Be it first time homebuyers or anyone buying a new house or commercial space, the focus shifts to practical clarity. You may not find a perfect home, but you can make it work for you.
The episode highlights three key factors, entrance, kitchen, and master bedroom, that shape most of a home’s energy. It also introduces a personalized approach through numerology, showing that the “right” direction depends on the individual, not just general rules.
Equally important is the role of lifestyle, cleanliness, sunlight, airflow, and positive vibrations, which can elevate even an imperfect space. Viewers are encouraged to trust their instinct and feel the energy of the house before deciding or buying the house.
This conversation is a grounded guide for anyone navigating the complexities of buying a home, offering a balanced perspective on Vaastu that is practical, adaptable, and deeply relevant today thus making the Home-Buying Journey truly happy.

[00:00:00] Our ECG goes up and down. It doesn't go straight line means we are no more. So if we are going up and down, that means we have problems. If you have a problem, you must say, thank you God, I'm alive. But you will never get a perfect house. Just like there's never a perfect human being, there's never a perfect woman or a perfect man. You have to make it perfect. If it is a flat that is already there, people are witnessing it, they're coming and seeing. Yes, you should go by your gut feeling. You should go with what you feel when you're there. You should just close your eyes for a minute and feel the vibe.
[00:00:30] that you're living in this house and how do you feel. I would like to give them that one test to each individual. Who's buying a new house? The master bedroom depends on your relationships. So if it is in the southwest, southwest is called power zone. And generally we have smaller windows. We have no entrances or doors and we keep it more closed. That means protecting and shielding your family. What is the ideal position for a kitchen in the house?
[00:00:57] So the ideal position for a kitchen is the southeast corner. Southeast is called agni corner or it is called the energy zone of fire. So that is when the pantry in an office or the kitchen in the house will be placed. But there are three things important in any kitchen. But when you are buying a house or a property or an office, you will choose.
[00:01:17] We have with us Dr. Bindu Khurana, India's first NumeroVastu consultant and signalist. She's also a Bharat Bhushan awardee and a Nostradamus award winner. With over 18 years of experience in vastu, numerology and spatial energy alignment,
[00:01:43] she works closely with homeowners, developers and businesses to create balanced living spaces. Bindu ji, thank you so much for joining us on the podcast. We've broadly been discussing the bricks and mortar of real estate as it were. But vastu moves beyond that. It boils down to almost an energy level in the house, in the home. And that's invariably so important.
[00:02:07] I want to ask you, Bindu ji, I know it's an art as well as a science. But if somebody asks you, what is vastu? How would you describe it? So I would define vastu as vastu. Vastu means rehana. It's an energy. Everything in life is an energy. And vastu is based on five elements of energy, which is water, wind, fire, sky and earth. How do you describe it? You describe it that this is all available in nature. So nature is in God and God is in nature.
[00:02:36] Vastu's simple meaning, if you have to break it up. And if you say, I believe in Bhagawan, then bh is bhoomi, earth. Gha is gagan, sky. Vha is vayu, air. A is agni, fire. Anna is neer, water. So bhag, gha, vana are the five elements of kudrat or nature. And that's why we always say that every and anything has vastu. So this space, this room has vastu. This office has a vastu. The building has a vastu. A house has a vastu. A city, town, country has a vastu.
[00:03:05] So everything is there in vastu. So let me ask you this. Coming to the concept of home, and I'm differentiating house from home over here. True. How important is it to build in vastu when one is buying a house that will then be converted into a home where a family lives? And how important is it especially for first-time homebuyers? So understanding that when people choose to follow the practice of vastu, they are looking
[00:03:34] at five parameters. One is to have, when you say happy or prosperous, true prosperity lies in being physically fit, which is health. To be mentally energized, that is peace. To be emotionally stable, because we all have emotions who put us up and down. Fourth is to be financially secure. And the fifth is to be spiritually inclined. So when we talk about these prosperity tactics, anybody who buys a house will look at one thing.
[00:04:03] One thing is that there has to be good relationships, whether you have between a spouse, the children, the in-laws, and even the staff. Second agenda, you will definitely look at the health. So everybody's health, including your staff, health is good. Third is that the money has to come in, that the wealth has to come in. If you're in a job sector, you should have a recurring income. And if you're in a business, again, there has to be, you have to improve. You have to get good money. So wealth is very important.
[00:04:30] Fourth agenda, which I do specify and is very prominent, is what you say is, nazar se bachana. You know, the ill effects or the negativity. So how you protect and shield yourself is very important. Negative energy as a guy to be able to block that. Absolutely. And the fifth is your name and fame and reputation. Anybody buying a first home or buying a new house or a larger house should definitely consider. Fair. Let me come to directions, Binduji.
[00:04:58] Is East facing the most important parameter when it comes to buying a house? Or is that just a myth? So East is a great direction. The sun rises in the East. So East gives you what? East gives you name, fame, reputation, respect, adulation and jumping up in life. So East is a very good direction. But it is not the only good direction. We have the North. North gives us opportunities. North gives us, you know, how we have to progress in life. North also gives us abundance and wealth.
[00:05:27] Northeast is another supreme direction. Just say, Kishan, who is God's place? So that is a place of peace and harmony. So a Northeast entrance of a house, East entrance of a house, or for that matter, North entry are superb. These are general great directions. So let me ask you this. For every positive, invariably there is a negative. Yeah. What happens with South facing homes? Is that a complete write-off? No. This is where I disagree. Okay.
