In this episode of The Editorial, Mr. Sujit Nair discusses how politicians are making rhetorical statements during their campaigns. These figures include the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Mr. Nair criticizes these politicians for prioritizing their vote banks over addressing real issues in these elections. To support his arguments, Mr. Nair presents data on poverty, unemployment, farmer and student suicides, crimes against women, and more.

[00:00:00] Namaskar
[00:00:02] Welcome to another episode of editorial
[00:00:07] Batoge to Katoge
[00:00:10] Ek Rahoge to Safe Rahoge
[00:00:14] These are the offers that the Prime Minister of our country has to offer his voters.
[00:00:22] How unfortunate is it?
[00:00:24] Let's talk about it. Let's get right into the show.
[00:00:31] Offering Food
[00:00:34] Offering Employment
[00:00:37] Offering a better life
[00:00:41] Offering respectability, real respectability in the globe
[00:00:44] These are very tough propositions
[00:00:48] for a Prime Minister or a Chief Minister
[00:00:52] or a person sitting in the seat of power to offer.
[00:00:56] They are very tough propositions.
[00:00:59] So you know what? You know what our politician does?
[00:01:02] Our politician doesn't offer you all of that.
[00:01:05] Our politician doesn't offer you all of that.
[00:01:08] Our Prime Minister made a statement where he said
[00:01:21] If we are one, we will be safe.
[00:01:28] We will be safe.
[00:01:28] We will be safe.
[00:01:32] We will be safe.
[00:01:34] And so,
[00:01:36] I am one of you.
[00:01:37] He said
[00:01:38] Batoghe to cutoge
[00:01:39] Katenge to Katenge
[00:01:42] Eeg Rahenge to Neg Rahenge
[00:01:47] Sodakseet Rahenge
[00:01:49] Aur Samvidi ki Prakasta ko Pauncheenge
[00:01:51] One of the largest opposition parties
[00:01:54] He says
[00:01:54] Daroge to Maroge
[00:01:56] That was possibly rhetoric to all of this.
[00:02:00] Katoge, Maroge, Daroge
[00:02:02] This is what your politician has to offer you.
[00:02:07] This is what you deserve.
[00:02:11] You see
[00:02:13] 12.9 crore people
[00:02:15] Are living in extreme poverty
[00:02:18] In 2024 World Bank report
[00:02:22] This is according to 2024 World Bank report
[00:02:24] 129 million
[00:02:26] 12.9 crore people
[00:02:28] Extreme poverty
[00:02:30] Nobody says
[00:02:33] Hum poverty se nikaalenge
[00:02:35] Vote karo
[00:02:36] Nobody says that.
[00:02:38] You know what he is going and telling that person
[00:02:40] You know, Batoghe to cutoge
[00:02:41] Boss, be careful
[00:02:44] Ek raho ge so to safe rehenge
[00:02:46] This is what he is telling that person
[00:02:47] Who hadn't had food for 2 days
[00:02:50] Who has no work
[00:02:51] Who has no job
[00:02:53] Who leaves home in the morning
[00:02:55] To search for a job
[00:02:56] And comes home in the evening
[00:02:58] Empty handed
[00:02:59] The promise given by your politician
[00:03:02] People sitting in the seats of power
[00:03:04] Is
[00:03:06] Batoghe to cutoge Baba
[00:03:08] Khaana maana thik hai
[00:03:09] Oo he ke hai
[00:03:10] Oo he ke hai
[00:03:10] Oo he he that's different
[00:03:12] Batoghe to cutoge
[00:03:13] That's what he has to offer
[00:03:15] You know
[00:03:16] One farmer
[00:03:17] Dies
[00:03:18] Every hour in India
[00:03:20] This is
[00:03:20] According to the NCRB report
[00:03:23] What do you go and tell that farmer's family?
[00:03:26] Batoghe to cutoge
[00:03:28] That is what you go and tell that farmer's family
[00:03:31] You know the child
[00:03:32] Who possibly lost
[00:03:34] His or her father
[00:03:36] The mother
[00:03:37] Who lost her son
[00:03:40] The mother in law
[00:03:41] Who lost her daughter in law
[00:03:44] You go to that family
[00:03:46] And you tell them
[00:03:47] Oo he he suicide
[00:03:48] Or her son committed suicide
[00:03:50] But let me tell you something
[00:03:53] Batoghe to cutoge
[00:03:55] Baba that is important
[00:03:57] So come together
[00:03:58] Unite
[00:03:58] Unite against who?
[00:04:00] Your own people
[00:04:02] Unite against who?
[00:04:04] Your own people
[00:04:05] You know
[00:04:06] Another very interesting statistics
[00:04:08] Student suicides
[00:04:09] Now
[00:04:10] Exceed farmer suicides
[00:04:12] In India
[00:04:13] According to a report
[00:04:15] Why are students committing suicide?
