[00:00:00] Hello my lovely people, a warm welcome to another episode of Hina's Emo Wisdom Podcast. Well this is your host Hina Ambareen Khan, certified wellness coach, certified life coach, speaker or author, former soil scientist from Indian Institute of Science and in this

[00:00:14] episode I am going to dive deeply into one of the most important aspect that is about consistency. Why we fall short of being consistent? What's that that's actually stopping us from being consistent? And are many of us struggle with consistency right? Have you ever sit girls for yourself?

[00:00:34] Only to find that sticking to them feels like a never ending battle. You're not alone. In this episode let's explore the psychological roots of inconsistency and I am going to share certain practical techniques just like the highlights to help you become more consistent in your daily life.

[00:00:54] And you yours? Let's start by understanding why we often struggle with consistency. One major factor is the fear of failure. We worry that if we don't achieve our goals perfectly, we have somehow failed and this fear can paralyze us into inaction. It's like a mental tug of war.

[00:01:19] One part of us wants to move forward while another pulls his back, afraid of what might go wrong. This inner conflict can make it incredibly challenging to stay consistent. Think of it like trying to cross a river on a rope bridge.

[00:01:39] The goal is to get to the other side. The bridge is shaky and you're afraid of falling. Every step forward is met with hesitation because you are not sure if the next blank will hold. This actually represents the internal struggle many face when trying to be consistent.

[00:02:05] The fear of failure makes each step feel uncertain and risky. Another reason is lack of immediate rewards. Our brains are wide to seek instant gratification but many of our goals like improving our health or learning a new skill don't offer immediate payoffs.

[00:02:28] This can lead to procrastination as we opt for activities that provide quick pleasure over long-term benefits. Overwhelm is another big player. When we have too many goals or tasks, we can feel paralyzed unsure where to start.

[00:02:51] This often leads to doing nothing at all as the mountain seems too high to climb. Perfectionism also comes into play where we set unrealistic standards for ourselves making it easy to get discouraged and give up when we can't meet them.

[00:03:09] So how can we overcome these psychological barriers and become more consistent? First set clear sharp achievable goals. Break down your larger goals into smaller manageable tasks. This makes them less daunting and more achievable.

[00:03:33] For example if your goal is to read more, start with a commitment to read just 5 pages a day. If you want to lose 10 kilos of weight make it a point that every day you lose at least 500 grams. It depends upon how much you can do.

[00:04:00] You can match up from your 100 grams to 500 grams. Consistency often needs a routine. Create a routine. This will help you to flourish in a structured environment.

[00:04:15] Try to establish a daily routine that incorporates your goals whether it's a specific time to exercise, study or work or on a personal project. Focus on progress. Not perfection. Remember it's not about being perfect. It's about making progress.

[00:04:35] But we tend to forget that and because we are behind perfectionism we fall short of everything. Celebrate those small wins along the way and use the setbacks as the learning opportunities rather than the reasons to quit. Use positive reinforcement. Reward yourself for staying consistent.

[00:04:58] Love yourself in that way. It doesn't have to be anything big. Sometimes a small treat or a moment of relaxation can be enough to reinforce this positive behaviour. Be accountable. Share your goals with someone you trust or join a group with similar aspirations.

[00:05:18] Having someone else involved can motivate you to stick to your commitments. And I help you do that where you're going to stick to the schedule and I help you climb that ladder.

[00:05:29] Connect with me and you will see how fast you will be in a position to achieve your goals. Reflect and adjust. Periodically reflect on your progress. If you find that certain strategies are not working, don't be afraid to adjust your approach.

[00:05:49] Consistency is about finding what works best for you. Remember, becoming consistent is a journey not a destination. It's okay to stumble along the way what matters is getting back on track and continuing to move forward.

[00:06:11] Just like crossing that rope bridge every step you take even if shaky brings you closer to your goals. I hope today's episode has given you some insights and tools to help you stay consistent in your endeavors.
