues to do so for the next 25.
[00:05:53] I have to say, Karina's stance have been really on top of this.
[00:05:58] Karina's stance has been all over our feed.
[00:06:03] There was even on Patreon an Amrita that commented, she was hoping for more Bebo content and I was like,
[00:06:09] with Amrita, why don't you just tell me if it's you?
[00:06:11] Thank you.
[00:06:12] I thought for a moment it was you.
[00:06:13] I was like, Amrita, just like what's up me if you wanted to cover a Bebo movie.
[00:06:18] You don't need to go through your Finsta account.
[00:06:24] The funny thing was I had a moment but I was like, when did I leave this comment?
[00:06:30] I was like, you know how you had those stories a few years ago about people taking Ambien or whatever
[00:06:36] and then eating in the middle of the night.
[00:06:38] I was like, am I taking some sort of medication and mixing it up in the middle of the night
[00:06:42] and be like, I want to see more Bebo content.
[00:06:45] Like what is happening?
[00:06:48] But yeah, Amrita, we've seen your comment.
[00:06:54] No, that was the whole interview with Harun is really cool.
[00:06:58] And actually, funnily enough, Harun and me were good friends, we text, we talk a lot
[00:07:04] and we're actually doing, we're going to be doing something on hopefully Harun,
[00:07:09] I'm just announcing it.
[00:07:10] I know you're listening, but we're probably going to do something also on TikTok Live.
[00:07:15] So that's going to be cool.
[00:07:17] But yeah, Sujoy is traveling.
[00:07:20] So we need I need to fill up my time so we won't be hearing from Sujoy for a couple of weeks.
[00:07:25] And Amrita is in India and you don't have TikTok.
[00:07:28] So it's going to be me.
[00:07:28] But Harun basically didn't text me that he had talked about us on the show
[00:07:34] and this comment came and I was like, oh, like the thing is most of the time
[00:07:40] when we get a comment on YouTube, it's an insult.
[00:07:42] So I don't always check.
[00:07:44] I was like, what are people even talking about?
[00:07:46] So I was like, oh, did he talk about it?
[00:07:48] And then I wasn't sure if it was going to get posted or it was like during his radio show
[00:07:53] because he goes from Harun starts at 11 and he finishes at three every day,
[00:07:57] which is an insane schedule.
[00:08:00] So but then I texted him to thank us for mentioning us.
[00:08:05] So yeah, really cool of Harun to talk about us and he's an avid listener.
[00:08:09] So shout out to Harun.
[00:08:12] So but I have to say.
[00:08:14] Can I one more thing?
[00:08:16] That podcast was almost like an hour and a half.
[00:08:18] Only Amrita's comment got picked up because my wife, me and my wife were watching it
[00:08:25] and she was like, oh, who said that on the podcast?
[00:08:27] And I was listening.
[00:08:27] I was like, that sounds too smart for me or Sujoy.
[00:08:30] That has to be a little bit.
[00:08:32] I didn't notice.
[00:08:34] Yeah.
[00:08:35] Did you did you guys watch the interview?
[00:08:37] Yeah, I did.
[00:08:38] I didn't know I didn't watch the entire thing yet, but I have it saved.
[00:08:42] Yeah, so it's it's probably the like best segment of that interview with Bebo is
[00:08:47] the question that the comment Amrita made.
[00:08:50] So yeah, you know, two degrees of separation from Bebo now.
[00:08:55] Yeah.
[00:08:57] So good.
[00:08:57] Although I have to say Harun was saying, you know, like it's the first person he
[00:09:01] interviewed, Bebo is also the first person I interviewed face to face.
[00:09:06] So it was like it was a cool connection.
[00:09:08] And it's also Bebo is the person I've interviewed the most because I think
[00:09:12] I've interviewed her two times or three times.
[00:09:15] So yeah, we were chatting about it and how amazing she is.
[00:09:20] And he's been doing this really cool thing on TikTok.
[00:09:24] I mean, cool thing.
[00:09:25] It's their ranking actresses.
[00:09:28] Have you guys seen that filter where you go one to 10?
[00:09:31] Oh, yeah.
[00:09:32] Yeah.
[00:09:34] And man, it's it's so funny because I'm sure you guys noticed on
[00:09:38] TikTok on Twitter lately, but like there's been a war going on with
[00:09:42] Madhuri fans or something like that.
[00:09:45] Katrina fans.
[00:09:46] Yeah.
[00:09:47] I want to let you thoughts about that because I discussed this with with Harun
[00:09:52] about this and apparently the kids don't like Madhuri anymore.
[00:09:57] No, it's not that.
[00:09:58] It was just like a bun.
[00:10:00] I don't even know why they began coming for Madhuri.
[00:10:03] Like, but a bunch of Katrina fans decided that they didn't have enough drama in
[00:10:08] their life and they were just like, you know what?
[00:10:11] Katrina is like a better dancer than Madhuri.
[00:10:13] And obviously all of Twitter just like went crazy because like you just
[00:10:21] don't come for the queen.
[00:10:22] And then it was just became like it was just a whole bunch of like
[00:10:26] Katrina stands like really young kids going like, look at you.
[00:10:30] You're almost 40 and still fighting on the internet.
[00:10:33] And then people were like, well, Katrina is almost 40.
[00:10:36] So then what does that make you as a stand?
[00:10:39] Like it was just ridiculous.
[00:10:41] It was just went on for days and days and days.
[00:10:43] And now it's like cross platform.
[00:10:45] Like you'll see them on Reddit.
[00:10:46] You'll see them on like all kinds of places.
[00:10:50] It's hilarious.
[00:10:52] The moment I saw that like go live, like some
[00:10:56] Genzi just word solided out of their brains,
[00:11:02] recycle bin on to Twitter.
[00:11:04] And I was like, I'm not going to engage in this.
[00:11:07] Like I did.
[00:11:08] I took the Zen path.
[00:11:10] But like even like when people are ranking and like Madhuri is put on number two
[00:11:16] or three or something like that, people go crazy.
[00:11:18] They're like, why is she so high?
[00:11:20] Like there's definitely I just feel and I was looking a few at the comments
[00:11:25] and there was like a lot of it was on that video of Chanike Ketme, you know,
[00:11:29] the song and I was like, oh, her expressions are so cringe.
[00:11:33] And I was like, man, I'm too old for the internet.
[00:11:37] Like I can't like if this is cringe.
[00:11:41] It's also that I think you posted it
[00:11:45] somebody discovering Diva today and they were like,
[00:11:49] should I go and watch Zanjir now after this?
[00:11:52] Or something like that.
[00:11:53] Oh my God.
[00:11:55] Yeah.
[00:11:56] I've watched Diva for the first time.
