[00:02:02] Great to be here as always Matt. It's an absolute pleasure to have you back on this show. Could you just introduce yourself
[00:02:10] and tell everyone what you do for people who may not have come across your work before?
[00:02:14] Sure, I run an organization called the Future of Talent Institute and basically we're a think tank
[00:02:21] that tries to look a couple of years, two to three years into
[00:02:26] the future.
[00:02:27] Look at the trends and try to make sense of those trends for the talent community in general.
[00:02:33] So that's what I've been doing for the last 20 years or something.
[00:02:36] It's forecasting in a way, but it's really compiling all the various trends that are out
[00:02:43] there.
[00:02:44] And then just as I said before, try to make sense of them.
[00:02:46] What does this mean for us in recruiting?
[00:02:48] Where are things going?
[00:02:50] And what's it potentially going to look like in three years from now,
[00:02:54] let's say, in our profession?
[00:02:56] So that's kind of what I do.
[00:02:58] Fantastic stuff.
[00:02:59] Now your co-authored book has just come out.
[00:03:02] Tell us a little bit about the book and why you rate it.
[00:03:11] Sure, it's called Talent Acquisition Excellence and the subtitle kind of sums it up in a way. It's called Using Digital Capabilities and Analytics to Improve Recruitment. And you know, I think the
[00:03:19] primary driver in writing this book was that AI and analytics are core to the future of recruitment
[00:03:28] and probably the core of the future of almost every function in the corporate world. So I think
[00:03:34] it was just really important to highlight some of the trends that are happening and then
[00:03:38] how technology and analytics is playing out in that space. So that's really the motivation behind the book.
[00:03:45] As you say, you've been looking into the future of people, HR, talent acquisition for a
[00:03:51] really long time now, and we've been through a number of different technology revolutions
[00:03:57] and kind of shifts and changes to the way that things work over that period of time.
[00:04:04] How does this compare to, you know, for example,
[00:04:07] the introduction of the internet or the introduction of mobile or social media into recruiting? What's
[00:04:12] different this time in terms of where we are right now? Well, this I think for sure is a much bigger
[00:04:20] and much more powerful and impactful invention you could say than anything that you just mentioned.
[00:04:27] It comes close to the internet, but it may actually be even more important than the internet.
[00:04:33] I think that we've struggled for 30 or 40 years or more to try to create an artificial intelligence that was truly intelligent and that could really offer solutions to things and we've come we've come very close to being able to do that now.
[00:04:50] So I mean I think that people like Reed Hoffman who's the founder of LinkedIn and
[00:04:56] and other luminaries are are equally convinced that this is a a fundamental
[00:05:03] technology probably more akin to electricity or the wheel,
[00:05:08] that's going to completely change how we do everything. So it's a big deal, a very, very big deal.
[00:05:15] What does talent acquisition excellence look like bearing in mind we have this huge technology revolution going on.
[00:05:26] Yeah, well I think it's a little bit an evolution, probably not a revolution as some of us might hope.
[00:05:34] But it will be evolving pretty quickly and I think one of the things that people don't quite comprehend or take into consideration is the speed that things happen. The internet took 20 years to become
[00:05:49] universally adopted and used. This was going to take probably has already taken less than a year.
[00:05:58] So what does it mean for recruiting? It means that more and more functions that recruiters
[00:06:03] used to do and take pride in and have skill in doing are going to become at least heavily augmented if not completely automated by technology.
[00:06:13] And so take, for example, sourcing candidates. I think more and more the technology is already being used to find people. people and not only find them but to do a quick assessment of their general
[00:06:26] capabilities to fill a particular role. It can even engage them and reach out to
[00:06:31] engage them. So, you know, the role of a sorcerer over the next few years is
[00:06:36] going to become much less critical. It's going to be many fewer people doing
[00:06:41] that and I think that the sourcing that remains will be
[00:06:45] for those extremely hard to find positions, the positions that really for people that are not
[00:06:52] that do not have an internet presence and so forth. And it will start with a volume recruitment.
