[00:00:21] A heated face-off between the opposition and NDA on the Parliament entry steps over an alleged insult to BR Ambedkar entered in an altercation between MPs. The clash injured former Minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi.

[00:00:35] The BJP accused Rahul Gandhi of pushing the senior member, a charge the Congress leader rejected.

[00:00:42] NDA MPs Anurag Thakur and Bansuri Swaraj, accompanied by TDP MP, filed a police complaint against a Raybareli MP.

[00:00:50] Trouble began when the India Bloc members insisted on entering Parliament through the BJP MPs holding a protest instead of using the space left empty on the side of the staircase of the Makar Dwar used by members to enter and exit the building.

[00:01:06] At least five terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgum district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

[00:01:13] Two security forces personnel sustained injuries in the operation that was launched in the early hours of Thursday, officials said.

[00:01:21] Security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Qadar in the Behibag area of the district on Wednesday night, following information about the presence of suspected terrorists there.

[00:01:31] The search operation turned into an encounter as the terrorists opened fire on security forces and they retaliated.

[00:01:38] Dominic Pellicott, the former husband of France's mass rape case victim Giselle Pellicott, was awarded 20 years in jail after being found guilty by a court on Thursday.

[00:01:48] The court found him guilty of repeatedly drugging and raping her for almost a decade and for inviting dozens of strangers to rape her unconscious body in their home.

[00:01:58] Pellicott will not be eligible for parole until he has served two-thirds of his sentence.

[00:02:04] The Supreme Court on Thursday stated the restrictions imposed by the Kerala High Court on the use of elephants in temple festivals.

[00:02:11] The Supreme Court ruled that any directions contrary to the Kerala Captive Elephants Management and Maintenance Rules 2012 would remain suspended.

[00:02:20] A bench comprising Justice BV Nagaratna and Justice N.K. Singh passed the order while hearing an appeal filed by the Thiruvambadi and Paramekava Devaswams, organizers of the iconic Trishupuram festival in Kerala.

[00:02:33] During the hearing, the Supreme Court bench termed the High Court's directions as impractical and questioned the court's authority to create rules, remarking that such powers are reserved for the rulemaking authorities.

[00:02:46] The deadlock over the hosting of Champions Trophy finally ended on Thursday when the ICC announced that India will play their matches of the 50-hour event at a neutral venue instead of host country Pakistan.

[00:02:58] Pakistan will also have a similar arrangement for tournaments to be held in India till 2027.

[00:03:03] The arrangement will apply to the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan, next year's Women's Cricket World Cup in India and the T20 World Cup in 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
