[00:00:20] Trinamool Congress MP Jawahar Sarkar resigned from his parliamentary post in protest of the
[00:00:26] Bengal government's handling of the rape and murder of a trained doctor at a Kolkata
[00:00:30] hospital and all that ensured in its week.
[00:00:33] National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will visit Moscow this week to discuss the Russia-Ukraine
[00:00:39] This follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent meetings with Presidents Vladimir Putin
[00:00:43] and Volodymyr Zelensky during his trip to Russia and Ukraine.
[00:00:47] Tamil actor Vijay Spatti, Tamaragavetri Karagam received recognition from the Election Commission
[00:00:53] of India, the actor announced.
[00:00:55] Vijay said his party was now battled ready and would contest the 2026 Assembly elections
[00:01:00] in Tamil Nadu.
[00:01:02] The death toll in the building collapse in Lucknow climbed to eight as rescuers pulled
[00:01:07] out three more bodies from the debris.

[00:01:21] TMC MP Jawahar Sarkar on Sunday wrote to West Bengal CM Mamta Banuji, the chief of
[00:01:26] his party and said he has decided to quit Rajzapa and leave politics altogether,
[00:01:32] describing the steps taken by the state government in handling the rape and murder
[00:01:35] of the doctor at Arjikar Hospital too little and quite late.
[00:01:39] In the letter, Sarkar said he became increasingly disillusioned with the state government and
[00:01:45] it seemed quite unconcerned about the corruption and strong armed tactics of a section of
[00:01:49] leaders.
[00:01:50] Terming the protests over the doctors' deaths spontaneous, the retired IAS officer said
[00:01:55] he had not seen such angst and totaled no confidence against the government even
[00:01:59] when it was saying things that were correct or factual.
[00:02:03] National security adviser Ajith Doval will travel to Moscow this week to discuss the
[00:02:07] Russia-Ukrain conflict according to sources.
[00:02:10] This visit comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's trips to Russia in July and Ukraine
[00:02:15] in August, where he met with Presidents Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky.
[00:02:19] Following his meeting with President Zelensky, Prime Minister Modi spoke with President
[00:02:23] Putin by phone on August 27.
[00:02:26] The Russian embassy stated that Modi informed Putin about his visit to Kiev and emphasised
[00:02:30] India's commitment to resolving the conflict through political and diplomatic means.
[00:02:35] The travel to Moscow this week is also said to be a bit to reach a peaceful resolution
[00:02:40] between the warring neighbours Russia and Ukraine.
[00:02:43] Other world leaders too believe that India can play a key role in resolving the Ukraine
[00:02:47] conflict.
[00:02:49] Tamil superstar Vijay said his party Tamaragavitri Karagam has received recognition from
[00:02:54] the election commission of India.
[00:02:56] The actor announced that his party was now battled ready and would contest the 1026
[00:03:00] assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
[00:03:02] It may be recalled that Vijay had announced his party in February 10, and that said TVK
[00:03:08] would not contest the 1024 Lok Sabha polls and that the party aimed to contest the
[00:03:13] 1026 assembly elections from Tamil Nadu.
[00:03:16] Vijay then said that his fan club Vijay Makal Iyagam has been working for the
[00:03:20] welfare of the people for many years but cannot bring full-fledged social, economic
[00:03:24] and political reforms on its own and for that political power is required.
[00:03:29] The death toll in the building collapse in Lucknow has climbed to eight with rescuers pulling
[00:03:33] out three more bodies from the debris of what is said on Sunday.
[00:03:37] Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Lok Bandu Hospital after returning from
[00:03:42] Ambedkar Nagar to meet those injured in the incident, director of information
[00:03:45] Shishir said.
[00:03:47] Joint commission of police Amit Verma said there is a minimum possibility of someone
[00:03:51] still being trapped inside.
[00:03:53] A three-story building housing go downs and a motor workshop collapsed in the
[00:03:57] transport nagar on Saturday, leaving 28 people injured.
[00:04:01] Five bodies were recovered from the spot.
[00:04:04] Three Lebanese paramedics were killed and two others were wounded, one critically
[00:04:08] in an Israeli attack while they were putting out fires in the southern town
[00:04:11] of Harun, Lebanon's health ministry said on Saturday.
[00:04:15] The ministry stated that Israeli forces targeted a Lebanese civil defence team
[00:04:18] as they responded to fires caused by early Israeli airstrikes.
[00:04:22] The attack hit a fire truck.
[00:04:24] Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mutaki condemned the attack as violating
[00:04:27] international law and announced an emergency meeting with Western ambassadors
[00:04:30] and international organisation on Monday to address the ongoing hostilities.
[00:04:35] The health ministry also condemned the attack as a blatant strike
[00:04:38] on an official Lebanese state apparatus, marking the second such attack
[00:04:42] on an emergency team in less than 12 hours.
