[00:00:20] around topics of larger public importance that are often lost in the noise of shrill prime time. You see opposition unity is a very important proposition, very important proposition and any person in this country who likes the concept of democracy would always say that
[00:00:50] a strong opposition is the best possible way to maintain democracy. So a strong opposition, powerful opposition is always good. That's number one. Now in India, it's also important that there is opposition unity not just because one has to make a strong opposition, has to
[00:01:17] have a very strong opposition also by the nooks of it and by the current political scenario, under the current political scenario, competing with Bharatiya Janata Party as individual parties is almost next to impossible. So it is not just a democratic necessity, it is also a
[00:01:38] political necessity for parties to come together. So all this I'm sure you know it as much as I do. Now Tejasvi Yadav, Laluprasad Yadav's son and the deputy chief minister of Bihar and Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, these two duo has been going around trying
[00:02:00] to weave the opposition together, bring about opposition unity and they are doing a fairly decent job. Now today as we speak, they are supposed to meet Rahul Gandhi and Malika Arjun Kharkhe for the same purpose. Also to discuss opposition conclave, which they are
[00:02:19] hoping to do in Patna in Bihar and they are there to they are going to discuss dates and time and all of that when you and all of that with Rahul Gandhi and Malika Arjun
[00:02:31] Kharkhe. So this is what these two people that is Yadav and Nitish Kumar are doing, Tejasvi Yadav and Nitish Kumar are doing. Now before I get into my two bits, let's talk about what they did over the past month. You see, over the last month, Nitish Kumar
[00:02:49] met with Trinamul Congress chairperson and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee. He met with Samajwadi party president Akhilesh Yadav. He met with the Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaayek. He met with Delhi CM and Amatmi party conveyor Arvind Kejriwal.
[00:03:06] He also discussed with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav, that is Uddhav Balasai Dhanke division chief Uddhav Thakre. He also met NCP Suprimu Sharadpawar and he met left leaders, that is communist leaders Sitaram Yachuri and D. Raja. So man, he's met everybody. He has almost
[00:03:28] met everybody. There are few people, he hasn't let me tell you who he hasn't. He has yet to meet or not yet met the Telangana chief minister and Bharat Rashtra Samiti chief K. Chandrasekar Rao. He has yet to meet Andhra Pradesh chief minister Vyas Jagan Mohan Reddy
[00:03:46] and apart from that he has almost met everybody. These two people here we have yet to meet. So good, good. The effort is fantastic. You see there is a now there is a popular feeling amongst opposition that you know the Bharat Yajnatha party has grown so powerful,
[00:04:08] so powerful without any competition inside that it is actually bulldozing the constitutional framework. That is what a lot of opposition party members say that it is bulldozing the constitutional federal framework. So they say that listen you know what somewhere down
[00:04:23] the line united we stand otherwise we fall. So important. This is also very, very pertinent and that's precisely why this union or this talk or this kind of getting together is all good. Now let's get into brass type politics. Why is Nitish Kumar doing it? You see obviously
[00:04:45] Nitish Kumar has his eyes set on the Prime Ministerial birth. Nitish Kumar like a lot of other people believe that there is a possibility if the opposition unites together and if country decides to support the opposition united and if opposition united united gets a chance
[00:05:10] to form the government in 2024 together then a consensus candidate will be very imperative. Nitish Kumar sees himself as that consensus candidate. Is he wrong in saying that? No, he is not. You see while he has been a fairly good administrator, he has been a fairly
[00:05:30] good administrator like Modi was when he was the chief minister of Gujarat but Nitish Kumar was not as good as a marketer as what Narendra Modi was when he was the chief minister of Gujarat. What I mean is see Modi created something called as the Gujarat model and
[00:05:51] that made Modi a star, a huge star, star across the country. Okay, that's the 2014 story. Now our man Mr. Nitish Kumar also was called the Susashan Babu that also branding was given to him because he actually turned around Gujarat, turned around Bihar, my apologies.
[00:06:14] He turned around Bihar. He bought about a huge change in Bihar administration. He bought about a huge change in the way things are in Bihar. You know the Bahubali or whatever, the gundaism, the kidnapping, all of that came down drastically came down in his regime. He
[00:06:36] almost made that state. He almost got that state under control because that state was not under control during the Laluprasad the other time. The state was absolutely not under control. It was an Akiri in that state but he bought that state to control and therefore
[00:06:51] he was called to Susashan Babu but the point that I am trying to make is while I repeat that I believe that he is a good administrator but he is not as good as a marketer that Mr.
[00:07:03] Modi was is because Gujarat model became a super brand. He couldn't make the Susashan Babu that he got into a great brand. He never could market it the way Modi marketed it. So that's one flaw. The second is you see, super leaders, super leader happens when
[00:07:26] you stick to one ideology, one policy, one party, one alliance and you stick to that super leader happens. Narayanan Modi stuck to Hindutva, Narayanan Modi stuck to Bharatiya Janatha Party, Narayanan Modi stuck to whatever he believed in right from the day one to now. He stuck to it.
[00:07:48] He has not changed. Nitesh Kumar on the other hand has seen sometimes hiding with BJP then he ditched BJP, went with Lalu then he ditched Lalu came back with BJP then he ditched BJP,
[00:08:00] came back to Lalu and whatever now this time they just we yeah the same same RJD. So consistency has been a problem with him. Consistency has been a problem with him and when you see a leader confused, when you see a leader jumping from one port to another
[00:08:18] port to another, you wonder, what is this leader? So while that being said, Nitesh Kumar is a good administrator I repeat. Nitesh Kumar has shown decent progress in Bihar. Now whether he therefore
[00:08:36] will be seen as a Prime Ministerial candidate one doesn't know but the fact is a consensus candidate when there is a question of consensus candidate who could be approved by everybody there is a chance that Nitesh Kumar can play a role. Nitesh Kumar may get that opportunity
[00:08:55] that he's seeking and this is precisely why this is precisely why Nitesh Kumar is going around trying to weave the opposition and if Nitesh Kumar becomes a Prime Minister, Tejasvi gets to
[00:09:09] rule Bihar, Tejasvi gets to be the next CM of Bihar. So Tejasvi is also completely supporting him like a sidekick he's completely there, he's with them all the way. So good fantastic
[00:09:22] you know efforts are always appreciated that's the point that I wanted to make till I see you in my next report. If you liked this episode please rate us with five stars right now.