[00:06:57] So again, you know, with a high, the routine jobs, the jobs that are probably 80% of all the jobs out
[00:07:03] there, we can already find, engage
[00:07:06] and even hire the people with very little human interaction.
[00:07:10] I think it's going to be able to do assessment and screening in real time, combining,
[00:07:17] you know, whatever you've put in your CV along with your LinkedIn profile, any other
[00:07:24] information that's on the internet about
[00:07:26] you, it can compile all that and derive from that what your skills are.
[00:07:31] It can probably find skills that you haven't even indicated that you have.
[00:07:35] For example, you might speak a language that you've never put on any of your documentation,
[00:07:40] but it will figure out that you're probably going to be able to speak this language.
[00:07:44] So it'll be able to do assessment.
[00:07:46] And I'm not saying that that assessment will be so we automatically hire you,
[00:07:50] but it will give a recruiter or hiring manager an incredibly good picture of who you are and what you can do.
[00:07:56] It will engage you. It will engage candidates and conduct conversations with them.
[00:08:01] Tools are already out there that do this quite effectively
[00:08:05] and they're just gonna get better and better.
[00:08:07] And all of these things I mentioned
[00:08:09] are gonna get better exponentially,
[00:08:11] not in a linear way,
[00:08:12] but they're gonna make incredible strides overnight.
[00:08:16] And that's what's so challenging about it,
[00:08:19] frightening about it and exciting about what's going on.
[00:08:22] So administratively, it will be able to do all the typical routine
[00:08:26] data entry, report generation, all of these things. So I mean, when you look at the recruiting
[00:08:34] function and the steps in the function, I say somewhere around 75 to 80% of it will be heavily
[00:08:41] augmented or automated within the next two to three years?
[00:08:46] If that's the case, and I completely agree with you in terms of the speed of change,
[00:08:52] and I think people really underestimate just how much can be automated
[00:08:57] and probably be made more effective than it is now.
[00:09:01] So with that being the case, what does the T8 team of three or four years time
[00:09:07] look like? What does the function look like? What are people's jobs if indeed there are any
[00:09:14] jobs for humans? Yeah, well, we dedicate a whole chapter in the book to this topic, and I think
[00:09:21] probably our chapter will be out of date very quickly as well.
[00:09:25] But to be quite honest with you, it's going to be a very different function.
[00:09:29] I think the primary role of a recruiting function over the next few years
[00:09:34] will be marketing and branding to attract the right people to your organization
[00:09:41] and to be discovered by the various tools that exist out there.
[00:09:45] I think right now the marketing and branding that most functions do for recruiting is truly
[00:09:51] elementary.
[00:09:52] It's not even one-on-one level in most cases.
[00:09:56] So I mean I think this is a role that recruiters are going to play a big part in and I think
[00:10:00] much better role than AI will be able to play.
[00:10:03] So they may be assisted by AI,
[00:10:06] but I really think the creativity, the innovation,
[00:10:09] the ideas, the context is gonna come from the recruiters
[00:10:13] and the organization.
[00:10:14] So marketing is a big one.
[00:10:16] I think the second big thing for the recruiting function
[00:10:20] is to look at the make versus buy discussion around talent.
[00:10:24] How do we encourage and develop internal talent? is to look at the make versus by discussion around talent.
[00:10:25] How do we encourage and develop internal talent?
[00:10:28] How do we partner with the learning and development
[00:10:30] function to develop more people to fit these roles?
[00:10:33] Yeah, we know that there's a tremendous shortage of talent.
[00:10:38] It's driven partly by demographics,
[00:10:41] partly by the attitude towards work,
[00:10:44] partly by the lack of education or the
[00:10:48] right education. So we know that it's going to get more and more difficult to find the
[00:10:53] right people to fill most of the jobs we have. And therefore, for smart organizations,
[00:11:00] we'll start to develop the ones they have, which will encourage people to stay, will give them more loyalty, and will give them the skills the organization needs
[00:11:09] to achieve its goals. So one of the roles may be for more of TA to more and
[00:11:15] learning and development or to merge more with the learning and development
[00:11:18] function and really foster true internal mobility, which is today mostly talk and not much action.