[00:11:59] Oh my God.
[00:12:00] And they posted like, oh, these are my thoughts.
[00:12:03] And it's literally the three scenes that you can think of anything.
[00:12:07] Like, oh, Vijay doesn't pick up his chutta.
[00:12:12] The bridge scene.
[00:12:14] Oh, Shashi Kapoor is so restrained.
[00:12:16] He's like, he has everything, but he doesn't have his mother.
[00:12:21] You know, bless them.
[00:12:23] Bless them.
[00:12:24] Like these are the people who are like really mad at, you know,
[00:12:28] was at Austin Butler for saying that he likes Clint Eastwood movies.
[00:12:33] And they were just like, why did these actors always talk about these
[00:12:36] like really obscure movies?
[00:12:38] And I'm like the good, the bad and the ugly.
[00:12:40] Like that's your movie.
[00:12:42] Yeah.
[00:12:45] But yeah, it was a tough situation for me because, you know, like it's Katrina fans
[00:12:51] taking on Madhuri.
[00:12:52] Like, you know, it's hard for me to pick it because a team here, right?
[00:12:56] It's not that hard, but go on.
[00:12:58] Like I don't want to say bad things about Katrina either, you know?
[00:13:02] But yeah, you're crazy.
[00:13:04] If you think she's better than Madhuri, that's insane.
[00:13:08] But yeah.
[00:13:09] But maybe we just question though, like they
[00:13:12] wish was Segel wants to know or wants to hear us talk more about
[00:13:17] Katrina movies, which one should we talk about?
[00:13:21] Hmm.
[00:13:21] Which has a Khan.
[00:13:22] We've already done the last.
[00:13:24] Have you been a show car, right?
[00:13:27] We've done a soccer.
[00:13:29] I'm getting a revival on social media.
[00:13:32] If you have seen that crazy.
[00:13:34] It's all of Thailand basically.
[00:13:38] Yeah.
[00:13:40] It's amazing though.
[00:13:42] Like it's amazing that trend, like so much effort that they put in, you know?
[00:13:45] Like everybody do shame.
[00:13:49] It's so much editing.
[00:13:50] What are the.
[00:13:51] I don't know.
[00:13:51] I could watch any movie after a certain time.
[00:13:54] We've done Bajrangi Bhai Jaan.
[00:13:56] We've done Dalash.
[00:13:57] We've done Lal Singh Chanda.
[00:13:59] You know, I think we've done the main one.
[00:14:02] We haven't done bodyguard yet.
[00:14:03] So that was the one that we probably need to revisit.
[00:14:07] But I think also she's got a lot of work that's non-Khan related.
[00:14:11] And I think we need to start finding these opportunities to talk a bit
[00:14:15] about movies outside of the Khan collective.
[00:14:18] It's again, another idea that we've discussed, but we haven't executed it yet.
[00:14:23] And I think like we haven't done raw one.
[00:14:24] Have we?
[00:14:26] Oh, we haven't done.
[00:14:27] Yeah, we haven't done raw one.
[00:14:28] And that's like, yeah.
[00:14:30] So there are like a few
[00:14:32] Kareena films that are like on our backlog.
[00:14:34] But yeah, we really need to.
[00:14:36] There's like a few things in the works right now.
[00:14:39] That's basically what's happening.
[00:14:40] And we don't want to announce things before they're ready because we've been down
[00:14:46] that path and we know how it goes.
[00:14:49] So like a certain Amita essay.
[00:14:52] Let's not point fingers at them like that is not that.
[00:14:56] That is not what we're doing here.
[00:14:58] I want to open a support ticket with you, Amrita.
[00:15:02] So we're just like waiting around for like a few things to just get clear,
[00:15:06] but it will it will happen sooner than later.
[00:15:08] Next comments.
[00:15:09] Well, we were talking about insults.
[00:15:11] Why don't I include one of them?
[00:15:14] Oh, okay.
[00:15:16] Yeah.
[00:15:18] Well, I don't know if you can consider this criticism.
[00:15:22] Well, as you would expect, this is a comment from somebody who's called user
[00:15:26] dash LS LS 8 WI random
[00:15:31] after numeric string, whatever the internet is scary.
[00:15:34] People with lack of knowledge and content are podcasting anything in the name of
[00:15:38] content. It's like,
[00:15:39] do you have any? No,
[00:15:41] no,
[00:15:43] what this is about though.
[00:15:45] Yeah, what was it?
[00:15:46] This was a comment on our Salman's jacket entry in
[00:15:52] Kisi Kabai Kisi Ki Jaan.
[00:15:56] It's a big fan of jackets.
[00:15:59] It's a big jacket fan.
[00:16:01] I get it.
[00:16:02] I mean, you can't come at me, man.
[00:16:04] I'm like the biggest Salman fan out here talking about Salman literally.
[00:16:08] I literally think I'm one of the biggest Salman film critic fans.
[00:16:13] So I'll make one of the jacket, man.
[00:16:16] I've been like wearing literally his looks in jackets for a very long time.
[00:16:20] That's that still makes me laugh.
[00:16:21] Man, that clip I randomly put it on and I'm like,
[00:16:24] how funny you I was I was I was walking with my daughter the other day
[00:16:30] and I was making some dad jokes, you know, and she was like, Papa, that's not funny.
[00:16:34] She's at that age where Papa is not funny anymore.
[00:16:37] Like sometimes he'll be like, oh, good one, Papa, but it doesn't happen.
[00:16:40] Like the return on investment is getting much, much lower.
[00:16:44] So I was explaining to her, I'm not making you try to make you laugh.
[00:16:47] I'm making myself laugh.
[00:16:49] I find myself hilarious.
[00:16:51] You're like, you know, you're the side effect of it.
[00:16:55] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:16:57] You laugh, I don't care.
[00:17:00] I'm laughing a lot.
[00:17:02] Yeah, I've got three million people listening to me.
[00:17:05] You know, like it's not.
[00:17:08] Online validation is enough.
[00:17:11] Oh my God.
[00:17:12] Anything else?
[00:17:14] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:17:15] So there is another one that somebody called Carpity writes, can you guys
[00:17:19] please do a review of Oppenheimer on your Patreon?
[00:17:22] Patreon, I joined just to listen to that and maybe pair it up with a review
[00:17:27] of Peaky Blinders since that recently wrapped up.
[00:17:29] Would love to hear from you on Killian Murphy,
[00:17:32] since he's clearly becoming a huge thing now.
[00:17:34] OK, that's kind of left fieldish for us.
[00:17:37] I mean, this was also left.
[00:17:40] You can join the Patreon.
[00:17:42] And choose whatever you want us to say.
