[00:00:20] The Andhra Pradesh government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh each for the families of the six devotees who died in a stampede in Tirupati.
[00:00:30] Nearly 40 others were injured in the incident as devotees rushed for tickets to the Vaikunda Dwaradarshanam at the Lord Venkateshwaraswami temple on Wednesday.
[00:00:39] The stampede happened just before the 10-day event starting January 10, attracting hundreds of pilgrims.
[00:00:46] State Revenue Minister A Satya Prasad expressed condolences stating that while life cannot be replaced, the ex-gratia is intended to support the victims' families.
[00:00:58] Massive wildfires have been raging through Los Angeles since Tuesday, with more than 1 lakh people evacuated as flames spread uncontrollably across the city.
[00:01:09] At least five people have died and numerous homes including those of celebrities have been destroyed.
[00:01:15] The fires, fuelled by dry hurricane-forced winds, have impacted some of the most iconic locations in Hollywood,
[00:01:21] including the Sunset fire in the Hollywood Hills and the Palisades fire that consumed thousands of acres.

[00:01:32] Many residents have sought refuge in temporary shelters where volunteers and food vendors are helping evacuees.
[00:01:41] President Joe Biden is set to introduce new sanctions targeting Russia's economy this week as part of efforts to strengthen Ukraine's position in its ongoing war against Russia before Donald Trump takes office.
[00:01:55] The US is also preparing $500 million in military aid for Ukraine, including air-defense missiles, munitions for F-16 fighter jets and support equipment.
[00:02:06] With Trump's inauguration approaching on January 20, there are growing concerns in Kyiv about the potential for a quick peace deal that could cede large parts of Ukraine to Russia.
[00:02:18] Trump's advisors have proposed solutions that could seize significant territorial concessions to Russia.
[00:02:24] In response, Biden's team aims to bolster Ukraine's military strength to provide leverage in any future negotiations with Russia.
[00:02:34] U.S., Arab and Egyptian mediators have made progress toward a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza,
[00:02:42] but a deal has not yet been reached, according to Palestinian sources.
[00:02:47] As negotiations continue in Qatar, Israeli airstrikes across Gaza killed at least 17 people on Thursday.
[00:02:53] The efforts to end the 15-month conflict and secure the release of hostages held by Hamas are intensifying,
[00:03:01] with President Joe Biden's administration aiming for a deal before leaving office.
[00:03:06] In a surprising turn of events, the parents of the young girls in the Walaya rape case were named as accused in the CBI charge sheet submitted to the Ernagulam CBI court.
[00:03:17] They face charges of abetment to rape under Section 109 of the Indian Penal Court.
[00:03:23] Manorama News reported that the CBI included the couple as accused for not disclosing the details of the abuse to the police on time.
[00:03:31] Last year, the Kerala High Court ordered the transfer of the Walaya case in which two minor sisters were found dead in their home in 2017
[00:03:40] after allegedly being sexually assaulted from the Palakad Poxo court to the CBI designated court in Ernagulam.
[00:03:47] The order was passed in response to a petition filed by the CBI seeking to move the trial from the Special Court for Poxo cases in Palakad to the Ernagulam CBI court.