[00:11:27] And very minimal amount that goes on in most organizations. We still very focus on external
[00:11:33] recruiting. I think the other role for TA in the future will be the conversation and relationship
[00:11:39] building with both candidates and hiring managers. You know, AI can do a certain level of engagement, certainly the early stages, but when
[00:11:47] I get right down to, you know, talking to you, Matt and saying, what would it take Matt
[00:11:51] to get you to take this job?
[00:11:53] You know, what's the one thing that's going to make you say no to this job?
[00:11:57] That's where a human is going to have to play that part.
[00:11:59] They're going to have to understand the psychology of the candidate.
[00:12:03] They're going to have to talk to a hiring manager and say, well, I want you to hire this person. What's the one thing
[00:12:07] that's holding you back from making an offer to this candidate? How can you influence hiring
[00:12:14] managers? How do you influence candidates overcome objections? So these are going to be the
[00:12:19] key things for the recruiting organization of the future to focus on. Marketing, internal development, and the relationship building with both
[00:12:30] candidates and hiring managers. I think those are the key threats.
[00:12:33] I talk to a lot of TA leaders and a lot of TA teams and there's kind of a real
[00:12:38] spread of opinion and reactions to what's going on. And, you know, one extreme people are running it a million miles now
[00:12:49] because they think they might have been a recruiters next year,
[00:12:52] the other end of the extreme people don't think anything's going to change.
[00:12:55] But in the middle, when most people are, there is a bit of a sense of,
[00:12:59] well, let's kind of wait and see what happens, let's wait and see what other people do.
[00:13:04] Do you think employers and TA is moving quick enough
[00:13:08] in this kind of current environment?
[00:13:10] And what are the implications of not moving quick enough?
[00:13:13] No, they're not moving quick enough.
[00:13:15] Most of them, absolutely are not.
[00:13:16] I mean, we've got the old, this is a common theme
[00:13:20] throughout history.
[00:13:21] There's nothing new about this.
[00:13:23] Whether it was the automobile, people resisted it
[00:13:25] strongly. Some people adopt early adopters, loved it, and started driving really crappy early cars.
[00:13:32] And other people said, no, the horse will never go away, right? And we'll always have the horse.
[00:13:37] And other people said, well, yeah, the car is coming, but it's going to be years before it gets here.
[00:13:42] Blah, blah, blah. Okay. So I think this is a common theme throughout history.
[00:13:48] And it's no different for us in recruiting.
[00:13:50] Some people are going to adopt the technology quickly and leverage it and use it and others
[00:13:55] will be very slow.
[00:13:56] But those who get on the bandwagon first, those who do it more quickly, those who understand
[00:14:02] it's a long-term potential, they're going to be the
[00:14:06] ones who win in the end. They're going to hire the better talent. They're going to have a more
[00:14:10] efficient and sustainable recruiting function that's got respect and budget to do what it needs to
[00:14:16] do. And I think over time you will find the ones that don't adopt technology and don't adapt
[00:14:22] will, they'll fade away or be replaced by other
[00:14:26] things.
[00:14:27] So I mean to me it's an imperative.
[00:14:29] We don't, the automobile had 30 or 40 or 50 years, you know.
[00:14:34] The internet had 20 years.
[00:14:36] We don't have that kind of time with this.
[00:14:38] So the technology is advancing so quickly that I think CEOs are going to say, why aren't
[00:14:43] we doing this?
[00:14:44] Why aren't we doing something? What's going on here?
[00:14:47] How come company X is doing this and you're not?
[00:14:51] So I think it's absolutely critical that we move
[00:14:56] with great speed and experiment broadly,
[00:15:01] even though many of the tools aren't quite there yet,
[00:15:04] we still need to start experimenting and using them.
[00:15:08] Yeah, I agree with you 100% I think that in the past there's always been
[00:15:12] the opportunity to course correct as as technology embeds in but this is moving
[00:15:17] so quickly that that opportunity just isn't there.