[00:05:55] Out of the many vastus that India performs, one being the Vedic vastu. Vedic means Yantra, Mantra, Puja, Vidi and Havan. Second would be crystal vastu. So having your chandelier is a crystal vastu. And then we place these crystals in the house, around the house and under the flooring. Okay. Similarly, you have Ratna adhyay, that is your gemstones vastu. So people wear different rings. They put certain emblems down on your stones at the entrance. So that is called gemstone vastu. Okay. The fourth type is what you call as your astro vastu.
[00:06:25] So they make a kundali. And based on that kundali, they will actually give you your placement directions. Astro vastu is based on the moon. Moon is again Chandrama, Tithi and Nakshatra, based on that. Then you have your feng shui vastu, which is a very popular method, which is the Chinese method. Then you have your color vastu. So you have certain color entrances, certain doors that are particularly painted, certain directions which have different colors. Painting of a wall, taking of a tapestry, taking of a flooring or kitchen coloring is a color vastu. Okay.
[00:06:55] And the seventh type of vastu, which India does, is called the Paira vastu, the Pyramid vastu, where many pyramids are kept in different directions. So I have introduced the eighth type of vastu, which is called numero vastu. Haven't you done a PhD in that? Absolutely. So I've got a Bharat Bhushan award for this from the President of India in 2019. As per my science, it says that everything in life is a number. So from the time you're born to the date you're born, your height, weight, figure, your pulse rate, heartbeat, blood pressure, body temperature,
[00:07:22] your cart, rain, plane is a number, shoe size is a number, chashme ka number hai. Binduji, that's a lot of numbers. Yeah. Everything in life is a number. Sure. So if you're working in NASA, you're working with the directions and the directions and the number games of the planetary positions. Sure. If you're a tailor, you're working with inches and centimeters. Yes. Any and everything has a number. And numbers is something that we understand because we are living in a mass media, a communication. And in an age where we cannot work without our laptops, our calculators and our mobiles.
[00:07:52] Binduji. So carpet area, built up area, super built up area comes in numbers. House number is very important. You see, the number, that is your date of number is our personal good number. Based on that science, this is where I did my thesis and I got my PhD. And that's how I explained to my clients that if you are, for example, a date of birth, three, choose a house, which is three or if not three, six or nine, which is the maths. Or if you're a birth number one, choose a house number one.
[00:08:22] Matching your birthday. Matching your date of birth. Because you can't alter. You can choose a house, but you can't change your date of birth. Let me quickly ask you this. How would I calculate date of birth? The month, the day and the year or just month and day? So we have two important numbers. First is your first primary date of birth. This is your birth number. Okay. The second is called your destiny number, which is birth, month and year total. So if I have to give you an example, share your date of birth, please. 24th April 1974.
[00:08:50] So 24 is number six. That's your prime number. That's your first number. Then you will add 24 plus four. That is six plus four, ten. Plus one plus nine plus seven plus four. So first is your prime number, which is number six. So your lucky number stays at six. Second important number is four. Four combination best is with one. So I would tell you, Ashish, if you're buying a house, choose a house number with six or second number with one. Okay.
[00:09:19] So this is, there is a science, there is a method. Absolutely. Yeah. I want to ask you this when it comes to facing. Now, sure, I would like a north or an east or a northeast. Yeah. But when we live certainly in metropolitan cities, in buildings, they face in all directions. Absolutely true. Developer can say vastu compliant, but some are more vastu compliant than others. Agreed. Even in individual houses in the building itself. How does one choose? Is it practical to even choose?
[00:09:49] So this is where my science slightly differs to the others. Where it differs is that we choose our house or rather the house chooses us. Date of birth is something that you're already born with and you cannot alter. So what happens is if you are a number six, for example, I'm taking the example again. Your best direction is southeast. Because six represents southeast. I see. And your next number is four. Four represents southwest.
[00:10:16] So if the general good number is north, northeast and east, your personal good directions will be southeast and southwest. Now, somebody who's another vastu consultant or for that matter, your Google or your chat GPT will say, oh, only north, northeast and east houses are good. But that's a general rule. But when you are buying a house or a property or an office, you will choose what is personally good to you. It has to make you good.
[00:10:43] So answering your question, is south direction good or bad? But if you are a number nine by birth or by destiny, south Disha is the best direction for you. If south, that you say Yamka, it's the house of the Lord of Yama, it can give you abundant wealth. And that's so contrarian to the regular thinking. Regular science. This is where we differ. So when people come to us, choose this house, choose this house, choose this house.
[00:11:11] I can give you multiple examples on a personal level where we have worked for them that they chose north direction, didn't do so well. Worked with east direction, didn't do so well. Worked with north east and didn't do well. And then they said, South, we have a lot of benefit. How? Your science is wrong. I said, no, the science is not wrong. The science stays. You have not understood the knowledge. It's the personalization of the science that also plays a part. It has to be customized. Absolutely. You cannot have everything general. It cannot be possible.
[00:11:39] Now, Binduji, I've seen this happen to me. I've seen this happen to a bunch of other people. When you start going into vastu as lay people, not as experts, then it's almost like going down a rabbit hole. Then every small thing you start questioning, you start second guessing. And I know that's important, but that's not for us to do. That's for an expert to do. For us, what are the top three things that we should look at from a vastu point of view when we are contemplating a property?
[00:12:07] So the first very important is your entrance. Okay. Okay? Entrance, we call a mukh-duar in Hindi. So no matter how old you are, no matter how fat you are, no matter how weird looking you are, if you speak well, you're kind, you have a smile on your face, people are attracted to you. So we call a mukh-duar in Hindi. So whatever is your entrance, if you're lit, it's decorated, there's a rangoli. It may be a simple door, but you make it neat, clean. There's no kachreka daba there.