[00:17:46] This was left on our Kisee Ka Bai, Kisee Ki Jaan review video.
[00:17:50] All right.
[00:17:51] The cross pollination of Oppenheimer both brought destruction in a way.
[00:17:56] Both movies were on destruction and the tragedy we still think about.
[00:18:01] So that makes sense.
[00:18:02] Abhidha, have you watched Peaky Blinders?
[00:18:04] Has anybody watched Peaky Blinders?
[00:18:05] I watched one season of it.
[00:18:07] I haven't.
[00:18:07] It's not really my thing.
[00:18:09] Like I don't know.
[00:18:12] Like it's just.
[00:18:13] And also, I hesitate to mention this, but I do not worship at the church of Killian
[00:18:19] Murphy like I do.
[00:18:21] I don't get it even.
[00:18:22] I don't even get it.
[00:18:23] I get it.
[00:18:24] But you get it.
[00:18:26] I get it. I get it.
[00:18:27] Like he's a he's a good looking man.
[00:18:29] Like I get it.
[00:18:30] But it's basically fetishization at this point.
[00:18:33] And I don't like that is what I don't get.
[00:18:35] I'm just like leave the man alone.
[00:18:36] But yeah, he's not my taste.
[00:18:40] Like that's not my thing.
[00:18:41] There's a lot of these actors that I just don't get.
[00:18:43] Like why people like, you know, like love them that much.
[00:18:47] Even like when it comes to a batch, right?
[00:18:49] Like I don't I don't get it.
[00:18:51] Like I don't get it.
[00:18:51] Like even Tom Hiddleston, I don't get it.
[00:18:53] Like I don't get it.
[00:18:54] OK, maybe these are all British people.
[00:18:56] I just find British people ugly.
[00:18:58] Maybe that's what's going on.
[00:19:01] I should not be in this country.
[00:19:04] He just had a Phil Dunphy moment when he realises all the women he
[00:19:08] fantasises about are powerful black women.
[00:19:11] Yeah, because I'm like Tom Hiddleston and these are the all kind of look like Boris
[00:19:16] Johnson to me.
[00:19:17] I don't want to point out that Killian Murphy is Irish and he would be super
[00:19:21] offended and you call him British respect because you didn't shake Prince Charles's
[00:19:27] hand though, like that's that's a power baller move.
[00:19:30] Like he didn't even shake his hand.
[00:19:32] So that's pretty cool.
[00:19:33] So props for that.
[00:19:35] Yeah. OK.
[00:19:37] Anything else?
[00:19:38] One last one.
[00:19:39] Somebody called.
[00:19:40] Is it an insult again?
[00:19:41] No, no, no.
[00:19:43] Well, it's not a praise for us, by the way.
[00:19:46] It's somebody called Reflects On Life wrote, I think this is your bet
[00:19:51] podcast podcast episode yet.
[00:19:53] This is on the Hamdil Veju Ke Sanam episode.
[00:19:57] You go so deep on Aishwarya, SLB and even more in Ajay Devgan than I've ever
[00:20:03] heard before. So much descriptive contextualization.
[00:20:06] More Sal, please.
[00:20:07] Sal's always like a great addition.
[00:20:10] By the way, we were talking about the ranking of actors and everything on
[00:20:16] TikTok, etc.
[00:20:17] And we like Asim and I, Sujoy was invited, but he had other plans.
[00:20:23] But Asim and Sujoy, Asim and I were on a draft pick podcast with Sal
[00:20:33] that was hosted by our friend Manish Mathur.
[00:20:36] And that should be coming out soon.
[00:20:39] So if you follow us on our socials, just keep an eye out for it because I was a
[00:20:43] really fun, very long episode where we were basically ranking
[00:20:50] Shah Rukh Khan movies and it was really funny.
[00:20:54] I won't say much more about it right now, but all I want to say is they were
[00:21:00] like Asim came in, Asim is like, I am here to win.
[00:21:03] And Manish was like, no, no winners here.
[00:21:06] We won't just here because we love Shah Rukh and Asim was like, no, we're going to win.
[00:21:13] And yeah, there were some weird alliances that were forged in that episode.
[00:21:18] It'll be fun.
[00:21:20] I brought the Sandip Reddy Vanga energy to that podcast.
[00:21:23] Did you see that guy is now feuding with Adil Hussain?
[00:21:27] Like the actor?
[00:21:28] I saw that tweet.
[00:21:29] Yeah.
[00:21:30] Basically Adil Hussain in a particular interview clip
[00:21:36] said that the only movie he regrets doing is Kabir Singh.
[00:21:39] And people can't even remember if Adil Hussain was in the movie.
[00:21:43] And then that clip plays and he was like, I watched myself in that movie
[00:21:49] and me and my friend just walked out of it.
[00:21:51] And Sandip Reddy Vanga is very infuriated, basically calling
[00:21:55] him names, who is Adil Hussain, what has he done, whatever, whatever.
[00:22:00] Very alpha man behavior.
[00:22:02] I kind of also think it's shitty to say something like that as an actor.
[00:22:07] I don't know.
[00:22:08] Like, like, I don't like he didn't have a big of an impact in that movie
[00:22:14] necessarily. I don't know why he was even bringing that up.
[00:22:17] Like, I don't know.
[00:22:18] Like, I thought it was an odd thing for Adil Hussain to say also.
[00:22:22] He was directly asked if there's like a movie that he regrets doing.
[00:22:28] And I don't think he does enough interviews for him to have figured out
[00:22:34] that non-answer-answer technique that all the big stars do.
[00:22:40] You know, and like this is this is what happens when like interviewers are
[00:22:44] basically learning how to interview at the school of Karan Johar because
[00:22:49] every question is like a gotcha question.
[00:22:51] You know, like that's basically everything is like designed to go viral at like some point.
[00:22:56] Yeah.
[00:22:57] All their reals to gain traction.
[00:23:00] And honestly, like right now, everyone knows that, you know,
[00:23:03] Vanga just has like the thinnest skin on the planet.
[00:23:06] So if you want to get those clicks and you want to get those views
[00:23:09] and all publicity is good publicity, then all you need is to get under Vanga's
[00:23:14] skin, which is as easy as so that's what basically happened.
[00:23:19] I mean, he was in Commando too, by the way.
[00:23:21] He was he was in like he was in Bell Bottom.
[00:23:25] Like he was in Good News.
[00:23:27] You know, like I'm not saying like it's just odd for me like anyway.
[00:23:31] But I don't want to get defense and the Freddie Vanga either.
[00:23:36] I kind of like mute.
[00:23:40] I don't know if I muted him, but I just like glance over it whenever
[00:23:44] his controversy start because I honestly don't care.