[00:15:21] As a final question for you, in some ways this is a more difficult question than
[00:15:24] asking you what's going to happen in 10 years time.
[00:15:27] How has changed, you think we'll see this year?
[00:15:30] Where might we be by this time next year?
[00:15:32] Yeah, that's a really good question.
[00:15:34] And unfortunately, we're not gonna be
[00:15:37] where I would hope we would be, I don't think.
[00:15:39] I think some of the more progressive talent leaders
[00:15:44] and companies will start to really use
[00:15:48] the technology that's coming. I mean, one of the interesting things that's going on is the technology
[00:15:52] is moving faster than some of the people are adopting it. So I look at some of the tools that are
[00:15:57] coming today, the sourcing tools and so forth. They're already morphing into offering far more than just sourcing.
[00:16:05] And they know they have to do that to survive.
[00:16:08] So I think that the companies that are really using and leveraging the technology out there,
[00:16:14] companies buying, you have the more current up-to-date sourcing tools that are really looking at the HESs
[00:16:21] and what they're starting, how they're morphing, how they're changing. That it are beginning to look and experiment with using, you know, chat GTP to rewrite
[00:16:29] job descriptions and so forth.
[00:16:31] That's happening already and I think that's probably one of the areas that's most commonly
[00:16:37] being used right now is to use chat GTP or other tools and there's a number of companies
[00:16:42] offering tools that can assess your current job descriptions,
[00:16:46] improve them, remove bias from them,
[00:16:49] help you to make better decisions
[00:16:52] about where to post your jobs
[00:16:54] and how to advertise your jobs.
[00:16:56] The chatbots are improving on the career sites.
[00:16:59] So the companies that are at the forefront of this
[00:17:02] are leveraging everything I just said.
[00:17:04] They're building, they're using these chatbots, they're building better career sites,
[00:17:07] they're posting using AI to help build better job descriptions. They're also
[00:17:16] starting to use more tools for assessment. And even if they're only at the
[00:17:22] screening stage, they're at least starting to be able to screen CDs
[00:17:26] and filter and rank a CDs more effectively
[00:17:30] than they have in the past.
[00:17:32] So I think things are coming,
[00:17:33] they're moving more slowly than I would hope they would.
[00:17:36] And it's probably less than 10% of the companies
[00:17:40] that are actually using these tools well.
[00:17:42] And but I think it's gonna move very quickly in the next year.
[00:17:46] This year is kind of an introductory year.
[00:17:48] I've dubbed this the first year of a decade of change.
[00:17:52] And I think this is just in the beginning of this, I think we're not going to see real
[00:17:57] significant noticeable changes for probably three to four years.
[00:18:03] So it's finally tell us where people in the US can get the book.

[00:21:19] and tell us what you do.
[00:21:20] Well, my name is Bosf van de Haddard.
[00:21:22] I'm a Dutchman.
[00:21:23] I consult with some larger organizations mainly on either improving their careers website
[00:21:31] or improving their selection process.
[00:21:33] I host a major Dutch event called Deital Verver.
[00:21:38] I speak on a lot of international conferences,
[00:21:41] and I just published my sixth book actually already
[00:21:45] but the first one all in English. Well congratulations on the book I know from
[00:21:51] experience how difficult they are to write tell us a little bit about this latest
[00:21:55] book what's it about and why did you write it? Well it's called DA Excellence of
[00:22:00] Diamond Acquisition Excellence and it's basically about how you're going to
[00:22:06] structure TA in a world which is filled with AI, but also the entire changing world of work,
[00:22:15] hybrid remote, global workspace, falling apart in some pieces of the world, and how is that going
[00:22:22] in some pieces of the world, and how is that gonna change
[00:22:25] changing labor markets, changing labor market,
[00:22:28] or desires from people,
[00:22:31] and we tried to look at what's happening,
[00:22:35] plot models on that,
[00:22:37] and especially show people that there's no one way
[00:22:41] to do recruiting right,
[00:22:42] there are several ways to do it right,
[00:22:44] but there are even more ways to do it wrong.