[00:12:37] I mean, there are no chapals kept around. But it's a neat, clean place. It always will attract more energy. So that's a very basic. It's welcoming. Yeah, it's a welcoming house. Okay? The second thing that I would definitely like to consider is the kitchen. Because kitchen indicates health. And health and well-being go together. If you're healthy, you're wealthy. If you're healthy, you're fine. And everything works well. So kitchen placement is very essential in any house. It may be a 1 BHK. It may be a 10 BHK. It may be a bungalow. Okay?
[00:13:06] But kitchen placement is very, very important. Ideal placement is southeast. Okay. Second position we grant it is at northwest. Okay. And third is at east. Okay. Where the sunlight comes. And if you understand it as a science, sunlight should come into your kitchen. Fair. Okay? The third important thing that I do consider is, of course, your relationships. Because you may have all the wealth in the world. But you don't have to share it with a loved one. It's useless. Then what is the point of the wealth? Yes.
[00:13:35] So southwest is the best direction for a couple. Okay. So now we're talking master bedroom. Master bedroom. Okay. And in an office, southwest cabin for the boss. I see. Okay? Now if it is not southwest for whatever reason. At least south or west. So we try to give you those positions of the bedroom. And for that matter, for all the other things. At least these three points, if you take 50 to 60 percent, you have got your house vastu correct. So we're talking entrance. We're talking kitchen. And we're talking master bedroom. Absolutely.
[00:14:05] There are other parameters like the bathroom placements and all. But in flats, we will always get something which is not okay. Fair. That is to be considered. How important is the direction of the main entrance of the house? So the main entrance of the Mukhtuwar strongly talks about how you welcome yourselves when you enter house and how you welcome all your other guests in the house. Okay? Keep one point in mind that it has to be neat, clean, presentable. You can have a toron. You can lit it up.
[00:14:35] You can have your diya. You can have your rangolis. You can do it up the way you want. But it should be a clockwise opening door. Many homes are anti-clockwise. Okay. And you will notice those people says that everything is very good in our house. The vastu is very good. We took care of everything. But when we come into our house, we're very tired. We're very lethargic. We don't feel like doing anything once. So you will notice that their entrance is anti-clockwise. I see. So energy always flows in clockwise direction.
[00:15:02] So that one point, if you consider, is very important. House numbers are also very important. Sometimes what we do is we try to alter it. So for example, I have a house which is a four-number house. Okay? And I'm in the A block. So I'll write A dash four, which becomes five. A is equal to one. Ah. So we change it. We alter it. Okay. So sometimes we write alphabets. Okay. Or we try to do like suppose if it's a 13-number house. It's a very common question, which a lot of people already having a 13-number house.
[00:15:32] So in 13, what we do is one and three. We make the one into a square. So it becomes number three. Three is again om. Ah. Or that one and three. The three becomes the om and the one. So the house number is one. It looks like 13. It is 13, but it is actually number one. Numerical one. So it's literally the font that it is written in. We change it. The design. Because the number of whatever of the house is or of the flat is, that is your identity of the house. Understood. If it is a bungalow, the bungalow has a name. Sure.
[00:16:00] So that numerologically you can always change it. But flat numbers are very difficult to change. So we write all these additions, subtractions and alphabets and ground flow and top flow and we try to bring them to good variable so that we come to good totals. That's the way we manage it. Fair. Yeah. What is the ideal position for a kitchen in the house? So the ideal position for a kitchen is the southeast corner. Southeast is called Agni corner or it is called the energy zone of fire.
[00:16:28] So that is when the pantry in the office or the kitchen in the house will be placed. But there are three things important in any kitchen. A is a water body. B is a fire zone. And C is your heavy. That is your storage. So you should always have the Agni corner or the fire zone. Fire zone doesn't only mean your hob and the gas. It also means all your electronics. Sure. Your tandoor, your ovens, your microbes. Anything you're cooking in. Yeah. The electrical points is the Agni.
[00:16:56] So that in the kitchen, there's the east and southeast. Okay. Then there's a water. There's drinking water. There's matka water. There is your sink. And there's vegetables. Sometimes they have a small place for vegetable washing. That is a north zone. So the ideal placement is northeast and northwest or north zone you can say. Within the space of that kitchen. Within the space of your kitchen. No matter how big or small it is. Okay. And the third, of course, is your storage zone. So you can have all your fridges.
[00:17:21] You can have all your extra things like your storage of your grains and, you know, all the things. A lot of families, they store for annual grains and everything. Your cabinets. That is in the south, southwest or west in the kitchen. Got it. Yeah. In a house or in an apartment, what is the best direction or location for the master bedroom? The master bedroom depends on your relationship. So if it is in the southwest, southwest is called power zone. And generally, we have smaller windows.
[00:17:51] We have no entrances or doors. And we keep it more closed. That means protecting and shielding your family. So it is always needed to shield. So southwest is a perfect zone in a master bedroom. Okay. Besides that, you can have the south. You can also have the west. And you can have the northwest. Northwest is perfect for unmarried daughters or guests. Northeast is very good for children. Okay. And east is very good for students. Okay. So we have different areas in where we can have.
[00:18:20] But for master bedroom, it is southwest. For practical question, because so many of us live in large cities. If a house doesn't match vastu perfectly, should one just avoid it? No. So what happens is, in vastu, we have two main things, agendas. One is the placements. And second is the energy. I have seen some placements which are horrible. I will use a word very negative, like south entry or southwest entry.
