[00:00:31] A plea was filed in the Bangladesh High Court on Wednesday seeking a ban on the ISKCON temple. This was after the arrest of a prominent ISKCON leader on sedition charges.

[00:00:44] Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said he has left the decision of the next CM of the state to PM Modi.

[00:00:50] Shinde was speaking at a press meet in Mumbai. He also said the Mahavikas Akhadi had stalled development works taken up by the Mahayuti Alliance.

[00:01:01] Gaudam Adani and his associates have not been charged under the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, according to an Adani Group statement released on Wednesday.

[00:01:11] The statement clarified that while Adani and his team face three charges, none of them are related to FCPA violations.

[00:01:20] Actor Dhanush's production house has approached the Madras High Court against actor Nainthara, her husband Viknesh Shivan and their production company.

[00:01:30] This is over the alleged unauthorised use of video clippings from the film Nanam Rawdi Dhan for a Netflix documentary.

[00:01:38] Let's get into the details.

[00:01:41] A ceasefire between Israel and Lebanese armed group Hezbollah came into effect on Wednesday, stopping the 14-month fight.

[00:01:49] This is after both sides accepted an agreement brokered by the US and France.

[00:01:55] Lebanon's army, which is tasked with helping to ensure the ceasefire holds, said it was preparing to deploy to the south of the country.

[00:02:05] The military asked that residents of border villages delay returning home until the Israeli military, which has waged war against Iran-backed Hezbollah on several occasions and pushed around six kilometres into Lebanon, Bedros.

[00:02:20] While the ceasefire largely held on Wednesday morning, Israel said it identified Hezbollah operatives returning to areas near the border and had opened fire to prevent them from coming closer.

[00:02:33] ISKCON India on Wednesday addressed the Bangladesh government's writ petition seeking a ban on the organisation.

[00:02:39] This was following violent protests triggered by the arrest of ISKCON leader Chinmoyi Krishnadas Brahmchari.

[00:02:46] The group described the situation as beyond its control and expressed hope that US President-elect Donald Trump, who has previously condemned anti-Hindu violence in Bangladesh, would take action upon his return to the White House in January 2025.

[00:03:00] Widespread tensions and attacks have been reported in Bangladesh following the chain of events.

[00:03:07] Maharashtra CM Egnath Shinde stated that the decision regarding the next CM of the state has been left to PM Modi.

[00:03:14] Speaking at a press meet in Mumbai, Shinde also criticised the Mahavikas Akhadi, accusing it of stalling development projects initiated by the Mahayuti Alliance.

[00:03:24] BJP leader Deven Raffatnavis and Shinde are considered top contenders for the CM's position, though no official decision has been made yet.

[00:03:34] Gautam Adani and his associates have not been accused of violating the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act or FCPA, according to a statement from the Adani group on Wednesday.

[00:03:44] It noted that while Adani and his team are facing three charges, including securities fraud and wire fraud, which involve financial penalties, none of these charges pertain to FCPA violations.

[00:03:56] The indictment filed last week by the US Department of Justice in a New York court does not accuse Gautam Adani, his nephew Sagar Adani or Vinny Jain of conspiring to violate the FCPA, said the Adani Green Energy Limited or AGEL in a stock exchange filing.

[00:04:12] The charges against AGEL executives involved allegations of securities fraud conspiracy, wire fraud conspiracy and securities fraud.

[00:04:21] The company also noted that these charges typically carry lighter penalties compared to bribery-related offences.

[00:04:28] Actor Dhanush's production house, Wonder Bar Films has approached the Madras High Court against actor Nayantara, her husband and director Vignesh Shivan, the production company Rawdi Pictures Private Limited and Los Gatos Production Service India LLP.

[00:04:51] Wonder Bar Films produced the 2015 hit movie.

[00:04:54] Since the Los Gatos Production Service India operates out of Mumbai,

[00:04:58] Dhanush filed an application under Section 12 of the Letters Patent Act,

[00:05:02] seeking permission to sue the entity along with the other respondents in the Madras High Court.

[00:05:07] The conflict reportedly stems from Nayantara's request for a no-objection certificate to use clips from Nanam Rawdi Daan in the Netflix documentary.