[00:04:17] What is the pressure?
[00:04:21] What is the pressure on the child?
[00:04:25] Unemployment
[00:04:26] There is no work
[00:04:29] Disappointment
[00:04:30] Disillusionment
[00:04:31] This is what draws
[00:04:32] People to commit suicide
[00:04:35] But
[00:04:36] You know what
[00:04:37] The government
[00:04:38] And the people in power
[00:04:40] And our politician
[00:04:41] Go and tell his family
[00:04:42] Baba
[00:04:43] Batoghe na to cutoge
[00:04:48] That's okay
[00:04:49] That's okay
[00:04:49] Batoghe na to cutoge
[00:04:50] That's what
[00:04:53] People in power
[00:04:54] That politician
[00:04:55] Goes and tells
[00:04:57] The dead child's father
[00:04:59] The dead child's mother
[00:05:02] You know
[00:05:03] Let me tell you something more
[00:05:05] You know the unemployment rate
[00:05:08] Unemployment rate
[00:05:09] Stands at 7.8%
[00:05:11] As on September 2024
[00:05:13] 7.8%
[00:05:16] You go to that
[00:05:17] Unemployed child
[00:05:19] That unemployed youth
[00:05:21] And tell him
[00:05:22] Baba
[00:05:22] Job nae na?
[00:05:24] No problem
[00:05:26] Batoghe na to cutoge
[00:05:30] Batoghe to cutoge
[00:05:31] This is what you are going to tell that child
[00:05:33] You know
[00:05:34] Let me talk to you about crime against women
[00:05:37] India records 51 cases of crime against women
[00:05:40] Every hour
[00:05:41] Over 4.4 lakh cases
[00:05:43] In 2022 alone
[00:05:45] NCRB report
[00:05:48] Every hour
[00:05:48] 51 women
[00:05:50] 51 women
[00:05:51] Are tortured
[00:05:53] 51
[00:05:54] There are crime against 51 women
[00:05:56] That happens in India
[00:05:57] These are 51 which are reported
[00:05:59] These are 51 which are reported
[00:06:02] Now imagine the ones which are not
[00:06:05] And
[00:06:07] You go down and you tell that lady
[00:06:10] That
[00:06:10] Thik hai hai
[00:06:13] Batoghe na to cutoge
[00:06:15] Stay together
[00:06:16] Unite together
[00:06:17] And
[00:06:18] We will also offer you 1,500 rupees a month
[00:06:21] Who hai a maara scheme banata ho
[00:06:23] But vote for us
[00:06:25] This girl
[00:06:27] Who is being tortured
[00:06:28] Who
[00:06:28] 51 cases of crime against women
[00:06:31] Every one hour
[00:06:32] These women are consoled
[00:06:35] By saying that
[00:06:36] Katoghe to batoghe
[00:06:37] And
[00:06:38] By being offered
[00:06:39] 1,500 rupees
[00:06:40] And been called
[00:06:41] Meri ladli behna
[00:06:43] I want to know
[00:06:44] How many ladli behna
[00:06:46] Of how many politicians
[00:06:47] Are actually
[00:06:49] Has to actually face crime
[00:06:52] Has to actually face crime against them
[00:06:55] And this is the ladli behna
[00:06:58] That the politician offers you
[00:07:00] Or this is the ladli behna
[00:07:01] That the politician calls
[00:07:02] The women in the state
[00:07:04] You know
[00:07:05] As far as infrastructure is concerned
[00:07:07] The government has allocated
[00:07:08] 11 lakh
[00:07:09] 11 thousand
[00:07:09] 101 crore
[00:07:12] As part of infrastructure
[00:07:13] Which is around 3.4% of the GDP
[00:07:15] They have said that we are allocating for infrastructure
[00:07:18] Bridges are collapsing
[00:07:19] Left, right and centre
[00:07:22] There are cracks on the road
[00:07:24] There are potholes
[00:07:26] On the streets
[00:07:26] But nobody is talking about it
[00:07:29] Why? Because they are more focused on
[00:07:31] Batoghe to cutoge
[00:07:32] So you fall plung
[00:07:34] In a pothole
[00:07:35] The politician will run and come to you
[00:07:37] And say Baba you fell in a pothole
[00:07:39] Ok, ok, but
[00:07:40] Batoghe na to cutoge Baba
[00:07:42] The reason why this entire
[00:07:46] Batoghe to cutoge business happened
[00:07:48] In Maharashtra is because
[00:07:49] Incidentally
[00:07:51] It is said that Marathas
[00:07:54] Dalits
[00:07:54] And the Muslim communities are coming together to vote for Mahavika Zaghadi
[00:08:01] And Shiva Sena and Congress etc.