[00:18:50] And for that matter, the bathroom is in the wrong place. But they have perfect energy. They have the house lit up. They have it decorated. They have it so neat, clean. There is a bhajan kirtan or some music going on. There is a flower decoration. There is a diya. So the energy is so vibrant that nothing negative can go. Oh. And sometimes I have seen beautiful vastu. Very good entrance, perfect placement of kitchen, master bedroom, children's room. But it's so untidy. It's cluttered. It's dirty. It's not cleaned.
[00:19:19] There are cobwebs. So such a house, of course, you will say it's a contradiction again. So we always match the energy of the people staying in that house and the placements. Okay. But you will never get a perfect house. Okay. Just like there's never a perfect human being. There's never a perfect woman or a perfect man. You have to make it perfect. Fair. That's actually the key point. You make it perfect. You do the best with what you have. But even if you have a 60, 65, 70, 75 percent, you're in a good zone. Fair.
[00:19:49] Fair. Yeah. I've often heard this being said. Bathroom in the northeast corner of the house is an absolute no-no. No-no. Is that true? To some extent, yes. Can it be corrected? It is. So I have personally shut down a lot of bathrooms. The northeast. There is a problem of wealth. There's a problem of health. There is a problem of relations going south.
[00:20:17] I have seen a lot of negativity in the northeast. So what we do is, if they have an option of another bathroom, we tell them to use that. Okay. And to remove the commode out. Okay. And use the bathroom as a shower zone. Ah. Or you use it, you know, like for a small space for children to enjoy as a small swimming pool or something. And to pull out the commode. I see. But there are homes that they have no options. Yes.
[00:20:42] Especially if it is northeast is near the entrance and it happens to be a servant zone. They cannot allow the servants to use their rooms or their bathrooms. Then what to do? Then there is a treatment. In treatment, like I would like to explain this as treatment. Like for example, you have diabetes. The diabetes will not go. But with the right medicines, the right diet, with the right exercises, you can maintain your diabetes. Like that. Northeast, the problem will not go.
[00:21:11] But you can manage it. Okay. It's like that. You cannot say that just because I've done the treatment, I've put some copper puttis, I've put some pebbles, I've put some black tourmalines, I've put some salt, I've done it. It will not go. It's not a solution, but it's management. It's not 100% curable. Okay. Yeah. I want to come to another point. How important or how does Vastu impact the financial situation or even the stability of a homeowner?
[00:21:39] So the homeowner depends on A, his entrances, his main, that is his master bedroom, then also his finance zone. So the finance zone in any house or any office is the North and Northeast. Okay. So that's why we give you the mandir in the Northeast. Got it. Or in some cases, the North also. North should be open, should be airy or it should be lower than. So one tile lower. So that is all because the flow of wealth comes from Southwest to Northeast. I see. It flows from Southwest to Northeast.
[00:22:10] So whatever is lower, the energy absorbing is better. So for wealth transaction, for more wealth, there are a lot of things available in the market that people put. They use these ready-made things. But ideally, you can have a beautiful window or a garden or a green patch or even some plants in the Northeast or North and will do well in financial. Definitely. Okay. So sometimes it's location and sometimes what you can also put in the location that works. Absolutely.
[00:22:37] And so along the angle of wealth and stability, specifically safes or lockers, where should they be in the house? Yeah. So every locker, cash drawer, or for that matter, where you keep your wallets should open in the North. So the ideal placement is South Wall or Southwest Wall. South Wall or Southwest Wall so that when you open it, it's facing north.
[00:23:05] And opening in the North, again clockwise, inside you can put mirrors. So you can have one, two, three, four, five, six mirrors. You can have three mirrors because mirrors indicate multiplication. I see. So mirrors putting in the tejori or cash drawer is perfect. Okay. But the rule is that I would like to share with everybody is if you put your bills in it, they will also multiply. So choose to put what you're putting. If you're putting property papers, yes. Putting cash, yes. If you're putting your checks, yes.
[00:23:34] You can put your jewelry, very good. So put the right things and multiply accordingly. Okay. Yeah. That way. That was the finance area. Right. When it comes to relationships, stability, harmony, peace, how does Vastu impact it? And if one feels that there is an issue, can Vastu even correct it? Yes. Absolutely. This is a very beautiful thing because Vastu does believe in a lot of corrections.
[00:24:04] So the master bedroom or the southwest zone is a relationship corner. We don't like to have windows here or a door here. If it is raised brilliantly, so you can raise the side where your bed is or you can raise where your tejori because again, tejori comes in southwest. You can raise that portion. You can have a hardcore cabinet or a draw or something which is a sturdy, heavy thing. Or you can use pyramids or something ready made to enhance that. That indicates that your relationships are very strong.
[00:24:32] So that will always help you to have a strength of character for your relations. Okay. Besides that, you can keep a couple photograph. You can keep a shadi photograph. You can keep anything that is dual. So you can have two swans. You can have a pair. Anything that is double as a couple kept in the southwest corner is perfect. And family portraits in the southwest indicates that the family stays together. Binduji, specifically when it comes to children, their growth, their well-being, studying,
[00:25:01] them advancing in life. Vastu wise, what should be important in the house as far as they are concerned? Direction, where they sleep, where they study? Absolutely. So ideally we give them, like I told you, daughters we give northwest. Sons we give northeast. We can also give them a north room. We can give them an east room. We can give them a west room also or the south wall also. The head position of the bed in any room should, best is always south. So your head is in the south. Second position is east.
