[00:00:00] Welcome to another episode of Happiness Painting Podcast.

[00:00:09] Today we are diving deep into the unexpected topic how painting can actually help IT professionals

[00:00:17] to process their emotions.

[00:00:19] Yes, you heard it right.

[00:00:21] We often associate painting with creativity and expression.

[00:00:26] But its therapeutic benefits extend far beyond the canvas.

[00:00:31] So grab your brushes and lets explore the colorful world of emotional processing through painting.

[00:00:38] As an IT professional we are constantly navigating the fast paced and often stressful environment.

[00:00:47] From tight deadlines to complex problem solving, its easy to feel overwhelmed.

[00:00:55] But here where painting comes in.

[00:00:58] It provides a unique outlet for us to channel our emotions and decompress after a long day of coding or the troubleshooting.

[00:01:08] Now you might be wondering how exactly does the painting helps us.

[00:01:13] Well, for the starter it allows us to step away from the screen and immerse ourselves into magical experience or magical world of the painting.

[00:01:27] The act of applying paint to the canvas engages different parts of our brain and promoting relaxation and mindfulness.

[00:01:37] Painting also encourages us to tap into our emotions without judgment.

[00:01:44] In the IT world we are often focused on the logic and problem solving.

[00:01:51] But emotions play a crucial role in our overall well being.

[00:01:56] By expressing ourselves through art we give a voice to our feelings and gain a deeper understanding of our inner world.

[00:02:06] With this I am able to recall my one of the incident where I exactly felt emotionally numb.

[00:02:15] And I was not able to exactly process my emotions because I was on my over screen for more than 14 to 15 hours.

[00:02:25] Now let's talk about some practical tips and the best practices for incorporating painting into your emotional processing routine.

[00:02:36] First off let's aside some dedicated time for your painting session.

[00:02:42] Treat it like any other important task on your schedule and prioritize self care.

[00:02:48] Next create a comfortable and inspiring space for your art practice.

[00:02:54] Whether it's a corner of your living room or the corner of your office or if you are too interested you can turn any vacant room into the studio.

[00:03:08] Make sure it's a place where you feel safe to explore your emotions freely.

[00:03:13] You can decorate that space with the inspirational quotes or your favorite books or your favorite music and also your favorite light or candles and then plants if you are interested.

[00:03:30] Take one or two elements and you can decorate that space.

[00:03:35] Another tip is you can always keep your art kit handy.

[00:03:40] Do not keep it in very cluttered way.

[00:03:44] Keep it handy so that whenever you feel overwhelmed you can just take it because it will be easy to grab that.

[00:03:52] Now my most important tip is always start small.

[00:03:59] When you start small, start with the 10 minutes, 5 minutes and then gradually you take it to the 30 minutes, 40 minutes etc.

[00:04:08] You don't need to be a next Picasso or the Winsett Van Gogh although you can envision that when you are interested in your painting skills.

[00:04:17] But start small and take towards your envisioning.

[00:04:21] Simply allow yourself to play and discover what resonates with you.

[00:04:27] And finally don't be afraid to seek support from your mentors or your fellow IT professionals who are interested in the painting.

[00:04:38] I am giving you, I am offering you the environment to join my happiness painting club and you can join my next live sessions and my webinars, workshops and you can connect with the like minded individuals.

[00:04:53] Or simply you can connect with me if you are facing any specific problem.

[00:04:58] As we wrap up today's episode, I want to leave you with a reminder that processing emotions is an ongoing journey.

[00:05:11] It's okay to have good days or the bad days.

[00:05:15] But what is important? Important is that you are actively engaging in the self care practices that nurture your mental and emotional well being.

[00:05:27] And speaking of the self care, I am really excited to announce my upcoming webinar on unlocking your emotional healing for the IT professionals.
