[00:00:00] Hello Sunshine and how has your week been? Desmond Tutu said that hope is being able to see the light despite all of the darkness. Hope is the last thing ever lost. And it's true isn't it? Sometimes against all odds and logic, all we do sometimes is hope. There

[00:00:31] is a great deal of courage in just hoping. There is comfort in the notion that something can keep us going even when the circumstances seem bleak, when the circumstances seem insurmountable. And I'm sure each one of us have been through situations where we've maneuvered the various

[00:00:48] bumps and tight spots that arise in life. And therefore hope is dynamic. And you know the secret to cultivating hope is to focus on what you can actually control. You know

[00:01:03] the level of hope that we have in our lives can have a big impact. High hope or people with high hope have passion and enthusiasm that fuels their energy. And this passion is dynamic because there is a certain degree of persistence, there is this I will not

[00:01:22] give up quality to it and a follow through that accompanies it. There is certain optimism and they see challenges as opportunities to grow and learn rather than as obstacles. Now hope is more than just wishful thinking, it's a blend of optimism and willpower. For example,

[00:01:44] you have just a few thousands of rupees left in your bank and you know you have to pay your rent and you know you need to go and buy that gift for your friend. And you

[00:01:55] also know that your salary is due next week. It is possible right for you to hope that your finances will improve. Absolutely. Hope can exist even alongside the most difficult situations and emotions. It's possible to become more hopeful by setting reasonable goals, taking

[00:02:14] one step at a time, maybe watching a funny movie when you're feeling a little sad, listening to an uplifting podcast, meeting a dear friend and speaking your heart out. And today we have with us Khursheed Mistry who will tell us what she does every time

[00:02:30] she feels a little sad and how hope helped her. Hi Khursheed and welcome to this episode, welcome to Khullu Sunshine. Hi Seema, thank you so much for having me on your show. I've been following all your podcasts for all the seasons and I truly truly truly

[00:02:48] love them. So thank you for allowing me to speak today. I'm going to speak on is something that I need to convey to myself. The last couple of years have been very very rough. The last

[00:03:03] few months have been even more rough because I lost my mother and a very very close friend of mine, still grappling with many things amongst their loss. Today I'd like to tell

[00:03:15] myself that the one thing I have going for me constantly is hope. And I truly truly believe that this too will pass the darkness that I feel engulfed in will give way to light and to a

[00:03:35] beautiful future. So my main message to me is to hope, to breathe, to believe and to know that I have a lot of love and support that's egging me on whether it's my family, my friends, my beautiful

[00:03:54] dog. There's just so much of love and I'm not alone. I know I feel despondent at times but I promise to pick myself up and to continue to hope and to believe that it's all going to work out for

[00:04:10] my highest good. So thank you Seema for allowing me to speak my mind and for sharing my thoughts on your wonderful podcast. It's truly lovely to be here. Thank you Kursheed for sharing your

[00:04:24] thoughts with us. And here's to each one of us having a week filled with hope because remember a whole stack of memories never equals one little hope. We'll speak to you again next week. So much love to each one of you. Bye for now.