[00:23:47] Like really, like beyond watching his movie.
[00:23:50] And actually, I think we were quite positive about animal.
[00:23:53] And then that's it.
[00:23:54] I just don't I just don't find him interesting at all.
[00:23:58] Like it's that stupid behavior, you know, like I just I just find it like I
[00:24:02] don't listen to his interviews and stuff like that.
[00:24:04] It's just I find it very stupid.
[00:24:06] So it's just not my vibe.
[00:24:07] Anything else, Susha?
[00:24:09] No, I think that's all that I've got from YouTube.
[00:24:13] Okay.
[00:24:13] Amrita, what did you get?
[00:24:14] I just wanted to read out this one particular comment from
[00:24:21] excuse me, from Patreon.
[00:24:23] A lot of the comments and stuff that we got over the past
[00:24:29] couple of weeks has been, you know, like either stuff about the Amitabh Bachchan
[00:24:35] episode that Asim and I were talking about or else it's been about
[00:24:41] the episode that Haroon discussed us with Karina and stuff like that.
[00:24:45] And that was really nice.
[00:24:47] But Netflix sent us an like a pretty long email.
[00:24:53] And Netflix wanted to like wanted to ask a few questions.
[00:25:00] OK, so the first thing you guys can give me two seconds.
[00:25:04] Can you give me one, two, two, done.
[00:25:07] Chaljuti, what else is coming out in the next couple of weeks?
[00:25:11] That's a good question.
[00:25:12] I'm going to watch Avi Shem, which is the new Saffa movie that's good.
[00:25:17] Good things about.
[00:25:18] Yeah, me too.
[00:25:19] So I'm going to go watch that.
[00:25:22] Are you watching LSD too?
[00:25:24] I'm thinking about it like I want to show my support for it.
[00:25:28] But also I don't want to watch it.
[00:25:30] So I just buy a ticket and then I'll go.
[00:25:33] I've heard it's a tough watch.
[00:25:35] Yeah.
[00:25:36] But it's not playing here.
[00:25:38] I would have gone, but and I will be in Calcutta tomorrow,
[00:25:44] but I won't have the time to go out to the cinema.
[00:25:46] When are you flying to Seoul?
[00:25:50] So tomorrow I'm going to Singapore and then after that, Hong Kong and then Seoul.
[00:25:55] Is it your first time in Singapore?
[00:25:57] Yeah.
[00:25:58] OK.
[00:26:00] That's like, yeah.
[00:26:01] How many days are you going to be there?
[00:26:03] Just two and a half ish.
[00:26:06] Eat all the things to joy like you want to do.
[00:26:09] Thank you.
[00:26:10] So I've got friends.
[00:26:11] I'm staying with a friend in Singapore, so they're going to take me out.
[00:26:16] I think they booked a place for like having chili crab or something.
[00:26:21] Chili crab, yes.
[00:26:23] But also dim sum like the dim sum in Singapore is like excellent.
[00:26:28] I find chili crab to be extremely overrated.
[00:26:31] I have to say it's like it's so much
[00:26:35] for so less meat, it's just like a noise the crap out of me.
[00:26:39] But you have to have kaya toast, though.
[00:26:41] That's what you need to have.
[00:26:42] Yeah, kaya toast is like delicious.
[00:26:45] And you have to tell me the name of the chocolate cake thingie that you like.
[00:26:50] Really hype about.
[00:26:51] Yeah, I'll send you that.
[00:26:52] But Isabel will feel really bad if you have it and she didn't get one.
[00:26:57] So don't tell her.
[00:26:59] No, no, no, I'm joking.
[00:27:00] I'll send you.
[00:27:01] I'm just thinking about that chocolate cake.
[00:27:04] OK, so the first thing that Netflix wants to say is,
[00:27:11] hey guys, please find an opportunity to review the robot movie.
[00:27:14] And for a second, I was like the Rajnikant one.
[00:27:17] And then I realized they were talking about the
[00:27:22] what is it called the TV, TV, but only we judge.
[00:27:26] Yeah, is that it?
[00:27:27] Yeah, yeah.
[00:27:28] Is that how you say?
[00:27:29] Yeah, OK, so I knew if you guys are going to watch it because I know it's
[00:27:33] out on streaming right now.
[00:27:36] I've already watched it.
[00:27:37] Oh, yeah. OK.
[00:27:39] Yeah.
[00:27:40] You have to say that I thought you had watched it.
[00:27:42] Not me. No.
[00:27:43] Oh, I.
[00:27:45] Yeah, basically, I wanted to review it for a while,
[00:27:47] but we just never found the right time for it.
[00:27:51] I really, really enjoyed that movie.
[00:27:53] I like really, really did.
[00:27:55] It's like a really fun thing.
[00:27:58] The thing is, I mean, on the one hand, I enjoyed the movies,
[00:28:01] but they are like if I put my, you know, liberal
[00:28:06] work, whatever you want to call it, brain on top of it.
[00:28:09] Then it's like this movie sucks.
[00:28:11] Right. So if you can detach all of those,
[00:28:14] do not do any thinking about this movie.
[00:28:16] Just enjoy what it is and don't ask questions.
[00:28:20] Then it's a lot of fun.
[00:28:22] But once you start and I do, I love sci-fi.
[00:28:25] I love thinking of, you know, if this was a possibility and AI and
[00:28:30] robot takes and stuff like that.
[00:28:31] But this movie cannot answer or address any of those questions.
[00:28:35] It's not going to work.
[00:28:37] Shahid literally sleeps with Kreeti, who's a robot.
[00:28:41] And you know what?
[00:28:42] Like you wonder what the mechanics of that are.
[00:28:44] Like how does that work?
[00:28:45] Now why did you make a robot like that?
[00:28:46] Shahid doesn't realize that she's a robot.
[00:28:49] So like how is there so much detail in this robot?
[00:28:52] I have a joke about Indian men, but I'm not going to make it.
[00:28:55] I think you can give him the punchline.
[00:28:57] But Kreeti Sanan is amazing.
[00:28:59] She is so good playing the robot.
[00:29:02] I know you have another joke, but let's let's just go past that.
[00:29:05] She is amazing in it.
[00:29:07] She, you know, she's like the thing is because she has to play like a robot,
[00:29:12] but she also has to act like emotions, but also like be a still a robot.
[00:29:17] And she does that really, really well.
[00:29:20] The dancing, the songs, even the romance works really, really well.
[00:29:24] What doesn't work is the second half where it kind of becomes this
[00:29:27] family drama with this whole.
[00:29:30] It had a lot of like two jhooti, maimakar kind of second half vibes,
[00:29:34] which is just a trope I don't enjoy because maybe I just don't like that whole
[00:29:39] family vibe. So that doesn't work for me.
