Pune Police on Friday arrested accused Dattatre Gade for raping a 26-year-old woman inside a bus at Swargate Depot. He was detained around midnight from Shirur Tehzil. The accused is named in half a dozen theft, robbery and chain-snatching cases in the Pune and Ahilinagar districts.

[00:00:38] He has been out on bail since 2019 for one of the offences. 13 police teams were deployed at various locations around the state to nab the accused. The cops had also deployed sniffer dogs and drones as part of a search operation within the tracks of sugarcane crops located in Shirur Tehzil in Pune on Thursday.

[00:00:59] Indian stock markets nosedived on Friday, tracking a significant downturn in global markets after US President Donald Trump announced an additional 10% tariff on Chinese imports, triggering panic among investors. The sharp fall occurred amidst widespread selling before crucial GDP data release. Persistent foreign fund outflows further dampened market sentiment.

[00:01:22] The 30-share BSE Sensex ended the day at 73,198.10, down 1,414 points or 1.90%. Nifty 50 ended at 22,124.70, down 420 points or 1.86%.

[00:01:43] The collective market value of BSE-listed firms reduced by Rs. 8.9 lakh crore, settling at Rs. 384.22 lakh crore. 57 labourers of the Border Roads Organisation were trapped under an avalanche near the border village of Mana in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district on Friday, officials said. According to Chamoli district magistrate Sandeep Tiwari, the avalanche buried a BRO camp between Mana and Badrinad.

[00:02:12] The labourers were engaged in road construction work when the snow mass struck. Mana, the last Indian village near the India-Tibet border, is situated at an altitude of 3,200 metres. Rescue operations are currently underway, with 16 workers successfully pulled out so far. Heavy snowfall continues in the area, making the rescue efforts challenging. Young professionals in Kerala's IT and media sectors are experiencing high levels of work stress,

[00:02:41] according to a survey conducted by the State Youth Commission. The study found that 84.3% of IT employees and 83.5% of media professionals reported significant work-related stress. The survey also revealed that employees in banking and insurance and gig economy workers face considerable stress. In contrast, those working in the retail and industrial sectors reported lower stress levels.

[00:03:09] Heavy snowfall and rains in Himachal Pradesh triggered landslides and blocked key roads and national highways on Friday, throwing normal life out of gear in many areas. Intermittent heavy snowfall and rains for the third day have blocked highways. About 200 roads have been closed across the state, cutting off several areas in Kulu, Lahoul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Chamba and Shimla districts from the rest of the state.

[00:03:36] Officials said all educational institutions, including colleges, have been closed in Chamba and Manali. However, the CBC board examinations would be held as scheduled.