[00:25:30] Third is west, but not never. Okay. Okay. Then you have for the children's room, study table is very important. Yes. So when they are studying, they should never sit under a beam. Ah. So that could be any direction? Yeah. No, it has to be north direction or east direction. Study. Study. Okay. So the study table has to face the north or face the east. Okay. Okay. That's one very important thing. Okay. Plus I always tell parents, I guide them that you should have a cabinet or a drawer or a shelf
[00:25:59] where the children can put up their awards, their laurels, their certifications, their medals. Because the placement, if you give it to them, they will earn that much. If they don't have a place and it'll be lying down. What is seen is actually happening. Ah. So it's very important for them to have a wall which gives their honors and achievements. Besides the cabinets where they can have it on the south or on the west, if they have to have a mirror or a zone where they need to get ready, the mirror should never reflect
[00:26:28] back on the bed. Ah. But it should be on the north wall or on the east wall. Okay. So their little, you know, study table is there. They have a little placement where they get ready. Sleeping is there and of course they have a cabinet. So for children, I personally feel as if they have two rooms and they have two children, which many times you see the parents give one room each. Hmm. I would personally suggest give them one room which is a sleeping room. Okay. So that their bonding is very important till they grow till at least 18, 20 years. Yes.
[00:26:58] Okay. So they're sleeping together. They may have individual beds, especially if it's a boy and a girl child. And they can have little cabinets and they can have these beds individually in one room. In one room, they have their games. They have their studies. They have their tuitions. Okay. They can have their sports activities. So one would be an active room and one would be a room where they're chilling. Fair. Okay. So they have two rooms each, but they have it divided as per the activities.
[00:27:24] Otherwise, what the children grow up to be is, you know, they are in their zones that they have their own families and they have their own groups and they have their own peers. Yes. And as siblings, they don't bond. Fair. And that helps in the whole family structure, family relationships, next generation. That's very good. Yes. Fair. Binduji, we've discussed that you can't always get or rarely get the perfect vastu established house. So corrections have to be made. Absolutely.
[00:27:54] Can these corrections be made without huge changes, without breaking walls? Yeah. So in Mumbai, we have this limitation. In fact, in all cosmopolitan cities, we have this limitation. When we go further into open spaces, they create their bungalows. So we get a lot of openness and freedom to do what we want. But in closed places, especially in flats, in our building in Mumbai, we get stuck here. So what we can do is we can do treatments. How do we do treatments?
[00:28:24] We can do the treatment under the flooring. That is before the flooring comes in. So when I go to see someone's house, we tell them, please call us. That these are the recommendations. This is something in the center. This is at your entrance. This is in the kitchen. This is in the bedroom and so on. But when the houses are already made, because nowadays builders create it and send. So we tell them, take permission to remove one center tile or one corner tile. Or one tile in the kitchen. If that is good enough, great.
[00:28:53] Besides that, if it's still not possible, then we give you something ready. We give you yantras. So we place it in the cabinets. We place them under your bed. We place them behind the mirrors, behind the TV, behind the furniture. We hide it and camouflage it. And rental houses, frankly speaking, we can only do this. You can only do absolutely yantras, ready-made things. You can put a swastik. You can put a lot of other remedies. Some of them are visible. Some of them are not. But we can do that.
[00:29:22] We can't touch the flooring. So that's a limitation that we have. But it's a solution. 100%. There you go. And there is a problem. Our ECG goes up and down. It doesn't go straight line means we are no more. This is true. So if we are going up and down, that means we have problems. If you have a problem, you must say, thank you God, I'm alive. I always talk like this. You have a problem. Wow, great, you're living. Because that is the rule of life. I love the positive perspective on this.
[00:29:52] But that is the truth, sir. It is. It is. And if you have a problem, you have a solution. Fair. It goes well. I want to ask you from a black and white point of view. Yeah. Should one stretch their budget for a better vastu home? Yes. Why? Because they will make that much more money in that house. Ah. Okay. So what generally people do when they are choosing a house, whether it is rental or their own, they come up with four or five plans. They run it through me.
[00:30:21] And they ask us which is the best. So we shortlist one or maybe two. And then we go there for a personal visit. Ah. Sometimes we do it on a flow plan. Because we don't need to go to every... And then when we personally go, we know the differences. We know a pillar is coming in the middle. Or there is something, something, something. Some direction, some angles. We study that and then we zero on a one flat. Okay. So that's the ideal way. Ideal way is have a selection and then the expert decides which one works best. Which one is best for you. Okay. And based on what is your requirement.
[00:30:51] Okay. So if, for example, you want to take an east opening house. So east is a timetable house. Timetable house means just like the sun rises in the east, it rises at a particular time. And sets at a particular time. Okay. So those people who are in a corporate world, or we have teachers, or we have any professionals, they have a timetable routine. So that house will favor them. Okay. Okay. Okay. Now there are some people who are in logistics. There are people who are traveling. They're traveling all over the world. So we give them a west or a northwest house. Okay.
[00:31:20] Because that is why you couldn't. It is movement house. I see. So it will help them as per their profile. Understood. So it's never a one-size fits all. No, no. You can never have one-size like that. Okay. Definitely. Sure. I want to look at this from a slightly different perspective. Houses are not individually built more and more. I mean, sure you have a plot of land and you build on it. You can cater to the structure from ground up. Now we're talking mostly about builder-designed homes. Right.