[00:22:46] Just want to ask you a question based on your experience working with all the companies
[00:22:52] that you work with and the conversations that you have with TA leaders.
[00:22:58] We talk a lot about why this is a significant time, why things are changing, you sort
[00:23:02] of really laid out some of the reasons there.
[00:23:07] It really does feel like this reflection point in time acquisition.
[00:23:12] The time acquisition leaders that you speak to, do they share that opinion?
[00:23:16] Are they having issues that need to be solved?
[00:23:19] Can they be tracked to some of the changes that you're talking about?
[00:23:23] Definitely.
[00:23:24] Well, some of them do, some of them don't.
[00:23:25] Let me be very clear.
[00:23:26] I mean, like in every profession,
[00:23:29] you've got the people who are actually more leaders
[00:23:32] and you've got people who are more the managers
[00:23:35] making sure the stores open,
[00:23:37] but not really changing anything.
[00:23:42] Those who see the changes are looking at, for example, I had one
[00:23:48] client who completely revamped his entire talent acquisition strategy,
[00:23:54] was looking at how can technology support us on every part of the journey that
[00:24:00] they can get the journey because he realized first of all it was getting harder and harder
[00:24:06] to get quality recruiters but also he saw on the one hand for many jobs because it was a really
[00:24:15] it had a strong employer brand so it was an employer who still got a lot of applications
[00:24:21] and on some they were just ballooning and on others it was impossible to find somebody.
[00:24:26] So he basically said we need to change everything we do or at least we need to question
[00:24:34] everything we do. The fact that we've been doing this for 25 years doesn't mean it's the right
[00:24:39] thing to keep doing. Again that's interesting I think because you're illustrating there
[00:24:43] a mindset shift that we're
[00:24:45] all seeing the people who are kind of leading and really leaning into this change making.
[00:24:51] How do people go about that?
[00:24:53] What is that mindset shift that you think people need to take right now if they're going
[00:24:57] to achieve talent acquisition excellence in the future?
[00:25:01] Well, in his case, I don't think it was a mindset shift.
[00:25:05] The interesting thing is he came from outside of TA,
[00:25:08] and he was looking at processes, and he's like,
[00:25:11] that's just weird.
[00:25:12] You know, he came from the business itself,
[00:25:17] and he became the head of the London acquisition.
[00:25:22] He now left the organization, or at least he went back into the business again.
[00:25:27] He left the TA part of the organization after I think six years of years. But he was just
[00:25:35] looking at processes. He's like, this is weird. And then he found somebody like me who said,
[00:25:41] yeah, I agree. It was about selection. They sent the very last candidate to an assessment center.
[00:25:50] And basically, they already decided, this is the guy or girl
[00:25:53] we're going to hire.
[00:25:55] Let's spend an insane amount of money on getting a checkbox.
[00:25:59] He's like, isn't that weird?
[00:26:01] And I'm like, yeah.
[00:26:02] He says, how can we do this better?
[00:26:03] I said, well, the earlier assessments are the better and the more candidates. And he's like, yeah, he says, how can we do this better? I said, well, the earlier assessments are the better
[00:26:07] and the more candidates.
[00:26:08] And he's like, yeah, but we don't have the money.
[00:26:09] And I'm like, well, hello technology.
[00:26:12] So we did a pilot on that.
[00:26:14] And you know, things like that.
[00:26:18] And others are just involved.
[00:26:21] What I usually see is as soon as I have, for example,
[00:26:24] a TA leader dinner which I organize
[00:26:27] and we've got a great
[00:26:30] Client speaker who's showing them some amazing piece of technology a lot of people are like oh yeah
[00:26:37] That's a part of the process. I should have looked at at some point and half of them do and half of them don't you know
[00:26:43] it's also about the inspiration
[00:26:46] and that's why I love, for example,
[00:26:48] in the UK you've got the RO100.
[00:26:50] We don't have something exactly similar here.