[00:29:42] And then the only way to rescue the second half was to bring Boney Kapoor in it.
[00:29:47] I wish there was more Boney in it, man.
[00:29:50] There's too much boning, but not enough Boney.
[00:29:52] The songs are great.
[00:29:54] We love the songs already you and me suggest,
[00:29:56] but they work really well in the movie too.
[00:29:59] But I don't know, Shahid just seems angry, man.
[00:30:01] He just seemed like a very angry person lately.
[00:30:03] And I don't know what that is about.
[00:30:04] Like even a romcom.
[00:30:07] Even in a romcom, he's quite angry the whole time.
[00:30:10] And I was like, why is this a vibe he's chosen suddenly?
[00:30:13] I don't understand it.
[00:30:13] Like he he's lost all of that charm and that boesiness and in place.
[00:30:19] There's only anger and frustration.
[00:30:21] And I don't know why he's picking that kind of role all the time.
[00:30:24] You know, like Abhishek is only picking like father roles with a single father and
[00:30:30] a child like it's his thing now.
[00:30:32] Like Shahid is just playing a very angry man all the time.
[00:30:35] And I don't know what this is about.
[00:30:38] Yeah, I'd like to see like jumpy mats, ish, ish, Shahid,
[00:30:42] you know, and that's just gone.
[00:30:45] Like it's it's a shame.
[00:30:46] I don't know what I say during next.
[00:30:48] That's a good question.
[00:30:49] So the other thing that's like wants to know is that
[00:30:54] Yami's
[00:30:55] Article 370 is blowing up on the TL.
[00:30:59] Are you going to watch it or avoid?
[00:31:01] They say that if it's another propaganda movie, I don't want to add to the stream
[00:31:05] numbers, but apparently Yami's performance is great.
[00:31:08] And then if I do watch it, I now know what to watch for the good Muslim versus
[00:31:12] the bad Muslim. Good Muslim either tells the authorities about their
[00:31:15] relatives, significant other who is a terrorist and this usually leads to
[00:31:18] their death or the good Muslim sacrifices his life to stop the bad
[00:31:22] Muslims from accomplishing their plot.
[00:31:26] So, yeah, and they've also figured out that a lot of these movies,
[00:31:31] IMDb like farm reviews on IMDb.
[00:31:35] So the ratings are like out of whack.
[00:31:38] I was going to watch Article 370.
[00:31:40] Is that something that you're interested in?
[00:31:41] I like Yamigoto.
[00:31:43] Like I like her.
[00:31:45] Yeah, that's probably the reason.
[00:31:48] Where do you stand to do it?
[00:31:49] I honestly used to like her in like,
[00:31:54] what was the first? My Vicky donor.
[00:31:56] I really liked her in that.
[00:31:58] I didn't mind her in Bala.
[00:32:01] I don't think I've seen any other movies of her after that.
[00:32:04] So I like did you not watch a Thursday?
[00:32:07] I did watch a Thursday.
[00:32:10] No, I didn't watch that.
[00:32:11] I watched the old movie she plays.
[00:32:14] But yeah, I mean, I just don't.
[00:32:18] Yeah, I wouldn't go to a movie just to watch Yamigoto.
[00:32:23] Yeah, I was just so it's so interesting.
[00:32:26] Like there's so many of these Netflix movies that are Indian movies that are
[00:32:30] Netflix movie and so much anti-Pakistan, anti-Muslim content coming from them.
[00:32:35] You have the fighter, you have Article 370 or even just like pushing a political
[00:32:39] point all the time and it's very Israeli when you think about it.
[00:32:45] Like, you know, like just like your agenda being promoted and the other side is
[00:32:50] never really heard about. I was just like yesterday I was thinking,
[00:32:53] you know, like Mola Jet is not streaming anywhere at all.
[00:32:57] It's not available anywhere.
[00:32:59] And but Article 370 is, you know, this is like
[00:33:03] you just have no counterpoint to it.
[00:33:05] Right? So on the one hand, I like Yamigoto.
[00:33:08] She's holding a big gun, which is interesting.
[00:33:10] But I don't know what I'm going to get out of that.
[00:33:12] Like it is probably going to be a pro government kind of
[00:33:16] movie, I imagine, because they're quite right wing, both she and her husband.
[00:33:22] I think he's the director of Uri, right?
[00:33:24] The first strike or the last strike or the quick strike.
[00:33:27] And so yeah, I don't know.
[00:33:29] I don't know if I don't know if I'll even if I'm maybe detached from the
[00:33:34] Kashmir issue a little bit, I don't know what I'll get out of it.
[00:33:37] You know, just being spoken to about like a political agenda that doesn't
[00:33:41] interest me. I just don't think the action will be that good that I have to kind of,
[00:33:45] you know, that the action will be variable for the rest of the movie.
[00:33:48] Also, I haven't heard of that movie too much.
[00:33:51] Like was it a hit? Was it did it work? Did it not work?
[00:33:53] I don't know. This kind of came and went for me.
[00:33:56] OK, I guess that kind of answers that question.
[00:33:59] I don't think anyone of us is really going to be watching Article 370 or 360.
[00:34:04] And also the other movie that they wanted us to review was Chimkila,
[00:34:08] which by the time that you're listening to this episode will already be out.
[00:34:13] And I hope you really enjoy it because that was the episode that we ran into a lot
[00:34:19] of technical issues. So that was one thing.
[00:34:22] And then they're asking something that is really interesting.
[00:34:25] They want to know who amongst the new generation of actors is our favorite
[00:34:32] dancer, male and female.
[00:34:34] Susha, you go first. You're the travel to the group.
[00:34:36] Yeah, I think Ishaan Khattar comes to my mind.
[00:34:39] Yeah.
[00:34:41] Like when you guys were talking about the, you know,
[00:34:44] we won Jabri Med Ka Shahid and Ishwara Ka Shahid.
[00:34:48] That's gone completely to Ishaan Khattar's Jholy now,
[00:34:52] especially with May Parwana in that Pippa movie.
[00:34:56] That entire song just and even in what's the movie he did with Ananya
[00:35:02] where he was dancing, was it called Kali Pili or something?
[00:35:06] Yeah, yeah.
[00:35:07] Yeah, there is a dance song there.
[00:35:09] Like he's a great dancer and like he really,
[00:35:13] you can tell like how effortlessly he picked up the choreography.
[00:35:17] He's a great, great dancer from the new generation.
[00:35:20] I think he's the best, I would say.
[00:35:22] I don't know like Bandio me.
[00:35:25] Who wants to be amongst the women?
[00:35:29] And that's Janhvi.