[00:31:50] The vastu over there, how much should you insist on and how much should you let go? Because already it's been made. Yes. Yes. So that's why we work with the builders from the very beginning. They call us when the plot of land is there. We give them the basements, the underground, the UG, that is the underground water, the entrance, exit, lifts, pillars. We give them the bathroom positions. We give them the electric positions. We give them the sky rise height.
[00:32:16] So how many staircase numbers, when to go down, where to go, car park, lift, everything we give them from the beginning. And that's a perfect way to work. And today's builders actually work with vastu. I work with a lot of builders. Where we start to finish from the name, from the plot of land to the time when they're cutting the ribbon and giving the flat. But if it is a flat that is already there, people are witnessing it. They're coming and saying, yes, you should go by your gut feeling.
[00:32:43] You should go with what you feel when you're there. You should just close your eyes for a minute and feel the vibration that you're living in this house. And how do you feel? I would like to give them that one test to each individual who's buying a new house. Besides this, I would like to also tell them to see the house number, the carpet area and the direction. Now, this is where a lot of people make a mistake. And maximum builders say, oh, it's east-west direction. Oh, it's east-west direction. Oh, it's east or west? It's the question.
[00:33:12] But they'll say, east-west. Madam, east-west doesn't happen. Correct. Either east or west. Fair. And people will stand outside the house and say, you know, I'm walking into a north house, wonderful house. I said, no, it's a south entry. No, no, where are you standing? I mean, he's standing outside. You have to stand in your territory. Correct. You have to stand inside your house. You have to leave facing the north. When you're exiting the house, you put your compass on your hand and see the degrees. Yes. It's the small, small details. So people just wonder that, hey, I got this thing.
[00:33:42] It's a north opening. But actually, it's a south opening. Yeah. And then they will cry out, paid up. Then we start the treatments. Okay. So I just recommend that stand inside your house. Stand at the entrance. Hold the compass in your hand and look outside. And when looking outside, you can just see the degrees and the degrees. Mark it and tell us that these are the degrees. And then you make a selection. This brings us to an interesting point.
[00:34:07] What are the most misunderstood concepts of vastu that buyers tend to look at and then unfortunately might have to correct? Yeah. So what happens is, you know, they always will look at the entrance and they also see that there is no bathroom in the northeast. Okay. But that is one part of the house. The second part is the relationship that is southwest. So you never know there's a southwest cut. Southwest cut means relationship issues.
[00:34:35] What is a southwest cut? Southwest is master bedroom placement. So if your house is not a rectangle, it's an L shape. Yes. L shape has one rectangular and one square. Yes. So there is a cut area. Oh. So that cut area indicates that there is relationship issues going to happen in this house. Oh. Or if the southeast is cut, that means health issues will come in this house. Okay. And northeast cut, that means wealth issues will come in the house. Hmm. So then they think, hey, we have taken entrance very well.
[00:35:04] But they have not seen the other parameters. So they must take a look at the kitchen. They must take a look at the entrance. They must look at the master bedroom. And other things we can overlook. Okay. Like a balcony or a bathroom placement, something. But no, no. Again, if choice given, not the bathroom. If given a choice and if you're selecting, definitely don't do that. But if you already have it, then the first thing is treat it. Okay. Fair. Definitely treat it. Yeah.
[00:35:33] What are the most oversold vastu solutions that buyers should actually question? Because it's never one size fits all. Yeah. So what happens is when we do vastu with a builder, one of my recommendations to them is that on the brochures, it is sold that the vastu is done by Dr. Bindu Kurana, numerology and vastu. So they can consult us. So they take us consultancy for east. But what happens is if one house is not opening, the other will be south opening. Yes. Exactly.
[00:36:03] If one is east facing and the other will be west. Yes. So then I will sit down with them and I will say, look, as per your date of birth, you should go for this house, this floor, this number. This person should go for this house. So then we give them and we give them personal consultancy too. So what happens is that whenever they are considering, they should look up the brochures. They should see who the architect is because every architect has a, you know, they have a reputation. Sure.
[00:36:31] So in, in based on that, they know that the walls are done well. You know, like how you say certain builders, oh, they are very well known. And, you know, we, we believe that they've given us very good doors. They've given us very good windows. They've given us very good washing space, bathrooms, because nowadays everything is given in all availabilities there. So then the reputation of the builder is very important. Besides that, they must see the carpet area because sometimes what is written as carpet
[00:36:58] area is actually not the given carpet area. The extra space outside is considered. Or for that matter, you know, they may have a little balcony, which is added. All that they must always consider and see. It's very important to see the right things also. That's true. For individuals or families, what is it that they can do?
[00:37:26] Living style, positive habits to improve the energy of their space, of their home. So not getting into the commercial angle, but just giving them very natural remedies. A. Sunlight should enter your house. Okay. So you should always open your doors and windows in the morning. Early morning sun should enter your house. Your windows should be airy. Okay. You should have open space. Don't have clothes, clothes, clothes throughout the day. AC is on. Yes. Nighttime it's on. Yes.
[00:37:56] Daytime open it up for a couple of times. Then do your swapping in such a way that it is neat and clean. You can add a pinch of salt. You can have a little salt when cleaning. It removes all your negativities. Do not have leaking taps. Ah. Then have good music or bhajan or kirtan or whatever is your religious or even nice now. Great Bollywood music. Because vibrations of the sound are very good. Chanting is very good. Sound therapy is very good. Any form of it. You can have fragrances.