[00:08:05] And therefore it is very imperative for the Bharatiya Janta Party to unite the entire Hindu community
[00:08:13] Because the Hindu community has to unite
[00:08:16] Otherwise, if Hindu community is split and Muslim community and Marathas and all are together
[00:08:21] Then the chances are that
[00:08:22] It may harm the prospects of Bharatiya Janta Party
[00:08:26] Like it harmed the Bharatiya Janta Party in
[00:08:29] In 2024
[00:08:30] Lok Sabha election in Maharashtra
[00:08:33] To avoid that
[00:08:34] This is the line
[00:08:37] You see my point is
[00:08:41] Nobody is really bothered about
[00:08:44] Going to that farmer
[00:08:47] And
[00:08:48] Going to that farmer's family
[00:08:50] And saying listen you know what
[00:08:52] We will assure you
[00:08:53] That there will be no more farmer suicide in India
[00:08:56] In Maharashtra especially
[00:08:58] Because Maharashtra sees the maximum farmer suicide
[00:09:02] No politician goes and says
[00:09:03] You know why?
[00:09:04] Because no politicians will be ever able to ensure that there is no farmer suicide
[00:09:11] You know why?
[00:09:12] Because for that you require fantastic administration
[00:09:15] You know why?
[00:09:16] Because for that you require to have technical know-how as to how to handle
[00:09:23] Progressive agricultural practices
[00:09:26] Practices that can ensure that that farmer earn money
[00:09:29] No government and no minister today has that capability
[00:09:33] Or today has that confidence to go and tell that farmer
[00:09:36] So the easier way to convince that farmer is
[00:09:41] You know why?
[00:09:42] If you are a farmer
[00:09:43] You will get to the Bajo community
[00:09:44] And you will get to the cut
[00:09:46] This is the easiest way out
[00:09:51] That politician cannot go and tell a youth
[00:09:55] Saying that don't worry I will get you a job
[00:09:57] I will get you a job
[00:10:00] Because that's not possible
[00:10:01] Because for the politician to get a job
[00:10:04] He needs to ensure that there is more investment that is coming to the state
[00:10:08] It is he needs to ensure that there is more companies from India and abroad coming and investing in that state
[00:10:14] He needs to ensure that there is more consumerism in that state
[00:10:18] There is he needs to ensure that he creates demand in that state
[00:10:21] So that demand ensures that there is manufacturing
[00:10:24] Manufacturing ensures that there are factories
[00:10:26] Factories ensures that there are jobs
[00:10:27] And that is something that is beyond the capability of our politicians, our ministers
[00:10:33] And that's why that minister will not come and tell you
[00:10:36] That I will get you a job
[00:10:39] He will come and tell you
[00:10:43] You know, women
[00:10:51] women
[00:10:53] A lot of people talk about Ladli Vibhain and Ladli Bhai
[00:10:57] The point is, do we really care about our women?
[00:11:02] Do we really care about our women?
[00:11:04] What happened to those wrestlers?
[00:11:05] Aren't we seeing it?
[00:11:07] Ram Rahim, Insan, whatever that convicted murderer and rapist
[00:11:11] He is let loose
[00:11:13] He is given furlough after furlough
[00:11:16] Whenever he needs
[00:11:18] He is enjoying his life in jail literally
[00:11:21] The way I see it
[00:11:22] Because every second day he gets a furlough
[00:11:24] This is how we treat our women
[00:11:26] This is the respect we have for our women
[00:11:28] That is something that we need to realize
[00:11:31] And then when it's election
[00:11:33] Maji Ladli Bahin
[00:11:35] Mary Ladli Bahna
[00:11:36] My little sister
[00:11:38] All that happens
[00:11:41] But when there is no election
[00:11:43] Ram Rahim, Insan
[00:11:45] Gets a furlong
[00:11:47] He gets a bail
[00:11:48] To enjoy his birthday party
[00:11:49] The person who has raped women
[00:11:53] This is the respect we give to our women
[00:11:57] Now as far as freebies are concerned
[00:11:59] Which I have been saying for days
[00:12:01] It is easy to hand over a freebie
[00:12:06] It is like giving you a fish
[00:12:09] Instead of teaching you fishing
[00:12:11] It is easy to hand over a freebie
[00:12:13] It will last for maybe
[00:12:15] A year
[00:12:16] Two years
[00:12:17] Look at what is happening to Manarega
[00:12:20] Look at what is happening to Manarega
[00:12:24] These government sponsored freebies
[00:12:27] Will last for few years
[00:12:28] After that you are on your own
[00:12:31] Your status
[00:12:33] Your life
[00:12:33] Your economy
[00:12:35] Your money
[00:12:36] Will remain the same
[00:12:37] There will be no change
[00:12:39] No difference
[00:12:41] No progress
[00:12:43] This is the point I wanted to make
[00:12:45] Till I see you next time
[00:12:45] That's tomorrow at 10