[00:35:30] Like her entire like social,
[00:35:33] like, you know, I remember the reels even before she had debuted.
[00:35:36] You know, she's to do these reels that were said to Piatu say,
[00:35:39] Nana Lagerde and stuff like that.
[00:35:42] So I know she definitely wants to pick up that mantle from her mom.
[00:35:47] But honestly, none of the, you know, the new batch of kids has,
[00:35:53] has, you know, like
[00:35:56] from starting from Alia down, honestly,
[00:35:58] like none of them have really taken my breath away when it comes to dancing.
[00:36:03] Alia, I think does really well with the expressions like she does really well
[00:36:08] with the with the behalf aspect of dancing.
[00:36:13] She has that down pat.
[00:36:15] You can especially see that in the songs that she's done with Varun Thaban,
[00:36:19] you know, where she's having like a really good time and you can see that
[00:36:23] she's like really relaxed and she's just like giving all those faces
[00:36:26] and it's like really funny and cute.
[00:36:27] But there's nobody there like who just like sort of like takes a breath away
[00:36:32] when you're watching them dance, you know, like when you watched a Katrina
[00:36:35] or you watched a Mardari or a Sri Devi, like those were like just
[00:36:40] this is like really good dancers, you know?
[00:36:45] But yeah, but I think amongst the boys,
[00:36:49] I also like Ishan obviously hands down best dancer.
[00:36:53] But I also think Siddhant Chaturvedi is like a pretty good dancer as well.
[00:37:00] Like he's very loose, he's very like comfortable in his skin, like he moves really well.
[00:37:06] Is he as good as I think Ishan is miles better than most of his cohort?
[00:37:14] Yeah.
[00:37:15] I mean, obviously the first name of good dancer,
[00:37:18] female is Saipal Ravi.
[00:37:19] I don't think there's anybody better at the moment than her,
[00:37:22] although she's not a bodywood actress yet.
[00:37:25] But there's nobody like her, to be honest.
[00:37:29] She's also older than like these kids, I feel like that's another generation.
[00:37:34] Yeah, she looks young though.
[00:37:36] Yeah.
[00:37:37] And then from the from, I mean, again, it depends on who you consider
[00:37:42] this current Lord, but I think Ranbir is amazing.
[00:37:46] We just saw it in 2-Juity Makari was just like, you know, so good.
[00:37:51] Although his face doesn't seem to be of this generation anymore.
[00:37:55] And his headline and Varun, obviously great, great, great dancer.
[00:38:01] But I want to kind of flip the question around though,
[00:38:04] because this relates a little bit to when we were talking about Madhuri and Katrina.
[00:38:09] The problem is that dancing has just changed.
[00:38:12] You know, there's no where do you need dancing anymore?
[00:38:16] Right?
[00:38:17] Where do you need?
[00:38:18] Where do you even have songs anymore that need anything more than a TikTok reel?
[00:38:24] Right.
[00:38:26] And that's not any more.
[00:38:29] There's no Saroj Khan anymore, like who who and I think that also then hurts
[00:38:35] somebody like Madhuri because she's been now cast in Bhol Balayat 3
[00:38:41] and they're already hyping up this dance off between Madhuri and Vidya Balan,
[00:38:45] which I've never considered Vidya Balan to be like an amazing dancer necessarily.
[00:38:50] But they're hyping this, you know, but I was like, who's going to choreograph it?
[00:38:54] Like, I think maybe where we where we merchant is the closest one.
[00:38:58] But even she was also very like, like, you know,
[00:39:03] I'm kind of a choreographer.
[00:39:06] So I don't know.
[00:39:09] There's no choreography and a lot of it is that
[00:39:12] repo for an endless kind of dancing that was going on a little bit.
[00:39:16] And that even hurts dances like Ritik Roshan, who, you know, it's not really great dancing.
[00:39:23] The whole Govinda vibe of Ganesh Acharya is pretty much all done to videocor
[00:39:29] dances like Salman could just, you know, with moving their hands or one part
[00:39:34] of their body at least have like a good song and even that is done.
[00:39:38] So I think the problem is not necessarily like, I think Janvi is amazing.
[00:39:42] I think she's a great dancer.
[00:39:44] She has no songs to dance on, you know, and if she had songs,
[00:39:48] who would choreograph those songs?
[00:39:50] And I think that's kind of the problem we're seeing.
[00:39:53] No. Yeah.
[00:39:55] I think I said that the last year's best
[00:39:57] choreographer, Feefinn Feru went to Junkka Gidare and that was choreographed by Ganesh Acharya.
[00:40:03] Ah, I think that's like that was like that was like a grave miscarriage of,
[00:40:10] I mean, you don't expect anything better from Filmfare, but it should have gone to
[00:40:15] like that Meparwana song, you know, like that was it was fresh.
[00:40:19] It was different or even like one of the songs from from the Archies, you know,
[00:40:24] like the one where Suhana's on roller skates again, like that was like imaginative.
[00:40:29] It was fresh. It was different.
[00:40:31] And they gave it to Junkka Gidare, which it's a fine song.
[00:40:36] I'm not saying it's a bad song, but was it like mind blowing?
[00:40:39] I don't think so.
[00:40:40] Like this year should go to Naram Kalja.
[00:40:43] I'm already calling it, but it's not gonna.
[00:40:45] It's going to be like some, you know, very big movie and very TikTok friendly dance.
[00:40:50] Yeah, yeah.
[00:40:52] Sucks.
[00:40:53] Also, I want to ask you guys this question because I was thinking about this in the car
[00:40:58] in terms of music, what is the biggest drop off and quality from composers?
[00:41:04] Like for me, it's Vishal Shekhar.
[00:41:06] They were like on top.
[00:41:08] Like they were for me, like one of the best composers out there.
[00:41:12] And now it's so bad, like what the kind of things that they're doing now.
[00:41:18] Right? Like a lot of them are singing.
[00:41:20] But like it's such a drop in quality, I feel like it's sad.
[00:41:26] Like there's literally only Pritam and once in a while, Rahman, when he's
[00:41:31] interested and he got paid enough for it, you know?
[00:41:34] Like the chapela.
[00:41:36] Yeah, I mean, I was like immediately I started thinking about Rahman because I was
[00:41:40] like Rahman used to be banger after banger after banger and now it's just like
[00:41:46] on a good day, sure.
[00:41:48] You can really see like who are the people that he's putting in an effort for
[00:41:52] and what are the people that he really doesn't care for.
[00:41:56] And that's really sad.
[00:41:57] Yeah, last one was Vishal Shekhar.
[00:42:00] Fighter.
[00:42:02] Yeah, before that, Pathan, Vikram Veda,
[00:42:05] Jaij by Jordar, Bob Biswas, Chhehre.