[00:38:25] You can have your agarbattis. You can have all your incense sticks. You can have anything that gives you flavor. So then what happens? The vibrations of the house change with all these. So the five senses are very good. Sound, sight, smell, taste and touch. So you can incorporate these basic habits. That is why during our times, on our olden days, they used to start the day at sunrise. Yes. And they would do things with prayers. So the agarbattis came on.
[00:38:54] The chanting came on. The sound came. The flowers. The fresh flowers. You see? All that added beauty. That is a natural vaastu. We don't have to do it with remedial. We can just do it with a natural vaastu. And that's perfectly fine in all the ways. Clutter. Yeah. What does one do? How much is too much? What is the solution? Because in living spaces, we collect things, but the space is about the same.
[00:39:22] So there is one more thing that has come up is not only clothes clutter or newspapers clutter. We also have electronics clutter now. That is equally bad. Okay. So what we can do is, the worst thing you can do actually is to keep it under the bed. The other affects your sleep. Okay. Yeah. So do away with it. Make it. You mean any type of storage or electronic storage? Both. All. Okay. Yeah. So shoes, old shoes, torn shoes, broken bags, your laptops that are broken or things
[00:39:50] that are broken, tube lights and any negativity things. Don't clutter it. Give it away. Okay. Because energy flows only when it's a clutter-free place. Yes. So remove all negativities. Remove all clothes. In fact, it is said that if for six months you haven't worn a particular dress, give it away. Fair. Only then a new one will come. But before buying a new one, give away five and get in about five more. Fair. And give it around to your own people, your own staff, your liftmen, watchmen and people around you, you can give that.
[00:40:20] But clutter-free is where the energy flows. Fair. And not under your bed, not under your study tables, not under your cabinets, especially tijori zone and all. Do not keep any clutter. Okay. Even newspapers collecting is a clutter. And some people have seen, they have the habit of collecting these plastic bags for what reason? I don't know. But then there are a lot of people who collect these good bags and they keep it under bed and then they remove it one fine day. No, no. It's all this clutter. It's all clutter. Just do away with it. Absolutely. I'm guilty of one or two of those things.
[00:40:52] Nice of you too. Binduji, does Vastu work as a universal principle or is it different for different people? Does it work on an individual level more than a universal level? See, universal level, 100% it will come. Like for example, we always say Bombayites are fast thinking movement. It's an energy. We'll say, Delhi side people are too much into food. Okay. You go to Amrit sir, we all eat so much that we don't eat so much in life.
[00:41:21] So, the energy changes. You go to Goa and suddenly you're lethargic. Yes. I mean, that's the energy of Goa. So, it is universal. I'm just talking of India today. But when you go international, you will see that there are, you know, you become like that. Each city has its own vibe. Absolutely. It is very true that each city, town, country, continent has its own energy. And you become like that because we have to blend in. Yes. So, it is universal, definitely. But why start with something?
[00:41:50] It always starts with meh. I, me, myself. Yeah. Okay. So, everything starts with me. If I'm good, I'm truthful, I'm honest, I'm true to my family, I'm true to my peers, I'm true to my staff, I'm true to my clients, I'm true to my office, I'm true to my city, town, country. And then, of course, you're true because it starts with the epiphon or the central, which we call in Hindi, is always I, me, myself. So, how you are, you vibrate. Yes.
[00:42:19] The energy vibrates from within. Fair. So, if I'm a happy person, I'll give you happiness. If I'm a knowledgeable person, I'll give you knowledge. If I'm a sad person, I'll give you sadness. Fair. If I'm an angry person, I'll make you angry. So, it starts with within. So, the perimeter moves in that direction that you are. So, the energy will always move clockwise. And yes, it will move from within. And that's how it vibrates. Okay. Fair. And then it is an individual thing, but it feeds into the universe. Absolutely. It's all, we are all interconnected.
[00:42:49] Absolutely. In metro cities, is it always possible to choose vastu over affordability? Or at some point, will I have to give up on either vastu or affordability? I have seen a lot of people compromising on vastu because it is pocket friendly. Yes. Or they say, madam, you treat it. You do it. You do it. You do it. But this is fitting in my budget. I don't have to take a loan.
[00:43:18] Or for that matter, this is what I can afford. So, I don't mind you treat it. So, then we walk in. We always help them, guide them. Because there are people who will compromise on vastu. And also, I have met people who will not compromise on vastu. Irrespective of what. So, smaller place or more budget, but they will not compromise on vastu. It's a personal choice. It's always a personal choice. Okay. Like, I know of people who have left beautiful houses just because it is not vastu compliant. Understood. So, personal choice here.
[00:43:48] I want to come to mirrors. Yes. Mirror in the bedroom. Mirror anywhere in the house. How important is it? And how important is it for it to not be there in certain places? Yeah. So, mirrors indicate multiplication. It's a reflection. It reflects whatever it shows. So, in a bathroom, it reflects your... So, in a bathroom, it should be on the north or on the east. Okay. Because when you get up, first thing you see is yourself in the mirror.
[00:44:14] And that's the time you start to say, oh, I'm fat and I'm great and I'm this and I'm that. I'm bald. So, you start evaluating yourself. Okay. Besides that, whenever in the bedroom, do not have the reflection. Because mirrors hold your aura. Okay. So, when you get up in the night and you get up with a spa. So, don't keep... A mirror should never have a reflection on the bed. And you start getting some pains and aches. And I've seen it multiple times. Okay.
