[00:00:04] If only our eyes saw souls instead of bodies, how very different our ideals of beauty would be.
[00:00:11] It's this beautiful quote and I don't know who wrote this but it got me thinking.
[00:00:17] And so hello sunshine and how has your week been?
[00:00:20] You know all of us sometimes, we all do that don't we?
[00:00:24] We laugh at how a fat person will walk down the street
[00:00:29] or how an old person navigates his way across the street or even dances.
[00:00:34] We all make fun of that old uncle who sends these good morning text messages to each one of us.
[00:00:41] Or we sometimes make fun of the way the elderly send us emails or messages.
[00:00:47] We make fun of someone who's really thin or someone who's really dark.
[00:00:52] And what it shows us is how we limit our thinking based on these stereotypes.
[00:00:58] And it got me thinking you know about age and beauty and how we value these concepts of what the world tells us has worth.
[00:01:08] It actually makes me wonder, if we saw souls instead of bodies, what would we find attractive?
[00:01:17] If we could see, would it be the depth of a person's heart and mind instead of the ever changing physical body?
[00:01:25] I'm sure all of us know some very physically attractive people who are just horrible and ugly on the inside.
[00:01:32] Just as I'm sure we all know some nice enough looking people who are so beautiful on the inside
[00:01:39] because of the lovely spirit that shines through their entire whole being.
[00:01:44] And so again the question is, how about you?
[00:01:48] What are we doing today or what are you doing today that will help you reap the benefits tomorrow or 20 years from now when you want people to remember you?
[00:02:00] As we change physically, what will we be remembered for long after our body has left this planet?
[00:02:09] What is it that people will remember us by?
[00:02:12] The memory that we'd like to leave others with.
[00:02:15] What is it?
[00:02:17] Isn't it the love that we shared, the strength that we carried within, the courage that we showed in the face of adversity,
[00:02:25] the calmness that we showed when we were being attacked or maybe we needed to in adverse situations,
[00:02:31] the kindness that we extended towards people, not just our friends and family but maybe even to strangers.
[00:02:40] Isn't that that that should matter?
[00:02:43] The truth is that once we realize that what we actually want is true connections,
[00:02:48] the belief that we are not separate and that we are actually good enough,
[00:02:52] it will end up making a lot of difference.
[00:02:56] Generosity in spirit is what we need to be.
[00:03:00] And being generous in every way, whether it's with our time, our money, our love or even with our words.
[00:03:08] And I think that is what we'll be remembered for for a long, long time.
[00:03:13] You know, not letting the joy of compassion go missing in our lives
[00:03:16] and the lives of our busy, sometimes stressed out friends and family.
[00:03:22] The ability to be compassionate is something that we should consider ourselves lucky
[00:03:28] because we have that in us to reach out to someone.
[00:03:32] Not being afraid of the ways people are different from us, whether it's their caste, their colour, their religion, the way they choose to live their lives.
[00:03:43] You know, understanding that success is not defined by who has gathered or accumulated the most amount of wealth or titles,
[00:03:53] but the one who has transformed and is shining the brightest.
[00:03:58] So now before I end this episode, I have a question.
[00:04:02] In fact, I have several questions for each one of you.
[00:04:04] Who would be your new heroes if external beauty, youth and genetics were off the table?
[00:04:15] Are we willing to redefine our value system to honour people who are compassionate, who are authentic and loving?
[00:04:26] Can spiritual beauty of the soul become the new aspiration?
[00:04:32] What would change in our lives if there was no fear of judgement of the way we looked, of the way we moved?
[00:04:42] How freeing would it be to not measure others and be measured?
[00:04:47] Have a great week ahead everyone.
[00:04:50] And we'll speak to you again next week.
[00:04:53] So much love to all of you.
[00:04:54] Bye for now.
