[00:00:19] Cyclone Dana spared Odisha and West Bengal of any severe damage to infrastructure while flight and rail operations resumed on Friday after the cyclonic storm completed landfall, triggering heavy rains and uprooting of trees and electric poles.

[00:00:34] The Supreme Court dismissed a CBI plea challenging a Bombay High Court order that quashed the lookout circulars issued against actor Rhea Chakraborty and a family in the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

[00:00:47] Over 25 domestic and international flights operated by Indian carriers received bomb threats on Friday, according to sources.

[00:01:11] Cyclone Dana spared Odisha and West Bengal of any severe damage to infrastructure while flight and rail operations resumed on Friday after the cyclonic storm completed landfall, triggering heavy rains and uprooting of trees and electric poles.

[00:01:24] Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charanmarjee asserted that no fatality report has been received so far and the state achieved its zero casualty mission, while West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said one person died due to the natural calamity.

[00:01:36] The severe cyclonic storm Dana completed its landfall around 8.30 am on Friday and the system took at least eight and a half hours to enter the landmass, the IMD said.

[00:01:46] The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a central period of investigation plea challenging a Bombay High Court order that quashed the lookout circles issued against Dr. Diyah Chakraborty and her family in the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

[00:01:58] A bench comprising Justices B.R. Gawai and K.V. Vishanathan termed the plea of probe agency as frivolous while trashing it.

[00:02:06] The Bombay High Court had on February 22nd quashed the lookout circles issued against Chakraborty and her brothers Shavik and their parents Indrajit and Sandhya.

[00:02:14] The lookout circles were issued against them in 2020. Rajput was found dead in his apartment in suburban Bandra on June 14, 2020.

[00:02:23] While the Mumbai Police registered an accidental death report and started a probe into the case, Rajput's father had in July 2020 lodged a complaint with the Bihar police alleging the actor's purported girlfriend Chakraborty and her family members had admitted his suicide.

[00:02:38] The case was later transferred to the CBI which has been investigating it.

[00:02:43] More than 25 domestic and international flights operated by Indian carriers received bomb threats on Friday according to sources.

[00:02:49] Around 7 flights each of Indigo, Vistara and Spicejet got the threats while 6 flights of Air India received the threats.

[00:02:56] In 12 days, more than 275 flights operated by the Indian carriers have received bomb threats. Most of the threats were issued through social media.

[00:03:04] The government has asked social media platforms Meta and X to share data about hoax, bomb threat messages to airlines and has started identifying those behind such activities.

[00:03:14] Israeli military strikes in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Yunus killed at least 38 people since Thursday night and Israeli forces launched a nighttime raid on a hospital in the north, Palestinian officials said.

[00:03:25] The Gaza Health Ministry said many of the casualties from the Israeli strikes on houses in southeast Khan Yunus were women and children.

[00:03:31] The Israeli military said in a statement, forces killed a number of Palestinian gunmen in air and ground strikes in the southern Gaza Strip and dismantled military infrastructure.

[00:03:40] Israel says its forces returned to northern Gaza as Palestinian militant Hamas fighters had regrouped there.

[00:03:46] The escalation came as the United States pushed for a new effort to reach a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas that would end the war and see the release of Israeli and foreign hostages held captive in Gaza, as well as many Palestinians jailed by Israel.

[00:04:00] Meanwhile, an Israeli strike killed at least three journalists and wounded several others as they slept in guest houses in southern Lebanon on Friday, Lebanon's health ministry said in what Beirut declared a war crime.

[00:04:10] U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said there was an urgency to get a diplomatic resolution to the conflict in Lebanon, a day after he said Washington did not want to see a protracted campaign there by its ally Israel.

[00:04:23] As heavy rains continued to last several parts of Kerala since Friday morning, disrupting normal life by causing motor logging of roads and traffic jams, the India Meteorological Department sounded an orange alert in Thiruvananthavaram, Koteam, Ernakulam, Idki, Trishur, Patramdhita, Kullam and Alapura districts.

[00:04:39] The weather department predicts very heavy to heavy rainfall till October 27 in the state due to cyclonic circulations over the Arabian Sea near the southern Kerala coast.