[00:44:41] Try to have a mirror on the north or east wall, which is a perfect. If it's not possible because of the interiors of the way, try and have it on the west wall, but never on the south wall. Okay. But if it's on the west, also try to have it in a cabinet. So, it is shut when it's not in use. Okay. You can do that. Then there's an alternative how you can manage. That's literally the solution. Absolutely. It's on the door of a cabinet. You want the mirror, open the door. Yeah. Sometimes you see at the entrance, people have a mirror because they want to check themselves before leaving. So, try to have it again on the north wall or east wall.
[00:45:11] So, that's okay to do. That's okay. Just be careful which wall. Yeah. Which wall it is. Okay. Okay. Okay. So, try to have mirrors and the cabinet have already explained, especially in the Tejori zone, how to do it. Yes. And try to have mirrors which are straight mirrors. So, don't have the cracked image. Don't have the shiny. You know, like some living rooms will have mirror effect on the walls. Okay. Which are broken, shattered. Yes.
[00:45:41] They have some crystals on it which give an effect of a broken image. Don't do that. So, either proper mirror or none at all. Yeah. That's true. Yeah. Okay. That's right. Paints, colors, cleanliness. How does that impact Vastu? Or the living space of the house? So, paints have an energy. The colors have an energy. Each color will reflect something. So, today if you're wearing red, you'll be in a very good energy. If you're feeling hyper, wear white. Okay. Okay. And there are some energies that are very neutral.
[00:46:11] So, colors have a very important. So, for the north direction, we give you white or we give you green. So, green, you don't have to have a green wall. You can have a planter. You can have a white paint or a designer and you can have a green plant kept. Okay. On the west, we give you a blue. Blue or a gray. On the south, we give you a red or a maroon. And on the east, we give you a yellow or orange. So, these are the colors. And that doesn't mean that you have to have four colors on the wall. But does that also not mean that the whole wall has to be that color? It can be an item.
[00:46:41] No, you can have an accessory. Ah, okay. You can just have an article. You can keep something to show that that color has been used on that wall. Understood. Yeah. And in the children's room or in your master bedroom, master bedroom tends to have darker colors. I see. Also, take the date of birth of your husband and wife and give them one-one article. Suppose if the wife is five numbers, so green, and the husband is eight numbers, so he's blue. So, take an article of blue and green and put it in the master bedroom. Okay.
[00:47:10] So, try to imbibe their personal good color also of the child or of the senior parent or of the in-laws or of the couple, whatever it is. And try to. Mandirs can be lightest colors because they're always in the north-nought east. You can have your white. You can have your pure white. You can have your marbles. You can have your golden or silver effects. And lighter the… Okay. And brighter is always better. Lighter and brighter for the prayer area. Prayer area it is. Absolutely. Yeah. Binduji, let me focus on commercial space. Right.
[00:47:38] Three important vastu points that one should look at when we're looking at commercial, office, retail, what would those be? First one would be the entry. Okay. Because we need good clients to come in or we need customers or whatever the space is. Second would be the sitting position of the staff. They should face north or they should face east. And third I would say is whatever your brand is or your company name is, never write it small. Write it large and it should always go upwards. Oh. So that is growth. Okay.
[00:48:06] So your brand or your company name goes upwards at the entrance so that whoever walks in sees that and they know what business you're doing with them and when and how. Fair. And entrance for a commercial establishment follows the same rules as a residential… Almost the same. Okay. But I think, you know, depends. Like if it's a logistics, I would say west or northwest. If it's a study zone, I would say like it's a school or an education department or academy, I would say northeast. Restaurants, I would never say northeast.
[00:48:34] I would say, you know, either east or southeast or northwest. If it's a bar, northwest will do wonderful. Okay. If it's a OTP or it's a South Indian restaurants, they do wonderfully well with the south entrance. I see. Yeah. So depends on the profile of what the commercial is. Or in that case, they should take their personal good number based on their, you know, date of birth. Right. Okay. So one number people should have east. I see. Two should have northwest. Three should have northeast. Four should have southwest.
[00:49:04] Five should have north. Six should have southeast. Seven should have again northwest. Eight should have west. And the ninth one should have south. Fair enough. Binduji, as we come towards the end of our conversation, I want to wrap it with a rapid fire, as it were. Okay. So if you'll allow me, I'll ask you eight, ten questions. Okay. Please shoot. Yeah. Kitchen in the north. Yes or no? No. Okay. Plants inside the home. Good or bad for Vastu? Some of them are very good.
[00:49:34] Like you should keep a snake plant. You should keep your smaller plants of a money plant you can use. You can keep your tulsi at the periphery or external. You can keep rubber plants in the south. So depends on the plant. Okay. Whichever it is. Okay. Mirrors in the bedroom, yes or no? But not facing the bed. Okay. Work task faces which direction? North or east. Now, what is more important? Direction or layout?
[00:50:05] Directions. Okay. Now, Vastu for rented homes, is it relevant or should we ignore? It is relevant and we try to do maximum what we can. Now, perfect Vastu home, is that a myth or is it achievable? It's a hundred percent myth. Okay. And one Vastu tip every first time buyer must remember. So again, we go back to the three points. It's not one tip. It would be house number, entrance. It would be master bedroom and it would be kitchen.
[00:50:34] These three. If you have health, you have a good relation and you have some wealth, you're sorted. The others will all flow. Binduji, thank you so much for this. It was incredibly enlightening. Uplifting in some way. Thank you. There was a lot to have learned and I'm glad we had this conversation. Thank you so much for your wisdom and knowledge. Thank you and God bless you. Thank you and happy Vastu to all who are seeing this program. Thank you. Thank you very much.