[00:42:10] I don't even know what the rest is.
[00:42:11] Bahi 3, that's in 2022.
[00:42:14] Like do you know any song from Bahi?
[00:42:16] Because the Das Bahane remix was in Bahane.
[00:42:20] So it's not even a...
[00:42:22] Yeah, I don't know.
[00:42:23] Do you even know names of composers lately?
[00:42:27] What happened to Shankar Ayesan Lawey?
[00:42:32] Did they break up?
[00:42:34] No, they're still like doing concerts together.
[00:42:38] But they don't compose music?
[00:42:39] I don't know.
[00:42:41] And like I would also say Sachin Jigar are the other big ones.
[00:42:47] But they never got like the big songs though, right?
[00:42:50] And the other was also for me, I was really hyped for Ajay Atul.
[00:42:55] They did a few ones and then also they've kind of like not gotten any songs
[00:43:00] or like big albums anymore since then.
[00:43:02] So yeah, I don't know.
[00:43:04] I think the problem is make all encompassing.
[00:43:06] It's not necessary to answer.
[00:43:08] It's just the music is not there and the composers are not there.
[00:43:12] It's a shame.
[00:43:13] OK, the last question that Netflix has for us is that if we had
[00:43:18] the opportunity to live our lives all over again, would we choose a career
[00:43:22] in the film industry?
[00:43:24] And if yes, then what role would we like?
[00:43:28] And I have a very clear answer.
[00:43:31] Yeah, what is it?
[00:43:32] I mean, I know, but like cinematographer.
[00:43:36] Oh, OK.
[00:43:37] Yeah, I would really go back and study
[00:43:41] everything to do with cameras basically.
[00:43:44] Well, Netflix thinks that you could be an actor because you're very shy,
[00:43:48] but you're very cute.
[00:43:49] I agree. You are very cute.
[00:43:51] What about you?
[00:43:52] You have to now insult me to balance it out.
[00:43:55] I'll leave you on the high.
[00:43:57] I'm keen to hear from you.
[00:43:59] What do you would you want to be involved?
[00:44:03] I would love to be a director, honestly.
[00:44:06] Like I think I'd be I'd be good as a director, I think.
[00:44:09] And be like a writer director.
[00:44:10] I think that's who I'd be.
[00:44:12] Hmm.
[00:44:15] You know, a lot of times they say, you know,
[00:44:17] film critics are failed filmmakers or stuff like that.
[00:44:20] I have no interest in making films in any way, shape or form.
[00:44:25] Like I never did.
[00:44:28] Neither like maybe in college, I had these few ideas like, oh, we should make like a
[00:44:32] movie and I remember back in like when I was 11, 12, we did make a home movie.
[00:44:37] Gladly that technology has gone and that video is not available anymore
[00:44:41] anywhere, but.
[00:44:43] Yeah, I had I really have no interest.
[00:44:46] Maybe producer, I guess, like like the business side of things.
[00:44:51] You think.
[00:44:52] Bonnie. Yeah, I don't know.
[00:44:54] I think I could maybe be a producer just because I have
[00:44:58] a lot of business and I can kind of give ideas about, OK, we should do this
[00:45:05] and that's not going to work or this could work.
[00:45:07] But writing or director, I just don't like no, I don't think I have that in me.
[00:45:12] You know, I hate writing like it's like I let Amrita write most of the things
[00:45:17] because I just like incapable of doing it.
[00:45:19] Is there a job where you just talk?
[00:45:21] Is that a filmmaking job?
[00:45:22] You just talk.
[00:45:23] Yeah, yeah.
[00:45:26] I also think that's a joy would be great as a as a singer.
[00:45:34] But like that is something that he doesn't want to hear.
[00:45:37] No, my sister is a better singer.
[00:45:38] So that's why if it was the 80s, I could be a henchman,
[00:45:41] like a villain henchman, you know, that I could do.
[00:45:45] I see.
[00:45:46] Yeah.
[00:45:47] Like, you know, and duplicate they have this two board guys.
[00:45:50] I could be the third ball guy.
[00:45:53] You missed the subasca era of movies, right?
[00:45:56] Yeah. Yeah, that's what I that's what I could do probably.
[00:46:02] I have I have one email that I can also read here that I found interesting.
[00:46:06] I mean, this is just like a Patreon email from Deepta.
[00:46:10] I started listening to Khanan like so many others doing 2020 was the first time
[00:46:15] in a long time heard any Bollywood content for Bollywood die hard.
[00:46:18] Like me who was reading Stardust magazine with my mom since I was eight years old.
[00:46:23] I love your dynamic from the beginning and it actually made me realize how much
[00:46:27] I was missing Bollywood in my adult life.
[00:46:29] I have I I have since made it a point to connect fans and catch even my non
[00:46:35] Bollywood aware friends up on the latest Khan update whether they want them or not.
[00:46:41] I would love to pass it participate in another quiz or a watch along if you
[00:46:45] can pull one together in terms of episode suggestions.
[00:46:48] The episodes I love the most are any of the late 80s, early 90s movies because you
[00:46:53] guys know that era better than anyone else.
[00:46:55] Side note, I decided to try watching the movies before listening to the episode.
[00:47:00] The first movie I tried that with was Jabaz.
[00:47:03] Let's just say your episode cleared up a lot.
[00:47:08] But overall, just keep doing what you're doing because I love it.
[00:47:12] Thanks again, Deepta.
[00:47:14] Oh, my God.
[00:47:15] That is just yeah.
[00:47:19] Yeah, that's hilarious.
[00:47:21] Yeah, I you know, like we
[00:47:24] I so Joy is going to be away for a couple of weeks.
[00:47:27] So maybe like we can do like a hangout or a quiz on Patreon while while he's away.
[00:47:33] I think like that would make sense.
[00:47:35] I was also speaking with our friend P2.
[00:47:37] I was also speaking with our friend P2 and I was telling her, you know,
[00:47:40] the time has come that you make another appearance on Khan Dan again.
[00:47:43] Lots of people have been asking you.
[00:47:45] So she might be like the perfect person to watch like some sort of old 80s,
[00:47:50] early 90s kind of movie.
[00:47:52] I'm sure I mean, she's so busy with for me ladies, which is amazing show.
[00:47:56] People should check it out with our friend best friend best.
[00:47:59] But yeah, we'll have to probably figure something out once Joy is travelling.
[00:48:02] Where are you going to?
[00:48:03] Joy, you want to tell people actually?
[00:48:05] Yeah, sure. I don't mind.
[00:48:07] I'm traveling starting tomorrow.