[00:26:53] We're trying to set some things up.
[00:26:56] But the inspiration,
[00:26:59] and I think that's actually what you're talking about,
[00:27:02] a mindset change.
[00:27:03] I think it's about a mindset which
[00:27:06] should have always been there, TA leader going to events, getting inspired and just realizing
[00:27:13] you know we might need to do something about this. Where should TA leaders be focusing their
[00:27:18] energy in terms of practically improving their talent acquisition? What are the key things to focus on in 2024?
[00:27:26] Sure, I'm gonna answer this question with a very unsatisfying
[00:27:31] answer at the bench, but it does.
[00:27:33] The thing I always used to do when I went
[00:27:35] on was training this was look at what's most important
[00:27:39] for your specific organization.
[00:27:41] So are you having trouble attracting people?
[00:27:44] Or are you having trouble attracting people or are you having
[00:27:45] trouble selecting the right people from the immense amounts that you are
[00:27:50] attracting? So it depends on where your weaknesses are and how important that is.
[00:27:57] I think for high volume if you're still getting in the volume you should focus
[00:28:03] on the selection part. I think if you're having getting in the volume, you should focus on the selection part.
[00:28:05] I think if you're having problem attracting people, you should be focusing on the
[00:28:10] attraction part.
[00:28:11] It's that simple.
[00:28:13] What I do see now is amazing developments and we wrote about that in the book a lot, you know,
[00:28:20] TA excellence is the way AI is changing sourcing.
[00:28:26] I've seen demos of tools which are looking at
[00:28:30] doing automated outreach meshes, it's even.
[00:28:35] I see great recruitment advertising,
[00:28:40] campaign tools which are now not just sending out like two or three different ads, but just
[00:28:48] really quickly checking over a thousand ads and
[00:28:53] We call it next generation programmatic, but I also see amazing developments in selection
[00:28:59] So out of all the technology that you were seeing at my wings
[00:29:02] I know that you you know you look at lots of different things
[00:29:06] in their potential.
[00:29:08] What's the most interesting area out of all of that
[00:29:11] that you think has the biggest potential moving forward?
[00:29:14] Right now, but that might be because I'm biased,
[00:29:17] because as far as I'm concerned,
[00:29:19] overall, the biggest issue is in selection.
[00:29:23] I mean, we've been relying on the CV and on cover letters for ages,
[00:29:29] even though no scientific researchers have been able to show any correlation
[00:29:34] between future achievement and a CV, let alone a cover letter.
[00:29:40] I know actually there's a great academic research right now going on trying to see how different
[00:29:47] recruiters think about different things in causal letters.
[00:29:50] Amazing research and I'm really curious to see the outcome there.
[00:29:56] So when it comes to selection, I think there's the biggest possibility for improvement
[00:30:02] also because in selection we've got the
[00:30:05] biggest issues with labor market discrimination and bias and I think
[00:30:11] especially in Europe America is a little easier on immigration although
[00:30:19] there's still cracking down on it that America has a lot more input from the other, from new Americans.
[00:30:29] That labor market isn't shrinking.
[00:30:33] Our is yours in the UK, mine in the Netherlands, Germany, everywhere.
[00:30:39] We've got a shrinking labor market.
[00:30:41] So we need to make full use of everybody's full potential. We're not doing that.
[00:30:47] Can you agree with you more? I think, you know, the assessment thing is interesting as well
[00:30:49] because I think you came on the podcast two, three years ago, maybe talking about some of the
[00:30:53] interesting assessment technologies that were around. And I think certainly in the last,
[00:30:59] especially particularly in the last 18 months, we've seen big adoption of those tools in the real potential of them, haven't we?
[00:31:06] I haven't seen in the assessment realm,
[00:31:09] I haven't seen amazing new developments,
[00:31:11] to be honest.
[00:31:12] It's now, as you say, the adoption.
[00:31:15] The one thing I have been noticing
[00:31:17] is the term skill-based hiring,
[00:31:20] which is a very ambiguous term,
[00:31:22] but at least everybody's now thinking
[00:31:24] about skill-based hiring.
