[00:00:18] South Korea's opposition-led parliament impeached President Yoon Se-kyol on Saturday, voting to suspend him from official duties over his short-lived attempt last week to impose martial law.

[00:00:29] Under the constitution, Prime Minister Han Duk-su, who was appointed by Yoon, became acting president.

[00:00:34] Yoon is the second conservative president in a road to be impeached in South Korea.

[00:00:39] The motion was carried after some members of Yoon's People Party joined the opposition parties, which control 192 seats in the 300-member National Assembly.

[00:00:50] Haryana security personnel fired tear gas shells and used a water cannon to disperse a group of protesting farmers from heading towards Delhi at the Shambhu border point on Saturday.

[00:00:59] A few farmers were injured and taken to a nearby hospital in ambulance stationed at the protest site, officials said.

[00:01:04] The action came after a jada of 101 farmers, who resumed their foot march to Delhi shortly after 12 noon on Saturday from the Shambhu Pratish site on the Punjab-Haryana border, reached the barricades put up by the Haryana security personnel.

[00:01:17] The farmers are pressing the centre for various demands, including a legal guarantee of minimum support price for crops.

[00:01:24] Senior Congress leader and former union minister, EVKS Ellen Govan died due to age-related ailments at a private hospital in Chennai on Saturday. He was 75.

[00:01:33] Ellen Govan served as Union Minister of State for Petroleum later as Minister of State for Industries and Commerce and Minister of Trade for Textiles.

[00:01:40] He was instrumental in abolishing the central value-added tax. He was the grand-nephew of Peria Ramaswamy. His mortal remains will be cremated at Mughal-i-Vakkam on Sunday around 4pm.

[00:01:52] Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, cited RSS Ideologue VD Savarkar's remarks that there was nothing Indian about the constitution and took a jai with the BJP, saying that by talking of protecting the constitution, the ruling party was ridiculing Savarkar.

[00:02:05] Participating in a debate on 75 years of the adoption of the constitution, the congress leader said Savarkar preferred Hindu religious texts, Manasmradi, to the constitution.

[00:02:13] He said a battle was taking place in India and recited the story of Ek Lavia, who had sacrificed his thumb as a tribute to Guru Dronacharya.

[00:02:21] He said when Dharavi is given to Adani, the small and medium businesses there lose their thumbs.

[00:02:27] After the centre rejected the Kerala government's plea to reconsider its decision requiring the state to repay the Viability Gap Fund for the Viraniam Seaport project and installment.

[00:02:42] In his open letter, the Chief Minister alleged that the Viraniam International Seaport project would be the only case in the country where the government of India has demanded repayment of the Viability Gap funding assistance provided.