[00:48:09] I'll be off for two weeks, taking time off to go to Singapore, then flying to Hong Kong
[00:48:16] for a couple of days and then going to Busan and then Seoul, then back to London.
[00:48:21] So yeah, two weeks of intense travelling and eating and taking pictures and
[00:48:26] meeting up with friends that I haven't met in like almost a decade.
[00:48:30] So yeah, so yeah.
[00:48:32] So if you want to meet Sujoy or you think you saw Sujoy in one of those towns,
[00:48:37] you did see it because I wonder if we have listeners in Korea and Singapore.
[00:48:42] Probably do possibly.
[00:48:44] I don't know. Well, drop a retreat at 93 K.
[00:48:51] I guess that's it.
[00:48:52] I think our next episode is going to be probably Hiramundi Amrita.
[00:48:57] Right? If we can make that happen.
[00:48:59] Yeah, if we can make that happen, otherwise you will see it.
[00:49:03] It'll basically come out the week after Hiramundi drops, but we are hoping that you
[00:49:08] will get it like if the screeners work, which we're not sure if the screeners are
[00:49:13] going to work, but yeah, that's basically going to be our next episode anyway.
[00:49:16] So Lapata Ladies is out on streaming as well.
[00:49:20] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:49:22] So I've watched it already.
[00:49:23] So if either of you watch it, then we can discuss that also.
[00:49:27] Yeah, I'm definitely watch very soon.
[00:49:29] So I'm really excited for it.
[00:49:32] Yeah, I think like your wife would like really like it.
[00:49:36] I think like that's like a movie that you could watch.
[00:49:38] Yeah, I think we're probably going to watch it together.
[00:49:40] So and I think also we haven't done the Varun Grover one.
[00:49:48] Yeah, all in your rank.
[00:49:50] Yeah, that one we haven't actually discussed on the show at all.
[00:49:53] And that also dropped on Netflix.
[00:49:54] So yeah, it's going to be in the season on that for a bit.
[00:49:59] I think I have plans to watch this.
[00:50:02] I have plans to watch the new Don Lee movie.
[00:50:06] I want to watch it in Korea, but I don't know if they will have subtitles.
[00:50:10] So I might watch it in Singapore if I have the time.
[00:50:12] But it would be fun to watch.
[00:50:14] I haven't watched any of the roundup movies in the cinema.
[00:50:19] I've watched like one, two, three before.
[00:50:21] But I'm really excited for this movie.
[00:50:23] And that should be the Salman career that we are missing.
[00:50:27] I have been pitching that idea for so many years now already.
[00:50:31] Salman just remakes Don Lee movies.
[00:50:33] You know, what is what are the next releases?
[00:50:37] I think the big releases, I mean like Ruslan, you know, I think that's coming.
[00:50:41] The releases Ruslan.
[00:50:44] I don't even know what that is.
[00:50:47] And it's going to keep it that way.
[00:50:49] No, it's fine. I'm going to keep it that way.
[00:50:51] The big movies of May, I think Baby John is the big one with Varun,
[00:50:57] the remake of Terry.
[00:50:58] Watch that actually.
[00:51:00] Yeah, that I'm going to watch.
[00:51:01] I don't know if I consider that a big movie, but I'm definitely watching it.
[00:51:05] How far the mighty have fallen because about like 10 years ago,
[00:51:10] that would have been like a 10 years ago, five years ago,
[00:51:13] that would have been like a big release.
[00:51:15] You know, it's like a Varun Dhavan action movie.
[00:51:18] And now it's just like, you know.
[00:51:20] And the big June releases Kalki 28, 98, 80.
[00:51:25] I have no interest in that whatsoever.
[00:51:28] I haven't watched it.
[00:51:30] Yeah, that's why we watch it for because I think like this is like in a long time,
[00:51:35] like this is this is going to be it appears to be like a significant role
[00:51:39] for Amitabh after a very long time.
[00:51:41] And that's why I think I want to watch it.
[00:51:43] But otherwise, like it just seems like another money laundering exercise
[00:51:48] apart from like Amitabh.
[00:51:49] So I don't know.
[00:51:51] I've sat through too many Prabhas movies already.
[00:51:55] And I don't I don't think I have it in me anymore.
[00:51:57] Like my excitement for a Prabhas movie is as much as Prabhas's excitement
[00:52:02] for his own movie, neither of us are excited from the proposition.
[00:52:06] I'm not going to make that.
[00:52:08] I'm not going to see it.
[00:52:09] Like why I saved myself by not watching any
[00:52:11] Prabhas movie in like that's released in the past five years.
[00:52:15] And I think like that's basically what saved me.
[00:52:18] Yeah. And Deepika is in it too, right?
[00:52:20] Does she know she's in it?
[00:52:21] Wait, what? There's Kamala.
[00:52:23] Kamala Sun, I didn't know that.
[00:52:25] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:52:26] Yeah, yeah.
[00:52:28] Yeah, so no releases in the season is coming.
[00:52:31] So we're probably going to be doing maybe we'll do, you know,
[00:52:33] like just random nostalgia picks and stuff like obviously we're going to be
[00:52:37] continuing with our Khan picks as soon as Sujoy is back.
[00:52:40] But I think until he is back, it's going to be a little bit all over
[00:52:43] the place in terms of release schedule, guess and topics.
[00:52:47] So but yeah, do sign up to Patreon because we will be doing either a hangout
[00:52:53] or a quiz or something like that.
[00:52:55] Amrita will keep people engaged on Patreon for sure.
[00:52:58] And maybe Sujoy will be posting his travels on Patreon too.
[00:53:02] You know, so that could be cool.
[00:53:04] I always also follow Sujoy's photography.
[00:53:07] Are you still posting on Instagram?
[00:53:09] Yeah, yeah.
[00:53:10] Yeah, so no, I just thought, you know, maybe you put a private or something like that.
[00:53:14] Amazing. It's always like he has such a keen eye, you know, he's like
[00:53:18] the Santosh Sivan of this podcast.
[00:53:20] OK, I'll take that.
[00:53:22] Sujoy, where can people find you online?
[00:53:24] You can find me on TikTok, Instagram and on what else?
[00:53:30] And you can also follow all our socials of Khandan Podcast at Khandan Podcast.
[00:53:35] Or he will be using Chilli Grab in Singapore.
[00:53:37] Amrita.
[00:53:38] You can find me on Twitter at Amrita.
[00:53:40] I'm at us in Bernie on Twitter.
[00:53:42] Drop us an email at youportcasting.gmail.com.
[00:53:45] Sign up for Patreon for one dollar and get access to us and to the extra content we do.
[00:53:50] And it's an amazing way to support our work.
[00:53:53] Thank you for listening.
[00:53:54] We'll be back with a new episode very soon.
