[00:00:00] Today in the episode 1, we shall delve with the topic of growth mindset for MSME entrepreneurs.
[00:00:06] Let me start with the importance of growth mindset for MSME entrepreneurs.
[00:00:11] The top 4 which come to mind are, Number 1 is Enhanced Resilience.
[00:00:16] MSME entrepreneurs face numerous challenges and a growth mindset equates them with the
[00:00:22] resilience needed to bounce back from setbacks.
[00:00:26] Number 2 is Continuous Learning.
[00:00:29] Impressing a growth mindset encourages entrepreneurs to see failures as opportunities for learning
[00:00:34] and improvement, first starting a culture of continuous learning within their businesses.
[00:00:40] Number 3 is Innovation and Adaptability.
[00:00:45] Entrepreneurs with a growth mindset are more likely to innovate and adapt to changing
[00:00:50] market conditions leading to sustainable business growth.
[00:00:55] Finally Number 4 is Optimism and Persistence.
[00:00:59] A growth mindset fosters optimism and persistence, enabling entrepreneurs to persevere through
[00:01:06] obstacles and setbacks on their path to success.
[00:01:10] Now what we mean by growth mindset?
[00:01:13] A growth mindset coined by psychologist Carol Dweck is the belief that abilities
[00:01:18] and intelligence can be developed through dedication, effort and hard work.
[00:01:24] Individuals with a growth mindset embrace challenges, view failure as an opportunity
[00:01:29] to learn and persist in the face of setbacks.
[00:01:32] There is of course stark difference between growth and fixed mindset.
[00:01:38] Individuals with a growth mindset believe that their abilities can be developed through
[00:01:42] dedication and effort.
[00:01:44] They see challenges as opportunities for growth, embrace failure as a stepping stone to
[00:01:50] success and are inspired by the success of others.
[00:01:54] In sharp contrast, individuals with a fixed mindset believe that their abilities are in
[00:02:00] net and unchangeable.
[00:02:02] They avoid challenges for peer of failure, view failure as a reflection of their abilities
[00:02:08] and feel threatened by the success of others.
[00:02:11] Now I am tempted to share few real life examples of successful entrepreneurs of India
[00:02:18] with a growth mindset.
[00:02:20] As human beings, you always get motivated and inspired by the success of others and
[00:02:26] try your best to make them a role model for success.
[00:02:30] While coming to growth mindset right now, the top three which are coming to my mind
[00:02:35] are the studies of Dhirubhai Ambani, Kiran Majumdar Shah and Ritesh Agarwal.
[00:02:41] Who doesn't know Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of Reliance Industries?
[00:02:45] I believe all of us know that Dhirubhai Ambani started his journey with humble beginnings
[00:02:51] and transformed Reliance into one of India's largest conglomerates.
[00:02:55] His relentless pursuit of growth and innovation coupled with his ability to overcome challenges
[00:03:01] showcases a strong growth mindset.
[00:03:04] I think his elder son Mukesh Ambani is no different and he is carrying his father's
[00:03:09] legacy.
[00:03:10] Next in my list is Kiran Majumdar Shah.
[00:03:13] As the founder of Biocall Ltd, Kiran Majumdar Shah revolutionized the biotechnology
[00:03:19] industry in India.
[00:03:20] Despite facing numerous obstacles and skepticism in a male dominated field, she persevered
[00:03:27] and built Bicon into a global leader in biopharmaceuticals demonstrating a resilient
[00:03:33] growth mindset.
[00:03:34] Third in my list is Ritesh Agarwal.
[00:03:37] Ritesh is the founder and CEO of Oyo Rooms who started his entrepreneurial journey at
[00:03:43] young age.
[00:03:44] Despite facing initial setback and failure, he persisted in pursuing his vision of transforming
[00:03:50] the hospitality industry in India.
[00:03:53] His ability to adapt, learn from failures and continuously innovate reflects a growth
[00:03:58] mindset that has propelled Oyo to remarkable success.
[00:04:02] I would like to end today's podcast just by citing another top 3 global visionaries who
[00:04:08] are perfect examples of growth mindset.
[00:04:12] First in my list is Jeb Bezos of Amazon.
[00:04:14] We all know Bezos started Amazon as an online big store and transformed it into one of the
[00:04:19] world's largest e-commerce platforms through continuous innovation, a relentless focus
[00:04:25] on customer satisfaction driven by his growth mindset.
[00:04:29] Next is Elon Musk of Tesla, SpaceX and of course Twitter which is renamed by him as X.
[00:04:37] Musk's ventures including Tesla and SpaceX exemplify a growth mindset through their disruptive
[00:04:43] innovations in electric vehicles, renewable energy and space exploration.
[00:04:49] And finally Sara Blickley of Spanx.
[00:04:53] Blickley turned a bigger $5000 investment into a billion dollar shape where he inspired
[00:04:59] by embracing failure as a learning opportunity and parisviating despite numerous rejections.