[00:31:26] And I really like the fact that people are thinking skills,
[00:31:31] not college degrees, skills, not experience.
[00:31:35] And in the Netherlands, there's now a big movement
[00:31:39] to what they call transferable skills.
[00:31:42] And with technology actually still looking at your resume,
[00:31:46] but then taking skills out of your resume and saying,
[00:31:50] but these skills also apply to these jobs.
[00:31:53] So this person might be able to make a really good switch.
[00:31:57] I've seen a really nice piece of Belgium technology
[00:32:01] actually where it extracts the skills from your resume, gives you
[00:32:06] on the website as a candidate, these are the skills that we extracted from your resume.
[00:32:13] Have you forgotten any?
[00:32:15] Do you want to add any?
[00:32:16] Do we extract some that you don't have?
[00:32:19] Adjust it.
[00:32:20] They click on Submit and I know that for one of the major Belgium banks, they now because they say we're doing skill based hiring the first selection.
[00:32:29] So the CV selection is fully automated but also fully transparent.
[00:32:35] You were talking there about adoption, although people like you may get frustrated that it takes so long for technology to be adopted. It's certainly a lot quicker that it was 10 years ago.
[00:32:45] And I think we can now see from, you know,
[00:32:47] as was just saying about assessment,
[00:32:48] we can see these things coming through
[00:32:50] and starting to change the way that people think.
[00:32:53] You mentioned automated sourcing there,
[00:32:55] you mentioned AI driven recruitment advertising.
[00:32:59] You know, it's really clear that we're gonna see
[00:33:01] a lot of these things coming through
[00:33:03] into the mainstream
[00:33:05] in the next weeks, months, years, that De Lita's appropriate. Where does that leave recruiters?
[00:33:10] Where does that leave talent? Where does that leave talent? Where does that leave talent
[00:33:12] at acquisition? What do you think the role of talent acquisition and recruiters is going
[00:33:17] to be in two or three years time?
[00:33:20] So where are we going with dynamic position in a couple of years?
[00:33:25] I think recruiters need different skills, other skills,
[00:33:30] or basically some of the skills which have been useful up to now will be immensely important.
[00:33:38] I think for example interpreting information, interpreting data, for example,
[00:33:42] assessment data will be immensely important.
[00:33:46] I think being more of a talented advisor talking to the hiring manager on what do you
[00:33:54] actually need and how can we measure that?
[00:33:57] It's going to be very important.
[00:33:58] I think data analytics skills are going to be very, very important. You need to be able to question AI and I'm not
[00:34:08] saying you need to be able to program in Python or anything. I can't but I'm able to ask
[00:34:14] developers smart questions and see if the AI actually does what I wanted to do and what I
[00:34:21] expected to do. Those types of questions are very important.
[00:34:26] In the book we actually write about the three things
[00:34:30] which the three skills in general in a world of AI
[00:34:33] and not just for recruiter running general,
[00:34:36] we're gonna be amazingly more important
[00:34:39] and we're currently really underrated.
[00:34:41] That's the editor. You know, right now we emphasize the writer,
[00:34:48] like me, but in the future AI will do the writing and the editor will make it better and making it
[00:34:54] better. It's a very important factor. We'll have the annoying researcher. You know, the people that
[00:35:01] keep on asking questions. Yeah, but what's the what's a foundation? What's our base?
[00:35:05] What's this?
[00:35:06] What data is it based on?
[00:35:07] How did we how do we know that's unbiased?
[00:35:10] You know, the people we usually don't invite to meetings
[00:35:13] because they ask all the questions that we don't want to be asked
[00:35:16] because we don't want to answer to.
[00:35:19] And the first question is,
[00:35:21] whom recently in recruiting brain food refer to them
[00:35:24] as the oddballs I call them
[00:35:25] the Picasso's and the Gaudes, you know the misunderstood creatives that go completely different
[00:35:31] root. That makes a huge amount of sense. So lastly tell us where everyone in Europe can
